I’ve been posting NFL Free Agent Rumors and NFL Draft Rumors daily on each page. These are listed per team, so click on each link if you’re interested in seeing all of the rumors from your favorite team.
However, I received a suggestion to post all of the latest rumors in a daily format for those interested in multiple teams. That’s what I’ve done on this new NFL Rumors page. Follow @walterfootball for NFL Rumors Updates.
NFL Rumors – May 8 Updates:
Adding offensive firepower is Arizona’s greatest priority. – Matt Miller, ESPN
We know this to be untrue from Mike Jurecki’s report. Matt Miller has a horrendous track record with awful sources.
NFL Rumors – May 7 Updates:
The Cardinals love Walter Nolen and wish for him to fall to No. 16. – Mike Jurecki, Cardinals reporter
Jurecki is the best team reporter in the business, so make sure you place Nolen to the Cardinals in your mock drafts.
NFL Rumors – April 24 Updates:
The Broncos and Texans are looking to trade up. – Dianna Marie Russini, The Athletic
Denver makes lots of sense because it has such few needs. The Texans would likely be moving up for an offensive lineman or a receiver.
The Giants are trying to obtain a second first-round pick. – Dianna Marie Russini, The Athletic
Presumably for a quarterback. That’s obvious. The question is which one, and how high will they be willing to trade?
The Broncos will look to draft Treyveon Henderson, perhaps via trading up. – Mike Florio, Pro Football Talk
Mike Florio took a break from crying about Aaron Rodgers to post this news.
The Broncos have Omarion Hampton just a “smidge” behind Ashton Jeanty. – Charlie Campbell, WalterFootball.com
If so, they should be comfortable drafting him at No. 20. Other publications have linked Treyveon Henderson to Denver.
The Buccaneers have been high on Jihaad Campbell throughout the entire draft process. They also like Carson Scheswinger. – Charlie Campbell, WalterFootball.com
Either way, linebacker seems very likely for Tampa Bay. Edge is also possible.
The Redskins love Tyler Booker and Maxwell Hairston. – Charlie Campbell, WalterFootball.com
Both could be off the board, with Hairston having a better chance of being available.
The Raiders will draft Ashton Jeanty if he’s available. – Charlie Campbell, WalterFootball.com
Jeanty is expected to go five, but if he makes it to the Raiders, he’ll be the pick.
NFL Rumors – April 23 Updates:
The Jaguars are a team to watch to move up to No. 2. – Ian Rapoport, NFL Network
While within the realm of possibility, this seems like complete nonsense. There’s been some chatter about the Jaguars swapping with the Bears.
“I think if Jalon Walker is available, he’s the pick.” – Joe Person, The Athletic
Person is one of the top NFL team reporters, so this opinion carries lots of weight.
The Bears are looking to trade up. – Pat Leonard, NYDN Sports
I would assume this is for Ashton Jeanty. It sounds like the Bears would have to move ahead of the Jaguars to get him, but the Patriots love Will Campbell.
The Lions really like Tyler Booker. – Charlie Campbell, WalterFootball.com
Charlie mentioned Donovan Jackson as well for Detroit. Booker did not test well, so he could fall to the Lions at or around No. 28.
The Saints’ staff has been all over Mykel Williams. – Charlie Campbell, WalterFootball.com
Williams going No. 9 would make a lot of sense, given New Orleans’ declining pass rush.
Treyveon Henderson and Quinshon Judkins are Dallas’ preferred options at running back in Round 2. – Charlie Campbell, WalterFootball.com
Judkins is my pick in my 2025 NFL Mock Draft. I believe Henderson will be off the board by the time Dallas is on the clock in Round 2.
Sources with the Raiders liked Ashton Jeanty, but some in the building believe that they can get good running back prospects on Day 2. “From what I’m hearing, I think Las Vegas will take Armand Membou.” – Charlie Campbell, WalterFootball.com
The Raiders may not even get the chance to draft Jeanty because the Boise State running back is now favored to go to Jacksonville.
“According to multiple sources, Miami’s targets are offensive tackle, safety and cornerback, with the pick coming down to the highest grade on the board.”
– Matt Miller, ESPN
Take this with a grain of salt, as Matt Miller is often wrong about everything.
