Daniel I: The Raiders have had themselves a busy offseason, which saw them make some much needed additions to their defense, but also make some head-scratching decisions with the offensive line. Hopefully Mike Mayock’s plan is to refresh the unit with some younger players, and Alex Leathergood should bring some flexibility to a line in need of some stabilization.

Daniel I: Miami by now has selected (more than likely) one of the top WR’s in this class, and it would be a smart move to keep surrounding Tua at this point with all the play-makers they can get. However, the Dolphins do need to bolster their defensive line, namely edge rusher, and now would be a good spot for DE Jaelen Phillips.

Thomas W: These look like a lot of reaches for the Bears. At some point, don’t you have to set needs aside and look for BPA? And no way do you take Trask at #20. I went Teven Jenkins, who wouldn’t be a big reach.

Daniel I: Chicago’s GM Ryan Pace and HC Matt Nagy are likely riding the hot seat after back-to-back 8-8 seasons, even in spite of reaching the playoffs at the 7 seed. That isn’t much worth reading into considering a 10-6 Dolphins team was forced to miss the playoffs, and they are significantly better than the Bears. Chicago managed to get worse through free agency and now find themselves with numerous holes in the roster. If they want to get the most out of their new starting QB Andy Dalton, they may want to protect him better. Adding Tevin Jenkins would help.

Luke T: 60 votes for Trask, 57 votes for Leatherwood, 56 votes for Jackson as I’m typing this, but Trask is going to win. Makes sense

Wesley C: Alex Leatherwood makes sense if he’s on the board. Reich needs to put the best 5 offensive linemen on the field. Whether that’s Leatherwood at tackle and Nelson at guard or vice versa, so be it. Wentz is at his best when he’s protected (but then again who isn’t)

Jeff D: The Titans are a great example of a team that wins by focussing on being great at what they do well. In their case, that means running the ball, blocking well, and having enough of a passing attack to pass when necessary. Along those lines, I think now is a good time to add a tackle in Leatherwood. In the short term, Kendall Lamm was brought in cheap to possibly play RT, but I’m sure they’d rather upgrade there. In the long-term, Taylor Lewan was bad and then injured last year, and is past the point in his contract where he has substantial dead money. Leatherwood could serve as RT or even injury depth this year, then take over for Lewan next year to free up money for the rest of the roster.

Luke T: Tennessee is desperate for edge rushing help, and they’ve shown that they’re willing to take chances on guys with injuries or other concerns (see: two years ago). Phillips makes a lot of sense here. Wouldn’t be surprised if they reached for Rousseau either.

Wesley C: I think Jamin Davis is the best defensive player on the board. The Jets should look at all defensive players except DT here. RB can wait till pick 34, they can likely grab Harris or Etienne there

Jeff D: It’s odd to me how infrequently I’m seeing an O-lineman or WR mocked to the Jets at 23, considering the old adage of pairing a new QB with a protector or a weapon. There are always few “Brandon Aiyuk” type 1st round WR surprises. I could see Elijah Moore being taken here to be featured with Davis and Mims and allow them to move on from Crowder. That said, in a perfect world, if you’re Joe Douglas, you want to be starting 2 rookies on that O-line that was so bad last year. I’m fine with Leatherman or Carman. Fant, Lewis, and Van Roten are all mediocre. Take a rookie who could work as a guard or a tackle and pick your best 5 in camp. Going O-line early and an RB in the middle rounds will improve their run game more than taking Harris or Etienne.

Ben W: There will be a lot of people suggesting the Jets take a RB at 23 but that would be a reach. They have far greater needs an neither back is a talent worth reaching for. I’d rather they went RB in the second round and shored up their defense with someone like Jamin Davis with this pick.

Nolan G: I fully expect the Steelers to go O-line with the hopes that Williams is available at 55(he won’t be). I won’t be shocked if they grab either Landon Dickerson or Creed Humphrey at 24, but since neither are in the poll I voted for Williams. I think he fits the Steelers RB mold better then Etienne.

Austin L: At this point, the Steelers have made their desire for a new workhorse RB clear. It looks like Harris or Etienne are their two favorites, as they’ve spent a lot of time meeting/working with both, so I think there is a better than not chance that the pick will be one of those two. Similarly, there is a BIG need for a new C in the wake of Pouncey’s retirement. If the Steelers don’t take a RB with their first, I could see it being one of the top two Centers (Humphrey or Dickerson). Either way, I expect RB and C will be their first two picks (in some order), and I would be VERY surprised if they don’t take both positions by the end of the third round.

Ben W: Unlike the Jets, who have another pick coming soon, I expect the Steelers will reach for a RB in the first draft. Again, I think that would be a mistake, especially as in this case Najee Harris, who suits them better, is gone.

