  1. Cleveland Browns: Kevin Dodd, DE, Clemson
I’m aware that the Browns need receivers, and don’t worry, I’ll be mocking several to them. However, I don’t see how they pass up someone as talented as Kevin Dodd, who can play multiple positions in their defense. Cleveland has a lackluster pass rush that would definitely be bolstered by this selection.

  2. Tennessee Titans: Xavien Howard, CB, Baylor
The Titans were going to select Jalen Ramsey had they not traded out of the top spot. They desperately need cornerback help, and Xavien Howard is one of a couple of possibilities atop Round 2.

  3. Dallas Cowboys: Corey Coleman, WR, Baylor
The Cowboys have a huge hole across from Dez Bryant, and I’m sure they’d love to fill it with the ultra-athletic Corey Coleman, who could be considered a steal at this juncture.

  4. San Diego Chargers: A’Shawn Robinson, DE/DT, Alabama
The Chargers obviously have to address the trenches, but they have to find upgrades on the defensive side as well. They were gashed against the run on a weakly basis, so obtaining help up front is essential.

It might be surprising to see A’Shawn Robinson in the second round, but he interviewed poorly, and his passion for football is highly questionable.

Pick change; previously Hunter Henry, TE

  5. Baltimore Ravens: Mackensie Alexander, CB, Clemson
The Ravens are probably going to pass on Vernon Hargreaves at No. 6 because they believe they can land a talented cornerback at this juncture. And that’s exactly what has happened, as Mackensie Alexander is talented enough to be a first-round pick.

By the way, special thanks to Mackensie Alexander for publishing his Draft Diary on this site. It’s a great read if you haven’t checked it out yet.

  6. San Francisco 49ers: Derrick Henry, RB, Alabama
Derrick Henry to the 49ers? Don’t they have Carlos Hyde? Sure, but Chip Kelly is crazy and wants as many talented running backs as possible. Plus, Hyde isn’t completely proven, and San Francisco may not want to pass up on such a great talent like Henry.

  7. Jacksonville Jaguars: Artie Burns, CB, Miami
A number of cornerbacks are expected to go off the board atop the second round, and that includes Artie Burns. The Jaguars will certainly be interested in one, and Burns has the size they covet.

  8. Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Keanu Neal, S, Florida
The Buccaneers managed to re-sign Chris Conte, but they still need another safety to go along with a cornerback they’re surely bound to draft. Keanu Neal could be chosen at the end of the first round, so he’s a steal at this juncture.

  9. New York Giants: Tyler Boyd, WR, Pittsburgh
The Giants are searching for any sort of impactful wideout, as they need a No. 2 receiver to start across from Odell Beckham Jr.

  10. Chicago Bears: Chris Jones, DE/DT, Mississippi State
One of Chicago’s biggest needs is at defensive end; the team never obtained the proper pieces in the trenches for their new 3-4 defense, so here’s their chance to do so.

Pick change; previously Kamalei Correa, DE/OLB

  11. Miami Dolphins: Germain Ifedi, OT/G, Texas A&M
The Dolphins addressed their secondary in the first round, so they can opt for an interior offensive lineman at this spot. Upgrading the guard position is a must.

  12. Tennessee Titans: Michael Thomas, WR, Ohio State
The Titans need help at receiver to go along with Dorial Green-Beckham, as Kendall Wright has proven to be a disappointment.

  13. Oakland Raiders: Darian Thompson, S, Boise State
Darian Thompson had a rough Combine, but as Tony Pauline reported, Thompson was dealing with an illness. The Raiders like Thompson, as they need a safety to go along with the newly acquired Reggie Nelson.

  14. Tennessee Titans: Austin Hooper, TE, Stanford
With three second-round choices, it wouldn’t be a surprise if the Titans used one of them to grab a successor for Delanie Walker, who turns 32 in August.

  15. Detroit Lions: Vonn Bell, S, Ohio State
The Lions lost some key personnel this offseason, and now safety is one of their glaring areas of weakness. They’ll consider the position on the second day of the draft, especially if Vonn Bell is available to them in the second round.

Pick change; previously Shilique Calhoun, DE

  16. New Orleans Saints: Kenny Clark, DT, UCLA
We all know how bad New Orleans’ secondary is, but part of the problem is that the team hasn’t gotten any sort of push up front. It’s especially dire at defensive tackle, where 80-year-old Kevin Williams was the team’s best player last year. Something absolutely needs to be done about that. Nick Fairley was signed, but that was just to a 1-year deal, so I don’t think he’ll affect this choice.

