*** This mock draft will be updated occasionally. Follow @walterfootball for NFL Draft updates. ***

  1. Chicago Bears: Xavier Hutchinson, WR, Iowa State Iowa State
The Bears need to continue adding the best talent at almost any position. They’re desperate for receiver help.

Xavier Hutchinson is a quality route-runner with solid hands.

  2. Houston Texans: Eli Ricks, CB, Alabama Alabama
The Texans drafted Derek Stingley last year, but they were hurting for better play across from him.

Eli Ricks is a 6-2 cornerback who had a breakout ’21 season for Alabama.

  3. Arizona Cardinals: Byron Young, DE, Tennessee Tennessee
The Cardinals must improve their pass rush after losing Chandler Jones and J.J. Watt in consecutive offseasons.

Byron Young is undersized, but has dangerous speed and athleticism.

  4. Indianapolis Colts: Ali Gaye, DE, LSU LSU
Yannick Ngakoue could leave via free agency this offseason, so here’s a potential replacement.

Ali Gaye has huge upside, but hadn’t lived up to it at LSU.

  5. New England Patriots: Wanya Morris, OT, Oklahoma Oklahoma
The Patriots have a couple of free agent tackles, so they may pursue multiple offensive linemen.

Wanya Morris needs to get stronger, but he’s an athletic blocker.

  6. Denver Broncos: Richard Gouraige, OT/G, Florida Florida
The Broncos need to improve their offensive line to give Russell Wilson the best chance of living up to expectations.

Richard Gouraige is a better run blocker than pass protector. He can move inside to guard.

Pick change; previously Olusegun Oluwatimi, C

  7. Las Vegas Raiders: Chris Rodriguez, RB, Kentucky Kentucky
Josh Jacobs is set to hit free agency, so the Raiders will likely be looking to obtain another running back.

Chris Rodriguez is a power back who gets nice yards after contact.

  8. Atlanta Falcons: Andrei Iosivas, WR, Princeton Princeton
Calvin Ridley is gone, so Atlanta is in the market for another receiver.

Andrei Iosivas has an impressive combination of size and speed.

Pick change; previously Dawand Jones, OT

  9. Cleveland Browns: Devon Achane, RB, Texas A&M TexasAM
Kareem Hunt and D’Ernest Johnson are impending free agents, so the Browns will need another running back.

Devon Achane can be a dynamic third-down back in the NFL.

  10. New York Jets: Jayden Reed, WR, Michigan State Michigan State
There’s a chance the Jets could lose one of Corey Davis or Elijah Moore this offseason.

Jayden Reed is a smaller receiver, but he’s also very dangerous in terms of breaking big plays.

  11. Atlanta Falcons: Rashee Rice, WR, SMU SMU
I suspect the Falcons will double up on receivers during the 2023 NFL Draft.

Rashee Rice projects as a solid No. 2 receiver in the NFL.

  12. Carolina Panthers: Tucker Kraft, TE, South Dakota State South Dakota State
It’s been a long time since the Panthers have enjoyed good production from tight ends. Perhaps that’ll change soon.

Tucker Kraft is raw, but possesses quality upside.

  13. New Orleans Saints: Stetson Bennett, QB, Georgia Georgia
The Saints could target a quarterback earlier than this, as they’ll need to find a franchise signal-caller for the long term.

Stetson Bennett was very clutch in big games for Georgia. He’ll look to become the next Brock Purdy or Colt McCoy.

  14. Green Bay Packers: Tyler Scott, WR, Cincinnati
If Aaron Rodgers leaves, Randall Cobb is as good as gone. A replacement will be needed.

Tyler Scott is a small slot receiver, but he has major quickness.

  15. New England Patriots: Rakim Jarrett, WR, Maryland Maryland
The Patriots need to continue to bolster their dreadful receiving corps.

Rakim Jarrett didn’t have big production this past year. He can play outside or in the slot.

  16. Washington Redskins: Sam LaPorta, TE, Iowa Iowa
The Redskins are likely to lose Logan Thomas, but they needed a boost at tight end anyway.

