  1. Cleveland Browns: Mason Cole, C, Michigan
I have to imagine that the Browns are growing tired of Cameron Erving’s ineptitude at center. Here’s someone to challenge him.

Pick change; previously Tyler Orlosky, C

  2. San Francisco 49ers: Pat Mahomes, QB, Texas Tech
The quarterback the 49ers choose in the first three rounds obviously depends on whether Chip Kelly is still around. I don’t know why the 49ers would hang on to the worst head coach in the NFL, but they’ve done much dumber things.

Kelly prefers quarterbacks who release the ball quickly and fire passes accurately. That’s pretty much Pat Mahomes in a nutshell. Some teams see Mahomes as a second-day prospect, so the 49ers could certainly take him with this selection.

  3. Jacksonville Jaguars: Brad Kaaya, QB, Miami
Brad Kaaya’s stock has slipped, but he’s definitely a bargain in the third round. The Jaguars could consider taking him, as they can’t really bench Blake Bortles because they don’t have an alternative. Drafting a quarterback who actually cares about football would be nice.

  4. Chicago Bears: Courtland Sutton, WR, SMU
Alshon Jeffery is an impending free agent. He has had trouble staying healthy, so it’s hard to imagine the Bears giving him a long-term contract. Here’s an insurance policy.

  5. New York Jets: Jamar Summers, CB, Connecticut
The Jets have to address both positions in their secondary. Cornerback help is more important, as Darrelle Revis has regressed into one of the worst players at his position in the entire league.

Pick change; previously Cordrea Tankersley, CB

  6. Cincinnati Bengals: Donnie Miles, S, North Carolina
There are a couple of reasons why the Bengals are floundering this season. A major factor is the declining play of the secondary. Pacman Jones has regressed, while Reggie Nelson’s absence has been a major problem. Here’s some help for the latter issue.

Pick change; previously Isaiah Ford, WR

  7. 3
  8. Tennessee Titans: Budda Baker, S, Washington
As mentioned in the write-up of their first pick, the Titans have to address both secondary positions. They didn’t take a safety with their second opening-rounder, so here we are.

  9. Carolina Panthers: Wayne Gallman, RB, Clemson
Ron Rivera hasn’t expressed much confidence in Cameron Artis-Payne, so perhaps the Panthers will take a new running back in the first half of the 2017 NFL Draft.

Pick change; previously Adam Bisnowaty, OT

  10. Arizona Cardinals: Cooper Kupp, WR, Eastern Washington
Larry Fitzgerald has mulled over retirement, but even if he keeps playing, it’ll be difficult to retain Michael Floyd, who will be entering free agency come March.

  11. New Orleans Saints: Daeshon Hall, DE, Texas A&M
The Saints could use help everywhere on defense, and adding yet another edge rusher definitely has to be on their checklist. Considering the quarterbacks in their division, they have to be able to generate as much pressure as possible.

Pick change; previously Bradley Chubb, DE

  12. Philadelphia Eagles: Isaiah Ford, WR, Virginia Tech
The Eagles will need to spend an early-round pick on a receiver, as Jordan Matthews and Dorial Green-Beckham don’t exactly strike fear into the hearts of opposing defensive coordinators. Nelson Agholor won’t stop dropping passes.

Pick change; previously Samaje Perine, RB

  13. San Diego Chargers: Amara Darboh, WR, Michigan
Given how injury-prone Keenan Allen has been, I could see the Chargers adding some talent to their receiving corps.

Pick change; previously Donnie Miles, S

  14. Indianapolis Colts: Cameron Sutton, CB, Tennessee
The Colts only have one talented cornerback in Vontae Davis, and they are absolutely brutal against the pass even when Davis is in the lineup.

  15. Green Bay Packers: Marquis Haynes, DE/OLB, Ole Miss
The Packers place great pressure on opposing quarterbacks with Julius Peppers and Nick Perry, but both happen to be impending free agents. Peppers turns 37 in January, while Perry could prove to be too expensive to retain.

Pick change; previously Hasson Reddick, DE/OLB

  16. Tennessee Titans: Jordan Leggett, TE, Clemson
Delanie Walker turns 33 this offseason, so the Titans might have interest in adding a successor.

