Last update: Wednesday, Jan. 1, 2014. Major changes in all 3 rounds.
Next update: Next week. Follow me @walterfootball for updates.

The order of this 2014 NFL Mock Draft is based on my NFL Power Rankings.

*** THIS IS A LIVE 2014 NFL MOCK DRAFT. PICKS ARE BEING POSTED NOW. TO SEE PREVIOUS VERSIONS, CHECK OUT THE ARCHIVED 2014 NFL MOCK DRAFT SECTION. FOLLOW @walterfootball FOR UPDATES ***

  1. Houston Texans: Scott Crichton, DE/OLB, Oregon State
The Texans would kill two stones with one bird with this pick, as Emmitt would say. They need to upgrade their pass rush and find some help at inside linebacker. Scott Crichton would satisfy the former, which would allow Brooks Reed to move inside.

    Follow @walterfootball for updates.

Pick change; previously James Hurst, OT

  2. Washington Redskins: Stephon Tuitt, DE/DT, Notre Dame
The Redskins need help all over their defensive, including up front. They had no push from their defensive line this past season.

  3. Cleveland Browns: Christian Jones, LB, Florida State
The Browns have a great front seven, but the one liability in the group is Craig Robertson, who was abused in coverage this previous season.

Pick change; previously Ryan Shazier, LB

  4. Oakland Raiders: Zack Martin, G/OT, Notre Dame
The Raiders need multiple upgrades on their offensive line. Lucas Nix might be the worst starting guard in the NFL, so he needs to be replaced.

Pick change; previously Gabe Jackson, G

  5. Atlanta Falcons: Gabe Jackson, G, Mississippi State
The Falcons have some major issues on the offensive line. Everyone wants to look at left tackle, but the guard position is an area that must be upgraded as well.

Pick change; previously Cyril Richardson, G/OT

  6. Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Anthony Johnson, DT, LSU
The Buccaneers have one of the best defensive tackles in the NFL in Gerald McCoy. However, they’re severely lacking at the position otherwise, as the pedestrian Gary Gibson and Akeem Spence have given them nothing. Tampa needs a long-term replacement for Roy Miller.

Pick change; previously Trent Murphy, DE

  7. Jacksonville Jaguars: Lache Seastrunk, RB, Baylor
Maurice Jones-Drew is an impending free agent. He’ll likely want to leave such a terrible situation, so the Jaguars will need to find a new running back.

Pick change; previously Tajh Boyd, QB

  8. Minnesota Vikings: Lamarcus Joyner, S, Florida State
The Vikings desperately need help in their secondary, including an upgrade next to Harrison Smith.

  9. Buffalo Bills: Cyril Richardson, G/OT, Baylor
The Bills allowed the fourth-most sacks in the NFL this past season with 48. That obviously needs to change, and the front office can start by finding a replacement for Andy Levitre.

Pick change; previously Marcus Roberson, CB

  10. Tennessee Titans: Bishop Sankey, RB, Washington
There have been reports indicating that Chris Johnson will be cut this offseason. If that’s the case, Tennessee will obviously be searching for a new lead running back.

  11. New York Giants: Marcus Roberson, CB, Florida
The Giants have to address multiple areas of their defense, including the cornerback position. All of the New York corners struggled this past year.

Pick change; previously Anthony Johnson, DT

  12. St. Louis Rams: Aaron Donald, DT, Pittsburgh
Kendall Langford has been a huge disappointment ever since signing a 4-year, $24 million contract in March 2012, as he’s offered very little pass-rushing ability. The Rams need an upgrade at defensive tackle.

Pick change; previously Craig Loston, S

  13. Detroit Lions: Bryan Stork, C, Florida State
Dominic Raiola has seemingly been on Detroit’s roster forever, but he’ll be a 35-year-old free agent in March. The Lions will probably bring in a new center.

  14. Pittsburgh Steelers: Jason Verrett, CB, TCU
The Steelers have to address the cornerback position. Ike Taylor was dreadful this year, as the receivers he battled – save for A.J. Green, oddly enough – posted season-high totals against him.

Pick change; previously Brandin Cooks, WR

  15. Dallas Cowboys: Craig Loston, S, LSU
Pick a position, any position. The Cowboys need upgrades all over their defense. Better safety play would’ve helped Dallas beat Philadelphia in Week 17.

Pick change; previously Davud Yankey, G/OT

  16. Baltimore Ravens: Allen Robinson, WR, Penn State
It should be quite apparent that the Ravens desperately need help at receiver. Neither Jacoby Jones nor Marlon Brown should be a No. 2 wideout in the NFL. Think Joe Flacco misses Anquan Boldin?

