  1. New York Giants: A.J. Brown, WR, Ole Miss
The Giants acquired this pick for Odell Beckham Jr. (check out the NFL Trade Grades for analysis.) They no longer have a No. 1 receiver, so perhaps they’ll attempt to fix that problem with this choice.

A.J. Brown has a tremendous athleticism, and he’s been a great weapon for Ole Miss the past couple of years despite their turmoil. Unlike his more-athletic teammate, D.K. Metcalf, Brown was actually productive while in school.

  2. Minnesota Vikings: Jonah Williams, OT, Alabama
The Vikings overpaid for Kirk Cousins, so now they have to transition from a defensive team to an offensive one. An improved offensive line will allow Cousins to survive until Week 17, when he can once again choke with a playoff bid on the line.

Jonah Williams had a great freshman year as Alabama’s right tackle. He then took over on the blind side with Cam Robinson gone. Charlie Campbell spoke to sources who believe Williams will be taken in the second half of the opening round. Short arm length is a big concern for Williams.

  3. Tennessee Titans: Cody Ford, OT/G, Oklahoma
It’s still difficult to believe that Marcus Mariota was sacked 11 times in a single game. The interior of Tennessee’s offensive line needs a ton of work. The addition of someone like Cody Ford would be a great start.

Ford didn’t test well athletically at the combine, but he’s a powerful guard who will block well for Mariota and also open big running lanes for Derrick Henry.

  4. Pittsburgh Steelers: Devin Bush, LB, Michigan
Pittsburgh’s defense has taken a big step backward ever since it lost Ryan Shazier to his unfortunate injury. I have to believe that the Steelers will be interested in a highly athletic linebacker like Devin Bush to take Shazier’s place.

Bush is an explosive linebacker who could be the second player at the position off the board in the first round, following Devin White.

  5. Seattle Seahawks: T.J. Hockenson, TE, Iowa
The Seahawks could stand to give Russell Wilson a viable intermediate target, as Jimmy Graham has been missed.

T.J. Hockenson is considered the top all-around tight end in the 2019 NFL Draft class. He’s a very talented receiver and a skilled blocker as well. He was great at the combine.

  6. Baltimore Ravens: Josh Jacobs, RB, Alabama
The Ravens clearly need to run the ball as well as possible with Lamar Jackson as their quarterback going forward. They had a good ground game to close out the year, but struggled when playing the Chargers. They need a real, dominant back to complement Jackson.

Josh Jacobs is a power runner who can make athletic cuts. He has loads of potential, and sources Charlie Campbell has spoken to have ranted and raved about Jacobs.

  7. Houston Texans: Andre Dillard, OT, Washington State
The Texans planned on pursuing Trent Brown in free agency, but missed out on him. They’ll have to look toward the 2019 NFL Draft to obtain a much-needed solid presence on the blind side to provide protection for Deshaun Watson.

Andre Dillard is a love-hate prospect. Some teams think he’s a Round 3-4 prospect, but others believe he could go late in the first frame. Perhaps there are more people will the latter belief after his stellar combine performance.

  8. Oakland Raiders: Brian Burns, DE/OLB, Florida State
The Raiders must address their pass rush early in the 2019 NFL Draft unless they’re able to acquire some talents in free agency.

Brian Burns needs to bulk up quite a bit, but he has a long frame, so he has the potential to fill out. Some mock drafts had Burns as a top-10 pick, but sources Charlie Campbell has spoken to believe Burns is a second-round prospect (read more in the NFL Hot Press.) That said, there aren’t 32 first-round prospects in this class, so someone like Burns could sneak into the opening frame if a team likes him enough.

  9. Philadelphia Eagles: Chris Lindstrom, G, Boston College
Doug Pederson learned from Andy Reid that bolstering the trenches is a major key to success. The Eagles may not have Brandon Brooks next year because of an injury he suffered in the playoffs, which is problematic because they already had a need at guard.

Chris Lindstrom is solid in all aspects and showed more athleticism than many anticipated at the combine.

Pick change; previously Dre’Mont Jones, DT

  10. Indianapolis Colts: DeAndre Baker, CB, Georgia
The Colts were 20th in pass defense efficiency last year. Both their pass rush and secondary were responsible for this, so Indianapolis can take a big step toward correcting this problem by obtaining the top cornerback in the 2019 NFL Draft. The 2019 corner class is one of the weakest I’ve ever seen at the position, but DeAndre Baker is a decent value at No. 26 overall.

Baker had a terrific 2017 campaign, showing great athleticism. He was great last season as well, especially against LSU.

  11. Oakland Raiders: Greedy Williams, CB, LSU
The Raiders must spend at least two of their three first-round picks on defensive players, one of which could be a cornerback.

Greedy Williams had a spectacular freshman season with six interceptions. Williams has great size (6-2, 182) and speed, but teams have given him second-round grades.

Pick change; previously Greedy Williams, CB

  12. Los Angeles Chargers: Dre’Mont Jones, DT, Ohio State
The Patriots ran over the Chargers in the divisional round of the playoffs. The Chargers need to get stronger in the defensive interior.

Dre’Mont Jones has a first-round skill set, according to sources Charlie Campbell reached out to. He struggled a bit at the combine, but his Ohio State tape should keep him in top-25 contention.

Pick change; previously Chris Lindstrom, G

  13. Kansas City Chiefs: Dexter Lawrence, DT, Clemson
The Chiefs need secondary and linebacker help, but they’re getting the best player available with this selection. Andy Reid loves to take second chances on players, so I think this makes sense.

Dexter Lawrence is a monster of a defensive tackle (6-5, 340) and is exceptional at both stuffing the run and pressuring the quarterback. He has fallen in mock drafts because of his positive drug test.

  14. Green Bay Packers: Johnathan Abram, S, Mississippi State
The Packers should go after a safety after trading away Ha Ha Clinton-Dix. They could easily select one at this juncture or in the second round.

Johnathan Abram is a forceful, physical run defender who has good coverage skills.

Pick change; previously Taylor Rapp, S

  15. Los Angeles Rams: Byron Murphy, CB, Washington
The Rams didn’t have very good cornerback play last year for the most part, as Marcus Peters was hardly the same player he once was. I imagine that Los Angeles will consider one of the falling cornerbacks late in the first round.

Byron Murphy is a very instinctive, ball-hawking cornerback. I’ve had him high in my 2020 NFL Mock Draft, but he declared despite being a redshirt sophomore. Murphy received second-round grades from the draft committee, but there aren’t 32 first-round-caliber prospects in this class, so Murphy could sneak into the end of Day 1.

Pick change; previously Greedy Williams, CB

  16. New England Patriots: Jeffery Simmons, DE/DT, Mississippi State
The Patriots once selected Dominique Easley in the first round even though it was clear that he was a major injury risk. Given that, I think it’s certainly possible that New England will use their first pick on Jeffery Simmons, who, according to Charlie Campbell’s reports, still has a chance to be chosen late in the opening round. Simmons, of course, tore his ACL, but he’s a top-10 talent and should be viewed as a steal at No. 32 overall.