  17. Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Dede Westbrook, WR, Oklahoma
Vincent Jackson won’t be on the roster much longer, so the Buccaneers will have to think about finding a new No. 2 receiver.

Pick change; previously Hasson Reddick, DE/OLB

  18. Pittsburgh Steelers: Mason Rudolph, QB, Oklahoma State
It’s time for the Steelers to develop a viable backup behind Ben Roethlisberger because Landry Jones has been horrible.

  19. Buffalo Bills: Jeremy McNichols, RB, Boise State
The Bills appeared to have a great one-two punch at running back, but Karlos Williams ruined that. Here’s a better backup than Mike Gillislee.

Pick change; previously D’Onta Foreman, RB

  20. Minnesota Vikings: Tyler Orlosky, C, West Virginia
Joe Berger has played well at center for the Vikings this season, but he may have priced himself out of the Vikings’ range as a consequence. If Minnesota can’t re-sign him this offseason, it’ll have to find another center.

Pick change; previously Wayne Gallman, RB

  21. Denver Broncos: Adam Bisnowaty, OT, Pittsburgh
Donald Stephenson has been one of the worst offensive tackles in the NFL this season, and he’s been called out by Gary Kubiak recently. The Broncos will be searching for a new right tackle if Stephenson doesn’t improve.

Pick change; previously Steven Taylor, LB

  22. Baltimore Ravens: James Washington, WR, Oklahoma State
Steve Smith doesn’t have much time remaining in the NFL, and the same thing could be said about Breshad Perriman if he doesn’t prove himself. Baltimore spending an early-round pick on a receiver shouldn’t surprise anyone.

Pick change; previously Dede Westbrook, WR

  23. Houston Texans: Marcus Williams, S, Utah
The Texans have a great front seven – or at least the will when J.J. Watt returns from injury – but the secondary definitely needs work. The safety situation is a big problem, and I’d be shocked if Houston didn’t address it next offseason.

  24. Washington Redskins: Dorian Johnson, G, Pittsburgh
Washington’s offensive line has played well this year, but the team has to find an upgrade over guard Shawn Lauvao. A mid-round selection can be used on one.

  25. Detroit Lions: Jarron Jones, DE/DT, Notre Dame
Detroit’s defensive line is very strong on the edge (when Ziggy Ansah is in the lineup), but the team has yet to find a worthy replacement for Ndamukong Suh. The Lions’ inability to get to opposing quarterbacks needs to be fixed.

Pick change; previously Brandon Facyson, CB

  26. Minnesota Vikings: Elijah Qualls, DT, Washington
Tom Johnson does a great job providing depth behind Sharrif Floyd and Linval Joseph, but he turns 33 this offseason, so Minnesota will need to find new depth up front.

  27. Atlanta Falcons: Davon Godchaux, DT, LSU
The Falcons are pretty soft against the run up the middle, so they should think about spending an early choice on an interior defensive lineman.

Pick change; previously Amara Darboh, WR

  28. Seattle Seahawks: Taylor Moton, OT, Western Michigan
The Seahawks have yet to address their offensive line in this 2017 NFL Mock Draft, which is probably a mistake. They have some major issues at tackle.

  29. Kansas City Chiefs: Ryan Anderson, DE/OLB, Alabama
Tamba Hali won’t be around forever, so the Chiefs should think about adding some depth to their edge rush.

  30. New York Giants: Carlos Watkins, DT, Clemson
The Giants spent tons of money on their defensive line, but it hasn’t produced as expected. Adding a player who can generate interior pressure will be important.

  31. New England Patriots: Deatrich Wise Jr., DE/DT, Arkansas
The Patriots never found a replacement for Dominique Easley, so here’s someone who can provide a solid interior pass rush.

Pick change; previously Deatrich Wise, DE/DT

  32. Oakland Raiders: Jake Replogle, DT, Purdue
The Raiders figure to spend multiple resources next offseason fixing the interior of their defense, which has not performed well this year.

Pick change; previously Davon Godchaux, DT

  33. Dallas Cowboys: Bradley Chubb, DE, N.C. State
The Cowboys could stand to bolster their pass rush, which tends to be pretty inconsistent. It would help if Randy Gregory could play, but Dallas has to move on as if he won’t be part of the team going forward.

Pick change; previously Daeshon Hall, DE
