  1. Arizona Cardinals: Ed Oliver, DT, Houston
The Cardinals failed to secure a replacement for Calais Campbell yet again this past offseason, but I have to believe that general manager Steve Keim is well aware of how loaded the 2019 NFL Draft class is of defensive linemen. As bad as Arizona needs blockers for Josh Rosen, it won’t be able to pass up on one of the three stud defensive tackles.

Ed Oliver was a highly productive defensive lineman for Houston, recording a ridiculous 22.5 TFLs as a freshman. He’s been a monster this season and currently projects to be a top pick in the 2019 NFL Draft.

  2. New York Jets: Nick Bosa, DE, Ohio State
Some Jet fan e-mailers were furious that their team didn’t add an edge rusher in the previous draft. My response was that this was more than just a short rebuilding process, and I’m sure general manager Mike Maccagnan was well aware that the 2019 NFL Draft will be loaded with edge rushers.

Nick Bosa has a tremendous skill set, and he was off to a great start in 2018 before injuring his knee. He should still be a top-five pick.

Pick change; previously Montez Sweat, DE

  3. New York Giants: Justin Herbert, QB, Oregon
    TRADE!!!

OK, maybe it’s a little silly to predicting a trade this early, but this makes too much sense. The Giants are desperate for a quarterback, while the 49ers, who hold this pick, don’t need a defensive tackle. Nick Bosa is a strong option for them if available, but he was off the board.

Giants ownership pushed for a quarterback prior to the 2018 NFL Draft, but general manager David Gettleman opted for Saquon Barkley instead. After what has transpired this year, I can’t imagine Gettleman going against ownership’s wishes again.

Justin Herbert played in just eight games last year, but has some major potential. He was accurate, completing 67 percent of his passes, and he also has nice size at 6-6, 225. He had a monster game versus Stanford and appears to now be the consensus top quarterback in this class.

  4. Houston Texans: Derrick Brown, DT, Auburn
The Texans need offensive linemen and cornerbacks, but they won’t be able to pass on one of the three elite defensive tackles, who project to be on an Ndamukong Suh or Gerald McCoy level. Adding one of these players to a front containing J.J. Watt would be ridiculous. Plus, it wouldn’t hurt to have an insurance policy for Watt.

Derrick Brown has great size (6-5, 316) and tons of upside. He can be a great interior disruptor if he lives up to his potential.

  5. Indianapolis Colts: Jeffery Simmons, DT, Mississippi State
The Colts, once again, should target the best player available. This time, they can focus on their defensive front, which I believe they would have done had Bradley Chubb been available.

Jeffrey Simmons is an extremely disruptive interior force, but was found guilty of simple assault charges. He should be a top-five pick if teams are fine with his off-the-field issues, as he has an amazing blend of power and athleticism.

  6. Detroit Lions: Rashan Gary, DE/DT, Michigan
The Lions’ defense has looked poor in three of four games this year, as it allowed Dallas to score more than 20 points for the first time all year. The defense was expected to be atrocious, and that has certainly been the case. Help is needed at every level, and I have to imagine that Detroit will be eager to pick up one of the stud defensive tackles in this class to finally replace Ndamukong Suh.

Rashan Gary is an athletic freak. He wasn’t extremely productive as a freshman, but he recorded five sacks and 11 tackles for loss in 2017. His teammates believe he’ll be a top-10 pick.

  7. Buffalo Bills: Greg Little, OT, Ole Miss
The first offensive player is off the board in this 2019 NFL Mock Draft, and it’s naturally an offensive player to help the Bills, who need to improve Josh Allen’s protection and receiving talent.

Greg “Mr. Reliable” Little was a five-star recruit coming out of high school. He’s an athletic left tackle who could become a top-10 pick.

  8. San Francisco 49ers: Clelin Ferrell, DE, Clemson
It would be ideal for the 49ers to trade down from No. 3 in this update – perhaps with the Giants, who will be desperate for a quarterback – because San Francisco doesn’t really need a defensive tackle.

