  1. Cleveland Browns: Dre’Mont Jones, DT, Ohio State
The Browns have a strong defensive line, but they could use an interior player who can generate a heavy pass rush and help stop the run. This would take their defensive front over the top.

Dre’Mont Jones has a first-round skill set, according to sources Charlie Campbell reached out to.

  2. Minnesota Vikings: Greg Little, OT, Ole Miss
The Vikings overpaid for Kirk Cousins, so now they have to transition from a defensive team to an offensive one. An improved offensive line will allow Cousins to survive until Week 17, when he can once again choke with a playoff bid on the line.

Greg “Mr. Reliable” Little was a five-star recruit coming out of high school. He’s an athletic left tackle who could become a top-15 pick.

  3. Tennessee Titans: A.J. Brown, WR, Ole Miss
I’d love to give the Titans an offensive lineman to make sure Marcus Mariota isn’t sacked 11 times in a game again, but Cody Ford is off the board. Here’s someone else who could help Mariota, as Tennessee has nothing at receiver outside of Corey Davis.

A.J. Brown has a tremendous athleticism, and he’s been a great weapon for Ole Miss the past couple of years despite their turmoil.

  4. Pittsburgh Steelers: Jachai Polite, DE/OLB, Florida
Bud Dupree hasn’t lived up to his first-round billing, so he could be close to being done in Pittsburgh. If the Steelers agree, they could target a dynamic edge rusher early in the 2019 NFL Draft.

Jachai Polite has a ton of upside. He didn’t do much in 2016, but he has a couple of sacks through half the season. He’s been having a strong 2018 campaign, including the LSU victory where he drew lots of double teams.

  5. Seattle Seahawks: T.J. Hockenson, TE, Iowa
The Seahawks could stand to give Russell Wilson a viable intermediate target, as Jimmy Graham has been missed.

T.J. Hockenson is considered the top all-around tight end in the 2019 NFL Draft class. He’s a very talented receiver and a skilled blocker as well.

  6. Baltimore Ravens: Josh Jacobs, RB, Alabama
The Ravens clearly need to run the ball as well as possible with Lamar Jackson as their quarterback going forward. They had a good ground game to close out the year, but struggled when playing the Chargers. They need a real, dominant back to complement Jackson.

Josh Jacobs is a power runner who can make athletic cuts. He has loads of potential, and sources Charlie Campbell has spoken to have ranted and raved about Jacobs.

  7. Houston Texans: DeAndre Baker, CB, Georgia
All of the first-round tackles are off the board, so the Texans will have to improve their offensive line elsewhere. They have other dire needs though, including cornerback.

DeAndre Baker had a terrific 2017 campaign, showing great athleticism. He was great last season as well, especially against LSU.

  8. Oakland Raiders: Greedy Williams, CB, LSU
The Raiders need help all of their defense. That includes finding a better starting cornerback to play across from Gareon Conley.

Greedy Williams had a spectacular freshman season with six interceptions. Williams has great size (6-2, 182) and quickness, and he has top-10 upside. However, he has character issues, according to a report by Charlie Campbell, so he could slip to the mid-20s.

  9. Philadelphia Eagles: Byron Murphy, CB, Washington
If you’ve watched a single game of the Eagles this past year, you know they need cornerback help. They were torched by every single quarterback they’ve played, as their secondary was an abomination sorely in need of help.

Byron Murphy is a very instinctive, ball-hawking cornerback. I’ve had him high in my 2020 NFL Mock Draft, but he declared despite being a redshirt sophomore. Murphy received second-round grades from the draft committee, but there aren’t 32 first-round-caliber prospects in this class, so Murphy could sneak into the end of Day 1.

  10. Indianapolis Colts: Jaylon Ferguson, DE, Louisiana Tech
The Colts made great strides defensively last year, but they were just 29th in adjusted sack rate. They’ll be looking to improve their pass rush.

Jaylon Ferguson had an excellent Senior Bowl, proving that he could compete with the power-five prospects. He may have moved himself into being a first-round selection.

  11. Oakland Raiders: Brian Burns, DE/OLB, Florida State
The Raiders must address their pass rush early in the 2019 NFL Draft unless they’re able to acquire some talents in free agency.

Brian Burns needs to bulk up quite a bit, as he played at 220 pounds as a freshman, but he has a long frame, so he has the potential to fill out. Some mock drafts had Burns as a top-10 pick, but sources Charlie Campbell has spoken to believe Burns is a second-round prospect (read more in the NFL Hot Press.) That said, there aren’t 32 first-round prospects in this class, so someone like Burns could sneak into the opening frame if a team likes him enough.

Pick change; previously Johnathan Abram, S

  12. Los Angeles Chargers: Devin Bush, LB, Michigan
Denzel Perryman is an impending free agent. He’ll be missed if he departs, so a replacement will be needed if that happens.

Devin Bush is an explosive linebacker who could be the second player at the position off the board in the first round, following Devin White.

  13. Kansas City Chiefs: Dexter Lawrence, DT, Clemson
The Chiefs need secondary and linebacker help, but they’re getting the best player available with this selection. Andy Reid loves to take second chances on players, so I think this makes sense.

Dexter Lawrence is a monster of a defensive tackle (6-5, 340) and is exceptional at both stuffing the run and pressuring the quarterback. He has fallen in this mock draft because of his positive drug test.

  14. Green Bay Packers: Johnathan Abram, S, Mississippi State
The Packers should go after a safety after trading away Ha Ha Clinton-Dix. They could easily select one at this juncture or in the second round.

Johnathan Abram is a forceful, physical run defender who has good coverage skills.

Pick change; previously Zach Allen, DE/DT

  15. Los Angeles Rams: Zach Allen, DE/DT, Boston College
Ndamukong Suh played well this past year, but not nearly on the level of a $20 million-per-year player. I wonder if the Rams would consider saving money and moving on from Suh if they can get one of the many talented defensive linemen in the 2019 NFL Draft. Or, perhaps the Rams will decide that 2019 will be Suh’s final year, so they’ll take a defensive lineman, mirroring what the Jaguars did when they selected Taven Bryan late in the first round in the 2018 NFL Draft.

Zach Allen needs to develop more pass-rushing moves, but he has a nice combination of size and strength, and he happens to be a stout run defender and a quality pass-rusher.

Pick change; previously Jerry Tillery, DE/DT

  16. New England Patriots: D.K. Metcalf, WR, Ole Miss
The Patriots have no receivers who can get open, save for Julian Edelman. There’s Josh Gordon as well, but the Patriots can’t rely on him moving forward. They need a better downfield threat if Tom Brady is to score more than 13 points versus a great defense.

Charlie Campbell reported that D.K. Metcalf is a love/hate prospect. Some teams believe he’ll be a top-15 pick, while others have him graded in the fourth round.
