Last update: Tuesday, Nov. 19, 2013. Major changes in all 3 rounds.
Next update: Next week. Follow me @walterfootball for updates.

The order of this 2014 NFL Mock Draft is based on my NFL Power Rankings.

*** THIS IS A LIVE 2014 NFL MOCK DRAFT. PICKS ARE BEING POSTED NOW. TO SEE PREVIOUS VERSIONS, CHECK OUT THE ARCHIVED 2013 NFL MOCK DRAFT SECTION. FOLLOW @walterfootball FOR UPDATES ***

  1. Jacksonville Jaguars: Lache Seastrunk, RB, Baylor
Maurice Jones-Drew is an impending free agent. He’ll likely want to leave such a terrible situation, so the Jaguars will need to find a new running back.

    Follow @walterfootball for updates.

  2. Houston Texans: Tajh Boyd, QB, Clemson
Case Keenum played well prior to the Oakland game, but things started to fall apart for him. If he finishes poorly, the Texans will likely draft a quarterback in the top two rounds.

Tajh Boyd struggled in a big game against Florida State and has some height issues, which is why I’ve moved him down in my mock draft. However, he’s still worthy of being chosen in the 20-40 range.

Pick change; previously Ryan Shazier, LB

  3. Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Austin Seferian-Jenkins, TE, Washington
Teams that spend early selections on quarterbacks often double up on offense. The Buccaneers could use an upgrade at tight end, and the ultra-talented Austin Seferian-Jenkins is the top player available.

Pick change; previously Zach Mettenberger, QB

  4. Atlanta Falcons: Bishop Sankey, RB, Washington
Steven Jackson has been a huge disappointment. He has shown no burst on the rare occasions when he’s been on the field. The Falcons need to just draft a talented running back.

  5. Minnesota Vikings: Zach Mettenberger, QB, LSU
The Vikings paid Josh Freeman $3 million to find out if he can be their long-term franchise quarterback. That’s how desperate they are for one. Christian Ponder isn’t too bad, but he’s not good enough to consistently lead the team in the playoffs.

Pick change; previously Anthony Johnson, DT

  6. Washington Redskins: Ryan Shazier, LB, Ohio State
ESPN loves talking up London Fletcher by saying he’s still great, but he can barely move. He’s one of the reasons the Redskins are so inept on defense.

Pick change; previously Loucheiz Purifoy, CB

  7. Buffalo Bills: Marcus Roberson, CB, Florida
The Bills were expected to address the cornerback position in the 2013 NFL Draft, but never got around to it. They probably won’t avoid that area two years in a row.

  8. Baltimore Ravens: Adrian Hubbard, DE/OLB, Alabama
This may seem like an odd selection with Terrell Suggs and Elvis Dumervil both playing well, but Courtney Upshaw does not look like he’s developing into a potential starter down the road.

  9. Cleveland Browns: Jordan Matthews, WR, Vanderbilt
Brad Nessler called Greg Little “Mr. Dependable.” That’s pretty accurate, but only if you’re depending on Little dropping passes. The Browns need a new No. 2 wideout.

Pick change; previously Lamarcus Joyner, S

  10. Tennessee Titans: Corey Robinson, OT, South Carolina
The Titans are fine at offensive tackle right now, but Michael Roos and David Stewart will be free agents in 2015 and 2014, respectively (the latter has a voidable year after this upcoming season). They’ll need to retool at the position if they don’t re-sign either of the two.

  11. Oakland Raiders: Cyril Richardson, G/OT, Baylor
The Raiders need multiple upgrades on their offensive line. Lucas Nix might be the worst starting guard in the NFL, so he needs to be replaced.

Pick change; previously Justin Gilbert, CB

  12. St. Louis Rams: Anthony Johnson, DT, LSU
Kendall Langford has been a huge disappointment ever since signing a 4-year, $24 million contract in March 2012. The Rams need an upgrade at defensive tackle.

Pick change; previously Kyle Fuller, CB

  13. San Diego Chargers: Trent Murphy, DE/OLB, Stanford
The Chargers were so desperate for help at rush linebacker that they signed Dwight Freeney. The former Colt is obviously not a long-term solution for the team’s pass-rushing woes.

  14. New York Giants: James Hurst, OT, North Carolina
The Giants, who have major pass-protection issues, need to shield Eli Manning as he continues into his mid-30s. William Beatty has struggled on the blind side this year, while Justin Pugh has totally been out of place at right tackle. This pick would allow Pugh to slide into his natural guard position.

Pick change; previously Cameron Erving, OT

  15. Pittsburgh Steelers: Stephon Tuitt, DE/DT, Notre Dame
The Steelers spent a couple of early selections on five-techniques in recent years, but they’ve all disappointed. If that continues – Pittsburgh can’t get any pressure on the quarterback – the front office will have to try someone else.

