  1. San Diego Chargers: Ereck Flowers, OT, Miami
I’d say San Diego’s No. 1 priority is protecting Philip Rivers, but there have been rumors that the front office could trade Rivers if it can somehow land Marcus Mariota. That could happen, and if it does, the Chargers’ top priority would be finding adequate blocking for Mariota.

Offensive tackle is definitely in play at No. 17, as the Ereck Flowers selection would mean that one of King Dunlap or D.J. Fluker would move inside (probably the former).

    *** OTHER 2015 NFL DRAFT POSSIBILITIES: ***

    1. Todd Gurley, RB – This is probably the latest Gurley will fall. We’ve spoken to a team that views Gurley as the next Jim Brown, so it’s difficult to imagine him falling past No. 17.

    2. Other Tackles – All of the other tackles, including La’el Collins and D.J. Humphries, are in play here.

    Follow @walterfootball for updates.

Pick change; previously Andrus Peat, OT

  2. Kansas City Chiefs: La’el Collins, G/OT, LSU
The Chiefs had pass protection issues this past season – only six teams surrendered more sacks – and I doubt Andy Reid will pass on an offensive lineman in the first couple of rounds. Reid loves drafting linemen, and he’s getting La’el Collins, who could easily go as high as No. 10.

    *** OTHER 2015 NFL DRAFT POSSIBILITIES: ***

    1. Other Tackles – As with the Chargers, the Chiefs could select one of many tackles with their first-round choice.

    2. Kevin Johnson, CB – Johnson has been shooting up draft boards recently, and he could be picked here. The Chiefs could address the cornerback position.

  3. Cleveland Browns: D.J. Humphries, OT/G, Florida
The Browns have expressed a desire to fortify their offensive and defensive lines, so they can take care of the former with this selection. The front office wanted to upgrade Mitchell Schwartz last year, with plans to move him inside. Here’s a potential new starter in D.J. Humphries, who has generated a ton of buzz lately.

    *** OTHER 2015 NFL DRAFT POSSIBILITIES: ***

    1. Other Tackles – Once again, there are tons of tackles available in this area, and these teams really could take any of them.

    2. Arik Armstead, DE/DT – This spot makes sense for Armstead, who might be one of the better players available. He would fill a big need on the defensive line.

  4. Philadelphia Eagles: Byron Jones, CB, Connecticut
The Eagles are obviously looking for a cornerback to help their putrid secondary. They signed Byron Maxwell, but they still need one more upgrade at the position.

The most athletic player in the entire 2015 NFL Draft per the SPARQ formula, Byron Jones will undoubtedly interest the Eagles, who would love to land a cornerback like him. And yes, Jones could go this early. He already had good tape, so he’s not just a workout warrior. The athleticism he displayed at the NFL Combine could push him into Thursday.

    *** OTHER 2015 NFL DRAFT POSSIBILITIES: ***

    1. Nelson Agholor, WR – I mocked Agholor here last week. The Eagles have shown a ton of interest in him.

    2. Jaelen Strong, WR – Strong is another receiver Philadelphia could choose in the first round.

Pick change; previously Nelson Agholor, WR

  5. Cincinnati Bengals: Dorial Green-Beckham, WR, Oklahoma
The Bengals don’t always draft players with character issues; in fact, they haven’t done that recently. However, they haven’t been reluctant to take troubled players in the past, and given that they’re incapable of getting out of the first round, perhaps they’ll take a chance on this sort of mega talent.

Dorial Green-Beckham would be a top-10 lock if he happened to be clean off the field. He would be a terrific No. 2 target for Andy Dalton, and he would definitely draw attention away from A.J. Green.

    *** OTHER 2015 NFL DRAFT POSSIBILITIES: ***

    1. Randy Gregory, DE/OLB – I’ve listed Gregory here in recent updates. He makes sense as the best player available and someone who could bolster the pass rush.

    2. Jordan Phillips, Malcom Brown or Eddie Goldman, DTs – I expect the Bengals to draft a defensive tackle early on. I have them taking one in the second round, but it’s possible they could pick one in the first frame.