The Rams will show interest in a first-round tight end. – Dianna Marie Russini, The Athletic
Colston Loveland could be long gone, so that would mean the Rams would either have to trade up or reach for Elijah Arroyo.
The Dolphins were all over Malaki Starks at his pro day. – Charlie Campbell, WalterFootball.com
Miami is desperate for a safety and could view Starks to be superior to Nick Emmanwori. However, the Dolphins have needs at almost every position, so a safety at No. 13 could be deemed a luxury they can’t afford.
The Seahawks really like Nick Emmanwori. – Charlie Campbell, WalterFootball.com
Charlie added that he still believes the Seahawks are most likely to draft an offensive lineman. However, if all the viable blockers are gone, Seattle could pull the trigger on the athletic safety.
“I think the Jaguars are locked in on Ashton Jeanty.” – Charlie Campbell, WalterFootball.com
Jeanty is one of our draft prop bets at No. 5.
“I keep hearing the receiver pick will come in Round 2 in Packers fashion.” – Matt Miller, ESPN
Given how horrible Miller’s sources are, it sounds likely that Green Bay will draft a receiver in the first round.
The Steelers don’t like Shedeur Sanders. – Peter Schrager, ESPN
Aaron Wilson also reported this. Sanders gave himself glowing reviews for his trip to the Steelers, but the team apparently did not feel the same way.
NFL Rumors – April 22 Updates:
The Texans have begun “sniffing around” trading up for an offensive lineman. – Albert Breer, Sports Illustrated
Houston’s blocking took a huge hit when it traded Laremy Tunsil, so moving up for a lineman makes sense, especially when considering the extra draft capital.
Brian Daboll is high on Jaxson Dart. – Connor Hughes, SNY
Is anyone high on Shedeur Sanders? Either way, the Giants and Saints could be fighting for Dart at the end of Thursday night or the beginning of Friday evening.
It’s “safe to say” that the Saints won’t draft Shedeur Sanders. – Jeff Duncan, NOLA.com
It sounds like the Saints like Jaxson Dart more than Sanders anyway. They’re expected to target Dart with their second pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.
“Don’t be surprised if the Redskins go receiver in the first round.” – Charlie Campbell, WalterFootball.com
We’ll see who’s available, but receiver makes a lot of sense, despite the addition of Deebo Samuel. Charlie also brought up edge rusher and offensive tackle as other options.
The Colts really like Tyler Booker, but positional value will lead them to look elsewhere. – Charlie Campbell, WalterFootball.com
This is probably for the best, as the Colts could obtain a solid guard on Day 2 of the draft.
Sources with other teams believe the Saints love Tyler Warren. The Saints were also all over Mykel Williams at his pro day. – Charlie Campbell, WalterFootball.com
Both picks make sense for the Saints, who may want to trade down because they have so many needs, especially in the wake of Derek Carr’s injury.
NFL Rumors – April 21 Updates:
The Jaguars are deciding between Mason Graham, Kenneth Grant, and Ashton Jeanty. – Charlie Campbell, WalterFootball.com
Jeanty would arguably be the best player of the bunch, but the question is if the Jaguars want to use the fifth-overall pick on a running back.
“Ashton Jeanty feels like Jacksonville to me.” – Daniel Jeremiah, NFL Network
It seems as though the Jaguars’ No. 5 selection could come down to Jeanty, Mason Graham, and Jalon Walker.
The Lions have been doing their homework on Maxwell Hairston. – Dane Brugler, The Athletic
Detroit just drafted a cornerback. Defensive end seems more likely, but Hairston is definitely a possibility at No. 28.
The Jets quietly had Tyler Warren in for a visit, and certain members in the building are enamored with him. – Adam Schefter, ESPN
It’s a bit odd to draft Warren at No. 7 after passing on Brock Bowers at No. 11, but the Jets have a new front office.
Multiple personnel people believe the Bears are praying that Ashton Jeanty will fall to them at No. 10. – Adam Schefter, ESPN
Not only do the Bears have to worry about the Jaguars or Raiders drafting Jeanty; they also have to be concerned about the Broncos trading up for him.
