This is a 2020 NFL Draft Re-Mock. I’m going back to 2020 and re-distributing all of the 2020 NFL Draft prospects to all of the teams in the 2020 NFL Draft order. This 2020 NFL Draft Re-Mock is based on how these players have performed in their careers, as well as the needs each team had back in 2020.

  1. Cincinnati Bengals: Joe Burrow, QB, LSU
    Actual 2020 NFL Draft Pick: Joe Burrow, QB
    My 2020 NFL Mock Draft Pick: Joe Burrow, QB

    This is the first time since the 2012 NFL Draft that my re-draft pick will be the same as the original. The Colts selected Andrew Luck in that draft class. Here, the Bengals will obviously have no regrets about Joe Burrow. Now, if only they could draft an owner who is willing to spend more money.

  2. Washington Redskins: Jalen Hurts, QB, Oklahoma
    Actual 2020 NFL Draft Pick: Chase Young, DE
    My 2020 NFL Mock Draft Pick: Chase Young, DE

    The Redskins had just drafted the now-late Dwayne Haskins the prior year, so they had an excuse not to obtain a quarterback. They opted for Chase Young instead. We know this was a mistake. The Redskins could have done to Haskins what the Cardinals did to Josh Rosen, which was give up on him after just one year. Arizona did the right thing, and Washington would have done so as well – especially when factoring in that this pick would steal a future Super Bowl MVP from a divisional rival.



  3. Detroit Lions: Tristan Wirfs, OT, Iowa
    Actual 2020 NFL Draft Pick: Jeff Okudah, CB
    My 2020 NFL Mock Draft Pick: Jeff Okudah, CB

    The Lions had Matthew Stafford at this time, so they weren’t in the market for a quarterback. Both a tackle and a receiver made sense. We saw Detroit select a blue-chip tackle over a receiver in a future draft, so I believe they would have gone with Tristan Wirfs over Justin Jefferson. You can’t really go wrong with either!



  4. New York Giants: Justin Jefferson, WR, LSU
    Actual 2020 NFL Draft Pick: Andrew Thomas, OT
    My 2020 NFL Mock Draft Pick: Tristan Wirfs, OT

    When your top receivers are an aging Golden Tate and Sterling Shepard, you have to target a receiver. Can you imagine if the Giants had Justin Jefferson and Malik Nabers right now? That would be terrifying if, well, the Giants had a quarterback.



  5. Miami Dolphins: Justin Herbert, QB, Oregon
    Actual 2020 NFL Draft Pick: Tua Tagovailoa, QB
    My 2020 NFL Mock Draft Pick: Tua Tagovailoa, QB

    The Dolphins had the choice between Tua Tagovailoa and Justin Herbert. It’s safe to say that they chose incorrectly. Tagovailoa’s had some great moments, but his career has been defined by his injuries. Justin Herbert has been much more reliable.



  6. Los Angeles Chargers: Jordan Love, QB, Utah State
    Actual 2020 NFL Draft Pick: Justin Herbert, QB
    My 2020 NFL Mock Draft Pick: Justin Herbert, QB

    This is “No Cookie” Jordan Love over Tua Tagovailoa because the latter can’t stay healthy. Love doesn’t have an extensive track record of success, but he’s enjoyed some great moments in his two years as a starter. He runs very hot and cold, and he could make a deep run in the playoffs one year if he can ride a hot wave.



  7. Carolina Panthers: Justin Madubuike, DT, Texas A&M
    Actual 2020 NFL Draft Pick: Derrick Brown, DT
    My 2020 NFL Mock Draft Pick: Derrick Brown, DT

    The Panthers can draft the better version of Derrick Brown. Like Tua Tagovailoa, Brown is a player who has thrived at times, but hasn’t been able to remain on the field. Justin Madubuike has dominated for Baltimore.