Mary G: The Browns have a whopping ONE proven outside CB on their team, Denzel Ward. Despite the beast he is, Ward has never played more than 13 games in a season. We all love Greedy Williams here in Cleveland, but he wasn’t a break-out star in 2019, and he missed 2020 with nerve damage. NERVE DAMAGE! Doctors have already told him he’ll likely never be playing at 100% again. That’s not conjecture, it’s what he was told my medical doctors. It’s driving me nuts how many mocks, here and elsehwere, are overlooking the true need at CB. Andrew Berry isn’t going to overlook this crucial position because he’s “excited” about Greedy Williams’ potential. DC Joe Woods has openly said he wants to spend most of the time with five or six DBs in the backfield. Regardless of how that shakes out, two of those positions HAVE to be outside corners. If Jaycee Horn drops somewhere around #15 to #18, I can see them moving up. If Caleb Farley or Greg Newsome drop to Cleveland, they’ll be taking him. I can even see them trading up a few slots if he sees the value there. Once the top four corners are off the board–and I think they will be–I think Cleveland will look to move down. If they can’t find a trade partner, then Barmore DOES make some sense at #26 overall. I also wouldn’t rule out a receiver like Terrace Marshall or Rashad Bateman. This would be a future-proofing pick for 2022, where they’ll need to replace at least one of Jarvis Landry or OBJ (if the hope to sign Mayfield, Ward and possibly Chubb to extensions). Browns fans need to get over the Zaven Collins hype. He’s a good player, but Berry isn’t taking a future Malcom Smith/Anthony Walker replacement in the first round. Just because the dude is a good LB doesn’t mean the Browns value that position anywhere nearly as high as you think they should.

Jeff D: It’s an easy knee jerk reaction to say that Sheldon Richardson is gone and so Barmore should replace him, but the positional value of an interior D-lineman isn’t there, especially when Cincy and Pittsburgh are pass first teams. Baltimore is a running team of course, but a fast linebacker is much more valuable in stopping Lamar Jackson. That said, you can never have enough CB depth. Greedy Williams is coming off a missed season from an injury and has yet to prove he’s a starter in this league, and Troy Hill is a slot corner. I gave them Greg Newsome, who could be a star opposite Denzel Ward and help them compete against teams like KC, TB, and Buffalo.

Ben W: The Browns badly need LB help. I prefer Zaven Collins but wouldn’t be surprised if it’s Jamin Davis. Total votes: 352

Mary G: Browns fan here on a Ravens pick, so I’ll defer to whatever Ravens fans think; I definitely don’t have my finger on the pulse of Baltimore’s biggest needs. But they lost two good pass rushers in free agency (though Ngokue didn’t seem to give them much last year). I’m pretty sure Calais Campbell’s contract is up after this year, so they might view a pass rusher as extra important for future proofing. And while I know they’re looking at receivers, at this point in the draft the value of that position is in round 2. Cut to my favorite potential pick for Baltimore, Azeez Ojulari, not even being available in this poll. Why? I’m well aware that many folks think he’ll go somewhere in round two. But not everyone thinks that way; just as many seem to think he’s round one worthy. He seems to fit what Baltimore likes, right? Heck, he fits what Cleveland likes in their pass rushers (like 34″+ arms, big-time school, etc.) and is a smarter choice than Barmore (based on how that front office works) for the Browns at #25 if none of the top corners fall. Trevon Moehrig jumps out to me as a good fit, even though he’s not a major need. But he feels like the kind of good value pick Baltimore often makes. Zaven Collins isn’t a true pass rusher, but I’d still pick him except for the fact he just bulked up to 270 pounds. Why would he do that? He’s not a true 4-3 defensive end, and 270 lbs. seems like too much weight for most 3-4 Edge Defenders nowadays. Also, I don’t know enough about the Orlando Brown situation to know if they’ll actually trade him. But even if they do they’ll probably use the likely second-round pick they get back on a Tackle. Rousseau scored a number of his sacks working inside against guards, so he doesn’t seem to be a natural fit. I do like Jayson Oweh, the Jadeveon Clowney of the 2021 draft; Oweh’s long term potential is great. But does he make sense at #27? Oweh is my pick because I can’t choose Azeez Ojulari. But my gut is screaming at me that in this scenario Moehrig is the better choice.

Wesley C: Jackson Carman would be a great pick here. If they manage to keep/extend Cody Ford, Carman plays guard and properly replaces Marshall Yanda. If the Ravens trade Ford, Carman can slide in at RT and the Ravens can use a 2nd day pick on a guard. Regardless, the Ravens better bolster the Oline as much as possible if they want to run more than pass

Zach C: The Packers have a history of striking gold in the 2nd round with WRs (Greg Jennings, Jordy Nelson, Randall Cobb, Davante Adams), so they go with the scheme-versatile Greg Newsome II. The Packers cannot go into next year with Kevin King as a starter.

Thomas W: The Ravens should draft Landon Dickerson and then trade Cody Ford, as the commenter suggests above. That Ford doesn’t actually play for them makes it an even better move.

Wesley C: Baltimore catches a falling prospect yet again. Gregory Rousseau has been compared to Calais Campbell so let’s give them a guy to play alongside and eventually replace Campbell who will be 35 when the season kicks off. Alternatively I can see Baltimore trading the pick to Denver if Elway/Paton loves Kyle Trask (tall white QB) enough to snag him in with a 5th year option.