Sam LaPorta is a bit short for his position, but could be a quality receiving threat.

  17. Minnesota Vikings: Sydney Brown, S, Illinois Illinois
The Vikings will almost certainly spend multiple picks to upgrade their troublesome secondary.

Sydney Brown was a dynamic play-maker in his senior year.

  18. Pittsburgh Steelers: Andre Carter, DE/OLB, Army Army
The Steelers were 8-2 with T.J. Watt last year, which means they were 1-6 without him. Better edge-rushing depth is needed.

Andre Carter disappointed in his final season at Army.

  19. Jacksonville Jaguars: Brenton Cox, DE/OLB, Florida Florida
Jacksonville could lose their pass-rushing depth to free agency, so they may want to find someone else to play on the edge.

Brenton Cox has a nice skill set and plenty of athleticism and upside, but he comes with off-the-field issues.

  20. Kansas City Chiefs: Luke Schoonmaker, TE, Michigan Michigan
Travis Kelce is entering his mid-30s, so the Chiefs may want to find a successor.

Luke Schoonmaker did well in all regards when filling in for an injured Erick All.

  21. Seattle Seahawks: Jaren Hall, QB, BYU BYU
Geno Smith had a great comeback story, but the Seahawks need a viable starting quarterback for the long term.

Jaren Hall is a rushing threat who has a quality arm.

  22. Baltimore Ravens: Dawand Jones, OT, Ohio State Ohio State
Baltimore could stand to improve its pass protection for whichever quarterback starts under center for them next year.

Dawand Jones is a massive tackle who figures to have issues against speeed rushers.

Pick change; previously Richard Gouraige, OT/G

  23. Los Angeles Chargers: Dontay Demus, WR, Maryland Maryland
Keenan Allen may depart, so here’s a potential replacement for him.

Dontay Demus Jr. suffered a season-ending torn ACL in October 2021, but could still be a second-day pick because of his size (6-3) and athleticism.

  24. Cleveland Browns: Charlie Jones, WR, Purdue Purdue
The Browns are top-heavy at receiver, but don’t have much depth at the position.

Charlie Jones is a shifty route-runner with reliable hands.

  25. Jacksonville Jaguars: Kei’Trel Clark, CB, Louisville Louisville
Jacksonville struggled to stop the pass, so here’s some cornerback depth.

Kei’Trel Clark is a smaller corner, but has great cover ability.

  26. New York Giants: Tre’Vius Hodges-Tomlinson, CB, TCU TCU
The Giants never replaced James Bradberry. They could draft a cornerback much earlier than this.

Tre’Vius Hodges-Tomlinson is only 5-9, but he has great coverage skills as a fast and athletic prospect.

  27. Dallas Cowboys: Demarco Hellams, S, Alabama Alabama
Donovan Wilson is an impending free agent, so the Cowboys figure to target a safety at some point.

Demarco Hellams needs to show improved pass-coverage ability.

  28. Buffalo Bills: Ji’Ayir Brown, S, Penn State Penn State
The Bills have talented safeties, but they’re getting up there in age.

Ji’Ayir Brown has great instincts, but he’s short and lacks length.

  29. Cincinnati Bengals: Jordan McFadden, OT/G, Clemson Clemson
The Bengals lost in the playoffs because they had injuries to their offensive line. Better depth is needed.

Jordan McFadden may have to move to guard in the NFL.

  30. Carolina Panthers: Keeanu Benton, DT, Wisconsin Wisconsin
The Panthers need to improve their play in the interior of their defense.

Keeanu Benton has a nice skill set and upside.

  31. Philadelphia Eagles: Rashad Torrence, S, Florida Florida
The Eagles have to improve their safety play, given their weakness to tight ends.

Rashad Torrence is a very instinctive safety.

  32. Kansas City Chiefs: Habakkuk Baldonado, DE, Pittsburgh Pittsburgh
The Chiefs’ pass rush improved late in the year, but it could still stand to be better.

Habakkuk Baldonado is a huge disruptor in the trenches.