  17. New York Jets: Davante Adams, WR, Fresno State
Geno Smith has looked like the worst quarterback in the NFL on many occasions this season – even worse than Brandon Weeden and Jeff Tuel – but it’s not like he has much of a chance with his horrific receiving corps. Santonio Holmes can’t stay healthy, while Stephen Hill is a bust.

Pick change; previously Jordan Matthews, WR

  18. Miami Dolphins: Corey Robinson, OT, South Carolina
Considering everything that has happened this season with Jonathan Martin and Richie Incognito, Miami has to address the offensive line early and often.

Pick change; previously Lache Seastrunk, RB

  19. Chicago Bears: A.J. McCarron, QB, Alabama
It’s looking more and more like the Bears will allow Jay Cutler to escape this offseason. If that happens, they’ll obviously be searching for a quarterback in the spring.

  20. Arizona Cardinals: Adrian Hubbard, DE/OLB, Alabama
The Cardinals, who typically go with the top player on their board, will almost definitely be interested in someone like Jeremiah Attaouchu, as they really need an upgrade at outside linebacker across from Sam Acho.

Pick change; previously Jeremiah Attaochu, DE/OLB

  21. Green Bay Packers: Trent Murphy, DE/OLB, Stanford
Clay Matthews and Nick Perry have been injured quite frequently. The Packers need to find some pass-rushing depth.

Pick change; previously A.J. Johnson, ILB s

  22. San Diego Chargers: Jeremiah Attaochu, DE/OLB, Georgia Tech
The Chargers were so desperate for help at rush linebacker that they signed Dwight Freeney. The former Colt is obviously not a long-term solution for the team’s pass-rushing woes.

Pick change; previously Adrian Hubbard, DE/OLB

  23. Philadelphia Eagles: Dion Bailey, S, USC
Philadelphia’s defense is terrible for many reasons, one of which is the safety position. Nate Allen is garbage, while Patrick Chung can’t stay healthy.

  24. San Francisco 49ers: Brandin Cooks, WR, Oregon State
Anquan Boldin and Mario Manningham will both be free agents next March. The 49ers will need a new receiver to complement Michael Crabtree.

Pick change; previously Odell Beckham, WR

  25. Indianapolis Colts: Jordan Matthews, WR, Vanderbilt
We now see what Indianapolis’ offense looks like without Reggie Wayne. Wayne will be back next year, but he won’t be around forever. The Colts need a long-term solution at wideout to go along with T.Y. Hilton.

Pick change; previously Ed Stinson, DE/DT

  26. New Orleans Saints: A.J. Johnson, ILB, Tennessee
Here’s more help for the Saints’ linebacking corps. David Hawthorne has never lived up to expectations, so the front office may want to find someone who can challenge him.

Pick change; previously Corey Robinson, OT

  27. Cincinnati Bengals: Jackson Jeffcoat, DE, Texas
The Bengals drafted Margus Hunt, but they have Michael Johnson hitting free agency soon. With Carlos Dunlap extended, it’s very unlikely that Johnson will be retained.

  28. San Francisco 49ers: Dominique Easley, DE, Florida
The 49ers will need a successor for Justin Smith (Tank Carradine, maybe?) and also some depth on the defensive line. With four Day 2 selections, they can take a chance on someone like Dominique Easley, a tremendous talent who is coming off a terrible injury.

  29. Carolina Panthers: Ka’Deem Carey, RB, Arizona
Cam Newton has made huge improvements this year, but he could still really benefit from a potent, pass-catching weapon coming out of the backfield.

  30. New England Patriots: Travis Swanson, C, Arkansas
Ryan Wendell, an impending free agent, has been most responsible for Tom Brady’s poor pass protection.

  31. Denver Broncos: Kyle Fuller, CB, Virginia Tech
You have to wonder what the Broncos plan on doing at cornerback in 2014 and beyond. Champ Bailey and Quentin Jammer will be 36 and 35, respectively, in June. Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie, meanwhile, will be a free agent in March. Denver needs a long-term solution at the position.

Pick change; previously Christian Jones, LB

  32. Seattle Seahawks: David Yankey, G/OT, Stanford
The Seahawks, who can afford to go with the best player available, have multiple areas of concern on their offensive line, including both guard spots. Imagine how potent Russell Wilson would be with upgraded protection.

Pick change; previously Zack Martin, G/OT
