Last update: Thursday, Feb. 28, 2013. Round 5 added plus Alex Smith update.
Next update: Next week. Follow me @walterfootball for updates.

You can find the complete seven-round 2013 NFL Draft Order by clicking the link.

  1. Kansas City Chiefs: Markus Wheaton, WR, Oregon State
Kansas City’s new quarterback will need a new receiver if Dwayne Bowe leaves. I wouldn’t spend the money on Bowe; he’s overrated because he’s inconsistent and piles up most of his stats in garbage time. He was responsible for a ton of turnovers, including both of Matt Cassel’s interceptions against the Ravens.

    Follow @walterfootball for updates.

Pick change; previously Margus Hunt, DE/DT

  2. Jacksonville Jaguars: Terron Armstead, OT, Arkansas-Pine Bluff
Cameron Bradfield was overmatched this year. The Jaguars need need to find multiple upgrades on the offensive line for their new quarterback, whoever that may be.

Pick change; previously Darius Slay, CB

  3. Detroit Lions: Sam Montgomery, DE, LSU
No one should be surprised if Sam Montgomery falls to the third round or later. His comments about quitting and betting on football have drawn some serious red flags. However, he’s the best player available and fills a big need for Detroit.

Pick change; previously Travis Frederick, G/C

  4. Oakland Raiders: Blidi Wreh-Wilson, CB, Connecticut
The Raiders were without their two starting cornerbacks most of this season. Ronald Bartell was released, while Shawntae Spencer just isn’t very good.

  5. Philadelphia Eagles: Robert Alford, CB, Southeastern Louisiana
Brandon Boykin was a nice pick in the fourth round, but he won’t be enough if Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie leaves via free agency, as Philadelphia wants three high-level cornerbacks. Nnamdi Asomugha will probably be cut this spring. He was absolutely terrible.

  6. Cleveland Browns: Ryan Nassib, QB, Syracuse
New regimes mean new quarterbacks, so unless Michael Lombardi trades for Ryan Mallett, he could spend an early selection on a developmental signal-caller.

Pick change; previously Tyler Wilson, QB

  7. Arizona Cardinals: Corey Lemonier, DE/OLB, Auburn
Corey Lemonier, who provides great value here in Round 3, could bolster an inconsistent pass rush and displace the injury-prone O’Brien Schofield.

Pick change; previously J.J. Wilcox, S

  8. Tennessee Titans: Barrett Jones, G/C/OT, Alabama
Another much-needed upgrade for the Titans’ offensive line to help Chris Johnson fully regain CJ2K form. Barrett Jones could start inside at first but eventually move to right tackle.

Pick change; previously Alvin Bailey, G

  9. Buffalo Bills: Jordan Reed, TE, Florida
General manager Buddy Nix recently told the media that he plans on upgrading the tight end position. Expect one of his Day 2 selections to be used on this.

  10. New York Jets: Gavin Escobar, TE, San Diego State
The Jets are expected to lose Dustin Keller this offseason, so tight end is one of the many positions they have to address.

Pick change; previously Quinton Patton, WR

  11. Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Tharold Simon, CB, LSU
The Buccaneers don’t ever shy away from doubling up on positions. They may do so at cornerback, as this was a huge area of need even before the Aqib Talib trade. David Amerson could play corner or safety once Ronde Barber finally retires.

Pick change; previously David Amerson, S/CB

  12. San Francisco 49ers: Sio Moore, OLB, Connecticut
The 49ers will probably plan to do something about their serious lack of depth at rush linebacker this offseason. Sio Moore had an awesome Combine on top of a very good Senior Bowl, so I had to move him into the second round.

Pick change; previously Robert Woods, WR

  13. New Orleans Saints: Brandon Williams, NT, Missouri Southern
Another piece for New Orleans’ new 3-4. The Saints could use a long-term solution at nose tackle behind Brodrick Bunkley.

  14. San Diego Chargers: Travis Frederick, G/C, Wisconsin
More offensive line help for Philip Rivers. The Chargers’ top three guards are all free agents. At least one replacement will be needed.

Pick change; previously Jawan Jamison, RB

  15. Miami Dolphins: Stedman Bailey, WR, West Virginia
Brian Hartline didn’t do very much after posting 200-plus yards at Arizona, so it’s clear that he’s not a No. 1. The Dolphins need a top option for the inconsistent Ryan Tannehill.

Pick change; previously Jordan Poyer, CB

  16. St. Louis Rams: David Bakhtiari, OT, Colorado
Another offensive line upgrade. As mentioned before, Jeff Fisher discussed how he wants to upgrade the offensive line to give Sam Bradford a chance.

