*** 2016 NFL MOCK DRAFT (3 rounds) updated Oct. 28. This NFL Mock Draft will be updated occasionally for important events. Check out old versions of this 2016 NFL Mock Draft in the archived mock section. Follow @walterfootball for NFL Draft updates. ***
  1. Baltimore Ravens: Joey Bosa, DE, Ohio State
An overreaction to Terrell Suggs’ injury? Perhaps, but Suggs may never be the same coming off his second Achilles tear. Pernell McPhee is also long gone, so Baltimore could look into obtaining a pass-rusher in the first round this April.

Besides, Joey Bosa is the top prospect who makes sense here, though Charlie Campbell recently reported that Bosa is regarded by some as a 5-7 overall player; not a top prospect as many believe he is. You can read all about it in the NFL Draft Rumor Mill. However, the one caveat is that Bosa could rise in a weaker class, and I have to think the Ravens would love to grab him in an attempt to improve their underwhelming defense.

    Follow @walterfootball for updates.

  2. Detroit Lions: Laremy Tunsil, OT, Ole Miss
The Lions upgraded the guard position in the 2015 draft, but they still have a huge hole at right tackle. Riley Reiff is playing poorly as well on the blind side. I can’t imagine them failing to address this void two years in a row, and they are now in position to grab one of the top two tackles in this class. Save for the Chicago game, Matthew Stafford is having an awful season, but he can improve with better blocking. Thus, I can’t see the Lions eschewing the chance to draft Laremy Tunsil.

Pick change; previously Ronnie Stanley, OT

  3. Tennessee Titans: Jalen Ramsey, S/CB, Florida State
The Titans have major issues on defense, as they just allowed Miami to have an offensive explosion. One of their many glaring holes is at the safety position, where Michael Griffin has been terrible for years. The front office finally needs to stop screwing around and upgrade him as soon as possible, and they can do so with the best defensive back prospect in this class.

As Charlie Campbell reported, some teams are concerned about Ramsey moving to cornerback this season, but he’ll ultimately find a home at safety in the NFL, given that he’s seen as such a special talent at that position.

  4. Jacksonville Jaguars: Ronnie Stanley, OT, Notre Dame
Can the Jaguars give up on Luke Joeckel yet? It may seem soon, but remember, he was the No. 2 overall pick in the 2013 NFL Draft. By the time the 2016 NFL Draft rolls around, that’ll be three disappointing seasons, and Joeckel will be entering his contract year, anyway. So, yeah, I think Jacksonville will draft an elite left tackle, given the opportunity. Joeckel simply can’t protect Blake Bortles, so the Jaguars need to find a better option before they ruin their quarterback, much like the Texans did with David Carr.

Pick change; previously Laremy Tunsil, OT

  5. San Diego Chargers: Robert Nkemdiche, DE/DT, Ole Miss
The Chargers re-signed Corey Liuget to a $30 million contract this past offseason, so I don’t know how much money they want to invest in their defensive line. This is significant, as Kendall Reyes happens to be a free agent at the end of this year. San Diego may want to obtain someone more consistent up front anyway, as Reyes is having a terrible season.

The teams we’ve spoken to aren’t as impressed with Robert Nkemdiche as the national media is, so it wouldn’t be surprising to slip into the 8-12 range. However, he’s the top prospect available who makes sense for San Diego at this juncture.

Pick change; previously A’Shawn Robinson, DE/DT

  6. Houston Texans: Jared Goff, QB, California
Breaking news: The Texans need help at quarterback. Yeah, shocking, I know – I just heard this from my sources. In all seriousness, Houston will definitely be scouting these signal-callers hard, and I have to believe that Jared Goff would have the edge right now.

Some teams have concerns about the offense in which Goff plays in, but his pocket awareness and movement, as well as his intelligence have stood out. Things could change – and knowing how fluid the draft process is, they probably will – but Goff appears to be the top quarterback prospect right now.

Pick change; previously Jaylon Smith, LB

  7. Cleveland Browns: Paxton Lynch, QB, Memphis
The Browns weren’t in position to draft a quarterback in my previous mock, but they definitely are now – and it definitely helps that there currently appear to be three top-10 signal-caller prospects again in the wake of Paxton Lynch’s amazing season.