The Broncos have made inquiries about trading up. – Adam Schefter, ESPN
We have them moving up for Ashton Jeanty in our 2025 NFL Mock Draft.
The Saints are “hot and heavy” on Jaxson Dart. – Adam Schefter, ESPN
Schefter reports that the Saints are unlikely to draft Dart at No. 9, however. If they take Dart, it would probably be at No. 40 or trading up from there.
Giants GM Joe Schoen has “lived in Boulder,” but there might not be consensus within the building to draft Shedeur Sanders. – Adam Schefter, ESPN
The Giants have conducted countless meetings and workouts with Sanders, but they aren’t sold enough on him to draft him at No. 3. They could trade up from No. 34, but it doesn’t sound like they’re enthusiastic about doing so, likely because both the head coach and general manager are likely to be fired after 2025.
NFL Rumors – April 20 Updates:
Team sources believe Jalon Walker to the Panthers is a lock. – Charlie Campbell, WalterFootball.com
This, however, would require for Walker to be available. The Jaguars could draft him at No. 5. Either way, Walker is a top-eight lock.
The Steelers won’t draft Jalen Milroe in the first three rounds. – Mike DeFabo, The Athletic
There’s speculation that Pittsburgh likes Milroe, but DeFabo has poured cold water on that rumor, citing that the Steelers wouldn’t even draft Milroe in the third round.
NFL Rumors – April 18 Updates:
The Texans have nailed down their selection to Tyler Booker or Kelvin Banks. – Daniel Jeremiah, NFL Network
Both make a ton of sense. The problem is that there’s a good chance that neither will be available.
Shedeur Sanders’ meeting with the Steelers did not go well. – Aaron Wilson, NBC Houston
Uh oh. Sanders said that a team would have to move ahead of Pittsburgh to draft him, but that apparently may not be the case.
The Texans are expected to add a speed back in the 2025 NFL Draft. – Aaron Wilson, NBC Houston
Joe Mixon is still great, but the Texans don’t have anything behind him.
The Texans are expected to add receivers in the 2025 NFL Draft. – DJ Bien-Aime, ESPN
Yeah, no s**t.
If the Saints draft a quarterback, it’ll be with the 40th pick rather than the ninth. – Nick Underhill, New Orleans Football
This makes way more sense than reaching for a quarterback at No. 9.
The Steelers like Shedeur Sanders, but view drafting a defensive tackle to be the priority. – Gerry Dulac, Pittsburgh Post-Gazette
So, a defensive tackle is more important than a quarterback, apparently. According to Dulac, the Steelers are “spooked” by the Kenny Pickett selection. This is obvious, but it’s silly to pass on a quarterback because another one at the position failed. With this thinking, the Redskins should have passed on Jayden Daniels because the late Dwayne Haskins busted.
The Dolphins are considered a team that will draft a quarterback on Day 2. – Jonathan Jones, CBS
Given that Tua Tagovailoa is one concussion away from his career being over, it makes sense for Miami to get a better backup and an insurance policy.
NFL Rumors – April 17 Updates:
Many around the league believe that the Raiders have fallen in love with Ashton Jeanty. – Jonathan Jones, CBS
Keep in mind that this is not coming from a direct Raiders source. However, Jones writes that many believe it’s a “foregone conclusion” that the Raiders will draft Jeanty at No. 6.
NFL Rumors – April 16 Updates:
Bhayshul Tuten discussed the interest the Redskins have in him. –
Tuten said that he had multiple meetings with the coaches, as well as a virtual meeting. The Redskins want to draft a running back.
“From what I’ve been told, Emeka Egbuka doesn’t get past the Texans at 25.” – Tony Pauline, Sportskeeda
I would have thought that Josh Conerly would be the preferred prospect, but Egbuka makes sense for Houston as well.
NFL Rumors – April 13 Updates:
“People I’ve spoken with think it’s going to be Grey Zabel.” – Tony Pauline, Sportskeeda
Pauline notes that Zabel is a John Schneider-type pick. Zabel is -1000 to go in the first round.
The Titans have become sold on Cam Ward. – Terry McCormick, Titans Insider
They became sold on him at the combine, according to McCormick. Tennessee was reportedly blown away by Ward’s alpha personality, knowledge of the game, and understanding of the position. If you’re looking to bet it as well, here’s a link to betting apps for the NFL Draft.
