  1. Cleveland Browns: Armani Watts, S, Texas A&M
The Browns lost Tashaun Gipson this year. Outside of a mid-round selection, they didn’t really address that hole, so they could do that early in the 2017 NFL Draft.

  2. San Francisco 49ers: Darren Carrington, WR, Oregon
I don’t understand why the 49ers avoided addressing the receiver position until late in the 2016 NFL Draft. How did they not realize that they have such a huge need in that area?

Pick change; previously Travin Dural, WR

  3. Cleveland Browns: Dan Feeney, G, Indiana
I liked Spencer Drango as a value in the middle rounds, but if he doesn’t show any signs of being able to play in the NFL as a rookie, Cleveland could spend an early 2017 choice on a better interior blocker.

Pick change; previously Darren Carrington, WR

  4. Los Angeles Rams: Jourdan Lewis, CB, Michigan
The Rams spent most of their resources upgrading the offense in the 2016 NFL Draft. They’ll have to switch back to their defense, as they never found a replacement for Janoris Jenkins.

  5. New Orleans Saints: Carl Lawson, DE/OLB, Auburn
It wouldn’t have been a surprise had the Saints selected Shaq Lawson at No. 12 overall. They didn’t, so here’s another much-needed edge rusher who could potentially strengthen their defense.

  6. Atlanta Falcons: Conor McDermott, OT, UCLA
Ryan Schraeder has turned out to be a talented right tackle for the Falcons, but he could command a large contract as a free agent next spring. Here’s a potential replacement if he departs.

  7. Miami Dolphins: Raekwon McMillan, LB, Ohio State
There was some speculation that the Dolphins were going to draft Myles Jack at No. 13 overall, but Laremy Tunsil dropped to them. They can finally address the linebacker position at this juncture.

  8. Detroit Lions: Davon Godchaux, DT, LSU
Another second-round defensive tackle? The Lions drafted A’Shawn Robinson, but another player at the position makes sense, given that Haloti Ngata won’t be on the roster much longer.

  9. San Diego Chargers: DeMarcus Walker, DE/DT, Florida State
It would’ve made more sense for the Chargers to draft DeForest Buckner over Joey Bosa, as they currently have a big hole at one of their defensive end spots.

Pick change; previously Da’Shawn Hand, DE/DT

  10. Philadelphia Eagles: Eddie Vanderdoes, DT, UCLA
The Eagles are transitioning back to the 4-3 – shifting to the 3-4 in the first place was yet another example of Chip Kelly’s utter incompetence – so they’ll need some more defensive line depth.

  11. Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Tony Conner, S, Ole Miss
The Buccaneers have a horrible safety situation, and it was completely shocking that they moved up for a kicker rather than someone like Vonn Bell.

  12. New York Giants: Carlos Watkins, DT, Clemson
The Giants didn’t add any sort of interior pass-rushing depth like I thought they would, so they can make amends for that at this juncture.

  13. New York Jets: Tim Williams, DE/OLB, Alabama
The Jets just spent a third-round pick on an edge rusher, but I don’t think Jordan Jenkins will be enough to cure their need for an exterior pass-rusher.

  14. Jacksonville Jaguars: O.J. Howard, TE, Alabama
I’m not saying anything crazy by declaring that Julius Thomas was a disappointment for the Jaguars last season. If he has another bad year, Jacksonville could part ways with him, opening the door for a possible O.J. Howard selection.

  15. Baltimore Ravens: Reuben Foster, ILB, Alabama
An inside linebacker from Alabama worked for the Ravens before, so why not try another one? A replacement for the departed Daryl Smith was never found.

  16. Dallas Cowboys: Cordrea Tankersley, CB, Clemson
The Cowboys blew it by passing on Jalen Ramsey. Apparently, cornerbacks who can erase half the field aren’t valuable commodities. Perhaps the front office will prevent Jerry Jones from making stupid decisions next spring.

  17. Chicago Bears: Da’Shawn Hand, DE/DT, Alabama
The Bears made a nice pick in the third round by taking Jonathan Bullard, but they could still stand to find help on the defensive line.

Pick change; previously DeMarcus Walker, DE/DT

  18. Buffalo Bills: Skai Moore, LB, South Carolina
Three of Buffalo’s linebackers, including Manny Lawson, have expiring contracts after this season, so another second-round pick could be used on the position.

  19. Denver Broncos: Jake Butt, TE, Michigan
If Jeff Heuerman can’t emerge from the rear of the depth chart to becoming a solid starter, the Broncos could consider someone like Jake Butt in the second round of the 2017 NFL Draft.

  20. Indianapolis Colts: Corey Clement, RB, Wisconsin
The Colts don’t have a promising eventual replacement for Frank Gore, so that’s something they could target early in the 2017 NFL Draft.

  21. Washington Redskins: Lowell Lotulelei, NT, Utah
I imagine the Redskins will regret not finding a nose tackle in the 2016 NFL Draft. It would make sense for them to do that next April.

  22. Kansas City Chiefs: Caleb Peterson, G, North Carolina
The Chiefs have a hole at guard as a result of Jeff Allen’s departure. I’m not sure if fourth-round rookie Parker Ehinger will be able to fill the void properly.

Pick change; previously Dan Feeney, G

  23. Houston Texans: Jordan Leggett, TE, Clemson
The Texans did a great job of upgrading their offense, but the one position they didn’t address was tight end. I imagine that’ll be a goal of theirs early in the 2017 NFL Draft.

  24. Minnesota Vikings: Dan Voltz, C, Wisconsin
John Sullivan is a 31-year-old coming off back surgery. If his play regresses in 2016, the Vikings will look to spend an early selection on a replacement.

  25. Oakland Raiders: Kendell Beckwith, LB, LSU
It was a bit surprising to see the Raiders fail to address the linebacker position, especially after seeing both Myles Jack and Darron Lee fall to them at No. 14. They may regret passing on one of the two.

  26. New England Patriots: Zach Banner, OT, USC
The Patriots have some expiring contracts at the tackle position in the near future, so they could spend an early pick in the 2017 NFL Draft to fix their depth issues.

  27. Green Bay Packers: Evan Engram, TE, Ole Miss
The Packers passed on tight ends because of Jared Cook. Given how horrible Cook’s attitude has been over the years, they may regret that decision.

  28. Seattle Seahawks: Lorenzo Carter, DE, Georgia
I thought there was a good chance that the Seahawks would upgrade their edge rush this offseason, but they didn’t pull the trigger. They can make amends for that at this juncture.

Pick change; previously Devonte Fields, DE/OLB

  29. Pittsburgh Steelers: Isaac Rochell, DE/DT, Notre Dame
Heading into the 2016 NFL Draft, the Steelers wanted to strengthen their defensive front rotation. I don’t think they accomplished their goals.

  30. Carolina Panthers: Johnathan Ford, S, Auburn
The Panthers spent most of the 2016 NFL Draft upgrading their cornerback position. The safety group also needs to be upgraded.

  31. Cincinnati Bengals: Charles Walker, DT, Oklahoma
Andrew Billings appears to be a great value pick, but the Bengals could still stand to add some talent to the interior of their defensive line.

Pick change; previously Lorenzo Carter, DE/OLB

  32. Arizona Cardinals: Sidney Jones, CB, USC
I liked Arizona’s pick of Harlan Miller, but I don’t think he’s enough to properly bolster their cornerback position, which needs help right now.
