*** 2019 NFL MOCK DRAFT (3 rounds) updated Oct. 25. This mock draft will be updated occasionally. Check out old versions of this 2019 NFL Mock Draft in the archived mock section. Follow @walterfootball for NFL Draft updates. ***

  1. New York Giants: Justin Herbert, QB, Oregon
Giants ownership pushed for a quarterback prior to the 2018 NFL Draft, but general manager David Gettleman opted for Saquon Barkley instead. After what has transpired this year, I can’t imagine Gettleman going against ownership’s wishes again.

Justin Herbert played in just eight games last year, but has some major potential. He was accurate, completing 67 percent of his passes, and he also has nice size at 6-6, 225. He had a monster game versus Stanford and appears to now be the consensus top quarterback in this class. There’s been talk that Herbert will go back to school, but it’s still early in the process, and he still has time to make the correct decision.

  2. San Francisco 49ers: Nick Bosa, DE, Ohio State
The 49ers may want to look into adding another pass-rusher to go with Solomon Thomas, given all of the quarterbacking talent in the NFC West. Their defense is atrocious, and it all starts up front, where they can’t get much pressure on the quarterback outside of DeForest Buckner.

Nick Bosa has a tremendous skill set, and he was off to a great start in 2018 before injuring his knee. He should still be a top-five pick.

  3. Arizona Cardinals: Quinnen Williams, DT, Alabama
The Cardinals failed to secure a replacement for Calais Campbell yet again this past offseason, but I have to believe that general manager Steve Keim is well aware of how loaded the 2019 NFL Draft class is of defensive linemen. As bad as Arizona needs blockers for Josh Rosen, it won’t be able to pass up on one of the four stud defensive tackles.

Quinnen Williams had a breakout performance this season, and sources Charlie Campbell spoke to believe he’ll be a high first-round pick.

Pick change; previously Derrick Brown, DT

  4. Oakland Raiders: Clelin Ferrell, DE, Clemson
The Raiders traded Khalil Mack because they couldn’t afford to pay both him and Derek Carr obscene contracts, and that’ll be fine if they can replace Mack with one of the stellar edge rushers in the upcoming draft class.

Clelin Ferrell has elite athleticism, and he could’ve been a top-15, or even a top-10 pick in the 2018 NFL Draft had he declared (perhaps No. 6 overall to the Colts.)

  5. Indianapolis Colts: Derrick Brown, DT, Auburn
The Colts, once again, should target the best player available. This time, they can focus on their defensive front, which I believe they would have done had Bradley Chubb been available.

Derrick Brown has great size (6-5, 316) and tons of upside. He can be a great interior disruptor if he lives up to his potential.

Pick change; previously Nick Bosa, DE

  6. Buffalo Bills: Greg Little, OT, Ole Miss
The Bills absolutely need to improve Josh Allen’s protection and receiving talent. It could be argued that Buffalo has the worst offensive line in the NFL.

Greg “Mr. Reliable” Little was a five-star recruit coming out of high school. He’s an athletic left tackle who could become a top-10 pick.

  7. Cleveland Browns: Ed Oliver, DT, Houston
The Browns have a strong defensive line, but they could use an interior player who can generate a heavy pass rush. This would take their defensive front over the top.

Ed Oliver was a highly productive defensive lineman for Houston, recording a ridiculous 22.5 TFLs as a freshman. He’s been a monster this season and currently projects to be a top-five pick in the 2019 NFL Draft, so this is a steal for the Browns.

Pick change; previously Nick Bosa, DE

  8. Oakland Raiders: Devin White, LB, LSU
The Raiders have tons of defensive problems, but they can definitely change that with their three first-round picks. They’ll be able to use the selection that they fleeced from the Cowboys to improve their atrocious linebacking corps.

Devin White was extremely productive this past season, logging 133 tackles. A projected running back, White is still learning the position, which is crazy considering how great he was in 2017. White is already generating a buzz for the 2019 NFL Draft, as Charlie Campbell reported in the NFL Hot Press.