Shedeur Sanders warned other teams that they better not let him fall to the Steelers. –
Apparently, Sanders’ visit to Pittsburgh went quite well. Then again, Sanders could be talking himself up to generate interest from teams.
Deion Sanders doesn’t want his son drafted by the Browns. – Louis Riddick, ESPN
So much for the Browns drafting Sanders in the 20s like they did with Brady Quinn. It’s hard to blame Deion for thinking this, given how dysfunctional Cleveland’s organization is.
All signs point to the Titans drafting Cam Ward No. 1 overall. – Dianna Marie Russini, The Athletic
Russini is right; it would be shocking to see anything otherwise.
NFL Rumors – April 11 Updates:
The Raiders and Saints really like Quinn Ewers. – Tony Pauline, Sportskeeda
Pauline notes that they will target him in Round 2, so don’t expect to see a surprise Ewers selection on Thursday.
Rumors are running rampant that the Steelers will draft Jalen Milroe No. 21 overall. – Tony Pauline, Sportskeeda
Pauline noted that he couldn’t confirm those rumors. Will the Steelers really reach for another quarterback in the middle of the first round?
Abdul Carter posted an “LT” picture following his visit with the Giants. – Patricia Traina, Sports Illustrated
I guess his visit went well. Carter is likely to be drafted by the Browns or Giants.
The Redskins would like to draft an every-down back. – John Keim, ESPN
They can do so at No. 29, given that it’s close enough to the second round. Brian Robinson and Austin Ekeler are both in the final years of their contracts.
NFL Rumors – April 7 Updates:
New Orleans and Pittsburgh are the most plausible destinations for Shedeur Sanders. – Adam Schefter, ESPN
Schefter also noted that the Browns and Giants could trade up into the end of the first round to draft Sanders. Either way, it looks like Sanders is in for a draft-day slide.
“I’m hearing more and more about Travis Hunter going to Cleveland.” – Todd McShay, Ringer
Adam Schefter said the same, but after McShay did.
The Titans have canceled workouts with Shedeur Sanders and Travis Hunter. – Todd McShay, Ringer
McShay says it’s “all but official” that the Titans draft Cam Ward first overall.
The Bengals are expected to draft an edge rusher at No. 17 and then trade Trey Hendrickson. – Tony Pauline, Sportskeeda
Pauline notes that this assumes that a viable edge rusher falls to the Bengals at No. 17.
The Giants are doing lots of work on running backs ahead of the 2025 NFL Draft. – Art Stapleton, USA Today
It would be shocking to see the Giants draft Ashton Jeanty at No. 3 – and they wouldn’t need to do much homework if that was the plan, anyway – so it’s more likely that the Giants will draft a running back in Rounds 2-5.
NFL Rumors – April 5 Updates:
Travis Hunter is the more-likely pick at No. 2. – Adam Schefter, ESPN
Schefter initially said that the Browns would likely draft a quarterback, then changed his tune to favoring Abdul Carter at No. 2. Schefter has now pivoted to Hunter.
NFL Rumors – April 4 Updates:
Aaron Rodgers doesn’t really want to play for the Steelers. – Mike Florio, Pro Football Talk
Mike Florio makes lots of stuff up – he once reported that Terry Bradshaw had passed away – so he’s difficult to trust. However, if this is true, it would explain why Rodgers hasn’t signed in Pittsburgh yet.
The Giants will not conduct a private workout with Shedeur Sanders in Boulder. – Paul Schwartz, New York Post
There’s always a chance this is a smokescreen, but who are the Giants trying to fool, exactly? They can still set up a private workout with Sanders later, but it’s worth noting that they won’t be doing so in Boulder.
NFL Rumors – March 31 Updates:
Browns ownership has stated that the team will not force a quarterback at No. 2 overall. –
This strategy caused the Browns to miss out on Patrick Mahomes and Carson Wentz, who was great prior to his concussion. Shedeur Sanders could easily be added to the list.
NFL Rumors – March 29 Updates:
The Jaguars are showing a lot of interest in Warren Brinson. – Tony Pauline, Sportskeeda
The Georgia defensive tackle figures to be chosen between the fourth and sixth rounds, so if the Jaguars really like him, they can obtain him early on Day 3.
