The order of this 2023 NFL Mock Draft is often determined by the NFL Power Rankings, but for this update, it’s determined by the projected record in the NFL Season Previews for 2022.

*** This mock draft will be updated occasionally. Follow @walterfootball for NFL Draft updates. ***

  1. Chicago Bears: Anton Harrison, OT, Oklahoma
The Bears need everything, and that includes a left tackle because Teven Jenkins looks like a bust.

Anton Harrison has quality athleticism and quickness for a tackle.

Pick change; previously Latham Ransom, CB

  2. Atlanta Falcons: Habukkuk Baldanado, DE, Pittsburgh Pittsburgh
The Falcons have lacked a dynamic pass rush since the days of John Abraham. This area must be addressed at some point.

Habukkuk Bladanado is a huge disruptor in the trenches.

  3. Houston Texans: Zion Nelson, OT, Miami
The Texans were considering Ikem Ekwonu and Evan Neal at No. 3, but they selected Derek Stingley instead. They’ll have to find their tackle next April.

Zion Nelson was inconsistent this past season, but he has the potential to break out eventually.

Pick change; previously Anton Harrison, OT

  4. Seattle Seahawks: B.J. Ojulari, DE/OLB, LSU LSU
The Seahawks need to bolster their pass rush to deal with Matthew Stafford, Kyler Murray and Trey Lance.

B.J. Ojulari did a great job of taking over for the injured Ali Gaye in 2021.

Pick change; previously Jarrett Patterson, C

  5. New York Jets: Rashad Torrence, S, Florida Florida
The Jets may have to obtain a safety early in the 2023 NFL Draft, depending on how the production is next to Jordan Whitehead.

Rashad Torrence is a very instinctive safety.

  6. New York Giants: Brandon Joseph, CB, Notre Dame Notre Dame
The Giants need to find a new cornerback to replace James Bradberry.

Brandon Joseph is a turnover machine as a cornerback with great instincts.

Pick change; previously Emmanuel Forbes, CB

  7. Jacksonville Jaguars: Zacch Pickens, DT, South Carolina
The Jaguars have been searching for a replacement for Calais Campbell for quite some time, and I don’t think it’s out of the question that they’d double up on defensive linemen.

Zacch Pickens had a great ’21 campaign. He has plus size, quickness and athleticism.

  8. Washington Redskins: Jammie Robinson, S, Florida State
The Redskins continue to address their secondary, as they’ll need to find an answer at safety.

Jammie Robinson has been a solid run defender for Florida State.

Pick change; previously R.J. Roderick, S

  9. Arizona Cardinals: Emmanuel Forbes, CB, Mississippi State Mississippi State
The Cardinals have a weak group of cornerbacks, which is an issue against the Rams’ offense.

Emmanuel Forbes is a feast-or-famine cornerback.

Pick change; previously Brandon Joseph, CB

  10. New Orleans Saints: Demarvioun Overshown, LB, Texas Illinois
The Saints had interest in Quay Walker at No. 19, but opted for a tackle instead. Here’s the linebacker help they were seeking.

Demarvioun Overshown was flying all over the field at times in ’21.

Pick change; previously Jeremy Banks, LB

  11. Dallas Cowboys: Devon Witherspoon, CB, Illinois Illinois
The Cowboys have a need in their secondary, especially with their top rival now having two dynamic receivers.

Devon Witherspoon is not quite six feet, but he has incredible speed.

Pick change; previously Richard Jibunor, DE

  12. Minnesota Vikings: Jaren Hall, QB, BYU BYU
Minnesota’s linebacking corps is weak outside of Eric Kendricks, so here’s some help.

Jaren Hall is a rushing threat who has a quality arm.

Pick change; previously Trenton Simpson, LB

  13. Miami Dolphins: Storm Duck, CB, North Carolina
Miami may trade Byron Jones at some point, given the rumors always circulating about him being dealt.

Storm Duck is a 6-foot-5 cornerback, but advance scouts are high on his ability.

  14. Pittsburgh Steelers: Paris Johnson, OT/G, Ohio State Ohio State
Paris Johnson has the athleticism to play left tackle in the NFL.

Pick change; previously Zion Nelson, OT

  15. Tennessee Titans: Dontayvion Wicks, WR, Virginia
Even if Treylon Burks pans out, the Titans don’t have much receiving talent.

Dontayvion Wicks is a lengthy receiver who broke out during his ’21 season.

