  1. Arizona Cardinals: Kyler Murray, QB/WR, Oklahoma
It’s becoming increasingly apparent that one of two things will happen with the first-overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft:

    1. The Cardinals will select Kyler Murray and trade Josh Rosen.

    2. Arizona will trade this pick to a team – probably the Raiders – that will want to choose Murray.

Either way, Murray will be the top choice in the wake of his positive measurements at the combine. I’m going to lean toward the Cardinals taking him in the wake of Kliff Kingsbury telling everyone at the combine that his team picking Murray is a “done deal.” This could be a smoke screen, and if so, I think it’ll work because the Raiders love Murray and would love to obtain him.

Murray has vaulted into the top spot of the draft because of his positive measurement at the combine. Because Murray was listed at 5-foot-10 at Oklahoma, it seemed like there was a legitimate chance he would be something like 5-8 7/8, but 5-10 1/8 is a big deal, as it’s not much shorter than what Russell Wilson is.

    *** OTHER 2019 NFL DRAFT POSSIBILITIES: ***

    1. Trade Down – I’ll be shocked if Murray isn’t the No. 1 pick in the 2019 NFL Draft. However, I think it’s possible that the Cardinals could trade down with a team hoping to select Murray, most notably the Raiders.

    2. ENTER THE 2019 NFL MOCK DRAFT CONTEST! OK, this isn’t a possibility for the Cardinals, but it’s a reminder that our 2019 NFL Mock Draft Contest is available. There’s free entry and CASH PRIZES, so there’s no reason not to enter.

  2. San Francisco 49ers: Nick Bosa, DE, Ohio State
The 49ers are currently deciding between Nick Bosa and Quinnen Williams. Charlie Campbell reported about a month ago that the 49ers were falling in love with Quinnen Williams, which is making this decision very difficult. However, I think that in the end, the 49ers will select the best player who fills the bigger need, and that would be Bosa. Another sign that the 49ers might be choosing Bosa: He was perhaps forced into deleting some pro-President Trump and anti-Colin Kaepernick tweets because of the possibility of being selected by San Francisco.

Bosa has a tremendous skill set, and he was off to a great start in 2018 before injuring his knee. He’s a top-three lock unless some Laremy Tunsil-esque news breaks about him over the next 16 days.

    *** OTHER 2019 NFL DRAFT POSSIBILITIES: ***

    1. Quinnen Williams, DT – I get the sense that Williams was the leader in the clubhouse for the 49ers’ pick at one point, but it seems as though Bosa will be the choice.

  3. New York Jets: Ed Oliver, DT, Houston
It’s often wise to ignore smoke during the week of the draft, but when there are numerous reports indicating that something could happen, it’s hard not to listen. This all began when former Bears personnel man Greg Gabriel said that Jets defensive coordinator Gregg Williams wanted his team to draft Ed Oliver. ESPN’s Rich Cimini, who also covers the Jets, reported the same thing a day later. This could all be nonsense to get the Raiders to trade up, but I’m not so sure. For what it’s worth, we spoke to someone who is friends with one of the Jets’ higher-ups, and he seems to believe that New York’s interest in Oliver is legit, so that’s what I’m going with as of right now.

That said, it’s very possible that the Jets will trade down, rendering all of this moot. If some team moves up, it could very well be for Oliver. The Falcons reportedly love Oliver, so perhaps they’ll make a move for him. I’d suggest the Bills as well, but I doubt Buffalo and New York would trade with each other.

Oliver was a highly productive defensive lineman for Houston, recording a ridiculous 22.5 TFLs as a freshman. He was a monster this past season before getting hurt.

    *** OTHER 2019 NFL DRAFT POSSIBILITIES: ***

    1. Quinnen Williams, DE/DT – If this is a smokescreen, and the Jets don’t move down, Quinnen Williams would be the likely choice.

    2. Trade Down – As mentioned above, the Jets really want to trade down because they don’t have a second-round pick. Some team could move up to target Quinnen Williams. The Jets, meanwhile, could draft Ed Oliver.

  4. Oakland Raiders: Quinnen Williams, DT, Alabama
I have to believe the Raiders would be thrilled that Quinnen Williams, polled to be the top player in this class, could legitimately fall to them at No. 4 overall. There was speculation that Williams would be chosen first overall prior to the combine, yet now he may drop all the way to Oakland’s pick.

