This 2025 NBA Mock Draft is updated Tuesday, May 13, 2025. Follow me @walterfootball for updates.
1.
Dallas Mavericks: Cooper Flagg, PF, Duke
Rumors are circulating that Adam Silver promised the Mavericks the No. 1 overall pick if they put Luka Doncic on the Lakers. It makes sense, as that trade was illogical otherwise. We know the NBA has been rigging the lottery whenever there’s been a blue-chip player for decades, and this is another example of that. Congrats to Dallas though.

2.
San Antonio Spurs: Dylan Harper, PG, Rutgers
This is a no-brainer for the Spurs, whose starting point guard is 65-year-old Chris Paul. I worry about the Rutgers prospects because they couldn’t even take their team to the NCAA Tournament, but it seems as though Dylan Harper is the consensus No. 2.
3.
Philadelphia 76ers: VJ Edgecombe, SG, Baylor
The 76ers have a terrible roster and need everything. I’m shocked, by the way, that Adam Silver didn’t take away Philadelphia’s first-round pick, given his hatred of the team.
4.
Charlotte Hornets: Tre Johnson, SG, Texas
Josh Green is a colossal bum and needs to be upgraded. There are a number of players who could go No. 4, but Tre Johnson fills the biggest need.
5.
Utah Jazz: Ace Bailey, SF, Rutgers
The poor Jazz caught a stray from Adam Silver’s rigging. Not only did they lose out on Cooper Flagg; they also got kicked out of the top four. As a consolation prize, they get a prospect who couldn’t even get his team to the NCAA Tournament.
6.
Washington Bullets: Jeremiah Fears, G, Oklahoma
I can tell you that the Bullets desperately need a point guard, but they desperately need everything except for a center. They should be trying to obtain the best player available, and that seems like Jeremiah Fears.
7.
New Orleans Pelicans: Kon Knueppel, SF, Duke
Here’s another Rutgers player who should be regarded with some skepticism. The Pelicans don’t have a true three though, so they could be interested in Ace Bailey.
8.
Brooklyn Nets: Egor Demin, SG/SF, BYU
The Nets have one of the worst backcourts in the NBA, so they should concentrate on finding the best guard available.
9.
Toronto Raptors: Noa Essengue, F, France
The Raptors have nothing at small forward, so they could stand to benefit from a prospect like this being available at No. 9.
10.
Houston Rockets: Rasheer Fleming, F, St. Joseph’s
The Rockets need an offensive scoring boost, particularly one who can come through in the clutch. Rasheer Fleming’s great three-point shooting has to intrigue Houston a little bit.
11.
Portland Trailblazers: Derik Queen, PF, Maryland
The Trailblazers have a couple of talented centers, but they don’t possess much at the four. There should be several prospects available in this range who can help fill that need.
12.
Chicago Bulls: Nique Clifford, SG, Colorado State
The Bulls will need to find a wing to find some competition for Kevin Huerter.
13.
Atlanta Hawks: Thomas Sorber, C, Georgetown
Clint Capela missed a chunk of the season, but the Hawks needed help in their frontcourt anyhow.
14.
San Antonio Spurs: Khaman Maluach, C, Duke
The Spurs could aim to have a twin-towers look like the Thunder employs with Chet Holmgren and Isaiah Hartenstein.
15.
Oklahoma City Thunder: Asa Newell, PF, Georgia
What do you get the team that already has everything? More depth, of course. This prospect can add some more three-point shooting off the bench.
