Rather than quickly listing start em and sit em players on my Week 12 NFL Picks page, I thought I’d devote a page for this. Follow @walterfootball for updates.







Pittsburgh Steelers (8-2) at Cleveland Browns (2-8)

Start Em:
  • Cedric Tillman, WR, Browns
    Cedric Tillman looks like the real deal.

  • Obvious Starts:
    PIT: RB Najee Harris, WR George Pickens, Steelers Defense.
    CLE: TE David Njoku.

    Sit Em:
  • Mike Williams, WR, Steelers
    Everyone saw Mike Williams catch a touchdown, but he’s not a full-time player yet.






    Detroit Lions (9-1) at Indianapolis Colts (5-6)

    Start Em:
  • Jameson Williams, WR, Lions
    Jameson Williams stands to benefit if Sam LaPorta is sidelined.

  • Obvious Starts:
    DET: RB Jahmyr Gibbs, WR David Montgomery, WR Amon-Ra St. Brown.
    IND: RB Jonathan Taylor, WR Josh Downs.

    Sit Em:
  • Michael Pittman Jr., WR, Colts
    Michael Pittman Jr. is not 100 percent with his back injury.

    Kansas City Chiefs (9-1) at Carolina Panthers (3-7)

    Start Em:
  • Patrick Mahomes, QB, Chiefs
    Patrick Mahomes should bounce back well off a loss, especially against Carolina.

  • Ja’Tavion Sanders, TE, Panthers
    The Chiefs really struggle against tight ends.

  • Obvious Starts:
    KC: RB Kareem Hunt, WR DeAndre Hopkins, TE Travis Kelce.
    CAR: None.

    Sit Em:
  • Chuba Hubbard, RB, Panthers
    It’s very difficult to run on the Chiefs.

  • Xavier Legette, WR, Panthers
    Steve Spagnuolo tends to double team the opposing top option.

    Minnesota Vikings (8-2) at Chicago Bears (4-6)

    Start Em:
  • Obvious Starts:
    MIN: RB Aaron Jones, WR Justin Jefferson, Vikings Defense.
    CHI: RB D’Andre Swift, WR D.J. Moore, TE Cole Kmet.

    Sit Em:
  • Sam Darnold, QB, Vikings
    It’s tough to trust Sam Darnold now.

  • Keenan Allen, WR, Bears
    I would continue to fade Keenan Allen after his two touchdowns recently.

    Dallas Cowboys (3-6) at Washington Redskins (7-4)

  • Obvious Starts:
    DAL: WR CeeDee Lamb.
    WAS: QB Jayden Daniels, RB Brian Robinson, WR Terry McLaurin.

    Sit Em:
  • Rico Dowdle, RB, Cowboys
    Rico Dowdle could be OK in PPR leagues, but he’s tough to use in standard because Dallas figures to be down so much.

  • Bucky Irving, RB, Giants
    The Giants have one of the worst run defenses in the NFL.

  • Obvious Starts:
    TB: QB Baker Mayfield, RB Rachaad White (PPR), WR Mike Evans, TE Cade Otton.
    NYG: WR Malik Nabers.

    Sit Em:
  • Tyrone Tracy, RB, Giants
    It’s very difficult to run on the Buccaneers.

    Jaylen Waddle can’t be trusted until further notice.

    Calvin Ridley continues to do more with DeAndre Hopkins gone.