  6. Pittsburgh Steelers: Randy Gregory, DE/OLB, Nebraska
It always seems like a talented prospect falls to the Steelers every April, and that could be Randy Gregory this year. Pittsburgh is usually reluctant to select a conversion player in the first round, but Gregory is too talented for the front office not to consider him. He would also fill a huge need as an edge rusher, as the Steelers desperately need to improve their ability to get to the quarterback.

Some of Gregory’s issues are documented. He tested positive for marijuana at the NFL Combine and then reportedly showed up below 230 pounds on some of his pre-draft visits. There are even more dire issues that haven’t been brought to the public’s attention yet. However, the Steelers took another troubled player from the Big Ten a few years ago when they spent a second-round pick on Mike Adams. They checked Adams out, and they were content with what they saw. Perhaps history will repeat itself.

    *** OTHER 2015 NFL DRAFT POSSIBILITIES: ***

    1. Kevin Johnson, CB – The Steelers haven’t selected a cornerback in the first round in a very long time, but the trend could break this year because they desperately need one. Kevin Johnson would fit perfectly into their defense.

    2. Landon Collins, S – I listed Collins here for a long time. I still think he’s an option with Troy Polamalu gone.

  7. Detroit Lions: Melvin Gordon, RB, Wisconsin
Reggie Bush was released earlier in the offseason, so the Lions will need to find someone to split the load with Joique Bell. Detroit’s front office typically likes picking the top player available, and Melvin Gordon could fit that description, as he has drawn comparisons to Jamaal Charles.

    *** OTHER 2015 NFL DRAFT POSSIBILITIES: ***

    1. Malcom Brown, DT – I was very close to mocking Brown to the Lions. It’s close to 50-50 for me between him and Gordon.

    2. D.J. Humphries, OT – OK, maybe 34-33-33. Humphries is a strong option here as well; the Lions have to upgrade the right tackle position.

  8. Arizona Cardinals: Malcom Brown, DE/DT, Texas
The Cardinals have lost a number of talented defensive players over the past couple of years. One is Darnell Dockett, who signed with the rival 49ers. Arizona has brought in Cory Redding, but the former Colt is 34, so the front office has to find a five-technique for the long haul.

    *** OTHER 2015 NFL DRAFT POSSIBILITIES: ***

    1. Kevin Johnson or Byron Jones, CB – The Cardinals want a tall cornerback early in the draft to replace Antonio Cromartie, so either of these two make sense. However, neither is available in this update.

    2. Melvin Gordon, RB – Here’s another landing spot for Gordon, who could take over as Arizona’s lead back.

Pick change; previously Arik Armstead, DE/DT

  9. Carolina Panthers: Shaq Thompson, LB/S, Washington
Shaq Thompson told the media that he has received the most interest from the Panthers. That could mean nothing – or it could mean everything. Carolina’s biggest needs are at receiver and tackle, but the team could select the top prospect available to fill a lesser hole. The Panthers definitely need to find a third linebacker (or a strong safety) and perhaps some insurance for Thomas Davis, a 32-year-old heading into his contract season.

    *** OTHER 2015 NFL DRAFT POSSIBILITIES: ***

    1. Offensive Tackle – The Panthers are another team in the back half of the first round that could select any of the tackles. It’s currently unclear which one they’d prefer.

    2. Breshad Perriman or Jaelen Strong, WRs – Carolina could also select a wideout at No. 25 overall. The team desperately needs someone across from Kelvin Benjamin.

  10. Baltimore Ravens: Breshad Perriman, WR, Central Florida
The Ravens will be looking for an offensive weapon with one of their first couple of draft picks. The receiver position needs help; Torrey Smith has signed elsewhere, while Steve Smith, who turns 36 in May, won’t be around for very long.

    *** OTHER 2015 NFL DRAFT POSSIBILITIES: ***

    1. Melvin Gordon, RB – I think Gordon will be the pick if he makes to the Ravens. It’s a bit of a long shot that he’ll be here, however.

    2. Malcom Brown or Eddie Goldman, DE/DT – The Ravens lost Haloti Ngata, so Baltimore could look to find a replacement early in the 2015 NFL Draft.

  11. Dallas Cowboys: Jalen Collins, CB, LSU
The Cowboys desperately need help at cornerback. Morris Claiborne has been a huge disappointment, while Brandon Carr is extremely overpaid. Dallas could target a potential upgrade at the end of the first round.

