The order of this 2014 NFL Mock Draft was based on the full, seven-round 2014 NFL Draft Order, which can be viewed by clicking the link.

*** THIS IS A LIVE 2014 NFL MOCK DRAFT. PICKS ARE BEING POSTED NOW. TO SEE PREVIOUS VERSIONS, CHECK OUT THE ARCHIVED 2014 NFL MOCK DRAFT SECTION. FOLLOW @walterfootball FOR UPDATES ***

  1. Houston Texans: Kyle Van Noy, DE/OLB, BYU
The Texans would kill two stones with one bird with this pick, as Emmitt would say. They need to upgrade their pass rush and find some help at inside linebacker. Kyle Van Noy would satisfy the former, which would allow Brooks Reed to move inside.

    Follow @walterfootball for updates.

  2. Washington Redskins: Stephon Tuitt, DE/DT, Notre Dame
The Redskins need help all over their defensive, including up front. They had no push from their defensive line this past season.

  3. Cleveland Browns: Ka’Deem Carey, RB, Arizona
The Browns apparently plan on courting Ben Tate in free agency, but what if he chooses to sign elsewhere?

  4. Oakland Raiders: Tajh Boyd, QB, Clemson
Matt McGloin and Terrelle Pryor have both exceeded expectations and played well at times this year, but that can be attributed to offensive coordinator Greg Olson’s excellent coaching. Olson has gotten the most out of these two, as well as Josh Freeman and Chad Henne (Blaine Gabbert was a lost cause). Imagine what he’ll do with a legitimate franchise quarterback. I’m not sure Tajh Boyd qualifies as one, but Oakland needs to try something.

  5. Atlanta Falcons: Xavier Su’a-Filo, G, UCLA
The Falcons have some major issues on the offensive line. Everyone wants to look at left tackle, but the guard position is an area that must be upgraded as well.

  6. Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Trent Murphy, DE/OLB, Stanford
Tampa Bay had major problems generating pressure on the quarterback this past season. As Charlie Campbell outlined in his plan to rebuild the Buccaneers, Mark Dominik was always criticized for never fixing the pass rush, so this will be a point of emphasis for Lovie Smith.

Pick change; previously Gabe Jackson, G

  7. Jacksonville Jaguars: Tre Mason, RB, Auburn
Maurice Jones-Drew is an impending free agent (go here to check out my 2014 NFL Free Agent Rankings). He’ll likely want to leave such a terrible situation, so the Jaguars will need to find a new running back.

  8. Minnesota Vikings: Gabe Jackson, G, Mississippi State
The Vikings can help their new quarterback (as well as Adrian Peterson) with improved interior offensive line play. Charlie Johnson, the weak link on the unit, happens to be a free agent.

Pick change; previously Lamarcus Joyner, S

  9. Buffalo Bills: Troy Niklas, TE, Notre Dame
This offseason has to be all about building around E.J. Manuel. Buffalo already upgraded its offensive line; now it has to find a potent intermediate weapon for the second-year quarterback.

Pick change; previously Cyril Richardson, G/OT

  10. Tennessee Titans: Antonio Richardson, OT, Tennessee
The Titans will be looking for some long-term solutions at tackle. Michael Roos will be a free agent in 2015, while David Stewart could be released this offseason because he’s due $6.4 million next year.

Pick change; previously Bishop Sankey, RB

  11. New York Giants: Morgan Moses, OT, Virginia
Will Beatty, who struggled at times in 2013, broke his leg in the season finale and may not be ready for Week 1. There was already some speculation that he could move to right tackle, with Justin Pugh shifting inside to his more natural guard position.

Pick change; previously Scott Crichton, DE

  12. St. Louis Rams: Davante Adams, WR, Fresno State
The Rams will consider choosing Sammy Watkins if they trade out of their No. 2 pick. That’s because they have a major need for a receiver to go along with Tavon Austin.

Pick change; previously Timmy Jernigan, DT

  13. Detroit Lions: Bryan Stork, C, Florida State
Dominic Raiola has seemingly been on Detroit’s roster forever, but he’ll be a 35-year-old free agent in March. The Lions will probably bring in a new center.

  14. Pittsburgh Steelers: Loucheiz Purifoy, CB, Florida
The Steelers have to address the cornerback position. Ike Taylor was dreadful this past year, as the receivers he battled – save for A.J. Green, oddly enough – posted season-high totals against him.

Pick change; previously Brandin Cooks, CB

  15. Dallas Cowboys: David Yankey, G/OT, Stanford
The Cowboys are so desperate at guard that they lured Brian Waters out of semi-retirement. Waters was then knocked out for the year. So much for that.

