  1. San Francisco 49ers: JuJu Smith-Schuster, WR, USC
I don’t understand why the 49ers avoided addressing the receiver position until late in the 2016 NFL Draft. How did they not realize that they have such a huge need in that area?

Pick change; previously Courtland Sutton, WR

  2. Cleveland Browns: Roderick Johnson, OT, Florida State
Roderick Johnson has fallen into the second round after a rough start to his rookie campaign, but the Browns might be interested, as he could offer an upgrade to a troublesome right tackle spot.

Pick change; previously Eddie Jackson, S

  3. Los Angeles Rams: Pat Elflein, C/G, Ohio State
The Rams have been weak at center for what seems like decades. OK, it hasn’t been that long, but the position has been a problem for them for a very long time. It’s time to finally end that.

  4. Atlanta Falcons: Julie’n Davenport, OT, Bucknell
Ryan Schraeder has played well for the Falcons at right tackle, but he’s an impending free agent. Perhaps Atlanta fans won’t be so possessive of Schraeder if they can acquire Julie’n Davenport, a rising prospect.

  5. San Diego Chargers: Davis Webb, QB, California
Philip Rivers turns 35 in December, so it might be time for the Chargers to find a successor for him.

  6. Buffalo Bills: Jalen Reeves-Maybin, LB, Tennessee
Three of Buffalo’s linebackers, including Manny Lawson, have expiring contracts after this season, so another second-round pick could be used on the position.

  7. New Orleans Saints: Dan Feeney, G, Indiana
Dan Feeney won’t be able to teach his teammates much until he’s a veteran, but he could provide an upgrade on the interior of the offensive line, which is a weak point of the Saints’ scoring unit right now.

  8. Indianapolis Colts: Anthony Walker, ILB, Northwestern
The Colts just might have the slowest linebacking corps in the history of the NFL. Detroit’s two running backs danced circles around Indianapolis’ defense, so this obviously needs to change.

Pick change; previously Carl Lawson, DE/OLB

  9. Dallas Cowboys: Courtland Sutton, WR, SMU
The Cowboys could use someone as physically talented as Courtland Sutton across from Dez Bryant, as Terrance Williams isn’t cutting it.

Pick change; previously Travin Dural, WR

  10. Philadelphia Eagles: Cooper Kupp, WR, Eastern Washington
The Eagles have nothing across from Jordan Matthews, aside from some projects like Dorial Green-Beckham and Paul Turner. If neither steps up this year, Philadelphia will be in the market for a new No. 2 receiver.

Pick change; previously Isaiah Ford, WR

  11. Cleveland Browns: Chris Wormley, DE/DT, Michigan
Desmond Bryant, 31 in December, will be entering his contract year after the 2016 campaign, all while coming off a torn ACL. The Browns spent a third-round pick on Carl Nassib this past April, but perhaps another early choice could be used on the defensive line.

Pick change; previously DeMarcus Walker, DE/DT

  12. Jacksonville Jaguars: Dorian Johnson, G, Pittsburgh
The Jaguars are trying Luke Joeckel at guard, but it doesn’t appear as though he’s cutting it there either. They’ll have to spend an early selection on a guard.

Pick change; previously Jourdan Lewis, CB

  13. Miami Dolphins: Dawuane Smoot, DE, Illinois
The Dolphins have a pair of aging edge rushers in Cameron Wake and Mario Williams, so they’ll need some young blood at defensive end sometime in the near future.

Pick change; previously Davon Godchaux, DT

  14. Chicago Bears: Chad Kelly, QB, Ole Miss
It was surprising that the Bears avoided drafting a quarterback. Perhaps they just didn’t like anyone in the 2016 class. They’ll likely choose someone early in the 2017 NFL Draft.

  15. Washington Redskins: Justin Evans, S, Texas A&M
Bashaud Breeland took a lot of blame for Washington’s loss to Pittsburgh, but David Bruton struggled as well. The Redskins may want to upgrade him this upcoming offseason.

