  1. Cleveland Browns: Antonio Garcia, OT, Troy
The Browns lost Alex Mack and Mitchell Schwartz last offseason, and they’ll need to replace both this offseason. They can address the right tackle spot with this selection by taking the rising Antonio Garcia.

  2. San Francisco 49ers: Zay Jones, WR, East Carolina
I don’t understand why the 49ers avoided addressing the receiver position until late in the 2016 NFL Draft. How did they not realize that they have such a huge need in that area? Perhaps the new front office will make amends for this mistake.

Pick change; previously John Ross, WR

  3. Jacksonville Jaguars: David Njoku, TE, Miami
The Jaguars just traded Julius Thomas to the Dolphins, so perhaps they’ll use a second-day selection on a tight end who isn’t constantly injured and lethargic.

  4. Chicago Bears: Jalen Tabor, CB, Florida
The Bears have some promising young talent at cornerback, but they still need help at the position, and I can’t imagine them passing on a great value like Jalen Tabor in the second round.

  5. Los Angeles Rams: Curtis Samuel, WR, Ohio State
The Rams keep waiting for Brian Quick to do something, but it’s not happening. They need to find another weapon for Jared Goof. People in Los Angeles currently don’t care about the Rams, but perhaps there will be interest from three or four more people if the team selects a dynamic play-maker like Curtis Samuel.

  6. Los Angeles Chargers: T.J. Watt, LB, Wisconsin
The Chargers have mostly been using Joey Bosa on the defensive line, so they could stand to find another outside linebacker to play across from Melvin Ingram. T.J. Watt, the younger brother of J.J. Watt, could be chosen in the first round, so he provides good value here.

  7. New York Jets: Tre’Davious White, CB, LSU
It’s no secret that the Jets need help at cornerback. Darrelle Revis has been in major decline, and he was considered a candidate for release even before his street fight. This pick may not provide the same sort of sonic boom that a quarterback selection would provide, but New York would almost certainly jump at the opportunity to grab a corner who could easily be chosen in the first round.

  8. Carolina Panthers: Alvin Kamara, RB, Tennessee
Jonathan Stewart is still a quality runner, but he turns 30 this March, so Carolina might envision someone like Alvin Kamara as Cam Newton’s backfield partner for the next 8-10 years.

  9. Cincinnati Bengals: Dawuane Smoot, DE/OLB, Illinois
The Bengals don’t have a very good edge rush, as Carlos Dunlap is the only defensive end capable of putting consistent heat on opposing quarterbacks. Michael Johnson is a bust signing and must be upgraded.

  10. New Orleans Saints: Quincy Wilson, CB, Florida
Two of the Saints’ early-round picks are expected to be used on a pass-rusher and a cornerback. Here’s an upgrade for the latter position, as the Saints pick up a strong value in Quincy Wilson at this juncture.

Pick change; previously Gareon Conley, CB

  11. Philadelphia Eagles: Gareon Conley, CB, Ohio State
The Eagles have needed to upgrade their dubious cornerback situation for quite some time now, and I expect them to do so in the first couple of rounds in the 2017 NFL Draft. There are tons of strong cornerback prospects available in this class, so the Eagles can afford to wait until the second round.

Pick change; previously Zay Jones, WR

  12. Buffalo Bills: Jourdan Lewis, CB, Michigan
The Bills will likely select a cornerback early in the 2017 NFL Draft unless they pick up someone in free agency. Stephon Gilmore struggled this past season, and he happens to be a free agent anyway.

  13. Arizona Cardinals: Chris Wormley, DE/DT, Michigan
Calais Campbell will be a 31-year-old free agent entering next offseason. It goes without saying that the Cardinals will have to replace him if he leaves.

  14. Minnesota Vikings: Forrest Lamp, G/C, Western Kentucky
The Vikings are desperate for help on the offensive line. Tackle is a big problem area, but so is guard. Brandon Fusco was released, but he needed to be upgraded anyway. Minnesota would love Forrest Lamp, as he can also play center if needed.

Pick change; previously Taylor Moton, OT

  15. Baltimore Ravens: Dan Feeney, G, Indiana
The Ravens really missed Kelechi Osemele this season, as his absence bogged down the offense. It’ll be difficult to replace the All-Pro guard, unless Baltimore can land a talented prospect like Dan Feeney in the second round. Giving the Ravens neighborly advice about taking Feeney isn’t necessary, as Ozzie Newsome is smart enough to pull the trigger.