Pick change; previously A.J. Brown, WR (Cowboys)

  9. Tennessee Titans: DeAndre Baker, CB, Georgia
The Titans were supposed to have a great group of cornerbacks this season, but they were just torched in a London loss. Malcolm Butler has disappointed, while Logan Ryan will be owed an absurd $9.5 million next year, so he could be cut come March.

DeAndre Baker had a terrific 2017 campaign, showing great athleticism. He’s been great this season as well, especially against LSU.

Pick change; previously Cody Ford, G

  10. Jacksonville Jaguars: A.J. Brown, WR, Ole Miss
What about a quarterback? The Jaguars obviously need one, but Tom Coughlin may correctly realize that there’s better value with signal-callers in the second round of this class unless he can get Justin Herbert. Besides, the Jaguars need to give their new quarterback some weapons, including a No. 1 receiver, which they sorely need.

A.J. Brown has a tremendous athleticism, and he was a great weapon for Ole Miss last year.

Pick change; previously Drew Lock, QB

  11. New York Jets: Montez Sweat, DE/OLB, Mississippi State
Some Jet fan e-mailers were furious that their team didn’t add an edge rusher in the previous draft. My response was that this was more than just a short rebuilding process, and I’m sure general manager Mike Maccagnan was well aware that the 2019 NFL Draft will be loaded with edge rushers.

Montez Sweat registered 10.5 sacks in his first season, and he has major potential. He has a big frame and could stand to pack on 20 pounds of muscle, so the potential is there.

  12. Philadelphia Eagles: Jeffery Simmons, DT, Mississippi State
This is not addressing a need at all, but it’s using the strategy of selecting the best player available. Doug Pederson comes from the Andy Reid mindset where bolstering the trenches is paramount. Besides, an easy way to improve a struggling secondary is adding more players who can pressure the quarterback.

Jeffrey Simmons is an extremely disruptive interior force, but was found guilty of simple assault charges. He should be a top-five pick if teams are fine with his off-the-field issues, as he has an amazing blend of power and athleticism.

Pick change; previously Greedy Williams, CB

  13. Atlanta Falcons: Raekwon Davis, DE/DT, Alabama
The Falcons were expected to address their defensive line during the draft, but the spend too much energy doing it. They’ll need to make amends for that next spring.

Raekwon Davis had a dominant performance in the national championship to cap off his excellent 2017 season in which he logged 8.5 sacks.

Pick change; previously Derrick Brown, DT

  14. Denver Broncos: Rashan Gary, DE/DT, Michigan
The Broncos could address their defensive front seven again if they get this sort of value, especially after surrendering 300 rushing yards to the Jets. Derek Wolfe’s health is always a concern, while Adam Gotsis has off-the-field concerns.

Rashan Gary is an athletic freak. He wasn’t extremely productive as a freshman, but he recorded five sacks and 11 tackles for loss in 2017. His teammates believe he’ll be a top-10 pick.

Pick change; previously Jeffery Simmons, DT

  15. Oakland Raiders: Deionte Thompson, S, Alabama
Jon Gruden obtained his new Simeon Rice with his own pick. He found his new Derrick Brooks with Dallas’ selection. And now, he can get his new John Lynch with Chicago’s choice.

Deionte Thompson has a great blend of size (6-2, 196), speed and athleticism. He’s been very productive replacing Minkah Fitzpatrick.

Pick change; previously Tre Lamar, LB

  16. Seattle Seahawks: Dexter Lawrence, DT, Clemson
The Seahawks’ defense has regressed this year. Everyone points to the Legion of Boom, but Seattle also lost several starters on the defensive line.

Dexter Lawrence is a monster of a defensive tackle (6-5, 340) and is exceptional at both stuffing the run and pressuring the quarterback.

Pick change; previously Deionte Thompson, S