The Jets, Bears, and Colts are three teams Tyler Warren is focusing on impressing in the pre-draft process, but the Saints, Chargers, and Rams have joined the mix. – Tony Pauline, Sportskeeda
Warren projects to be a top-20 pick, and he could even sneak into the top 10, given the lack of first-round talent in this class.
The interest the Steelers have in Emeka Egbuka is real. – Tony Pauline, Sportskeeda
Pittsburgh often uses second-day picks on receivers, but there’s no way Egbuka will be available to them at No. 83. The Steelers could trade down a bit and get Egbuka.
NFL Rumors – March 28 Updates:
Landon Jackson said the Bills and Redskins have shown the most interest in him. –
He emphasized that he has spoken to the Bills eight times. Both Buffalo and Washington could use Jackson to bolster their defensive line.
NFL Rumors – March 27 Updates:
The Packers are showing the most interest in Princely Umanmielen. – Jordan Reid, ESPN
This makes sense, given Green Bay’s mediocre pressure rate from 2024.
NFL Rumors – March 26 Updates:
Abdul Carter is the likely pick for the Browns. – Adam Schefter, ESPN
The tank for Arch Manning begins. A month ago, Schefter was adamant that the Browns would draft a quarterback at No. 2 overall, but it now appears as though Cleveland will go with Kenny Pickett as its starting quarterback.
NFL Rumors – March 24 Updates:
The Giants still may select Shedeur Sanders at No. 3 even after signing Russell Wilson. – Adam Schefter, ESPN
Wilson is a decrepit 37-year-old quarterback, so there’s no reason this signing should have any bearing on anything.
NFL Rumors – March 23 Updates:
The Raiders are expected to draft a quarterback to compete with Aidan O’Connell for the backup job. – Vic Tafur, The Athletic
Geno Smith is 35, so the Raiders need a quarterback for the future. The Raiders will likely draft a quarterback in Rounds 3-5.
NFL Rumors – March 20 Updates:
The Cowboys have a second-round grade on Demetrius Knight. – Tony Pauline, Sportskeeda
The South Carolina linebacker will be in play for Dallas at No. 44, given the need at the position. The Cowboys met with Knight at the South Carolina pro day.
NFL Rumors – March 19 Updates:
The Giants had a presence at every Colorado game this year. – Daniel Jeremiah, NFL Network
That would obviously indicate interest in Shedeur Sanders and/or Travis Hunter, but it seems unlikely for a team to send personnel to every game involving a non-quarterback.
Stefon Diggs will be meeting with the Patriots. – Chad Graff, The Athletic
I’m sure there were many Patriot fans who pined for Diggs when he was dominating on Buffalo’s roster. This current Diggs is not nearly the same player, given that he’s in his 30s and is coming off a torn ACL.
The Titans are comfortable drafting Cam Ward first overall. – Jeremy Fowler, ESPN
This could either be truthful, or it could be a ploy to get the Browns, Giants, or another team to increase their bid for the pick. The only quarterbacks on Tennessee’s roster right now are Will Levis and Brandon Allen.
The Vikings have interest in Tyler Lockett. – Darren Wolfson, Five Eyewitness News
I thought the Raiders might obtain Lockett, but the Vikings would like to get a better third receiver, apparently. Lockett would be able to contribute for just one year.
The Steelers have interest in Jaxson Dart and Will Howard. – Gerry Dulac, Pittsburgh Post-Gazette
One will be available much later than the other. It’s worth noting that the Steelers met with Jalen Milroe at his pro day.
NFL Rumors – March 18 Updates:
The Jets will look to take a quarterback on Day 2 of the NFL Draft. – Tony Pauline, Sportskeeda
This makes sense, assuming that Shedeur Sanders doesn’t fall to the Jets at No. 7.
NFL Rumors – March 17 Updates:
The 49ers will draft a running back at some point in the 2025 NFL Draft. – Matt Barrows, The Athletic
This is what Kyle Shanahan likes to do, after all. It makes more sense this year, with Jordan Mason and Elijah Mitchell gone, and Christian McCaffrey coming off injury.