  17. Indianapolis Colts: Hunter Henry, TE, Arkansas
The Colts lost Coby Fleener in free agency, and while they still have Dwayne Allen, they tried to sign a tight end in free agency, so they may want to find another talented player at the position.

Pick change; previously Noah Spence, DE/OLB

  18. Buffalo Bills: Yannick Ngakoue, DE/OLB, Maryland
Defensive end is a big need in the wake of Mario Williams’ lethargy and subsequent departure, so the Bills are expected to address the position early in the draft.

  19. Atlanta Falcons: Justin Simmons, S, Boston College
William Moore was too injury-prone to rely upon, so the Falcons parted ways with him this offseason. All they have now are a couple of mediocre players at safety, so they could use a dynamic play-maker at the position.

  20. New York Jets: Kyler Fackrell, LB, Utah State
One of New York’s biggest needs is at inside linebacker, and they even needed one prior to Demario Davis’ departure. Kyler Fackrell has the length the Jets prefer at linebacker.

Pick change; previously Jason Spriggs, OT

  21. Houston Texans: Nick Martin, C, Notre Dame
The Texans lost Ben Jones this offseason, but they won’t miss him that much because of his mediocre play. That said, the center position will need to be addressed on the second day of the draft.

Pick change; previously Jaylon Smith, LB

  22. Washington Redskins: Leonte Carroo, WR, Rutgers
Both DeSean Jackson and Pierre Garcon are entering their contract seasons, so they’re expected to add a receiver at some point in Rounds 2-4 of the 2016 NFL Draft.

Pick change; previously Hassan Ridgeway, NT

  23. Minnesota Vikings: Robert Nkemdiche, DE/DT, Ole Miss
The Vikings have been poking around some defensive tackles throughout the pre-draft process, so perhaps they’ll target Robert Nkemdiche, who has the size Mike Zimmer covets.

Pick change; previously Su’a Cravens, S

  24. Cincinnati Bengals: Emmanuel Ogbah, DE, Oklahoma State
The Bengals have shown interest in Emmanuel Ogbah, who is a steal at this juncture. Defensive end isn’t one of the top needs, but Cincinnati could use a better edge rusher. Besides, Ogbah is just too good to pass on.

Pick change; previously Karl Joseph, S

  25. Seattle Seahawks: Alex McCalister, DE/OLB, Florida
Seattle continues to improve its pass rush. Brandon Mebane signed with the Chargers this offseason, but he needed to be upgraded anyway. The Seahawks need someone better on the edge in addition to an interior rusher.

Pick change; previously Robert Nkemdiche, DT

  26. Green Bay Packers: Jihad Ward, DE/DT, Illinois
This will make more sense in the final mock, but Jihad Ward would be another nice piece the Packers could add to their mediocre defensive front. Ward will complement the final mock’s first-rounder rather well.

Pick change; previously Jerell Adams, TE

  27. Pittsburgh Steelers: Karl Joseph, S, West Virginia
The Steelers are going to have a hole at one of the safety spots next year. Michael Mitchell has played well, but Will Allen is a 34-year-old impending free agent. Shamarko Thomas can’t get on the field, so I’m not sure he’ll be in Pittsburgh’s future plans if the team can obtain a talented safety early in the 2016 NFL Draft.

Pick change; previously Vonn Bell, S

  28. Kansas City Chiefs: Cody Whitehair, G/OT, Kansas State
The Chiefs lost their best blocker this offseason when Jeff Allen departed via free agency. It wouldn’t be a surprise if Kansas City selected a guard early on as a result.

  29. New England Patriots: Eric Murray, CB, Minnesota
The Patriots are well off at cornerback right now, but that could change rather soon; their starting corners have expiring contracts next March, so it could be difficult to retain them both.

Pick change; previously Sean Davis, S

  30. New England Patriots: Kenneth Dixon, RB, Louisiana Tech
LeGarrette Blount has re-signed, but for only one year. Bill Belichick will probably try to find someone to pair with Dion Lewis for the long haul.

  31. Carolina Panthers: Su’a Cravens, S/LB, USC
Per our Pro Day Results page, Tony Pauline reported that the Panthers have scary levels of interest in Su’a Cravens. I initially was confused, given that Carolina drafted a similar-type player last year in Shaq Thompson. However, Thompson is more linebacker, while Cravens is more of a safety, so it would make sense for the team to have two interchangeable linebacker-safety hybrids.

Pick change; previously Sheldon Day, DT

  32. Denver Broncos: Christian Westerman, G, Arizona State
The Broncos have some issues on their offensive line that need to be addressed. Losing Evan Mathis was absolutely huge.
