  1. Pittsburgh Steelers: Mazi Smith, DT, Michigan
The Steelers have made some nice additions in free agency, but they still need to bolster their defensive line.

Mazi Smith is a monstrous nose tackle who can generate a pass rush.

  2. Houston Texans: Will Levis, QB, Kentucky Kentucky
Will Levis could easily tumble out of the top 10. If he does, where will he fall? Considering that he has some major flaws in his game, he could slide further than many imagine. In fact, he could fall out of the first round, and if he does, he could be the choice here for Houston.

Levis has a big arm and could be chosen in the top 10. However, he has accuracy issues and no touch. He’ll need good coaching to succeed.

Pick change; previously Brian Branch, CB/S

  3. Arizona Cardinals: Brian Branch, CB/S, Alabama Alabama
It sounds like Budda Baker will be traded, so the Cardinals will need to find a new safety. Here’s one who can also fill the void at one of the corner spots.

Brian Branch has nice size and cover ability. He can play anywhere in the secondary.

Pick change; previously Anton Harrison, OT

  4. Indianapolis Colts: Kelee Ringo, CB, Georgia Georgia
The Colts lost Stephon Gilmore in a trade with the Cowboys this offseason. They’ll be looking to find a replacement early in the 2023 NFL Draft. They also need safety help, so they figure to draft some sort of defensive back on Day 2.

A huge cornerback with lots of upside, Kelee Ringo performed well in place of Tyson Campbell. He could drum up some interest late in the first round.

  5. Los Angeles Rams: Dawand Jones, OT, Ohio State Ohio State
Charlie Campbell reported that the Rams would be targeting an offensive lineman if they still had their first-round draft choice.

Dawand Jones is a massive tackle who figures to have issues against speeed rushers.

  6. Seattle Seahawks: Will McDonald, DE, Iowa State Iowa State
The Seahawks aren’t messing around with their defensive front. They really need to upgrade their terribly weak pass rush.

Will McDonald is a fast and athletic edge rusher.

  7. Las Vegas Raiders: Hendon Hooker, QB, Tennessee
Josh McDaniels told the media that he wants to find a quarterback of the future, so here he is. The Raiders reportedly have Hendon Hooker as their third-rated quarterback.

Hooker is a dual-threat quarterback enjoyed a great season for Tennessee. The top downside prior to his torn ACL was that he’ll turn 25 prior to the draft. The ACL is a concern for the short term, but not for the team drafting him in this situation.

  8. Carolina Panthers: Jalin Hyatt, WR, Tennessee Tennessee
Adam Thielen and D.J. Chark are not viable replacements for D.J. Moore. Bryce Young needs a dynamic No. 1 receiver.

Jalin Hyatt had a great season with lots of big plays for Tennessee.

  9. New Orleans Saints: Cam Smith, CB, South Carolina South Carolina
The Saints continue to improve their pass defense by finding a needed upgrade across from Marshon Lattimore.

Cam Smith is a fast cornerback with long arms.

  10. Arizona Cardinals: Keeanu Benton, DT, Wisconsin Wisconsin
The Cardinals will acquire this pick if they trade with the Titans. They could use this selection to bolster their horrible defensive line, which lost J.J. Watt this offseason.

Keeanu Benton has a nice skill set and upside.

Pick change; previously John Michael Schmitz, C (TEN)

  11. Green Bay Packers: John Michael Schmitz, C, Minnesota Minnesota
Josh Myers has been one of the worst starting centers in the NFL in the past couple of years, so it would be no surprise if Green Bay addressed the position to help No Cookie Jordan Love.

John Michael Schmitz is a big, strong interior lineman, but has some athleticism concerns.

Pick change; previously Jaelyn Duncan, OT

  12. New York Jets: Drew Sanders, LB, Arkansas Arkansas
The Jets struggle to defend the middle of the field, so they’ll be interested in a second-day linebacker with their new Round 2 pick.

Drew Sanders has an excellent blend of size and athleticism.

  13. Atlanta Falcons: Adetomiwa Adebawore, DE/DT, Northwestern Northwestern
The Falcons must find a pass rusher in the first couple of rounds, given that they’ve maintained the worst pressure rate in the NFL over each of the past two seasons.

Adetomiwa Adebawore has some solid ability, but is a tweener. He posted Mario Williams- and J.J. Watt-type numbers at the combine.

  14. Green Bay Packers: Felix Anudike-Uzomah, DE/OLB, Kansas State Kansas State
Green Bay had to blitz frequently last year as a result of four players not being able to get to the quarterback consistently.

  15. New England Patriots: Quan Martin, CB/S, Illinois Illinois
Bill Belichick loves his versatile defensive backs. He’ll need safety help with Devin McCourty retiring.

