  1. Cleveland Browns: Ryan Ramczyk, OT, Wisconsin
The Browns made some great upgrades to their offensive line, signing Kevin Zeitler and J.C. Tretter. They still have a hole at right tackle, however, which they can remedy here.

Ryan Ramczyk is a first-round talent, but I have him falling to the second frame because of injuries and a report from Charlie Campbell that teams are questioning his love for the game.

  2. San Francisco 49ers: Zay Jones, WR, East Carolina
I don’t understand why the 49ers avoided addressing the receiver position until late in the 2016 NFL Draft. How did they not realize that they have such a huge need in that area? Perhaps the new front office will make amends for this mistake, especially in the wake of Torrey Smith’s release. They already signed Pierre Garcon, but another wideout is needed.

  3. Jacksonville Jaguars: Evan Engram, TE, Ole Miss
The Jaguars traded Julius Thomas to the Dolphins, so perhaps they’ll use a second-day selection on a tight end who isn’t constantly injured and lethargic.

  4. Chicago Bears: Tre’Davious White, CB, LSU
The Bears signed Prince Amukamara, but that was to a 1-year deal. This pick could be used on a more long-term solution.

Pick change; previously Gareon Conley, CB

  5. Los Angeles Rams: Dan Feeney, G, Indiana
The Rams need to add lots of talent to help develop Jared Goof, which seems like a problem because they don’t have a first-round pick. They could address every position outside of running back, and I don’t think the Rams need any neighborly advice telling them that they need to bolster the interior of their offensive line.

  6. Los Angeles Chargers: DeShone Kizer, QB, Notre Dame
I’m going to reference my Giants first-round pick here. New York can take Deshaun Watson to eventually succeed Eli Manning, and the Chargers could do the same thing with Philip Rivers. The long-time Charger quarterback turns 36 during the season, so someone is needed to take over for him in the near future. With DeShone Kizer offering so much value, it could be difficult for the Chargers to pass on him.

  7. New York Jets: Marcus Williams, S, Utah
Here’s another upgrade for the secondary. The Jets found a stud cornerback at No. 6 overall, and they can replace the anemic Calvin Pryor with this selection.

Pick change; previously Tre’Davious White, CB

  8. Carolina Panthers: Alvin Kamara, RB, Tennessee
Jonathan Stewart is still a quality runner, but he turns 30 this March, so Carolina might envision someone like Alvin Kamara as Cam Newton’s backfield partner for the next 8-10 years.

  9. Cincinnati Bengals: Dion Dawkins, G/OT, Temple
The Bengals inexplicably allowed two of their best offensive linemen to leave via free agency despite having plenty of cap space. They’ll have to find replacements for these blockers early in the 2017 NFL Draft.

Pick change; previously Obi Melifonwu, S

  10. New Orleans Saints: Ahkello Witherspoon, CB, Colorado
Two of the Saints’ early-round picks are expected to be used on a pass-rusher and a cornerback. Here’s an upgrade for the latter position, though I’ll change this selection if New Orleans manages to obtain Malcolm Butler.

  11. Philadelphia Eagles: Sidney Jones, CB, Washington
The Eagles have needed to upgrade their dubious cornerback situation for quite some time now, and I expect them to do so in the first couple of rounds in the 2017 NFL Draft. There are tons of strong cornerback prospects available in this class, so the Eagles can afford to wait until the second round. Poor Sidney Jones tore his Achilles, but he’s a top-15 talent and could go in the second round. The Eagles would effectively have to redshirt him, but taking him could pay dividends in 2018 and beyond. With a front office and coaching staff having great job security right now, Philadelphia can afford to make a move like this.

Pick change; previously Fabian Moreau, CB

  12. Buffalo Bills: Fabian Moreau, CB, UCLA
The Bills lost Stephon Gilmore to the Patriots. I imagine their fans are already imagining worst-case scenarios. Buffalo needs a cornerback to replace Gilmore.

Pick change; previously Marcus Williams, S

  13. Arizona Cardinals: Davis Webb, QB, California
General manager Steve Keim discussed finding a long-term quarterback this offseason. The Cardinals could take a shot on a signal-caller on the second day of the draft, rather than spending the No. 13 overall pick on Carson Palmer’s successor. Of course, taking someone like DeShone Kizer is possible at 13th overall as well.

  14. Indianapolis Colts: Jordan Willis, DE/OLB, Kansas State
Jordan Willis’ draft stock is rising, and I wouldn’t be surprised to see him pop up in some first rounds of mock drafts after his strong combine. I wouldn’t go that far yet, but it’s something I may consider in the future. Either way, the Colts could absolutely use him, as he would start across from the newly acquired Jabaal Sheard.