The Raiders could target Stefon Diggs. – Ryan McFadden, ESPN
Diggs would potentially fill the need for a No. 1 receiver, but this would require him to recover from his torn ACL.
The Browns’ desperation may have them move up to No. 1. – Zac Jackson, The Athletic
This would require the Titans to not want Cam Ward, who is still a very strong possibility for them.
NFL Rumors – March 14 Updates:
Jameis Winston is visiting the Giants. – Tom Pelissero, NFL Network
This won’t preclude the Giants from drafting, or even trading up for Cam Ward or Shedeur Sanders. Winston to Malik Nabers would be fun though.
The Cowboys are showing a lot of interest in Tyreem Powell. – Tony Pauline, Sportskeeda
The Rutgers product could help at linebacker for Dallas. He projects to be a mid-round draft choice.
Teven Jenkins will be visiting the Seahawks. – Adam Schefter, ESPN
Jenkins is the best interior offensive lineman still available, so he would be a great addition for a team that is sorely lacking in that area.
Dallas is not the likely landing spot for Cooper Kupp. – Adam Schefter, ESPN
There were earlier reports suggesting that the Cowboys were going hard after Kupp. This appears to be more misinformation coming from an agent, who, in fairness, is just doing his job.
Rondale Moore is visiting Minnesota. – Adam Schefter, ESPN
Perhaps to take a trip to the Mall of America. There’s no reason the Vikings should be interested in him.
NFL Rumors – March 13 Updates:
The Vikings are seriously considering the possibility of adding Aaron Rodgers. – Dianna Marie Russini, The Athletic
This would only make sense if J.J. McCarthy were behind in his ACL recovery. Rodgers, however, should play better in 2025 than he did in 2024 because he is another year removed from a torn Achilles.
NFL Rumors – March 12 Updates:
The Jaguars, Saints, and Seahawks are in the mix for Cooper Kupp. – Mike Garafolo, NFL Network
If true, they must not have watched him play late last season. This also could be Kupp’s agent trying to stir things up for his client. Kupp shouldn’t get anything more than a couple of million for 2025.
Russell Wilson is scheduled to visit the Browns and then the Giants. – Adam Schefter, ESPN
It’s unclear why anyone would want Wilson, aside from tanking ramifications. Signing him would not preclude any team from drafting a quarterback.
NFL Rumors – March 10 Updates:
Cam Ward is still in play for the Titans. – Charles Robinson, Yahoo!
Ward will likely be the quarterback if the Titans don’t land Aaron Rodgers, given that they have no other options.
The Titans are interested in Russell Wilson. – Connor Hughes, SNY
It’s not clear why, but the smart money is on Aaron Rodgers signing with Tennessee.
Evan Engram is visiting the Broncos. – Adam Schefter, ESPN
Sean Payton is looking for his next Jimmy Graham. He would be wise not to overpay for Engram, however, given how talented the tight end class is this year.
Mike Tomlin and Aaron Rodgers are expected to explore a union. – Adam Schefter, ESPN
Rodgers might be the best one-year option on the market, which says a lot about how weak this free agent quarterback class is.
NFL Rumors – March 9 Updates:
The Eagles are hoping for a fourth-round pick for Dallas Goedert. – Josina Anderson, ESPN
Goedert is a talented tight end, but he’s also an injury-prone player heading into the final year of his contract.
The Seahawks will talk to Aaron Rodgers. – Dianna Marie Russini, The Athletic
About either joining the team or what mushrooms they should ingest in the desert. Rodgers would be an OK one-year solution as Seattle presumably adds a quarterback in the first two rounds of the draft.
The Steelers are making an offer to Sam Darnold. – Dianna Marie Russini, The Athletic
Adding D.K. Metcalf surely makes Pittsburgh much more appealing to Darnold.
The Redskins are showing interest in trading for Trey Hendrickson. – Dianna Marie Russini, The Athletic
Myles Garrett is not available anymore, so Hendrickson would be the next option to bolster Washington’s mediocre pass rush.
The 49ers are having discussions with Joey Bosa. – Tim Kawikami, SFStandard.com
It would be cool to see the Bosa brothers together. The 49ers have a very soft schedule, so a Bosa addition would help them make a deep playoff push.