  16. Miami Dolphins: Kyle Fuller, CB, Virginia Tech
The Dolphins need help at cornerback. Brent Grimes, coming off a torn Achilles, is just a short-term solution. Dimitri Patterson, the other starter, hasn’t been able to stay healthy.

Pick change; previously James Hurst, OT

  17. Dallas Cowboys: Christian Jones, LB, Florida State
Bruce Carter has been a poor fit in Dallas’ new 4-3 system. The Cowboys will have to consider spending an early draft pick on a linebacker.

Pick change; previously Ka’Deem Carey, RB

  18. Green Bay Packers: Yawin Smallwood, ILB, Connecticut
The Packers released Desmond Bishop in the offseason. On top of that, the rapidly aging A.J. Hawk will have an expiring contract soon. Ted Thompson will have to address the inside linebacker position in the near future.

Pick change; previously Christian Jones, LB

  19. Arizona Cardinals: Stephen Morris, QB, Miami
It’s amazing that the Cardinals are 5-4 despite how poorly Carson Palmer has played in most games. He has been guilty of multiple turnovers in seven of 10 contests. Arizona needs to find a franchise quarterback before Larry Fitzgerald loses his mind.

  20. Chicago Bears: Loucheiz Purifoy, CB, Florida
The Bears will have to address their two cornerback positions next offseason, as Charles Tillman and Tim Jennings both have expiring contracts.

Pick change; previously Darqueze Dennard, CB

  21. New York Jets: Brandin Cooks, WR, Oregon State
Here’s a weapon for Geno Smith, as Santonio Holmes won’t be around much longer. Stephen Hill, meanwhile, has been a huge disappointment.

Pick change; previously Yawin Smallwood, ILB

  22. Philadelphia Eagles: Lamarcus Joyner, S, Florida State
Philadelphia’s defense is terrible for many reasons, one of which is the safety position. Nate Allen is garbage, while Patrick Chung can’t stay healthy.

Pick change; previously Brandon Coleman, WR

  23. Detroit Lions: Bryan Stork, C, Florida State
Dominic Raiola has seemingly been on Detroit’s roster forever, but he’ll be a 35-year-old free agent in March. The Lions will probably bring in a new center.

  24. Cincinnati Bengals: Jackson Jeffcoat, DE, Texas
The Bengals drafted Margus Hunt, but they have Michael Johnson hitting free agency soon. With Carlos Dunlap recently extended, it’s very unlikely that Johnson will be retained.

  25. San Francisco 49ers: Allen Robinson, WR, Penn State
Anquan Boldin and Mario Manningham will both be free agents next March. The 49ers will need a new receiver to complement Michael Crabtree.

Pick change; previously Jeremiah Attaochu, DE/OLB

  26. Carolina Panthers: Craig Loston, S, LSU
Here’s some more help for the Carolina secondary. The Panthers don’t exactly have the best safety tandem in the NFL, as Michael Mitchell and Quintin Mikell are both pretty mediocre.

Pick change; previously Allen Robinson, WR

  27. Indianapolis Colts: Ed Stinson, DE/DT, Alabama
I mocked Datone Jones to the Colts for a while in the 2013 NFL Draft because they need a pass-rushing presence up front. That’s still a hole they have to fill, as we learned by watching Indianapolis fail to pressure Case Keenum a couple of Sunday nights ago.

Pick change; previously Gabe Jackson, G

  28. New England Patriots: Travis Swanson, C, Arkansas
Ryan Wendell, an impending free agent, has been most responsible for Tom Brady’s poor pass protection.

  29. New Orleans Saints: Brandon Scherff, OT, Iowa
The Saints don’t value offensive tackles enough to take one in the first round, but perhaps they’ll search for an upgrade over the struggling Charles Brown on Day 2.

Pick change; previously Ed Stinson, DE/DT

  30. San Francisco 49ers: Dominique Easley, DE, Florida
The 49ers will need a successor for Justin Smith (Tank Carradine, maybe?) and also some depth on the defensive line. With four Day 2 selections, they can take a chance on someone like Dominique Easley, a tremendous talent who is coming off a terrible injury.

  31. Denver Broncos: Ben Gardner, DE, Stanford
The Broncos are getting to the quarterback once again now that Von Miller is back in the lineup, but they still need to upgrade their pass rush. They can’t count on Shaun Phillips to produce much longer.

  32. Seattle Seahawks: David Yankey, G/OT, Stanford
The Seahawks have multiple areas of concern on their offensive line, including both guard spots. Imagine how potent Russell Wilson would be with upgraded protection.
