  1. Jacksonville Jaguars: Tyler Linderbaum, C/G, Iowa
The Jaguars must protect Trevor Lawrence, which is a big problem because Brandon Linder retired. Jacksonville has to be thrilled to be getting this sort of a prospect atop Round 2.

Tyler Linderbaum is coming off an amazing year. He can play guard as well, but would be much better at center.

  2. Detroit Lions: Nakobe Dean, LB, Georgia
I can’t remember the last time the Lions had consistently great linebacker play. Perhaps they’ll use this pick to rectify this issue.

Nakobe Dean is an athletic and instinctive linebacker.

Pick change; previously Lewis Cine, S

  3. New York Jets: Quay Walker, LB, Georgia
The Jets sorely need to upgrade the middle of their defense.

  4. New York Giants: Arnold Ebiketie, DE/OLB, Penn State
The Giants could stand to double up on edge rushers, given how weak their pass rush is. This pick would still make sense if New York takes an edge player at No. 5 or 7.

Sources told Charlie Campbell that Arnold Ebiketie compares favorably to Yannick Ngakoue.

  5. Houston Texans: Breece Hall, RB, Iowa State
Bill O’Brien may disagree, but it’s a sad state of affairs to have Rex Burkhead as your lead back. The Texans need someone new to complement their next franchise quarterback.

Breece Hall is a physical runner who has quality receiving skills.

  6. New York Jets: Perrion Winfrey, DT, Oklahoma
The Jets need help everywhere, and that includes the interior of the defensive line.

Perrion Winfrey dominated the trenches in 2020, especially late in the season.

  7. Chicago Bears: Skyy Moore, WR, Western Michigan
The Bears lost Allen Robinson to the Rams, so they have nothing at receiver beyond Darnell Mooney.

Skyy Moore is a speedy receiver with great run-after-catch ability. He thrived at the combine.

  8. Seattle Seahawks: Matt Corral, QB, Ole Miss
The Seahawks need to find a new franchise quarterback in the wake of trading Russell Wilson. Drew Lock is obviously not the answer.

Matt Corral developed well under Lane Kiffin, completing 71 percent of his passes in 2020. The Seahawks like Corral, per a report from Charlie Campbell in the NFL Hot Press, so this lines up well.

  9. Seattle Seahawks: Sam Williams, DE, Ole Miss
Two pass rushers in three picks is possible. The Seahawks had a severe issue getting to the quarterback last year. Given that they are in a division with Kyler Murray and Matthew Stafford, that must change quickly.

Sam Williams is very talented, but has character concerns.

  10. Indianapolis Colts: Bernhard Raimann, OT, Central Michigan
The Colts need a new left tackle, as Eric Fisher was just a temporary solution.

A former tight end, Bernhard Raimann is an athletic left tackle.

  11. Atlanta Falcons: Desmond Ridder, QB, Cincinnati
The Falcons will need a long-term answer at quarterback despite signing Marcus Mariota.

Desmond Ridder impressed this year. He has shown an improved ability to work through progression, and he’s good at using his feet to extend plays.

  12. Cleveland Browns: George Pickens, WR, Georgia
The Browns acquired Amari Cooper, but Deshaun Watson still needs another receiver.

George Pickens has nice size (6-3), tremendous athleticism and a wide catch radius. He has some character issues, but nothing egregious.

  13. Baltimore Ravens: DeVonte Wyatt, DT, Georgia
DeVonte Wyatt has some quickness despite his 315-pound frame. However, some teams have removed him from their board due to repeated domestic violence, per a Charlie Campbell report in the NFL Hot Press. His slide could stop here, as the Ravens have taken chances on troubled players in the past.

Pick change; previously Kaiir Elam, CB

  14. Minnesota Vikings: Ed Ingram, G, LSU
The Vikings have a huge hole at guard. It’s too early to address the position at No. 12, so they can find help here.

Ed Ingram is a tough run blocker who has displayed some athleticism.

  15. Washington Redskins: Kyler Gordon, CB, Washington
The Redskins had major problems at cornerback last year, so they could address the position early in the 2022 NFL Draft.

Kyler Gordon is a solid cornerback, though he doesn’t get many turnovers.

  16. Chicago Bears: Nick Petit-Frere, OT, Ohio State
The Bears already had offensive line woes, and that was before losing James Daniels in free agency. They need an upgrade at nearly every position up front.

Nick Petit-Frere has moved from right tackle to the blind side this year and has played very well.

