*** 2019 NFL MOCK DRAFT (3 rounds) updated Nov. 22. This mock draft will be updated occasionally. Check out old versions of this 2019 NFL Mock Draft in the archived mock section. Follow @walterfootball for NFL Draft updates. ***

  1. San Francisco 49ers: Nick Bosa, DE, Ohio State
The Giants and Raiders may have prevailed in meaningless games recently, but the true winner has been San Francisco. The 49ers can now hold an auction for Justin Herbert in an attempt to acquire more early-round selections. We know John Lynch loves to wheel and deal, so I’d have to believe that he gets something done.

I’ll project some trades in the future, but for now, let’s assume there aren’t any deals. If the 49ers are on the clock, and Nick Bosa is available, it’s almost a lock that they’ll pick him. San Francisco struggles to pressure the quarterback consistently, and Bosa would fix that.

Bosa has a tremendous skill set, and he was off to a great start in 2018 before injuring his knee. He should still be a top-five pick.

Pick change; previously Quinnen Williams, DT

  2. Arizona Cardinals: Quinnen Williams, DT, Alabama
The Cardinals failed to secure a replacement for Calais Campbell yet again this past offseason, but I have to believe that general manager Steve Keim is well aware of how loaded the 2019 NFL Draft class is of defensive linemen. As bad as Arizona needs blockers for Josh Rosen, it won’t be able to pass up on one of the four stud defensive tackles.

Quinnen Williams has enjoyed a breakout performance this season, and he was dominant against LSU. Sources Charlie Campbell spoke to months ago believed Williams would be a high first-round pick.

Pick change; previously Derrick Brown, DT

  3. Oakland Raiders: Clelin Ferrell, DE, Clemson
The Raiders would love to trade down to acquire more picks, but if they stay put, they almost have to take one of the two dynamic edge rushers in this class. This will give them a cheap replacement for Khalil Mack.

Clelin Ferrell has elite athleticism, and he could’ve been a top-15, or even a top-10 pick in the 2018 NFL Draft had he declared (perhaps No. 6 overall to the Colts.)

Pick change; previously Nick Bosa, DE

  4. New York Jets: Derrick Brown, DT, Auburn
The Jets would love one of the two blue-chip edge rushers in this class, but both Nick Bosa and Clelin Ferrell are off the board. Thus, they have to go with the best player available. They don’t need a five-technique, but that was also the case when they drafted Leonard Williams, given that they had Muhammad Wilkerson and Sheldon Richardson on the roster. You can never wrong going with the top option on the board.

Derrick Brown has great size (6-5, 316) and tons of upside. He can be a great interior disruptor if he lives up to his potential.

Pick change; previously Clelin Ferrell, DE

  5. New York Giants: Justin Herbert, QB, Oregon
It’s extremely unlikely that the Giants will land the top quarterback prospect in the class at No. 5 overall. Some team will trade up for him. Perhaps New York will do it. If so, the Giants will certainly pay the price for not benching Eli Manning during the bye week, as they should have.

Giants ownership pushed for a quarterback prior to the 2018 NFL Draft, but general manager David Gettleman opted for Saquon Barkley instead. After what has transpired this year, I can’t imagine Gettleman going against ownership’s wishes again.

Justin Herbert played in just eight games last year, but has some major potential. He was accurate, completing 67 percent of his passes, and he also has nice size at 6-6, 225. He had a monster game versus Stanford and appears to now be the consensus top quarterback in this class. There’s been talk that Herbert will go back to school, but it’s still early in the process, and he still has time to make the correct decision.

  6. Buffalo Bills: Greg Little, OT, Ole Miss
The Bills absolutely need to improve Josh Allen’s protection and receiving talent. It could be argued that Buffalo has the worst offensive line in the NFL.

Greg “Mr. Reliable” Little was a five-star recruit coming out of high school. He’s an athletic left tackle who could become a top-10 pick.

  7. Jacksonville Jaguars: Drew Lock, QB, Missouri
I’ve avoided listing Drew Lock in the first round of recent updates because he’s been horrible against legitimate competition. He’s dominated the sisters of the poor in college football, but SEC defenses have given him problems. That changed this past Saturday when he torched a great Florida defense. That film could entice a team like the Jaguars to consider him in the first round. It would still be a reach, but Lock would at least give the fans some hope.

