  1. Jacksonville Jaguars: Tyler Linderbaum, C/G, Iowa
The Jaguars must protect Trevor Lawrence, which is a big problem because Brandon Linder retired. Jacksonville has to be thrilled to be getting this sort of a prospect atop Round 2.

Tyler Linderbaum is coming off an amazing year. He can play guard as well, but would be much better at center.

  2. Detroit Lions: Nakobe Dean, LB, Georgia
I can’t remember the last time the Lions had consistently great linebacker play. Perhaps they’ll use this pick to rectify this issue.

Nakobe Dean is an athletic and instinctive linebacker.

  3. New York Jets: Arnold Ebiketie, DE/OLB, Penn State
The Jets missed out on the edge rushers in the first round, so they can obtain one here to pair with Carl Lawson. Sources told Charlie Campbell that Arnold Ebiketie compares favorably to Yannick Ngakoue.

Pick change; previously Quay Walker, LB

  4. New York Giants: Kenny Pickett, QB, Pittsburgh
The fall finally ends. It’ll be a long 19 or so hours for Kenny Pickett, who has no buzz from any team. Charlie and I have reached out to numerous teams, and none of them like Pickett for a variety of reasons. We don’t speak to every team, so Pickett could be chosen in the first round, but one team with a quarterback need told us that they have him behind Malik Willis, Sam Howell and Matt Corral!

The Giants could consider Pickett because Daniel Jones is a lost cause. He’s likely done in New York, so the Giants can go much cheaper at quarterback.

Pickett is an accurate passer with nice size. He was on fire in 2021. However, he’s just a middling first-round quarterback prospect, and his small hands might scare the cold-weather teams.

Pick change; previously Arnold Ebiketie, DE/OLB

  5. Houston Texans: Breece Hall, RB, Iowa State
Bill O’Brien may disagree, but it’s a sad state of affairs to have Rex Burkhead as your lead back. The Texans need someone new to complement their next franchise quarterback.

Breece Hall is a physical runner who has quality receiving skills.

  6. New York Jets: Perrion Winfrey, DT, Oklahoma
The Jets need help everywhere, and that includes the interior of the defensive line.

Perrion Winfrey dominated the trenches in 2020, especially late in the season.

  7. Chicago Bears: David Ojabo, DE/OLB, Michigan
If David Ojabo drops out of the first round, I think this is a perfect spot for him. The Bears know they’re not going to be competitive in 2022, by design, so they’ll be looking to build for 2023 and beyond. David Ojabo won’t be able to play at a high level until 2023, so that matches up with Chicago’s strategy. Besides, the Bears need an edge rusher to replace Khalil Mack.

Ojabo tore his Achilles this spring, but he’s expected back in the second half of this upcoming regular season. Many expect him to fall to Round 2, and while that could happen, I could see a Montez Sweat situation playing out where Ojabo is chosen in the 24-32 range.

Pick change; previously Wan’Dale Robinson, WR

  8. Seattle Seahawks: Sam Howell, QB, North Carolina
The Seahawks need to find a new franchise quarterback in the wake of trading Russell Wilson. Drew Lock is obviously not the answer.

Sam Howell threw for 38 touchdowns in 2019, which was a Division I-A record for a freshman. He doesn’t have ideal size (6-1, 225), but there’s no doubting his throwing ability.

  9. Seattle Seahawks: Sam Williams, DE, Ole Miss
Two pass rushers in three picks is possible. The Seahawks had a severe issue getting to the quarterback last year. Given that they are in a division with Kyler Murray and Matthew Stafford, that must change quickly.

Sam Williams is very talented, but has character concerns.

  10. Indianapolis Colts: Bernhard Raimann, OT, Central Michigan
The Colts need a new left tackle, as Eric Fisher was just a temporary solution.

A former tight end, Bernhard Raimann is an athletic left tackle.

  11. Atlanta Falcons: Desmond Ridder, QB, Cincinnati
The Falcons will need a long-term answer at quarterback despite signing Marcus Mariota.

Desmond Ridder impressed this year. He has shown an improved ability to work through progression, and he’s good at using his feet to extend plays.

  12. Cleveland Browns: George Pickens, WR, Georgia
The Browns acquired Amari Cooper, but Deshaun Watson still needs another receiver.

George Pickens has nice size (6-3), tremendous athleticism and a wide catch radius. He has some character issues, but nothing egregious.

  13. Baltimore Ravens: Kaiir Elam, CB, Florida
The Ravens will have to spend an early pick on a cornerback, given their coverage issues from last year.

Kaiir Elam has a good mix of length and quickness.

Pick change; previously DeVonte Wyatt, DT

  14. Minnesota Vikings: Ed Ingram, G, LSU
The Vikings have a huge hole at guard. It’s too early to address the position at No. 12, so they can find help here.

