NFL Rumors – March 7 Updates:

The Cardinals have inquired about Trey Hendrickson. – Johnny Venerable, PHNX Sports
The Cardinals haven’t possessed a great pass rush since J.J. Watt and Chandler Jones were on their front line. Hendrickson would obviously change that.

The Falcons and Redskins have been monitoring the Trey Hendrickson trade situation. – Jordan Schultz, Schultz Report
Both could use a talented edge rusher to take their defense to the next level. The Redskins are the favorites to land Myles Garrett, but Hendrickson would be a fine consolation prize.

Russell Wilson is scheduled to visit the Browns and then the Giants. – Adam Schefter, ESPN
It’s unclear why anyone would want Wilson, aside from tanking ramifications. Signing him would not preclude any team from drafting a quarterback.
NFL Rumors – March 2 Updates:

Daniel Jones, Kirk Cousins, and Carson Wentz are on the Browns’ radar. – Jeremy Fowler, ESPN
If signed, one of these three will be a bridge quarterback for either Cam Ward or Shedeur Sanders. Jones seems like the best option because he’s still a young quarterback and has the most upside.
NFL Rumors – March 1 Updates:
Comment on these NFL Rumors
The Browns are very “dug in” on keeping Myles Garrett. – Jeremy Fowler, ESPN
Garrett, meanwhile, said that he’s not returning. This seems like a ploy for Cleveland to obtain some leverage in a potential trade. The Browns are $30 million over the cap, and Garrett doesn’t want to be on the team anymore, so a trade seems likely.
NFL Rumors – Feb 27 Updates:
Comment on these NFL Rumors
Myles Garrett has slammed the door on a contract extension for the Browns. – Mary Kay Cabot, Cleveland.com
Cleveland insists that it can re-sign him in an attempt to gain leverage for a trade. The Redskins remain the favorites to trade for him.

NFL Rumors – March 14 Updates:
Comment on these NFL Rumors
Dallas is not the likely landing spot for Cooper Kupp. – Adam Schefter, ESPN
There were earlier reports suggesting that the Cowboys were going hard after Kupp. This appears to be more misinformation coming from an agent, who, in fairness, is just doing his job.

NFL Rumors – March 10 Updates:
Comment on these NFL Rumors
Evan Engram is visiting the Broncos. – Adam Schefter, ESPN
Sean Payton is looking for his next Jimmy Graham. He would be wise not to overpay for Engram, however, given how talented the tight end class is this year.

NFL Rumors – Feb 27 Updates:
Comment on these NFL Rumors
The Packers are open to trading Jaire Alexander. – Ian Rapoport, NFL Network
The question is if any team is willing to give up anything for him. Alexander is very talented, but is always injured.

Stefon Diggs is unlikely to return to the Texans. – Jonathan Alexander, Houston Chronicles
Diggs is an expensive, aging player coming off a torn ACL, so his departure wouldn’t be surprising.

NFL Rumors – March 2 Updates:
Comment on these NFL Rumors
Daniel Jones and Jacoby Brissett is on Indianapolis’ radar. – Jeremy Fowler, ESPN
Though Jones is younger and has more upside, Brissett would make more sense as someone who could steady the ship if/when Anthony Richardson is benched again.

NFL Rumors – March 12 Updates:
Comment on these NFL Rumors
The Jaguars, Saints, and Seahawks are in the mix for Cooper Kupp. – Mike Garafolo, NFL Network
If true, they must not have watched him play late last season. This also could be Kupp’s agent trying to stir things up for his client. Kupp shouldn’t get anything more than a couple of million for 2025.

NFL Rumors – March 17 Updates:
Comment on these NFL Rumors
The Raiders could target Stefon Diggs. – Ryan McFadden, ESPN
Diggs would potentially fill the need for a No. 1 receiver, but this would require him to recover from his torn ACL.
NFL Rumors – March 7 Updates:
Comment on these NFL Rumors
The Raiders are exploring the possibility of trading for a quarterback. – Dianna Marie Russini, The Athletic
My money would be on Geno Smith, who would be able to reunite with Pete Carroll and serve as a short-term solution.

The two most-likely landing spots for Sam Darnold are the Raiders and Giants. – Alec Lewis, The Athletic
Teams in pursuit of Darnold will need to remember that Darnold won’t come pre-packaged with Kevin O’Connell. Darnold had a strong 2024, but he’s likely to regress this season.
NFL Rumors – March 1 Updates:

The Raiders aren’t high on Sam Darnold or any of the other free agent quarterbacks. – Vic Tafur, The Athletic
Now that Matthew Stafford is off the market, the Raiders may be more motivated to go after a rookie quarterback. Darnold won’t come with Kevin O’Connell in a two-for-one special, after all.
NFL Rumors – Feb 26 Updates:
Comment on these NFL Rumors
The Raiders are interested in Matthew Stafford. – Vincent Bonsignore, Las Vegas Review-Journal
Of course they are. Let’s see if Tom Brady can use his magic to lure Stafford to his team. Stafford would turn the Raiders into a relevant team for the first time in a while.