Williams had a breakout performance this season, and sources Charlie Campbell spoke to early in the year believed Williams would be a high first-round pick. Williams is now a likely top-five selection, and some polled believe that he’s the top prospect in this class.

    *** OTHER 2019 NFL DRAFT POSSIBILITIES: ***

    1. Ed Oliver, DT – Oliver is the other option, as there have been reports that the Raiders like him. However, Oliver’s agent being the same person who represents Khalil Mack and Amari Cooper could be problematic.

    2. Trade Down – The Raiders could be tempted to move down if Williams is off the board. Perhaps they’ll select an edge rusher like Brian Burns or Clelin Ferrell after trading.

  5. Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Devin White, LB, LSU
It doesn’t sound like the Buccaneers want to trade down. Bruce Arians told the media that he sees five or six top prospects in this class and wants to land a “once in a generation-type player” with his first selection in Tampa. That got me thinking: If Ed Oliver is off the board, who would qualify as such? The question is if it’s more likely that Arians sees that in Josh Allen or Devin White, and I think the answer is White. The LSU product actually happened to call himself a “once in a generation-type player” in a recent interview with NFL.com. Of course, that doesn’t mean he’ll be the pick here, but I think it’s more likely that Arians might see White as the next perennial Pro Bowl linebacker in the NFL.

    *** OTHER 2019 NFL DRAFT POSSIBILITIES: ***

    1. Ed Oliver – This almost has to be Oliver’s floor. Tampa could select him to be Gerald McCoy’s replacement.

    2. Josh Allen, DE/OLB – The Buccaneers are desperate for edge-rushing talent, and understandably so, given that they have to go up against Drew Brees, Matt Ryan and Cam Newton twice per year. Allen plays the more-important position, and he should be considered the superior prospect.

  6. New York Giants: Daniel Jones, QB, Duke
The Giants have said they’re taking the best player available at No. 6 overall, and I believe they would choose Ed Oliver or Devin White if either happened to drop to them. However, that is not the case in this update. Josh Allen may make the most sense after that, but I wonder if the Giants wouldn’t just select Jones and not risk losing him later in the opening round. It’s 50-50 for me at this rate, but I get the feeling that the Giants will just take their guy if Oliver and White aren’t available.

    *** OTHER 2019 NFL DRAFT POSSIBILITIES: ***

    1. Devin White, LB – The Cardinals, with James Bettcher as their defensive coordinator, used the No. 13 overall pick on Haason Reddick. White is a far better prospect at the same position – one that the Giants sorely need to address.

    2. Josh Allen, DE/OLB – I believe this is Allen’s floor if New York passes on a quarterback. The Giants want a talented edge rusher, and Allen would certainly fill that void.

  7. Jacksonville Jaguars: Jonah Williams, OT/G, Alabama
The Jaguars spent big money on Nick Foles. It would be foolish not to upgrade his offensive line. Left tackle Cam Robinson is a question mark, but the huge void up front is at right tackle. Jacksonville currently doesn’t have a viable player at this position. This pick could fill right tackle spot, with Jonah Williams being chosen. Williams could also play guard, which is also a big need.

    *** OTHER 2019 NFL DRAFT POSSIBILITIES: ***

    1. Andre Dillard, OT – It’s possible that the Jaguars could see Dillard as the top offensive lineman in this class. If so, he could be the pick.

    2. Josh Allen, DE/OLB – Wow, Josh Allen is available! The Jaguars will have to seriously consider him at this juncture.

  8. Detroit Lions: Josh Allen, DE/LB, Kentucky
If you were to tell me a couple of weeks ago that Josh Allen could be available at No. 8 overall, I would’ve laughed at you and called the local insane asylum to have you committed. However, I’m now befuddled as to where Allen could be drafted. Let’s run through the scenarios:

Jets – Peter King reported that the Jets don’t like Allen very much, and they could trade down anyway.

Raiders – I think it’s more likely that they pick Quinnen Williams or Ed Oliver.

Buccaneers – Very possible, but I’m leaning toward Devin White.

Giants – This is the most likely spot at the moment, but I’m getting the feeling that they’ll be antsy about losing out on Daniel Jones.

Jaguars – Would they pass on the opportunity to protect their new, expensive quarterback? Maybe, but I’m sticking with Jonah Williams for now.