  15. Baltimore Ravens: Charles Harris, DE/OLB, Missouri
The top pass-rushers were all off the board by the time the Ravens were on the clock at No. 16 in this mock draft update. Luckily for them, this class is stacked as far as edge rushers are concerned. A replacement for Elvis Dumervil can be obtained here.

Pick change; previously Dion Dawkins, G/OT

  16. Minnesota Vikings: Malik McDowell, DE/DT, Michigan State
Missing Sharrif Floyd hurt this past season, and Mike Zimmer didn’t sound like he’d be able to trust Floyd going forward. Here’s an insurance policy.

  17. Washington Redskins: Chris Wormley, DE/DT, Michigan
As mentioned in the first round, the Redskins need help at defensive end, inside linebacker and safety to shore up the middle of their defense. Chris Wormley is the sort of prospect the Redskins love, and he’s one of the top players available.

  18. Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Quincy Wilson, CB, Florida
Brent Grimes turns 34 in July. He’s coming off a great season, but may not be effective much longer.

Pick change; previously Curtis Samuel, WR

  19. Denver Broncos: Takkarist McKinley, DE/OLB, UCLA
DeMarcus Ware has announced his retirement. Shane Ray was already expected to slot into Ware’s spot, but Denver now needs some depth behind Von Miller and Ray.

Pick change; previously Tanoh Kpassagnon, DE/DT

  20. Cleveland Browns: Desmond King, S/CB, Iowa
The Browns had some horrific secondary play last year, as both positions need to be upgraded. Their safety situation is pretty dire.

  21. Detroit Lions: Jarrad Davis, LB, Florida
DeAndre Levy played in only six games the past two seasons, and he as released as a result. The Lions would need an upgrade at linebacker even if he were healthy most of the time. I’d expect an early pick to be used on the position fairly early in the 2017 NFL Draft.

  22. Miami Dolphins: Carlos Watkins, DT, Clemson
The Dolphins got rid of Earl Mitchell and probably laughed as they watched the 49ers overpay for him. Nevertheless, Miami needs some interior defensive line help.

  23. New York Giants: Marlon Mack, RB, South Florida
The Giants have released Rashad Jennings, so they could spend an early-round selection on a running back to pair with Paul Perkins.

Pick change; previously Bucky Hodges, TE

  24. Oakland Raiders: Curtis Samuel, WR, Ohio State
The Raiders had one of the worst No. 3 receivers in Seth Roberts last year, so they could use an upgrade to play along with Michael Crabtree and Amari Cooper.

Pick change; previously Marlon Mack, RB

  25. Houston Texans: Gerald Everett, TE, South Alabama
The Texans desperately need a receiving threat at tight end, and Gerald Everett is one of many talented tight ends in this draft class.

  26. Seattle Seahawks: Kevin King, CB, Washington
The Seahawks usually select a cornerback later than this, but Kevin King fits what they look for perfectly.

Pick change; previously Tyus Bowser, DE/OLB

  27. Kansas City Chiefs: Tim Williams, DE/OLB, Alabama
With Tamba Hali nearing retirement and Dee Ford hitting free agency soon, the Chiefs could be in the market for a new edge rusher. Tim Williams has Randy Gregory-type off-the-field concerns, but Andy Reid has taken chances on troubled players.

  28. Dallas Cowboys: Jalen Tabor, CB, Florida
As mentioned in the first round, the Cowboys are expected to address the defense early and often. Cornerback help will sorely be needed if Morris Claiborne leaves via free agency. As luck would have it, this class is stacked at corner.

Pick change; previously Ahkello Witherspoon, CB

  29. Green Bay Packers: Tyus Bowser, DE/OLB, Houston
The Packers managed to retain Nick Perry, but lost Julius Peppers in the process. Another edge rusher is needed. They can take Tyus Bowser, who came out of his shell to have a great Senior Bowl and then breathed fire at the combine.

Pick change; previously Chidobe Awuzie, CB

  30. Pittsburgh Steelers: Tanoh Kpassagnon, DE/DT, Villanova
The Steelers have shown interest in Tanoh Kpassagnon, and they could take him here as a potential replaement for Stephon Tuitt, who is entering his contract season.

Pick change; previously Chris Godwin, WR

  31. Atlanta Falcons: Trey Hendrickson, DE, Florida Atlantic
It was a bit odd to see the Falcons eschew their pass rush in the 2016 NFL Draft, especially when Shaq Lawson dropped to them at No. 17. I’m sure that after seeing their defenders struggle to get to the quarterback – save for Vic Beasley, who has improved – they’ll be desperate for someone who can apply pressure on opposing signal-callers in the 2017 NFL Draft.

  32. Carolina Panthers: Justin Evans, S, Texas A&M
There are some quality safeties still remaining on the board, and the Panthers will take one if they stay true to their “best player available” policy.