The 49ers may want to look into adding another pass-rusher to go with Solomon Thomas, given all of the quarterbacking talent in the NFC West. Their defense is atrocious, and it all starts up front, where they can’t get much pressure on the quarterback outside of DeForest Buckner.

Clelin Ferrell has elite athleticism, and he could’ve been a top-15, or even a top-10 pick in the 2018 NFL Draft had he declared (perhaps No. 6 overall to the Colts.)

  9. Atlanta Falcons: Raekwon Davis, DE/DT, Alabama
The Falcons were expected to address their defensive line during the draft, but the spend too much energy doing it. They’ll need to make amends for that next spring.

Raekwon Davis had a dominant performance in the national championship to cap off his excellent 2017 season in which he logged 8.5 sacks.

Pick change; previously Dre’Mont Jones, DT

  10. Oakland Raiders: Montez Sweat, DE/OLB, Mississippi State
The Raiders traded Khalil Mack because they couldn’t afford to pay both him and Derek Carr obscene contracts, and that’ll be fine if they can replace Mack with one of the stellar edge rushers in the upcoming draft class.

Montez Sweat registered 10.5 sacks in his first season, and he has major potential. He has a big frame and could stand to pack on 20 pounds of muscle, so the potential is there.

Pick change; previously Nick Bosa, DE

  11. Minnesota Vikings: Devin White, LB, LSU
The Vikings have some great defensive players, but they have a major weakness, which is their inability to cover in space. Their linebacking corps needs an injection of talent.

Devin White was extremely productive this past season, logging 133 tackles. A projected running back, White is still learning the position, which is crazy considering how great he was in 2017. White is already generating a buzz for the 2019 NFL Draft, as Charlie Campbell reported in the NFL Hot Press.

Pick change; previously Tre Lamar, LB

  12. Cleveland Browns: Dexter Lawrence, DT, Clemson
The Browns have a great defensive line, but they could use an interior player who can generate a heavy pass rush. This would take their defensive front over the top.

Dexter Lawrence is a monster of a defensive tackle (6-5, 340) and is exceptional at both stuffing the run and pressuring the quarterback.

Pick change; previously Christian Wilkins, DT

  13. Pittsburgh Steelers: Josh Allen, LB, Kentucky
The Steelers failed to replace Ryan Shazier this past offseason. They’ll continue to struggle defensively again this year, so they’ll need to make sure they finally obtain someone who can fill Shazier’s shoes.

Josh Allen has great size, speed and athleticism, and he also has the versatility to play multiple positions. He’s compared to as a hybrid of Leonard Floyd and Zach Cunningham, as he can play in coverage and also rush the quarterback effectively on the edge.

  14. Dallas Cowboys: A.J. Brown, WR, Ole Miss
If a receiver is one of the top prospects available, the Cowboys must absolutely use that pick on him. There’s no question about it. Dak Prescott’s top target right now is Deonte Thompson, which is just sad.

A.J. Brown has a tremendous athleticism, and he was a great weapon for Ole Miss last year.

  15. Seattle Seahawks: Deionte Thompson, S, Alabama
Earl Thomas has likely played his final down in Seattle, and Kam Chancellor retired last offseason, so the Seahawks have to find some new members for Legion of Boom 2.0.

Deionte Thompson has a great blend of size (6-2, 196), speed and athleticism. He’s been very productive replacing Minkah Fitzpatrick.

Pick change; previously Raekwon Davis, DE/DT

  16. New England Patriots: Greedy Williams, CB, LSU
Bill Belichick may never admit it, but I imagine he misses having Malcolm Butler starting across from Stephon Gilmore in his defense. The Patriots could use their first-round pick on a replacement for Butler.

Greedy Williams had a spectacular freshman season with six interceptions. Williams has great size (6-2, 182) and quickness, and he has top-10 upside.

Pick change; previously Devin White, LB