We haven’t spoken to our NFL sources about Lynch yet, but unless he struggles to close out the year, I have to believe that he’ll grade out as a top-10 prospect. Even if he doesn’t, teams get desperate and reach for quarterbacks. The Browns obviously need one, as Johnny Manziel is an idiot who has no future (or present) in the NFL.

Pick change; previously Robert Nkemdiche, DE/DT

  8. San Francisco 49ers: Vernon Hargreaves, CB, Florida
The 49ers lost a ton of talented players on the defensive side of the ball this past offseason. This included their top two cornerbacks. As a consequence, they haven’t been able to stop any passing attacks. Eli Manning even had success throwing to no-name scrubs on a recent Sunday night.

  9. Kansas City Chiefs: Connor Cook, QB, Michigan State
Andy Reid is a very stubborn individual, but even he has to admit that the Alex Smith experiment is failing. The Chiefs, barring some sort of inexplicable second-half surge, almost have to give up on Smith this offseason. If so, they’ll target a quarterback early in the 2016 NFL Draft.

Connor Cook has some accuracy and consistency issues that NFL teams are legitimately worried about, but once again, teams will reach for quarterbacks, so he should end up being a top-10 selection.

  10. Chicago Bears: Jaylon Smith, LB, Notre Dame
Things may change, but the Bears are now out of position to draft a quarterback. They have plenty of other needs, however, so perhaps avoiding these slightly underwhelming signal-callers won’t be such a bad thing.

One big need is at linebacker. Shea McClellin has been better than expected, but he still struggles in coverage. He’s a free agent anyhow, so if he leaves, the Bears could slide Christian Jones into the middle, opening up room for the impressive Jaylon Smith.

Pick change; previously Jared Goff, QB

  11. Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Taylor Decker, OT, Ohio State
The Buccaneers drafted Donovan Smith to go with Demar Dotson, but Smith has struggled mightily thus far, so perhaps he could move inside. Also, with Dotson, he’ll be entering his contract season as a soon-to-be 31-year-old, so this could be a long-term solution.

Pick change; previously Jack Conklin, OT

  12. Dallas Cowboys: Laquon Treadwell, WR, Ole Miss
Jerry Jones loves to draft talented receivers who fall to him, and Laquon Treadwell could be his next target. It’s not like the Cowboys couldn’t use Treadwell; they’ve been devoid of talented weapons in the wake of Dez Bryant’s injury, so even though Brandon Weeden and Matt Cassel have been terrible, they haven’t really had much of a chance.

Pick change; previously Tyler Boyd, WR

  13. New Orleans Saints: Leonard Floyd, DE/OLB, Georgia
The Saints spent a second-day selection on Hau’oli Kikaha, but they’ll have to use another early pick on someone who can get to the quarterback. With Junior Galette gone, the pass-rushing options are minimal.

Pick change; previously Laquon Treadwell, WR

  14. Oakland Raiders: Myles Jack, LB/RB, UCLA
The Raiders have some solid building blocks on defense, but they still need lots of help on this side of the ball, particularly at linebacker. Myles Jack would provide a big boost in the lacking middle of Oakland’s stop unit, and he also happens to be one of the best prospects available at this juncture, so he makes sense for multiple reasons.

And yes, Jack is still a first-rounder. In fact, he could go much higher than this. Jack tore his ACL, yet he’s still in play as a top-10 pick. Todd Gurley was chosen No. 10 overall despite his knee injury, and Jack got hurt so early that he’ll be ready for the 2016 NFL season opener.

  15. Buffalo Bills: Reggie Ragland, ILB, Alabama
The run on linebackers continues. The Bills definitely need one. They’ve gotten horrific play out of their linebacking corps this season, and it doesn’t help that Nigel Bradham will be a free agent in March. Reggie Ragland makes a ton of sense here and seems perfect for Rex Ryan’s defense.

Pick change; previously Leonard Floyd, DE/OLB

  16. Philadelphia Eagles: Tre’Davious White, CB, LSU
Nolan Carroll has played extremely well this season. However, he’s an impending free agent, so his strong 2015 campaign could earn him a solid pay day elsewhere. Meanwhile, Byron Maxwell continues to struggle, while Eric Rowe’s future could be at safety. A cornerback makes sense here.

Pick change; previously Scooby Wright, DE/OLB
