2020 NFL Mock Re-Draft: Round 3

Last update: Friday, April 26, 2020.
This is a 2020 NFL Mock Re-Draft of Rounds 2 and 3 for Friday evening’s NFL Draft coverage. With all of the trades that will go down, I don’t expect to get many of these right (I nailed eight in my Re-Draft Rounds 2-3 in 2018), but it’s still fun to speculate where the top prospects will go on Day 2 of the 2020 NFL Draft.

  1. Cincinnati Bengals: Prince Tega Wanogho, OT, Auburn
The Bengals have the worst linebacking corps in the NFL, so they’ll need to make multiple upgrades to that area this offseason.

Prince Tega Wanogho is an athletic tackle who could play on the blind side in the pros. He’s raw, so he’ll need to be coached up.

  2. Washington Redskins: Cole Kmet, TE, Notre Dame
The Redskins need a tight end, especially in the wake of Vernon Davis’ retirement. Cole Kmet would be a nice weapon for Dwayne Haskins.

  3. Detroit Lions: Kenny Willekes, DE, Michigan State
The Lions need some edge-rushing help outside of Trey Flowers.

  4. New York Jets: Bradley Anae, DE/OLB, Utah
The Jets have needed to address their edge rush for years, so perhaps they’ll finally do so.

Bradley Anae dominated the Senior Bowl.

  5. Carolina Panthers: Reggie Robinson, CB, Tulsa
The Panthers lost James Bradberry this offseason, so they’ll need to address cornerback at some point in the next couple of rounds.

  6. Miami Dolphins: Logan Stenberg, G, Kentucky
Here’s even more help for one of the worst offensive lines in the NFL.

Logan Stenberg looked good in the Senior Bowl to answer some questions about blocking speed rushers.

  7. New England Patriots: Terrell Lewis, DE/OLB, Alabama
Terrell Lewis was once a staple of my 2019 NFL Mock Draft, but he returned to school after an injury-plagued 2018 campaign. He’s expected to fall in the 2020 NFL Draft because he was flagged for an injury. However, Bill Belichick is friends with Nick Saban, and he may have some inside information on the talented edge rusher.

  8. Arizona Cardinals: Shane Lemieux, G, Oregon
Arizona added DeAndre Hopkins, but it still needs to improve the offense by bolstering the offensive line on a couple of occasions.

  9. Jacksonville Jaguars: Jacob Phillips, LB, LSU
The Jaguars had a miserable linebacking corps last year that must be repaired.

Jacob Phillips has been an extremely productive linebacker for LSU. The physical defender was a five-star recruit.

  10. Cleveland Browns: Cameron Dantzler, CB, Mississippi State
The Browns could use a third cornerback to go along with their two studs.

Cameron Dantzler has great size (6-2, 195) and will be a first-round pick if he runs well in pre-draft workouts.

  11. Indianapolis Colts: Yasir Durant, OT, Missouri
There’s some talk that Anthony Castonzo could retire soon, so here’s an insurance policy.

Yasir Durant has work ethic problems, but is a talented prospect.

  12. Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Kristian Fulton, CB, LSU
Tampa Bay’s secondary improved late in the year, but it still needs one more talented cornerback.

  13. Denver Broncos: Marlon Davidson, DE/DT, Auburn
The Broncos will need a defensive lineman for the long haul, as Jurrell Casey is just a short-term fix.

  14. Atlanta Falcons: Nick Coe, DE/DT, Auburn
The Falcons missed Adrian Clayborn this past season. Vic Beasley, meanwhile, has regressed. I could see Atlanta doubling up on edge players in the first couple of rounds.

  15. New York Jets: Darnay Holmes, CB, UCLA
The Jets could address cornerback much earlier than this, given how great of a need it is.

  16. Las Vegas Raiders: Laviska Shenault, WR, Colorado
It shouldn’t surprise anyone if the Raiders add two receivers early in the draft, given how much they need to address the position.

Laviska Shenault drew rave reviews during spring practices preceding the 2018 campaign, and he didn’t disappoint. The 6-foot-2 play-maker was college football’s best receiver as a mere sophomore (at least prior to his injury.) His health is a concern, and it could lead to him dropping into Round 2.

  17. Las Vegas Raiders: Solomon Kindley, G, Georgia
Richie Incognito isn’t going to play much longer, so the Raiders will need to find a potential successor, plus an immediate repalcement for Gabe Jackson, who could be traded.

Solomon Kindley has some impressive movement skills for a large interior lineman.

  18. Dallas Cowboys: Logan Wilson, LB, Wyoming
The Cowboys need a linebacker with Sean Lee nearing the end of his career.

  19. Denver Broncos: K.J. Hill, WR, Ohio State
The Broncos are still in the market for receiver help despite the Jerry Jeudy pick.

  20. Los Angeles Rams: Nick Harris, C, Washington
The Rams must bolster their offensive line, as they have the worst blocking unit in the NFL (excluding the Dolphins.)