NFL Rumors – Feb 27 Updates:
Comment on these NFL Rumors
Aaron Rodgers could come cheap for the Rams. – Mike Florio, Pro Football Talk
Florio, who has Aaron Rodgers Derangement Syndrome, notes that Rodgers wants to play for a contender. The Rams obviously qualify, and Rodgers would be a cheap option if Matthew Stafford were to be traded.

NFL Rumors – March 19 Updates:
Comment on these NFL Rumors
The Vikings have interest in Tyler Lockett. – Darren Wolfson, Five Eyewitness News
I thought the Raiders might obtain Lockett, but the Vikings would like to get a better third receiver, apparently. Lockett would be able to contribute for just one year.
NFL Rumors – March 14 Updates:
Comment on these NFL Rumors
Rondale Moore is visiting Minnesota. – Adam Schefter, ESPN
Perhaps to take a trip to the Mall of America. There’s no reason the Vikings should be interested in him.
NFL Rumors – March 13 Updates:
Comment on these NFL Rumors
The Vikings are seriously considering the possibility of adding Aaron Rodgers. – Dianna Marie Russini, The Athletic
This would only make sense if J.J. McCarthy were behind in his ACL recovery. Rodgers, however, should play better in 2025 than he did in 2024 because he is another year removed from a torn Achilles.

NFL Rumors – March 19 Updates:
Comment on these NFL Rumors
Stefon Diggs will be meeting with the Patriots. – Chad Graff, The Athletic
I’m sure there were many Patriot fans who pined for Diggs when he was dominating on Buffalo’s roster. This current Diggs is not nearly the same player, given that he’s in his 30s and is coming off a torn ACL.
NFL Rumors – March 7 Updates:
Comment on these NFL Rumors
The Patriots are expected to be the frontrunners for Chris Godwin. – Mike Giardi, Boston Sports Journal
I would consider the Jaguars the frontrunner for Godwin because of the connection with Liam Coen, but New England has the most cap space.
NFL Rumors – Feb 27 Updates:
Comment on these NFL Rumors
The Patriots’ offseason plans do not include Tee Higgins. – Chad Graff, The Athletic
Graff mentions that the Patriots will focus on the offensive and defensive lines instead. Drake Maye can’t be too thrilled about this, given how bad his receiving corps is.

NFL Rumors – March 14 Updates:
Comment on these NFL Rumors
Jameis Winston is visiting the Giants. – Tom Pelissero, NFL Network
This won’t preclude the Giants from drafting, or even trading up for Cam Ward or Shedeur Sanders. Winston to Malik Nabers would be fun though.
NFL Rumors – March 12 Updates:
Comment on these NFL Rumors
Russell Wilson is scheduled to visit the Browns and then the Giants. – Adam Schefter, ESPN
It’s unclear why anyone would want Wilson, aside from tanking ramifications. Signing him would not preclude any team from drafting a quarterback.
NFL Rumors – March 7 Updates:
Comment on these NFL Rumors
The Giants have been in on Russell Wilson. – Jordan Schultz, Schultz Report
This will serve one of two purposes. If the Giants can trade up for Cam Ward, Wilson will be a veteran insurance policy. If the Giants can’t get Ward, then Wilson will allow them to tank for the No. 1 pick in the 2026 NFL Draft.
NFL Rumors – March 3 Updates:
Comment on these NFL Rumors
The two most-likely landing spots for Sam Darnold are the Raiders and Giants. – Alec Lewis, The Athletic
Teams in pursuit of Darnold will need to remember that Darnold won’t come pre-packaged with Kevin O’Connell. Darnold had a strong 2024, but he’s likely to regress this season.
NFL Rumors – March 2 Updates:
Comment on these NFL Rumors
Russell Wilson considers the Giants an option. – Jeremy Fowler, ESPN
Wilson is a perfect option for the Giants because that would allow them to tank for Archie Manning.
NFL Rumors – Feb 28 Updates:
Comment on these NFL Rumors
The Giants have shifted their focus to Aaron Rodgers. – Dianna Marie Russini, The Athletic
With Matthew Stafford going back to the Rams, the Giants are getting desperate. They’d be better off tanking.
NFL Rumors – Feb 27 Updates:
Comment on these NFL Rumors
The Giants acquiring Matthew Stafford is “firmly on the table.” – Dan Duggan, The Athletic
The Giants might be priced out of landing one of the top two quarterbacks, so Matthew Stafford could be their best option.