Pick change; previously Aaron Donald, DT

  16. Baltimore Ravens: Jordan Matthews, WR, Vanderbilt
It should be quite apparent that the Ravens desperately need help at receiver. Neither Jacoby Jones nor Marlon Brown should be a No. 2 wideout in the NFL. Think Joe Flacco misses Anquan Boldin?

Pick change; previously Corey Robinson, OT

  17. New York Jets: Brandin Cooks, WR, Oregon State
Geno Smith has looked like the worst quarterback in the NFL on many occasions this season – even worse than Brandon Weeden and Jeff Tuel – but it’s not like he has much of a chance with his horrific receiving corps. Santonio Holmes can’t stay healthy, while Stephen Hill is a bust.

Pick change; previously Davante Adams, WR

  18. Miami Dolphins: Kyle Fuller, CB, Virginia Tech
Both Brent Grimes and Nolan Carroll will be hitting the free-agent market come March. The Dolphins will probably look to acquire another corner.

  19. Chicago Bears: Aaron Donald, DT, Pittsburgh
Henry Melton, an impending free agent, tore his ACL earlier in the season and was recently arrested for misdemeanor assault. This could make it easier for the Bears to keep him, but they’ll need a replacement if he walks.

Pick change; previously Jason Verrett, CB

  20. Arizona Cardinals: Trevor Reilly, DE/OLB, Utah
The Cardinals, who typically go with the top player on their board, will almost definitely be interested in someone like Trevor Reilly, as they really need an upgrade at outside linebacker across from Sam Acho. John Abraham, 36 in May, won’t be effective much longer.

Pick change; previously Adrian Hubbard, DE/OLB

  21. Green Bay Packers: Calvin Pryor, S, Louisville
Is there any doubt that the Packers need to improve their secondary? Their defensive backfield blew so many coverages throughout the season, and they had no chance against Colin Kaepernick.

Pick change; previously Craig Loston, S

  22. Philadelphia Eagles: Dion Bailey, S, USC
Philadelphia’s defense is terrible for many reasons, one of which is the safety position. Nate Allen is an impending free agent, while Patrick Chung is absolutely terrible.

  23. Cincinnati Bengals: Jackson Jeffcoat, DE, Texas
The Bengals drafted Margus Hunt, but they have Michael Johnson hitting free agency soon. With Carlos Dunlap extended, it’s very unlikely that Johnson will be retained.

  24. San Francisco 49ers: Craig Loston, S, LSU
The 49ers spent a first-round pick on a safety last year, but they may have to use another selection on one with Donte Whitner heading into free agency.

Pick change; previously Calvin Pryor, S

  25. San Diego Chargers: Jason Verrett, CB, TCU
The Chargers’ defense made every single quarterback look like a Pro Bowler earlier in the year. They have a dreadful cornerback situation, which could be remedied with the use of an early-round pick in May’s draft.

Pick change; previously Trent Murphy, DE/OLB

  26. New Orleans Saints: Christian Jones, LB, Florida State
Here’s more help for the Saints’ linebacking corps. David Hawthorne has never lived up to expectations, so the front office may want to find someone who can challenge him.

  27. Indianapolis Colts: Lamarcus Joyner, S, Florida State
Antoine Bethea’s contract has expired – go here for the NFL Free Agent Rankings – while LaRon Landry was exposed in the playoffs. Safety help is needed.

Pick change; previously Yawin Smallwood, ILB

  28. Carolina Panthers: Corey Robinson, OT, South Carolina
Jordan Gross is a free agent this season. He has said he’ll only play for Carolina, but he also discussed retirement. Even if he comes back, the Panthers will need to think about bringing in a long-term solution at left tackle, as well as an immediate upgrade over right tackle Byron Bell, who couldn’t block Junior Galette.

Pick change; previously Lache Seastrunk, RB

  29. San Francisco 49ers: Odell Beckham, WR, LSU
Anquan Boldin and Mario Manningham will both be free agents next March. The 49ers will need a new receiver to complement Michael Crabtree.

Pick change; previously Jordan Matthews, WR

  30. New England Patriots: Travis Swanson, C, Arkansas
Ryan Wendell, an impending free agent, has been most responsible for Tom Brady’s poor pass protection.

  31. Denver Broncos: Cyril Richardson, G/OT, Baylor
The Broncos will have a hole up front if Zane Beadles, a free agent this March, heads elsewhere. Cyril Richardson is a steal this late.

Pick change; previously Loucheiz Purifoy, CB

  32. Seattle Seahawks: Paul Richardson, WR, Colorado
Golden Tate and Doug Baldwin are both impending free agents, but the Seahawks can do better at receiver anyway.