Quan Martin is a smooth athlete who can play anywhere in the secondary.

  16. Washington Redskins: Tyler Steen, OT/G, Alabama Alabama
The Redskins brought in a whopping nine players in for top-30 visits, so they will almost certainly spend an early pick on a blocker to help Slingin’ Sammy Howell.

Tyler Steen did a great job on Bryce Young’s blind side after transferring from Vanderbilt.

  17. Detroit Lions: Jack Campbell, LB, Iowa Iowa
The Lions have a huge hole at linebacker, so perhaps they’ll address it in the first two rounds of the 2023 NFL Draft.

Jack Campbell has the size and athleticism to be a three-down player in the NFL.

  18. Pittsburgh Steelers: Jaelyn Duncan, OT, Maryland Maryland
Mike Tomlin wants to fix the secondary. The front office desires to upgrade the offensive line. The Steelers can do both in the first couple of rounds.

Jaelyn Duncan “the Tall” is a team captain who showed some solid athleticism.

Pick change; previously Matthew Bergeron, OT/G

  19. Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Keion White, DE, Georgia Tech Georgia Tech
The Buccaneers have hosted more pass rushers than any other position for top-30 visits.

Keion White has nice size to go with his speed and athleticism.

  20. Miami Dolphins: Steve Avila, C/G, TCU TCU
The Dolphins need to solidify their offensive line so that Tua Tagovailoa stays healthy for a change.

Steve Avila is a versatile lineman who can play center, guard and right tackle.

  21. Seattle Seahawks: Cam Mitchell, CB/S, Northwestern Northwestern
The Seahawks lost Ryan Neal this offseason, which would explain why they brought in so many safeties for top-30 visits.

Cam Mitchell is an instinctive, phsyical cornerback with good size. He can also play safety.

  22. Chicago Bears: Derick Hall, DE, Auburn Auburn
The Bears lost a ton of front-seven talent over the past couple of offseasons, so they really need help finding players who can get to the quarterback.

Derick Hall was a solid player at Auburn, but doesn’t have high potential for the NFL.

  23. Los Angeles Chargers: Josh Downs, WR, North Carolina
Keenan Allen won’t be with the Chargers much longer, while Mike Williams always gets hurt.

Josh Downs projects as a speedy slot receiver.

  24. Detroit Lions: Sam LaPorta, TE, Iowa Iowa
The Lions have an obvious hole at tight end because they traded T.J. Hockenson.

Sam LaPorta is a bit short for his position, but could be a quality receiving threat.

  25. Jacksonville Jaguars: Tuli Tuipulotu, DE, USC USC
The Jaguars must focus on bolstering their pass rush and cornerback group to make sure they’re much better against the pass in 2023.

Tuli Tuipulotu used his explosion and twist to enjoy an incredible ’22 season.

  26. New York Giants: Kendre Miller, RB, TCU TCU
The Giants have nothing behind Saquon Barkley, who is entering his contract year, so I expect them to draft a running back on Day 2.

Kendre Miller has great instincts and natural running ability.

  27. Dallas Cowboys: Daiyan Henley, LB, Washington State Washington State
Mediocre-at-best draft writers criticized Charlie Campbell for his breaking news about a team removing Leighton Vander Esch from their draft board. Charlie was proven right, as usual, and now Dallas needs an insurance policy for the frequently injured Vander Esch.

Daiyan Henley has great sideline-to-sideline speed.

  28. Buffalo Bills: Luke Musgrave, TE, Oregon State Oregon State
The Bills need better offensive weapons, and that would include a second tight end to help in the red zone, which was a big problem area last year.

Scouts like Luke Musgrave even though he never produced much in college.

  29. Cincinnati Bengals: D.J. Turner, CB, Michigan Michigan
The Bengals would love to land a cornerback like Emmanuel Forbes in the first round, but they may have to wait until the second frame to address the position.

D.J. Turner was the fastest cornerback at the combine.

  30. Chicago Bears: Jonathan Mingo, WR, Ole Miss Mississippi
Despite the Bears trading for D.J. Moore and Chase Claypool, they’re still looking for an injection of talent into the position.

Jonathan Mingo is a huge receiver who runs great routes and can generate good yards after the catch.

  31. Philadelphia Eagles: Zach Charbonnet, RB, UCLA UCLA
If the Eagles pass on Bijan Robinson and Jahmyr Gibbs, they’ll select someone like this on Day 2.

Zach Charbonnet is a quality receiver out of the backfield who runs with a nice burst.

  32. Kansas City Chiefs: B.J. Ojulari, DE/OLB, LSU LSU
The Chiefs want another edge rusher to pair with George Karlaftis for the long haul.

B.J. Ojulari did a great job of taking over for the injured Ali Gaye in 2021.
