  1. Cleveland Browns: Brian O’Neill, OT, Pittsburgh
I actually slotted Brian O’Neill to the Browns at No. 4 overall in my Senior Bowl-only mock draft. He makes sense for them, as Cleveland needs an upgrade at right tackle. O’Neill could then shift to the blind side once Joe Thomas retires.

  2. New York Giants: Ronald Jones, RB, USC
Shane Vereen is an impending free agent, so the Giants will need a new running back. Orleans Darkwa, Wayne Gallman, Paul Perkins… all of these players are pedestrian. New York needs an upgrade here, and it would get that with Ronald Jones, who could be chosen in the first round.

  3. Cleveland Browns: Mike Hughes, CB, Central Florida
Here’s a much-needed upgrade for Cleveland’s secondary. The Browns have glaring weaknesses at both cornerback and safety, and they could take two defensive backs in their first three picks.

  4. Indianapolis Colts: Derrius Guice, RB, LSU
Jim Irsay hinted that his team would use an early-round selection on a running back. Saquon Barkley would be ideal at No. 3 overall, but he’s not available in this version of my mock draft.

  5. New York Jets: Nick Chubb, RB, Georgia
The Jets need a new starting running back. Bilal Powell is a nice weapon, but New York has to find someone who can carry a full workload.

  6. Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Isaiah Wynn, G/C, Georgia
As mentioned in the first round, the Buccaneers really need to make sure Jameis Winston plays better in 2018. If Quenton Nelson isn’t available, there’s a good chance Isaiah Wynn could be Tampa’s pick at this spot.

Pick change; previously Will Hernandez, G

  7. Chicago Bears: Harold Landry, DE/OLB, Boston College
Pernell McPhee is a good player, but he hasn’t been the most reliable person on the roster for the Bears. He’s missed 10 games the past two years, so Chicago may part ways with him in the offseason because it would clear $7 million off the salary cap. If so, the Bears will be looking for a new edge rusher to pair with Leonard Floyd.

  8. Denver Broncos: Leighton Vander Esch, LB, Boise State
The Broncos were going to consider Haason Reddick at No. 20 if he fell to them, but the Cardinals scooped him up seven picks earlier. Here’s some linebacker help that Denver desperately needs.

  9. Oakland Raiders: Kerryon Johnson, RB, Auburn
Marshawn Lynch won’t be on the Raiders for more than another year, so Oakland will need to find a running back for the future.

Kerryon Johnson runs with great patience and has plus pass-catching skills, but he hasn’t been able to stay healthy.

  10. Miami Dolphins: Hayden Hurst, TE, South Carolina
The Dolphins could add another offensive weapon. Addressing tight end makes sense, as I don’t have much hope for Julius Thomas.

  11. New England Patriots: Kolton Miller, OT, UCLA
Nate Solder is an impending free agent. It’ll be interesting to see what the Patriots do with him. He’s obviously very talented, but he’s had severe injury problems over the past several seasons, so New England may decide that it can’t count on him.

Pick change; previously Nick Nelson, CB

  12. Washington Redskins: James Washington, WR, Oklahoma State
Terrelle Pryor was a major free agent bust signing, but the good news for the Redskins is that they obtained him for just one year. They can try to find another No. 1 receiver this upcoming offseason.

  13. Green Bay Packers: Mark Andrews, TE, Oklahoma
Martellus Bennett stole money from the Packers, so Green Bay will be searching for a new tight end this offseason.

  14. Cincinnati Bengals: Geron Christian, OT, Louisville
No one should be surprised if the Bengals double up on offensive linemen in the first few rounds in the 2018 NFL Draft, based on how the blocking unit has performed.

Pick change; previously Isaiah Wynn, G

  15. Arizona Cardinals: Brandon Parker, OT, North Carolina A&T
The Cardinals will need to make a couple of upgrades to the offensive line to protect their new quarterback. Jared Veldheer was awful last year and is currently considering retirement, so he’ll need to be replaced.

Pick change; previously Arden Key, DE

  16. Los Angeles Chargers: James Daniels, C, Iowa
The Chargers need to make multiple upgrades on the offensive line, and one happens to be at center, where they had poor play in 2017.