Ed Ingram is a tough run blocker who has displayed some athleticism.

  15. Washington Redskins: Skyy Moore, WR, Western Michigan
If the Redskins don’t use the No. 11 pick on a receiver, there’s a good chance they’ll take one in the second round.

Skyy Moore is a speedy receiver with great run-after-catch ability. He thrived at the combine.

Pick change; previously Kyler Gordon, CB

  16. Chicago Bears: Wan’Dale Robinson, WR, Kentucky
The Bears lost Allen Robinson to the Rams, so they have nothing at receiver beyond Darnell Mooney.

    Wan’Dale Robinson has game-breaking speed.

  17. New Orleans Saints: Cam Taylor-Britt, CB, Nebraska
The Saints are thin at cornerback, so they could address the position on Day 2 of the 2022 NFL Draft.

  18. Kansas City Chiefs: Kyler Gordon, CB, Washington
The Chiefs lost cornerback talent in free agency, so they may target that position with this pick.

Kyler Gordon is a solid cornerback, though he doesn’t get many turnovers.

  19. Philadelphia Eagles: Christian Harris, LB, Alabama
Many expect the Eagles to address the linebacker position at Nos. 15 or 18. That could happen, but given the team’s history of eschewing linebackers in the first round, I think it’s more likely that they obtain an answer at the position in the second frame.

  20. Pittsburgh Steelers: Boye Mafe, DE, Minnesota
The Steelers had no pass rush last year when T.J. Watt was hurt.

Boye Mafe seems to have a wide range. Some teams believe he could be chosen in the first round, while others believe he’s a Day 2 vanilla left end.

  21. Green Bay Packers: Travis Jones, NT, Connecticut
The Packers have struggled to stop the run in recent years, so perhaps they’ll do something about it early in the 2022 NFL Draft.

  22. New England Patriots: Alontae Taylor, CB/S, Tennessee
The Patriots could use some youth in their secondary, and Bill Belichick is always down for obtaining versatile players.

The speedy Alontae Taylor has put together some great tape as a corner in the SEC. He can also play safety.

  23. Arizona Cardinals: Nik Bonitto, DE/OLB, Oklahoma
The Cardinals lost Chandler Jones this offseason, so they’ll likely spend a second-day pick on an edge rusher.

Nik Bonitto is a tweener, but can serve as an edge-rushing specialist in a 3-4 system.

  24. Dallas Cowboys: Jaquan Brisker, S, Penn State
The Cowboys continue to have huge problems in the secondary that they must address.

Jaquan Brisker is an instinctive safety with good speed.

  25. Buffalo Bills: Kenneth Walker, RB, Michigan State
The Bills will be looking for a new running back to pair with Devin Singletary.

Kenneth Walker is a tough back who runs with great balance.

  26. Atlanta Falcons: Jalen Tolbert, WR, South Alabama
The Falcons have nothing at receiver, so they’ll need to address the position early in the 2022 NFL Draft.

Jalen Tolbert has shown some big-play ability, but level of competition is obviously a question mark.

Pick change; previously Alec Pierce, WR

  27. Green Bay Packers: Alec Pierce, WR, Cincinnati
The Packers almost have to spend two of their first four selections on receivers in the wake of Davante Adams’ departure. Almost.

The 6-3 Alec Pierce has a great size and speed combination.

Pick change; previously Jalen Tolbert, WR

  28. Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Drake Jackson, DE, USC
Jason Pierre-Paul is a free agent, so the Buccaneers will want to add an edge rusher to go along with Shaq Barrett and Joe Tryon.

  29. San Francisco 49ers: Josh Paschal, DE, Kentucky
It’s been reported that Dee Ford won’t return in 2022, so the 49ers will need another edge rusher.

Josh Paschal is stout as a run defender, and he can also get some pressure on the quarterback.

  30. Kansas City Chiefs: DeMarvin Leal, DE/DT, Texas A&M
The Chiefs need another edge rusher, especially with all the talented quarterbacks suddenly in the AFC.

DeMarvin Leal was dominant to close out the 2020 campaign, so he had lots of promise heading into 2021. He ended up recording 8.5 sacks.

  31. Cincinnati Bengals: Cam Jurgens, C, Nebraska
The Bengals did a great job of upgrading their offensive line this offseason, but they’re still looking for a starting center.

Cam Jurgens had an outstanding pro day workout to bolster his draft stock.

  32. Denver Broncos: Chad Muma, LB, Wyoming
The Broncos lost some linebacker talent this offseason, so they’re expected to address this position early this weekend.

Chad Muma displayed superior athleticism at the combine.