NFL Rumors – March 7 Updates:
The Giants have been in on Russell Wilson. – Jordan Schultz, Schultz Report
This will serve one of two purposes. If the Giants can trade up for Cam Ward, Wilson will be a veteran insurance policy. If the Giants can’t get Ward, then Wilson will allow them to tank for the No. 1 pick in the 2026 NFL Draft.
The Jets are most interested in Justin Fields. – Jordan Schultz, Schultz Report
Fields gives the Jets another shot at a 2021 NFL Draft quarterback. He’s a nice option for the Jets because he’ll either live up to his potential or allow the Jets to have a shot at Arch Manning.
The Cardinals have inquired about Trey Hendrickson. – Johnny Venerable, PHNX Sports
The Cardinals haven’t possessed a great pass rush since J.J. Watt and Chandler Jones were on their front line. Hendrickson would obviously change that.
The 49ers are expected to target Jonathan Allen. – Eric Branch, San Francisco Chronicle
This makes sense, as defensive tackle is a big need. Allen is coming off a down year, but is still young enough to rebound.
The Seahawks are targeting Sam Darnold as a replacement for Geno Smith. – Dianna Marie Russini, The Athletic
If true, the Seahawks won’t be getting much of an upgrade, given that Kevin O’Connell won’t be a package deal with Darnold. Still, Darnold is much younger and offers more upside. The smart money seems to be on Seattle drafting a quarterback at some point.
The Raiders are exploring the possibility of trading for a quarterback. – Dianna Marie Russini, The Athletic
My money would be on Geno Smith, who would be able to reunite with Pete Carroll and serve as a short-term solution.
The Patriots are expected to be the frontrunners for Chris Godwin. – Mike Giardi, Boston Sports Journal
I would consider the Jaguars the frontrunner for Godwin because of the connection with Liam Coen, but New England has the most cap space.
The Falcons and Redskins have been monitoring the Trey Hendrickson trade situation. – Jordan Schultz, Schultz Report
Both could use a talented edge rusher to take their defense to the next level. The Redskins are the favorites to land Myles Garrett, but Hendrickson would be a fine consolation prize.
NFL Rumors – March 4 Updates:
Most of the league expects the Titans to trade out of the first pick. – Turron Davenport, ESPN
Meanwhile, the Giants seem eager to trade up for Cam Ward. It wouldn’t be a surprise to see this occur as soon as the Titans land a top-end free agent quarterback like Sam Darnold or Aaron Rodgers.
The Steelers are likely to keep Justin Fields over Russell Wilson. – Ian Rapoport, NFL Network
…then why did they start Wilson in the second half of the season? Either way, the Steelers must explore drafting a quarterback at some point in the first three rounds.
The Saints could take Shedeur Sanders at No. 9. – Zack Rosenblatt, The Athletic
Sanders would have to get by a bunch of teams, but he makes sense for a franchise that desperately needs to start over.
NFL Rumors – March 3 Updates:
The Giants are likely to trade for the top pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. – Jordan Ranaan, ESPN
Ranaan then said that Cam Ward would be the selection, which confirms what Charlie Campbell reported about the Giants liking Ward more than Shedeur Sanders. The Giants could just tank for Arch Manning, but as the Jets discovered in 2020 when they missed out on Trevor Lawrence, there’s no guarantee this would work.
The Seahawks want to draft a quarterback, but won’t force the issue. – Michael-Shawn Dugar, The Athletic
How many reporters does the Athletic have? Doesn’t seem sustainable. At any rate, the Seahawks will have to trade some major resources to move up for either of the top two quarterbacks, so it’ll be interesting to see if they pull the trigger at No. 18.
The two most-likely landing spots for Sam Darnold are the Raiders and Giants. – Alec Lewis, The Athletic
Teams in pursuit of Darnold will need to remember that Darnold won’t come pre-packaged with Kevin O’Connell. Darnold had a strong 2024, but he’s likely to regress this season.
NFL Rumors – March 2 Updates:
It doesn’t sound like DK Metcalf will be available via trade. – Jeff Howe, The Athletic
Metcalf has been projected to be traded to various teams, including the Buccaneers and Steelers. Apparently, he’s not going anywhere.