Nick Harris is a bit undersized and lacks length, but he’s a good player who could be a third-round pick.

  21. Detroit Lions: Neville Gallimore, DT, Oklahoma
The Lions lost some defensive linemen to free agency, so perhaps they’ll use the pick they acquired from the Eagles on a replacement.

  22. Buffalo Bills: Zack Moss, RB, Utah
Frank Gore won’t be around much longer, so the Bills will need a viable backup behind Devin Singletary.

  23. New England Patriots: Jake Fromm, QB, Georgia
Jake Fromm was tremendous as a freshman for SEC champion Georgia. He struggled a bit in 2019, but he could still be a second-round pick, though it’s more likely that New England could obtain him in the third frame. Fromm seems like the sort of quarterback Bill Belichick would love to coach.

  24. New Orleans Saints: Troy Pride, CB, Notre Dame
The Saints don’t have much depth behind Marshon Lattimore and Janoris Jenkins.

Troy Pride performed very well at the combine, so he should have cemented his status as a day-two pick.

  25. Minnesota Vikings: James Lynch, DE/DT, Baylor
The Vikings replaced Linval Joseph with Michael Pierce, but they needed help next to Joseph in the first place. Perhaps they’ll address that need early in the 2020 NFL Draft.

  26. Houston Texans: Raekwon Davis, DE/DT, Alabama
The Texans need to strengthen their defensive line in case J.J. Watt misses time again.

Raekwon Davis had a dominant performance in the national championship win over Georgia to cap off his excellent 2017 season in which he logged 8.5 sacks.

  27. Las Vegas Raiders: Ashtyn Davis, S, California
The Raiders could use another pick prior to Day 3 to improve their secondary.

Pick change; previously Anfernee Jennings, LB

  28. Baltimore Ravens: Thaddeus Moss, TE, LSU
The Ravens like running two-tight end sets, but they traded Hayden Hurst this offseason.

  29. Tennessee Titans: Colby Parkinson, TE, Stanford
With Delanie Walker gone, the Titans could use a mid-round pick on a tight end so they can run a second one to go along with Jonnu Smith.

  30. Green Bay Packers: Albert Okwuegbunam, TE, Missouri
The Packers didn’t select a receiver in the 2019 NFL Draft, and they’ve paid the price. They also failed to upgrade tight end. Both areas must be bolstered this upcoming offseason.

The athletic Albert Okwuegbunan had a coming-out party against Georgia and could be the first tight end off the board in the 2020 NFL Draft.

  31. Denver Broncos: Alex Highsmith, DE, Charlotte
The Broncos are looking for edge-rushing depth behind their two studs.

  32. Kansas City Chiefs: Troy Dye, LB, Oregon
Kansas City’s linebacking corps has been a weakness ever since Derrick Johnson declined in the final stages of his career.

  33. Cleveland Browns: Anfernee Jennings, LB, Alabama
The Browns could add multiple linebackers in the 2020 NFL Draft, given their big need in that area.

  34. New England Patriots: Jason Strowbridge, DE/DT, North Carolina
The Patriots have needed some disruption in the interior of their defensive line for quite some time now.

Jason Strowbridge (and Clothier) needs to add some pass-rushing skills.

  35. New York Giants: Akeem Davis-Gaither, LB, Appalachian State
The Giants signed Blake Martinez, but they still need one more linebacker to fix their group.

  36. New England Patriots: Darrynton Evans, RB, Appalachian State
Given that Sony Michel and Damien Harris have disappointed thus far, the Patriots could use a mid-round pick on a running back.

Pick change; previously Jaylon Johnson, CB

  37. Seattle Seahawks: Devin Duvernay, WR, Texas
The Seahawks could use another receiver to go along with Tyler Lockett and D.K. Metcalf.

  38. Pittsburgh Steelers: Ke’Shawn Vaughn, RB, Vanderbilt
The Steelers were not happy with what they got out of James Conner and Benny Snell last year, so they could select a running back as early as the second round.

Ke’Shawn Vaughn has great strength to run through defenders.

  39. Philadelphia Eagles: Van Jefferson, WR, Florida
The Eagles need multiple receivers, so I expect them to draft two players at the position in the first four rounds.

Van Jefferson was one of the winners at the Senior Bowl. He runs routes well and has added value as a great special-teamer.

  40. Los Angeles Rams: Colton McKivitz, OT, West Virginia
The Rams need to spend multiple selections on offensive linemen because of how bad their blocking has become.

  41. Minnesota Vikings: Antoino Gibson, RB/WR, Memphis
The Vikings have shown interest in Antonio Gibson, who would be a versatile weapon in their offense.

  42. Baltimore Ravens: Lynn Bowden, WR/KR, Kentucky
As mentioned earlier, it’s likely that the Ravens will spend two selections to boost their receiving corps.

Kentucky was such a mess this year that Lynn Bowden, a dynamic receiver, had to switch to quarterback this past season because of all the injuries at the position.