  17. New Orleans Saints: Cam Taylor-Britt, CB, Nebraska
The Saints are thin at cornerback, so they could address the position on Day 2 of the 2022 NFL Draft.

Pick change; previously Alec Pierce, WR

  18. Kansas City Chiefs: Wan’Dale Robinson, WR, Kentucky
It’s going to take more than one player to replace Tyreek Hill. The Chiefs could easily double up on receivers in the first two rounds.

    Wan’Dale Robinson has game-breaking speed.

  19. Philadelphia Eagles: Christian Harris, LB, Alabama
Many expect the Eagles to address the linebacker position at Nos. 15 or 18. That could happen, but given the team’s history of eschewing linebackers in the first round, I think it’s more likely that they obtain an answer at the position in the second frame.

  20. Pittsburgh Steelers: Sam Howell, QB, North Carolina
As noted in the first round, the Steelers could wait until this pick to obtain a quarterback if they can’t get Malik Willis.

Sam Howell threw for 38 touchdowns in 2019, which was a Division I-A record for a freshman. He doesn’t have ideal size (6-1, 225), but there’s no doubting his throwing ability.

  21. Green Bay Packers: Travis Jones, NT, Connecticut
The Packers have struggled to stop the run in recent years, so perhaps they’ll do something about it early in the 2022 NFL Draft.

  22. New England Patriots: Alontae Taylor, CB/S, Tennessee
The Patriots could use some youth in their secondary, and Bill Belichick is always down for obtaining versatile players.

The speedy Alontae Taylor has put together some great tape as a corner in the SEC. He can also play safety.

  23. Arizona Cardinals: Kenneth Walker, RB, Michigan State
The Cardinals lost Chase Edmonds this offseason. James Conner was re-signed, but he has never played a full season in the NFL, so Arizona will want to use an early pick on a running back.

Kenneth Walker is a tough back who runs with great balance.

  24. Dallas Cowboys: Jaquan Brisker, S, Penn State
The Cowboys continue to have huge problems in the secondary that they must address.

Jaquan Brisker is an instinctive safety with good speed.

  25. Buffalo Bills: Sean Rhyan, G, UCLA
The Bills did well to sign Rodger Saffold this offseason, but they still need one more guard to bolster Josh Allen’s protection.

Pick change; previously Ed Ingram, G

  26. Atlanta Falcons: Alec Pierce, WR, Cincinnati
The Falcons have nothing at receiver, so they’ll need to address the position early in the 2022 NFL Draft.

The 6-3 Alec Pierce has a great size and speed combination.

Pick change; previously Josh Paschal, DE

  27. Green Bay Packers: Jalen Tolbert, WR, South Alabama
The Packers almost have to spend two of their first four selections on receivers in the wake of Davante Adams’ departure.

Jalen Tolbert has shown some big-play ability, but level of competition is obviously a question mark.

  28. Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Nik Bonitto, DE/OLB, Oklahoma
Jason Pierre-Paul is a free agent, so the Buccaneers will want to add an edge rusher to go along with Shaq Barrett and Joe Tryon.

Nik Bonitto is a tweener, but can serve as an edge-rushing specialist in a 3-4 system.

  29. San Francisco 49ers: Boye Mafe, DE, Minnesota
It’s been reported that Dee Ford won’t return in 2022, so the 49ers will need another edge rusher.

Boye Mafe seems to have a wide range. Some teams believe he could be chosen in the first round, while others believe he’s a Day 2 vanilla left end.

  30. Kansas City Chiefs: DeMarvin Leal, DE/DT, Texas A&M
The Chiefs need another edge rusher, especially with all the talented quarterbacks suddenly in the AFC.

DeMarvin Leal was dominant to close out the 2020 campaign, so he had lots of promise heading into 2021. He ended up recording 8.5 sacks.

  31. Cincinnati Bengals: Josh Paschal, DE, Kentucky
The Bengals are hoping that someone like George Karlaftis falls to them at No. 31. If that doesn’t happen, Cincinnati can find an edge rusher at the bottom of Round 2. Josh Paschal is stout as a run defender, and he can also get some pressure on the quarterback.

Pick change; previously Cam Taylor-Britt, CB

  32. Denver Broncos: Drake Jackson, DE, USC
The Broncos signed Randy Gregory, but he’s just a short-term option across from Bradley Chubb. Besides, the Broncos need as much pass-rushing help as possible, considering the passing talent in their division.