  16. Indianapolis Colts: Haason Reddick, DE/OLB, Temple
Haason Reddick’s draft stock has been rising, and I’ve seen him pop up in some first rounds of mock drafts. I wouldn’t go that far yet, but I’d consider slotting him into the first frame if he performs extremely well at the combine. There’s no doubt that Reddick would improve Indianapolis’ poor pass rush.

  17. Washington Redskins: Obi Melifonwu, S, Connecticut
As mentioned in the first round, the Redskins need help at defensive end, inside linebacker and safety to shore up the middle of their defense. Obi Melifonwu, who had a terrific Senior Bowl, seems like the type of prospect the Redskins love.

  18. Tampa Bay Buccaneers: JuJu Smith-Schuster, WR, USC
The Buccaneers need a second receiver across from Mike Evans, as Vincent Jackson’s playing days are almost over. JuJu Smith-Schuster provides solid value for Tampa in the middle of the second frame.

  19. Denver Broncos: Evan Engram, TE, Ole Miss
It’s safe to say that the Dolphins haven’t exactly gotten what they had expected out of Jordan Cameron, though not all of that is his fault, given his concussion issues. Here’s a much-needed upgrade at tight end.

  20. Cleveland Browns: Desmond King, S/CB, Iowa
The Browns fixed some of their issues on defense in the first round by selecting an edge rusher and a cornerback. Here’s something else for the secondary, as the Browns have some of the worst safeties in the NFL, so they need to make some upgrades.

  21. Detroit Lions: Jarrad Davis, LB, Florida
DeAndre Levy has played in only six games the past two seasons, and the Lions would need an upgrade at linebacker even if he were healthy most of the time. I’d expect an early pick to be used on the position fairly early in the 2017 NFL Draft.

  22. Miami Dolphins: Carlos Watkins, DT, Clemson
The Dolphins got rid of Earl Mitchell and probably laughed as they watched the 49ers overpay for him. Nevertheless, Miami needs some interior defensive line help.

Pick change; previously Forrest Lamp, G

  23. New York Giants: Julie’n Davenport, OT, Bucknell
The Giants spent their first-round pick on Deshaun Watson, so here’s a quality blocker for their new quarterback. New York had awful play from its tackles this season, but adding a blind-side protector and moving Ereck Flowers to the right side should work.

  24. Oakland Raiders: D’Onta Foreman, RB, Texas
Latavius Murray said he wants to re-sign with the Raiders, but I’m not sure Oakland will want him back. The coaching staff never wanted to have Murray handle the workload, so maybe the front office will spend an early draft choice on a runner they’re more confident in.

  25. Houston Texans: Gerald Everett, TE, South Alabama
The Texans desperately need a receiving threat at tight end, and Gerald Everett is one of many talented tight ends in this draft class. Houston would love Forrest Lamp falling to them toward the end of the second frame.

  26. Seattle Seahawks: Dalvin Tomlinson, DT, Alabama
Prior to the 2016 NFL Draft, one team thought the Seahawks were going to select Robert Nkemdiche. Seattle could use another interior pass-rusher to help the secondary out if there are injuries once again.

Pick change; previously Carlos Watkins, DT

  27. Kansas City Chiefs: Tim Williams, DE/OLB, Alabama
With Tamba Hali nearing retirement and Dee Ford hitting free agency soon, the Chiefs could be in the market for a new edge rusher. Tim Williams has Randy Gregory-type off-the-field concerns, but Andy Reid has taken chances on troubled players.

  28. Dallas Cowboys: Ahkello Witherspoon, CB, Colorado
As mentioned in the first round, the Cowboys are expected to address the defense early and often. Cornerback help will sorely be needed if Morris Claiborne leaves via free agency. As luck would have it, this class is stacked at corner.

Pick change; previously Malachi Dupre, WR

  29. Green Bay Packers: Brian Hill, RB, Wyoming
Ty Montgomery looked awesome at running back in a couple of games, but how sustainable is that? And will Eddie Lacy continue to gain weight? There are lots of questions at running back for the Packers, who can solve them by selecting a talented player like Brian Hill.

  30. Pittsburgh Steelers: Chris Godwin, WR, Penn State
Martavis Bryant has an expiring contract after 2017, and Pittsburgh may decide that it can’t rely on him. Ben Roethlisberger had no downfield options outside of Antonio Brown in his playoff loss to the Patriots.

  31. Atlanta Falcons: Dion Dawkins, G/OT, Temple
The Falcons could stand to upgrade Chris Chester, the one liability that they currently possess on their offensive line.

  32. New England Patriots: Jaleel Johnson, DT, Iowa
The Patriots cut Dominique Easley last offseason, but never found a replacement for him. They can do that in the early stages of the 2017 NFL Draft.

Pick change; previously Dalvin Tomlinson, DT