Lock has a great arm and can make any throw, but he really needs to work on his field vision and accuracy. He should probably be taken in the second round, but we’ve seen teams reach for quarterbacks over the years.

  8. Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Greedy Williams, CB, LSU
The Buccaneers’ issues at cornerback are well publicized. They’ve been torched by nearly every quarterback this year, which is a problem, given that they share a division with Drew Brees, Matt Ryan and Cam Newton.

Greedy Williams had a spectacular freshman season with six interceptions. Williams has great size (6-2, 182) and quickness, and he has top-10 upside.

Pick change; previously Daniel Jones, QB

  9. Cleveland Browns: Ed Oliver, DT, Houston
The Browns have a strong defensive line, but they could use an interior player who can generate a heavy pass rush and help stop the run. This would take their defensive front over the top.

Ed Oliver was a highly productive defensive lineman for Houston, recording a ridiculous 22.5 TFLs as a freshman. He’s been a monster this season and currently projects to be a top-five pick in the 2019 NFL Draft, so this is a steal for the Browns.

  10. Detroit Lions: Devin White, LB, LSU
The Lions have one of the worst linebacking corps in the NFL. They can’t cover anyone over the middle of the field. They need to add a player who can become the leader of their defensive unit at the position. If they do so, perhaps they’ll finally be able to compete with some of the top teams in their division.

Devin White was extremely productive this past season, logging 133 tackles. A projected running back, White is still learning the position, which is crazy considering how great he was in 2017. White is already generating a buzz for the 2019 NFL Draft, as Charlie Campbell reported in the NFL Hot Press.

  11. Atlanta Falcons: Jeffery Simmons, DT, Mississippi State
The Falcons were expected to address their defensive line during the draft, but the spend too much energy doing it. They’ll need to make amends for that next spring.

Jeffrey Simmons is an extremely disruptive interior force, but was found guilty of simple assault charges. He could be a top-five pick if teams are fine with his off-the-field issues, as he has an amazing blend of power and athleticism.

Pick change; previously Dexter Lawrence, DT

  12. Denver Broncos: Zach Allen, DE/DT, Boston College
The Broncos could address their defensive front seven again if they get this sort of value, especially after surrendering 300 rushing yards to the Jets. Derek Wolfe’s health is always a concern, while Adam Gotsis has off-the-field concerns.

Zach Allen needs to develop more pass-rushing moves, but he has a nice combination of size and strength, and he happens to be a stout run defender and a quality pass-rusher.

Pick change; previously Jeffery Simmons, DT

  13. Philadelphia Eagles: DeAndre Baker, CB, Georgia
The Eagles desperately need to improve their secondary, as they’ve surrendered big passing performances to nearly every quarterback they’ve played thus far in 2018.

DeAndre Baker had a terrific 2017 campaign, showing great athleticism. He’s been great this season as well, especially against LSU.

Pick change; previously Greedy Williams, CB

  14. Green Bay Packers: Raekwon Davis, DE/DT, Alabama
Muhammad Wilkerson played well for the Packers in two-and-a-half games, but he’s out for the season, and he signed just a 1-year contract anyway. A replacement will be needed if he leaves.

Raekwon Davis had a dominant performance in the national championship to cap off his excellent 2017 season in which he logged 8.5 sacks.

Pick change; previously Zach Allen, DE/DT

  15. Indianapolis Colts: Rashan Gary, DE/DT, Michigan
The Colts, once again, should target the best player on their board. This time, they can focus on their defensive front, which I believe they would have done had Bradley Chubb been available.

Rashan Gary is an athletic freak. He wasn’t extremely productive as a freshman, but he recorded five sacks and 11 tackles for loss in 2017. His teammates believe he’ll be a top-10 pick.

  16. Miami Dolphins: Christian Wilkins, DT, Clemson
The Dolphins lost Ndamukong Suh last offseason, so they’ll need to find someone who can replace half of what he did in the defensive interior.

Christian Wilkins has superior speed and athleticism as an interior disruptor.