    *** OTHER 2015 NFL DRAFT POSSIBILITIES: ***

    1. Marcus Peters or Byron Jones, CB – Here are other cornerback options for the Cowboys, who really need to get the position fixed.

    2. Melvin Gordon, RB – The Cowboys also want a talented running back to replace DeMarco Murray, but they may have to trade up for Gordon.

  12. Denver Broncos: Cameron Erving, OT/G/C, Florida State
Peyton Manning was playing on one leg to close out the season. His pass protection wasn’t very good, and it’s now worse in the wake of Orlando Franklin’s departure. The Broncos would be smart to bolster in the interior of their offensive line so that Manning isn’t banged around very much this upcoming season.

    *** OTHER 2015 NFL DRAFT POSSIBILITIES: ***

    1. Jordan Phillips, NT – The Broncos have expressed interest in Phillips, who would fill the void at nose tackle created by Terrance Knighton’s departure.

    2. Eric Kendricks, ILB – Inside linebacker is currently a problem area for Denver and its new 3-4 defense, so the top player at the position will definitely be considered.

  13. Indianapolis Colts: Landon Collins, S, Alabama
The Colts don’t exactly have the league’s best safety corps, as Dwight Lowery is just mediocre, while Mike Adams recently turned 34. They can certainly do better on the back end of their defense. Landon Collins, once projected to go in the top 10, might be seen as a steal here.

    *** OTHER 2015 NFL DRAFT POSSIBILITIES: ***

    1. Jordan Phillips, NT – Indianapolis’ nose tackle position isn’t awful, but it’s far from ideal. Phillips is definitely in the mix at No. 29.

    2. Cameron Erving, C/G/OT – I listed Erving here for a long time. He would provide a big upgrade on a shaky offensive line.

  14. Green Bay Packers: Eric Kendricks, ILB, UCLA
The Packers will be extremely fortunate if Eric Kendricks drops to them at No. 30. Kendricks, the top inside linebacker in this class by a wide margin, would fill a huge need, as he would allow Clay Matthews to play on the edge in 2015. Kendricks could be chosen by the Chiefs, Browns, Cardinals, Cowboys, Broncos and Colts, so as with Ryan Shazier last year, Green Bay could miss out on the top player who would address its biggest hole.

    *** OTHER 2015 NFL DRAFT POSSIBILITIES: ***

    1. Kevin Johnson or Byron Jones, CB – The Packers would have to move up for Johnson, but they could land Jones here. They like tall corners, and they definitely need one after losing many players at the position this offseason.

    2. Eddie Goldmam or Malcom Brown, DE/DT – Green Bay re-signed B.J. Raji and Letroy Guion, but help is still needed on the defensive line at the five-technique position.

  15. New Orleans Saints: Phillip Dorsett, WR, Miami
We’ve spoken to one team selecting in the middle of the second round that loves Phillip Dorsett, and they now believe that he won’t make it to their pick. Also, Tony Pauline reported that Sean Payton was overheard gushing about Dorsett, remarking how well the Miami receiver would fit into his offense. I wouldn’t even be surprised if he’s chosen in the top 20.

    *** OTHER 2015 NFL DRAFT POSSIBILITIES: ***

    1. Maxx Williams, TE – Williams will probably be chosen in the second round, but the Saints could target him here, given that they lost Jimmy Graham this offseason.

    2. Eli Harold, Preston Smith or Owa Odighizuwa, DE/OLB – If the Saints missed on an edge rusher at No. 13 overall, they could select one at this juncture.

  16. New England Patriots: Eddie Goldman, DT, Florida State
A receiver like Devin Smith is still in play for the Patriots, but they may have a tough time passing on a defensive tackle as talented as Eddie Goldman dropping to them at No. 32. Considering Vince Wilfork’s departure, and the fact that New England has other players at the position set to hit free agency next spring, Goldman makes a ton of sense if he’s available.

    *** OTHER 2015 NFL DRAFT POSSIBILITIES: ***

    1. Devin Smith, WR – Smith is an Urban Meyer player, so if Meyer tells Bill Belichick to draft him, the Hoodied One might just do it. It’s not like the Patriots don’t need a receiver.

    2. Ronald Darby, CB – Another Seminole makes sense here, as the Patriots lost Darrelle Revis and Brandon Browner. They obviously need help at corner.