NFL Rumors – March 7 Updates:
Comment on these NFL Rumors
The Jets are most interested in Justin Fields. – Jordan Schultz, Schultz Report
Fields gives the Jets another shot at a 2021 NFL Draft quarterback. He’s a nice option for the Jets because he’ll either live up to his potential or allow the Jets to have a shot at Arch Manning.
NFL Rumors – March 2 Updates:
Comment on these NFL Rumors
The Jets have interest in Tim Patrick. – Connor Hughes, SNY
Patrick is a solid receiver and could be a decent short-term No. 2.

NFL Rumors – March 9 Updates:
Comment on these NFL Rumors
The Eagles are hoping for a fourth-round pick for Dallas Goedert. – Josina Anderson, ESPN
Goedert is a talented tight end, but he’s also an injury-prone player heading into the final year of his contract.
NFL Rumors – March 1 Updates:
Comment on these NFL Rumors
The Eagles are interested in acquiring Myles Garrett. – Dianna Marie Russini, The Athletic
You can’t ever count out the Eagles in a trade for a big-time player, but Philadelphia doesn’t have a ton of cap space. The Redskins remain the favorite to trade for Garrett.

NFL Rumors – March 10 Updates:
Comment on these NFL Rumors
Mike Tomlin and Aaron Rodgers are expected to explore a union. – Adam Schefter, ESPN
Rodgers might be the best one-year option on the market, which says a lot about how weak this free agent quarterback class is.
NFL Rumors – March 9 Updates:

The Steelers are making an offer to Sam Darnold. – Dianna Marie Russini, The Athletic
Adding D.K. Metcalf surely makes Pittsburgh much more appealing to Darnold.
NFL Rumors – March 4 Updates:
Comment on these NFL Rumors
The Steelers are likely to keep Justin Fields over Russell Wilson. – Ian Rapoport, NFL Network
…then why did they start Wilson in the second half of the season? Either way, the Steelers must explore drafting a quarterback at some point in the first three rounds.

NFL Rumors – March 9 Updates:
Comment on these NFL Rumors
The 49ers are having discussions with Joey Bosa. – Tim Kawikami, SFStandard.com
It would be cool to see the Bosa brothers together. The 49ers have a very soft schedule, so a Bosa addition would help them make a deep playoff push.
NFL Rumors – March 7 Updates:
Comment on these NFL Rumors
The 49ers are expected to target Jonathan Allen. – Eric Branch, San Francisco Chronicle
This makes sense, as defensive tackle is a big need. Allen is coming off a down year, but is still young enough to rebound.
NFL Rumors – March 1 Updates:
Comment on these NFL Rumors
Teams have expressed interest in trading for Brandon Aiyuk. – Dianna Marie Russini, The Athletic
It’s unclear why they would trade for Aiyuk this offseason. Aiyuk is coming off a torn ACL and MCL, so he’s almost certainly going to be limited and injury-prone in 2025. Any general manager interested in Aiyuk right now should play fantasy football and draft skill players coming off torn ACLs.

NFL Rumors – March 14 Updates:
Comment on these NFL Rumors
Teven Jenkins will be visiting the Seahawks. – Adam Schefter, ESPN
Jenkins is the best interior offensive lineman still available, so he would be a great addition for a team that is sorely lacking in that area.
NFL Rumors – March 9 Updates:
Comment on these NFL Rumors
The Seahawks will talk to Aaron Rodgers. – Dianna Marie Russini, The Athletic
About either joining the team or what mushrooms they should ingest in the desert. Rodgers would be an OK one-year solution as Seattle presumably adds a quarterback in the first two rounds of the draft.
NFL Rumors – March 7 Updates:
Comment on these NFL Rumors
The Seahawks are targeting Sam Darnold as a replacement for Geno Smith. – Dianna Marie Russini, The Athletic
If true, the Seahawks won’t be getting much of an upgrade, given that Kevin O’Connell won’t be a package deal with Darnold. Still, Darnold is much younger and offers more upside. The smart money seems to be on Seattle drafting a quarterback at some point.
NFL Rumors – March 2 Updates:
Comment on these NFL Rumors
It doesn’t sound like DK Metcalf will be available via trade. – Jeff Howe, The Athletic
Metcalf has been projected to be traded to various teams, including the Buccaneers and Steelers. Apparently, he’s not going anywhere.

NFL Rumors – March 10 Updates:

The Titans are interested in Russell Wilson. – Connor Hughes, SNY
It’s not clear why, but the smart money is on Aaron Rodgers signing with Tennessee.

NFL Rumors – March 9 Updates:
Comment on these NFL Rumors
The Redskins are showing interest in trading for Trey Hendrickson. – Dianna Marie Russini, The Athletic
Myles Garrett is not available anymore, so Hendrickson would be the next option to bolster Washington’s mediocre pass rush.