Pick change; previously Barrett Jones, G/C/OT

  17. Pittsburgh Steelers: Quinton Patton, WR, Louisiana Tech
The Steelers never shy away from a play-maker if one provides good value. That’s the case with Quinton Patton. The butterfingered Mike Wallace could be gone this offseason.

Pick change; previously Montee Ball, RB

  18. Dallas Cowboys: Brennan Williams, OT, North Carolina
Doug Free is expected to be released sometime soon. The Cowboys need to upgrade the right tackle position.

  19. New York Giants: Khaseem Greene, LB, Rutgers
The Giants have issues in the middle of their defense. Chase Blackburn shouldn’t be starting, while Keith Rivers, a free agent in March, can never get healthy. General manager Jerry Reese said that there needs to be better linebacker play next year.

Pick change; previously Logan Ryan, CB

  20. Miami Dolphins: Justin Pugh, G/OT, Syracuse
Justin Pugh has dinosaur arms, so he might be forced into playing guard. That’s fine for the Dolphins because they need help at both right tackle (if Jake Long leaves) and right guard.

  21. Minnesota Vikings: Bacarri Rambo, S, Georgia
As noted in my Minnesota Vikings NFL Offseason Needs, Harrison Smith deserves Rookie of the Year consideration, but he’s the only talented safety on Minnesota’s roster.

  22. Cincinnati Bengals: Jelani Jenkins, OLB, Florida
The Bengals have major issues at linebacker. Manny Lawson is a free agent, while Rey Maualuga was one of the worst defensive starters in the NFL last year.

Pick change; previously Tyrann Mathieu, CB

  23. Washington Redskins: Aaron Dobson, WR, Marshall
The Redskins have to fix their secondary and offensive line, but something else they should do is find some help at receiver. I think they’ll do that if they get good value. That’s definitely the case in this scenario.

Pick change; previously David Bakhtiari, OT

  24. Indianapolis Colts: Jamie Collins, DE/OLB, Southern Miss
Dwight Freeney and Robert Mathis won’t be around much longer. The Colts need to find new players who can rush the passer.

Pick change; previously Corey Lemonier, DE/OLB

  25. Seattle Seahawks: Zaviar Gooden, OLB, Missouri
Another second-day linebacker for Seattle. The Seahawks re-signed Leroy Hill this past offseason, but that was only for a year. He’s not expected back.

Pick change; previously Marquise Goodwin, WR/KR

  26. Green Bay Packers: David Quessenberry, G/C/OT, San Jose State
Can anyone explain why Jeff Saturday was voted to the Pro Bowl? He didn’t even start at the end of the season. The Packers had major problems at center after letting Scott Wells walk away, so they’ll have to address that area this spring. Ted Thompson will like David Quessenberry’s versatility, as the San Jose State product can play every position up front, including center.

  27. Houston Texans: Cobi Hamilton, WR, Arkansas
The Texans have needed a No. 2 receiver for years, but now that Andre Johnson is into his 30s, it won’t be long before they have to secure a new No. 1 wideout for Matt Schaub.

  28. Denver Broncos: Everett Dawkins, DT, Florida State
The Broncos spent a second-rounder last April on Derek Wolfe, but he played defensive end and moved inside on nickel situations. That’s why Denver still needs a ton of help at defensive tackle.

  29. New England Patriots: Mike Glennon, QB, N.C. State
The Patriots have used a third-round pick on a troubled but talented SEC quarterback before, so how about a third-round pick on a high-upside but raw ACC product? There’s talk that Bill Belichick could trade Ryan Mallett to Michael Lombardi, so if that happens, New England may search for another project at the signal-caller position.

Pick change; previously Tyler Bray, QB

  30. Atlanta Falcons: Knile Davis, RB, Arkansas
Despite how he performed against the Seahawks in the playoffs, Michael Turner is done. He looked like he was running in quicksand for most of this past season, so he won’t be on the roster much longer at his enormous salary.

Knile Davis was awesome at the Combine. There are some who believe that Davis would be the No. 1 running back in this class if it weren’t for his injury history.

Pick change; previously Tyler Bray, QB

  31. San Francisco 49ers: Logan Ryan, CB, Rutgers
Teams are always looking for cornerback depth, especially if they have extra picks. Besides, Carlos Rogers didn’t play as well this past season. He was solid at times, but was inconsistent.

Pick change; previously Leon McFadden, CB

  32. Baltimore Ravens: Da’Rick Rogers, WR, Tennessee Tech
The Ravens take chances on players like Da’Rick Rogers. If Rogers stays out of trouble, he could be a solid weapon for Joe Flacco. The expensive Anquan Boldin will be entering his contract year and will have to be replaced soon.