If this still seems crazy to you, remember that last year, barely anyone thought Bradley Chubb would drop to the Broncos and that Derwin James would fall to the Chargers. Stuff like this happens all the time, and I doubt the Lions will be complaining very much. Allen can basically play anywhere you want him to on defense. He’s a terrific player, as he was the primary reason why Kentucky was in contention for the SEC East title so late into the season. He’s compared to as a hybrid of Leonard Floyd and Zach Cunningham, as he can play in coverage and also rush the quarterback effectively on the edge. He was also a team captain, which must please Bob Quinn.

    *** OTHER 2019 NFL DRAFT POSSIBILITIES: ***

    1. Devin Bush, LB – Bush checks all the boxes for what the Lions look for in a prospect. Plus, he fills a need, and as general manager Bob Quinn said, the Lions want to draft lighter, quicker players, and that certainly applies to Bush.

    2. Trade Down – The Lions sound desperate to trade down, which makes sense, given the high number of needs they have. Perhaps they’ll select Brian Burns if they move down.

  9. Buffalo Bills: Montez Sweat, DE/OLB, Mississippi State
There was some incredible news Thursday morning when it was revealed that Montez Sweat was misdiagnosed with a heart condition. If you recall, Sweat was a mainstay in the top 10 of these mock drafts following his brilliant combine performance. However, a reported large heart dropped him into the 20s or 30s of various mock editions.

If this report is true, I don’t see why a team wouldn’t select Sweat in the top 10. He’s the best player available for the Bills, who have been looking hard at edge rushers this offseason.

    *** OTHER 2019 NFL DRAFT POSSIBILITIES: ***

    1. Andre Dillard/Jonah Williams, OT – Either of the other two top offensive linemen are logical choices.

    2. T.J. Hockenson, TE – This is probably the earliest Hockenson could go, as the Bills must upgrade Josh Allen’s supporting cast.

Pick change; previously Jawaan Taylor, OT

  10. Denver Broncos: T.J. Hockenson, TE, Iowa
The Broncos acquired Joe Flacco this offseason, but he’s not going to be successful if Denver doesn’t give him more weapons to work with. His top options at receiver are Emmanuel Sanders, who may not be 100 percent coming off an injury, and Courtland Sutton, who was inconsistent as a rookie last year. Meanwhile, tight end is a huge question mark with Jake Butt being hurt all the time. Acquiring T.J. Hockenson would provide a big boost for Flacco’s arsenal.

Hockenson is considered the top all-around tight end in the 2019 NFL Draft class. He’s a very talented receiver and a skilled blocker as well. He was great at the combine.

    *** OTHER 2019 NFL DRAFT POSSIBILITIES: ***

    1. Devin White/Devin Bush, LB – I’m sure the Broncos would love for White to fall to them, but that doesn’t seem very realistic. Perhaps they’d pick Devin Bush instead.

    2. Garrett Bradbury, C/G – This would be a reach at No. 10, but the Broncos could trade down and target a replacement for Matt Paradis.

  11. Cincinnati Bengals: Andre Dillard, OT, Washington State
I’ve mocked a quarterback to the Bengals for quite some time, citing that new regimes mean new quarterbacks. However, given how weak this quarterback class is, it seems as though the Bengals will go with Andy Dalton for another year.

With that being the case, Cincinnati will continue to retool its offensive line, as the blocking has been very poor in recent years. They have no right tackle, and to make matters worse, their blind-side protector, Cordy Glenn, will be a free agent in a couple of years. Andre Dillard can start out on the right side and then move to left tackle in 2021 and beyond.

Dillard is a love-hate prospect. Some teams think he’s a Round 3-4 prospect, but others believe he could go late in the first frame. Perhaps there are more people will the latter belief after his stellar combine performance.

    *** OTHER 2019 NFL DRAFT POSSIBILITIES: ***

    1. Devin Bush, LB – I’ve mocked Bush to the Bengals in previous versions of my mock draft. He’s the type of rare athletic they typically like.

    2. Cody Ford, G – The Bengals could opt for an interior lineman in a worst-case scenario.

  12. Green Bay Packers: Jeffery Simmons, DE/DT, Mississippi State
The Packers are in a position to take the best player available. If that’s truly the case, they could just shock everyone in Nashville and select Jeffery Simmons. If Simmons were healthy, he would be a top-five lock in this draft, and the 49ers would even consider him at No. 2 overall. There was also the incident in which he hit a woman long ago, but he was defending his sister in the process and ultimately has become a changed man. He was an excellent teammate at Mississippi State and has received glowing character reports by all accounts. The Packers could gamble on his talent because they have two first-round picks. Perhaps they’ll do that at No. 30, but there’s a good chance he won’t be available by then. If the Packers want him, they’ll have to take him at No. 12.