  17. New York Jets: D.J. Chark, WR, LSU
The Jets needed a second receiver across from Robby Anderson. Now, it seems as though they may need two wideouts because of Anderson’s legal problems.

  18. Dallas Cowboys: Justin Reid, S, Stanford
The Cowboys need better safety play, and they’re interested in signing New Orleans’ Kenny Vaccaro. If they can’t get him, using a second-round pick on an upgrade makes sense.

Pick change; previously Antonio Callaway, WR

  19. Detroit Lions: Maurice Hurst, DE/DT, Michigan
The Lions really need to focus on bolstering their pass rush, and they could use an interior presence to go along with A’Shawn Robinson.

Maurice Hurst is a tweener at 6-2, 282. He’s a disruptive player, but doesn’t have a defined position.

  20. Baltimore Ravens: Anthony Averett, CB, Alabama
Unless Brandon Carr takes a big pay cut, I can’t see him being back next year. The Ravens could pursue another cornerback early in the draft if Carr leaves.

  21. Buffalo Bills: R.J. McIntosh, DT, Miami
The Bills traded away Marcell Dareus and know that Kyle Williams won’t be around much longer. They’ll need to add some new talent to the defensive interior, especially with Adolphus Washington failing to live up to his third-round billing. General manager Brandon Beane didn’t draft Washington, so he could move on from him.

  22. Kansas City Chiefs: DaeSean Hamilton, WR, Penn State
The Chiefs don’t have much at receiver outside of Tyreek Hill, so this is something they’ll have to remedy this offseason.

  23. Carolina Panthers: Nick Nelson, CB, Wisconsin
The secondary is the weak link of Carolina’s roster. The Panthers need upgrades at both cornerback and safety.

Pick change; previously Jaire Alexander, CB

  24. Buffalo Bills: Braden Smith, G, Auburn
The Bills need to make several upgrades to the offensive line, as they need help at both guard and tackle.

  25. Tennessee Titans: Dorance Armstrong, DE/OLB, Kansas
Brian Orakpo appears to be slowing down a bit, while Kevin Dodd hasn’t shown that he can be an NFL-caliber player yet. There’s a good chance the Titans spend an early draft choice on an edge rusher to start across from Derrick Morgan.

  26. Atlanta Falcons: Duke Ejiofor, DE, Wake Forest
The Falcons have three defensive linemen set to hit free agency next spring, so this is an area they could attack in the 2018 NFL Draft, even if it means doubling up in the first two rounds.

  27. San Francisco 49ers: Christian Kirk, WR, Texas A&M
The 49ers will have Pierre Garcon back next year, but they need a second receiver to pair with him to give Jimmy Garoppolo more weapons to work with.

  28. Pittsburgh Steelers: Darius Leonard, LB, South Carolina State
I mentioned the Ryan Shazier situation in the opening round. It’s unfortunate, but there’s a chance Shazier may never play again, so the Steelers will be on the lookout for an early inside linebacker.

  29. Jacksonville Jaguars: Connor Williams, OT, Texas
Tom Coughlin loves bolstering the trenches. He’s gotten poor play out of left tackle Cam Robinson, so perhaps he’ll move Robinson inside if he can obtain a new blind-side protector for Blake Bortles.

Connor Williams has taken a dive in recent mock draft updates as a result of Charlie’s report in the NFL Hot Press that teams have a mid-round grade on the Texas tackle.

  30. Minnesota Vikings: Justin Jones, DT, N.C. State
There have been reports indicating that Sharrif Floyd may never play again, which is a shame. The Vikings will need to find a new defensive tackle to play next to Linval Joseph.

  31. New England Patriots: Jaire Alexander, CB, Louisville
Malcolm Butler is certainly gone after being inexplicably benched for the entire Super Bowl. The Patriots will need a solid cornerback to replace him.

Pick change; previously Brandon Parker, OT

  32. Cleveland Browns: Ronnie Harrison, S, Alabama
If the Browns don’t use the fourth-overall pick on Minkah Fitzpatrick, they could spend one of their second-round choices on a new safety.

Ronnie Harrison is going much later than expected, but he could fall because of coverage limitations.

Pick change; previously Justin Reid, S