Pick change; previously B.J. Ojulari, DE/OLB

  16. Cleveland Browns: Zach Harrison, DE, Ohio State
Cleveland’s pass rush is a bit weak, which is a problem, given how many great passing attacks reside in the AFC.

Zach Harrison has nice potential with his athletic ability.

  17. New England Patriots: Nick Broeker, OT/G, Ole Miss
The Patriots had some major protection issues in training camp and the preseason, so they’ll need some offensive line help.

Nick Broeker may have to switch to guard in the NFL.

Pick change; previously Nolan Smith, DE

  18. Las Vegas Raiders: Jahmyr Gibbs, RB, Alabama Alabama
The Raiders don’t appear to have long-term plans for Josh Jacobs. If Zamir White isn’t the answer, the Raiders could use this pick on a running back.

Jahmyr Gibbs is an instinctive back who runs with power and catches passes well.

Pick change; previously Zach Evans, RB

  19. Carolina Panthers: Jaxon Kirkland, G, Washington Washington
The Panthers need to continue to strengthen their offensive line.

Jaxon Kirkland can play right tackle, but seems like a better fit at guard.

Pick change; previously Javion Cohen, G

  20. Indianapolis Colts: Joey Porter Jr., CB, Penn State Penn State
Stephon Gilmore is just a temporary solution. The Colts need a new corner for the long haul.

The son of the former Steeler great is a 6-2 cornerback with high potential.

Pick change; previously Nick Broeker, OT/G

  21. Detroit Lions: K.J. Jefferson, QB, Arkansas
Detroit could pursue a quarterback to challenge Jared Goff.

K.J. Jefferson showed good accuracy and great running talent this past season.

  22. Los Angeles Rams: Gervon Dexter, DT, Florida
The Rams could stand to add more talent around Aaron Donald on their defensive line.

Gervon Dexter is a lengthy defensive lineman with plus quickness and strength.

Pick change; previously Fabian Lovett, DT

  23. Baltimore Ravens: Brian Branch, CB, Alabama Alabama
Between the improved passing attacks in the conference, and the issues at the position last year, the Ravens must address cornerback.

Brian Branch has nice size and cover ability.

  24. Kansas City Chiefs: Cameron Latu, TE, Alabama
Travis Kelce will turn 34 after the 2023 NFL Draft, so the Chiefs will need to think about finding a successor.

Cameron Latu has good size and athleticism.

  25. Green Bay Packers: Davis Allen, TE, Clemson
Here’s another weapon for Aaron Rodgers, who needs a better tight end than Robert Tonyan.

  26. San Francisco 49ers: Akeem Dent, S/CB, Florida State Florida State
I’m shocked the 49ers didn’t upgrade safety in the 2022 NFL Draft. They may regret that.

Akeem Dent improved as this past season progressed. He can play cornerback and safety.

Pick change; previously Jay Ward, S

  27. Seattle Seahawks: Jeremy Banks, LB, Tennessee
The Seahawks will have to upgrade their linebacking corps soon in the wake of Bobby Wagner’s departure.

Pick change; previously Parker Washington, WR

  28. Los Angeles Chargers: Jaelyn Dyncan, OT, Maryland
The one weakness on the Chargers’ offensive line continues to be right tackle.

Jaelyn Duncan is a team captain who showed some solid athleticism.

Pick change; previously Kamari Morales, TE

  29. Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Kenny McIntosh, RB, Georgia
Leonard Fournette sounds like he’s closing in on 500 pounds, so the Buccaneers may want a running back who’s in shape.

Kenny McIntosh flashed in a relief role prior to the ’22 season. He’s an excellent receiver.

Pick change; previously Kendall Milton, RB

  30. Cincinnati Bengals: Will Mallory, TE, Miami
Cincinnati had strong interest in Trey McBride in the second round, but he was plucked off the board before the team was on the clock.

  31. Philadelphia Eagles: Tony Grimes, CB, North Carolina North Carolina
The Eagles were considering a cornerback at No. 18 before they traded the pick for A.J. Brown.

Tony Grimes has high potential and good size (6-1).

Pick change; previously David Spaulding, CB

  32. Buffalo Bills: Javion Cohen, G, Alabama
The Bills still have a hole at guard they need to plug.

Javion Cohen is a strong interior lineman with plenty of power.

Pick change; previously Ryan Hayes, G/OT