    *** OTHER 2019 NFL DRAFT POSSIBILITIES: ***

    1. T.J. Hockenson, TE – Upgrading Jimmy Graham makes sense, and this could be Hockenson’s floor.

    2. Devin Bush, LB – I almost mocked Bush to the Packers. He would be a great pick, as Green Bay hasn’t possessed a talented three-down linebacker in quite some time.

  13. Miami Dolphins: Christian Wilkins, DT, Clemson
The Dolphins have so many holes and not enough resources to fill them. They have just five draft picks in the 2019 NFL Draft, excluding the seventh round, so I imagine that they’ll attempt to trade down. If they make a move, Christian Wilkins is someone they could target in five or six selections. They could also take him at No. 13, and it wouldn’t be a reach. They sorely missed Ndamukong Suh, so Wilkins could be obtained as a replacement.

Wilkins has superior speed and athleticism as an interior disruptor. He was unstoppable in the national championship.

    *** OTHER 2019 NFL DRAFT POSSIBILITIES: ***

    1. Clelin Ferrell, DE – I considered both Clemson defensive lineman at this juncture. The Dolphins have a horrible edge rush that must be addressed.

    2. Jonah Williams, OT/G – Rumor has it that the Dolphins like Williams, but there’s a good chance they could miss out on him.

  14. Atlanta Falcons: Devin Bush, LB, Michigan
I have a feeling that whomever I’ll mock to the Falcons will end up being incorrect because there’s a very good chance that they’ll move up for either Ed Oliver or Christian Wilkins. If they stay put, Cody Ford and Chris Lindstrom are strong possibilities.

But what if Devin Bush is on the board? Bush could go as high as No. 8 to the Lions or 10 to the Broncos, but he happens to be available in this mock draft. Atlanta needs a second linebacker to go along with Deion Jones, as we discovered last year when Jones was out. Atlanta could see Jones as the best player available, and it needs a second linebacker who can cover, as the other players at the position struggle in that regard.

    *** OTHER 2019 NFL DRAFT POSSIBILITIES: ***

    1. Trade Up for Ed Oliver or Christian Wilkins, DT – I’ve mocked Wilkins to the Falcons on numerous occasions. He makes a ton of sense, as Atlanta must bolster the interior of its defensive front.

    2. Cody Ford or Chris Lindstrom, OL – Ford and Lindstrom are strong possibilities for a team that wants to bolster its offensive line.

  15. Washington Redskins: Dwayne Haskins, QB, Ohio State
If the Cardinals decide to trade Josh Rosen, the Redskins will be one of the favorites to acquire him. They traded for Case Keenum, but still need a young quarterback. Rosen would make a ton of sense. If they can’t get Rosen, they’ll have to select a quarterback with this pick (or one that they trade up for.)

Haskins has a tremendous skill set, but is not a finished product at the moment. Teams don’t have first-round grades on him, so he could fall into the 20s. However, Daniel Snyder reportedly likes him, as his son went to school with Haskins, a local product.

    *** OTHER 2019 NFL DRAFT POSSIBILITIES: ***

    1. Daniel Jones/Drew Lock, QB – The other quarterbacks make sense as well.

    2. Byron Murphy, CB – Charlie Campbell reported that Byron Murphy is receiving top-20 consideration. The Redskins make sense for them, given their need at cornerback.

  16. Carolina Panthers: Brian Burns, DE/OLB, Florida State
I’m turning back the clock with this pick because I mocked Brian Burns on several occasions to the Panthers months ago. I moved off of that pick because I slotted Burns to the Lions. I debated between Burns and Devin Bush to Detroit – prior to deciding to move Josh Allen off the Giants’ pick – and I’ve ultimately opted to go with Bush (and then Allen) to the Lions. Thus, Burns is available again.

The Panthers are desperate for edge-rushing talent. Aside from offensive tackles, they’ve visited with and worked out with edge players more than any other position. With the top tackles off the board, it makes sense for them to address their pass rush, and Burns is the top prospect available who can help them do that.

    *** OTHER 2019 NFL DRAFT POSSIBILITIES: ***

    1. Andre Dillard/Jonah Williams, OT – I’m sure the Panthers would want one of the top tackles. Perhaps they’ll even trade up.

    2. Byron Murphy, CB – The Panthers desperately need a cornerback, and they could take the first one off the board.