The Patriots could address the trenches on Day 2. – Charlie Campbell, WalterFootball.com
New England is looking at either Travis Hunter or Abdul Carter with the fourth pick, unless both are off the board, and in that case, a likely trade occurs.
The Jaguars really like Kelvin Banks and have some interest in Will Campbell. – Charlie Campbell, WalterFootball.com
It remains to be seen what they think of Campbell’s short arms, but it sounds like Banks is in play for Jacksonville at No. 5.
The Cardinals are expected to target the trenches or a cornerback in the first round. – Charlie Campbell, WalterFootball.com
Charlie noted that right tackle is an issue with Jonah Williams struggling to stay healthy. Defensive line and cornerback are obvious needs.
The Falcons have interest in trading the 15th-overall pick. – Dan Graziano, ESPN
That can’t be a surprise. Teams often love the idea of trading down. The Falcons, however, really need an edge rusher, so they may have to move up for one.
The Giants and Jets would be most interested in moving up in the 2025 NFL Draft. – Dan Graziano, ESPN
The Giants may have to leap over the Browns to get the quarterback they want. The Jets, meanwhile, need to do a lot of work because the Patriots are unlikely to trade with them.
Russell Wilson considers the Giants an option. – Jeremy Fowler, ESPN
Wilson is a perfect option for the Giants because that would allow them to tank for Archie Manning.
Daniel Jones and Jacoby Brissett is on Indianapolis’ radar. – Jeremy Fowler, ESPN
Though Jones is younger and has more upside, Brissett would make more sense as someone who could steady the ship if/when Anthony Richardson is benched again.
The Jets are likely to pair Tyrod Taylor with a second-tier free agent quarterback before using a Day 2 pick on a quarterback. – Connor Hughes, SNY
Hughes notes that trading up in the first round is possible, though that is tricky because the Patriots control the fourth pick and likely wouldn’t trade with the Jets.
The Jets have interest in Tim Patrick. – Connor Hughes, SNY
Patrick is a solid receiver and could be a decent short-term No. 2.
Daniel Jones, Kirk Cousins, and Carson Wentz are on the Browns’ radar. – Jeremy Fowler, ESPN
If signed, one of these three will be a bridge quarterback for either Cam Ward or Shedeur Sanders. Jones seems like the best option because he’s still a young quarterback and has the most upside.
NFL Rumors – March 1 Updates:
The Browns are very “dug in” on keeping Myles Garrett. – Jeremy Fowler, ESPN
Garrett, meanwhile, said that he’s not returning. This seems like a ploy for Cleveland to obtain some leverage in a potential trade. The Browns are $30 million over the cap, and Garrett doesn’t want to be on the team anymore, so a trade seems likely.
The Raiders aren’t high on Sam Darnold or any of the other free agent quarterbacks. – Vic Tafur, The Athletic
Now that Matthew Stafford is off the market, the Raiders may be more motivated to go after a rookie quarterback. Darnold won’t come with Kevin O’Connell in a two-for-one special, after all.
The Raiders came away impressed with Jalen Milroe and Quinn Ewers at the combine. – Vic Tafur, The Athletic
They must have low standards. These players are candidates for the Raiders’ second-round pick this April.
Teams have expressed interest in trading for Brandon Aiyuk. – Dianna Marie Russini, The Athletic
It’s unclear why they would trade for Aiyuk this offseason. Aiyuk is coming off a torn ACL and MCL, so he’s almost certainly going to be limited and injury-prone in 2025. Any general manager interested in Aiyuk right now should play fantasy football and draft skill players coming off torn ACLs.

The Seahawks like Kelvin Banks. – Charlie Campbell, WalterFootball.com
Seattle has one of the weakest interior offensive lines in the NFL, so Banks would make a ton of sense for them. The problem is that he’s unlikely to be available at No. 18, so the Seahawks would have to trade up for him.
The Patriots like the options at No. 4 between Travis Hunter, Abdul Carter, and Will Campbell. – Charlie Campbell, WalterFootball.com

Florio, who has Aaron Rodgers Derangement Syndrome, notes that Rodgers wants to play for a contender. The Rams obviously qualify, and Rodgers would be a cheap option if Matthew Stafford were to be traded.