  8. Atlanta Falcons: Jon Greenard, DE/OLB, Florida
    Actual 2020 NFL Draft Pick: A.J. Terrell, CB
    My 2020 NFL Mock Draft Pick: Javon Kinlaw, DT

    The Falcons had a long stretch in which they really struggled to get to the quarterback. It almost lasted a decade, and it finally concluded following the bye during the 2024 season. Atlanta could have shortened this drought by taking Jon Greenard.



  9. Jacksonville Jaguars: CeeDee Lamb, WR, Oklahoma
    Actual 2020 NFL Draft Pick: C.J. Henderson, CB
    My 2020 NFL Mock Draft Pick: C.J. Henderson, CB

    One of my other possibilities for this pick five years ago was CeeDee Lamb. The Jaguars, however, chose C.J. Henderson, which turned out to be a huge mistake. Jacksonville’s top two receivers at this time were D.J. Chark and Dede Westbrook.



  10. Cleveland Browns: Andrew Thomas, OT, Georgia
    Actual 2020 NFL Draft Pick: Jedrick Wills, OT
    My 2020 NFL Mock Draft Pick: Isaiah Simmons, LB

    Here’s another pick where I assigned the re-drafted player as another possibility. Of course, the Browns never had a chance to draft Andrew Thomas because he went No. 4 overall. They can get him as a big upgrade over Jedrick Wills in this re-draft.



  11. New York Jets: Tee Higgins, WR, Clemson
    Actual 2020 NFL Draft Pick: Mekhi Becton, OT
    My 2020 NFL Mock Draft Pick: Jedrick Wills, OT

    Take a look at the Jets’ receiving corps heading into the 2020 NFL Draft: Jamison Crowder, Josh Doctson, Quincy Enunwa. Yikes! How did they pass on CeeDee Lamb and Justin Jefferson!? They can get another talented receiver in this re-draft.



  12. Las Vegas Raiders: A.J. Terrell, CB, Clemson
    Actual 2020 NFL Draft Pick: Henry Ruggs, WR
    My 2020 NFL Mock Draft Pick: Henry Ruggs, WR

    Henry Ruggs didn’t quite pan out for the Raiders. With the top receivers gone, they could address their abysmal secondary. They’ve had an issue at cornerback for what seems like an eternity. That wouldn’t be the case had they drafted A.J. Terrell.



  13. San Francisco 49ers: Derrick Brown, DE/DT, Auburn
    Actual 2020 NFL Draft Pick: Javon Kinlaw, DT
    My 2020 NFL Mock Draft Pick: CeeDee Lamb, WR

    The 49ers acquired this pick from the Colts in the DeForest Buckner trade. They tried to replace Buckner with Javon Kinlaw, who turned out to be a colossal bust. Derrick Brown has an injury history, but he would have been a much better selection had he been available.



  14. Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Antoine Winfield Jr., S, Minnesota
    Actual 2020 NFL Draft Pick: Tristan Wirfs, OT
    My 2020 NFL Mock Draft Pick: Andrew Thomas, OT

    The Buccaneers can’t get their original first-round pick in this re-draft because Tristan Wirfs was chosen much earlier. They can, however, snag their second-round pick, Antoine Winfield Jr., who has been a dynamic player in their secondary.



  15. Denver Broncos: Patrick Queen, LB, LSU
    Actual 2020 NFL Draft Pick: Jerry Jeudy, WR
    My 2020 NFL Mock Draft Pick: Jerry Jeudy, WR

    The Broncos had problems at linebacker for a long time. They always considered a linebacker in the opening round, but it never happened. That would finally come to fruition in this re-draft. Well, fake fruition, but still.



  16. Arizona Cardinals: Jonathan Taylor, RB, Wisconsin
    Actual 2020 NFL Draft Pick: Isaiah Simmons, LB
    My 2020 NFL Mock Draft Pick: Kenneth Murray, LB

    I wanted to place Jonathan Taylor earlier in this re-draft, but couldn’t find a home for him. This would be a great spot, as Arizona’s top two running backs heading into the 2020 NFL Draft were Kenyan Drake and Chase Edmonds.