Pick change; previously Chris Wormley, DE/DT

  16. New York Jets: Tim Williams, DE/OLB, Alabama
The Jets just spent a third-round pick on an edge rusher, but I don’t think Jordan Jenkins will be enough to cure their need for an exterior pass-rusher.

  17. Baltimore Ravens: Jourdan Lewis, CB, Michigan
It was surprising to see the Ravens ignore their need for a cornerback until the fourth round of this past draft. I don’t expect that to happen again.

Pick change; previously Anthony Walker, ILB

  18. Detroit Lions: Marshaun Lattimore, CB, Ohio State
The Lions have a stud cornerback in Darius Slay, but they have a void across from him. Rashean Mathis has retired, and that need wasn’t filled this past offseason.

  19. Oakland Raiders: Carl Lawson, DE/OLB, Auburn
Aldon Smith can’t be trusted to stay out of trouble, so the Raiders, who didn’t put much pressure on Drew Brees, need to think about finding help across from Khalil Mack.

Pick change; previously Reuben Foster, ILB

  20. Seattle Seahawks: Marquis Haynes, DE/OLB, Ole Miss
I thought there was a good chance that the Seahawks would upgrade their edge rush this offseason, but they didn’t pull the trigger. They can make amends for that at this juncture.

Pick change; previously Daeshon Hall, DE/OLB

  21. New York Giants: Wayne Gallman, RB, Clemson
The Giants are pretty weak at running back, as the injury-prone Rashad Jennings is the favorite to lead the team in carries this year. That’s obviously not great news, so New York could opt to select a solid prospect at the position.

  22. Denver Broncos: Jarron Jones, DE/DT, Notre Dame
Even if Adam Gotsis pans out, the Broncos could stand to spend an early draft choice on a defensive end, as they need to get Jared Crick out of their rotation.

Pick change; previously Jake Butt, TE

  23. Kansas City Chiefs: Mitch Leidner, QB, Minnesota
A fax machine error caused Alex Smith to mistakenly be ranked No. 81 in the players’ poll this offseason. The Chiefs will likely be looking for an eventual replacement/upgrade for the most mediocre quarterback in football.

  24. Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Jake Butt, TE, Michigan
The Buccaneers could use another play-maker with Vincent Jackson nearing retirement. There’s an opening at tight end, where Austin Seferian-Jenkins has regressed to the rear of the depth chart.

Pick change; previously Jake Butt, TE

  25. Houston Texans: Da’Shawn Hand, DE/DT, Alabama
The Texans were expected to target a replacement for Jared Crick in the 2016 NFL Draft, but never got a chance to.

  26. Arizona Cardinals: Sidney Jones, CB, Washington
Brandon Williams is the worst starting cornerback in the NFL. He’s so bad that the general manager criticized him publicly. Something needs to change.

  27. Minnesota Vikings: Armani Watts, S, Texas A&M
The Vikings have needed help next to Harrison Smith for quite some time now, so perhaps this is when they’ll finally find a solution.

  28. New England Patriots: Sam Hubbard, DE, Ohio State
The Patriots traded Chandler Jones, but never found someone to replace him. Here’s a potential solution.

  29. Carolina Panthers: Eddie Jackson, S, Alabama
The Panthers spent most of the 2016 NFL Draft upgrading their cornerback position. The safety group also needs to be upgraded.

Pick change; previously Marcus Williams, S

  30. Cincinnati Bengals: Charles Walker, DT, Oklahoma
Andrew Billings appears to be a great value pick, but the Bengals could still stand to add some talent to the interior of their defensive line.

  31. Pittsburgh Steelers: Marcus Williams, S, Utah
The Steelers surrendered some big gains to the Redskins, so they could use some help at safety.

Pick change; previously Isaac Rochell, DE/DT

  32. Green Bay Packers: Samaje Perine, RB, Oklahoma
Eddie Lacy has looked leaner in some pictures he has taken this offseason, and he’s looked great in the preseason. But what if he has relationship issues and eats ice cream every night for a week? He’ll be back where he started, prompting the Packers to find a new running back.
