  1. San Diego Chargers: Jonathan Allen, DE/DT, Alabama
The Chargers re-signed Corey Liuget to a $30 million contract this past offseason, so I don’t know how much money they want to invest in their defensive line. This is significant, as Kendall Reyes happens to be a free agent at the end of this year. San Diego may want to obtain someone more consistent up front anyway, as Reyes is having a terrible season.

    Follow @walterfootball for updates.

  2. Tennessee Titans: Corey Coleman, WR, Baylor
The Titans found help for their ailing secondary. Now, they need to build around Marcus Mariota by finding another play-maker for him. Justin Hunter has been a huge disappointment, while Kendall Wright will be a free agent after the 2016 season.

  3. Cleveland Browns: Josh Doctson, WR, TCU
The Browns have to use an early-round pick on a receiver eventually, right? They can’t keep going with retreads.

Pick change; previously Michael Thomas, WR

  4. Detroit Lions: Derrick Henry, RB, Alabama
The Lions have a disappointing stable of running backs, including Ameer Abdullah, who is not an every-down player. We’ve seen teams spend consecutive second-round picks on running backs before (most recently, the Bengals), so Detroit could definitely consider Derrick Henry at this juncture.

Pick change; previously Andrew Billings, DT

  5. San Francisco 49ers: Hunter Henry, TE, Arkansas
The 49ers just dealt Vernon Davis, so they’ll be looking to replace him at some point during the offseason. They’ll need to find better weapons for their new quarterback.

  6. Dallas Cowboys: Alex Collins, RB, Arkansas
Darren McFadden has looked good recently, but the Cowboys can’t really count on him for the long term. Here’s their running back of the future.

  7. Baltimore Ravens: Tyler Boyd, WR, Pittsburgh
Steve Smith announced that this will be his final season, so the Ravens will need a new starting receiver to go along with Breshad Perriman. Smith may decide to try to return from his torn Achilles, but either way, Baltimore can’t count on him being there in 2016. Tyler Boyd has some off-the-field concerns, but Baltimore won’t care about those.

Pick change; previously Josh Doctson, WR

  8. Oakland Raiders: Carl Nassib, DE/OLB, Penn State
The Raiders were getting decent play out of Aldon Smith, but he’s been suspended for an entire season. Trusting him for the long term is probably not a good idea, so here’s some insurance.

  9. Jacksonville Jaguars: William Jackson, CB, Houston
The Jaguars have probably won too many games to land Vernon Hargreaves atop Round 1, so this is probably the best that they can do to fix their struggling secondary.

Pick change; previously Jason Spriggs, OT

  10. St. Louis Rams: Austin Johnson, DT, Penn State
The Rams signed Nick Fairley this past offseason, but Fairley will be a free agent again in March. If the front office doesn’t retain him, a second-day choice could be used on depth.

Pick change; previously Tyler Boyd, WR

  11. Washington Redskins: Darian Thompson, S, Boise State
Here’s another potential upgrade for Washington’s woeful secondary. The first two picks in the 2016 NFL Draft could certainly be used on defensive backs.

Pick change; previously William Jackson, CB

  12. Chicago Bears: Shilique Calhoun, DE/OLB, Michigan State
The Bears need to bolster their defense. Willie Young hasn’t transitioned well into the 3-4, so like Jared Allen, he could be traded at some point. Chicago has to find a solid pass-rusher across from Pernell McPhee, and Leonard Floyd is the top prospect available.

Pick change; previously Chris Jones, DE/DT

  13. St. Louis Rams: Emmanuel Ogbah, DE, Oklahoma State
Chris Long, 31 this offseason, is no longer the player he once was, and he could be released because he’s due close to $12 million next year. Meanwhile, William Hayes is having a fantastic season, but he’s an impending free agent this spring. The Rams may try to obtain two defensive linemen early inthe 2016 NFL Draft.

Pick change; previously Maliek Collins, DT

  14. New Orleans Saints: Sebastian Tretola, G, Arkansas
If the Saints draft a new quarterback, they’ll have to upgrade the offensive line for sure, as chances are that this new signal-caller won’t be able to release the ball as quickly as Drew Brees. The guard position needs to be overhauled.

  15. Miami Dolphins: Vernon Butler, DT, Louisiana Tech
Despite some lethargic moments, Ndamukong Suh has played very well this season. The same can’t be said for the other Miami defensive tackles, so here’s some help at the position.

Pick change; previously Derrick Henry, RB

  16. Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Kendall Fuller, CB, Virginia Tech
The Buccaneers might have the weakest group of cornerbacks in the NFL. Alterraun Verner has been an abomination this season, while Johnthan Banks has only been marginally better, but only by default. This is an area that absolutely must be addressed this offseason.

  17. Seattle Seahawks: Shawn Oakman, DE/DT, Baylor
No one should’ve been surprised that Shawn Oakman returned to school, given that he was widely viewed as a second-day project. In fact, one general manager has him as a fifth- to seventh-rounder. Oakman has loads of potential and athleticism, however, so if he can actually learn how to play football, he could sneak into the first round.

  18. Buffalo Bills: Jonathan Bullard, DE, Florida
The Bills had lots of potential entering this season, as many, including myself, thought that Rex Ryan would improve a defense that was already terrific. Instead, the stop unit has struggled. Some players, like Mario Williams, have been completely dogging it, so I can’t see him being around next year. Here’s a replacement for the declining pass-rusher.

Pick change; previously Austin Johnson, DT

  19. Houston Texans: Christian Hackenberg, QB, Penn State
Half a season shouldn’t drop a prospect a whole round, but my premise behind slotting Christian Hackenberg in the top five was that he would go that high if he put together a strong 2015 campaign. It doesn’t look like that’s going to happen now, so it’s realistic could drop to the second day. If so, I’m sure the Texans would take a chance on him, given that Bill O’Brien got the most out of him when he was at Penn State.

  20. New York Jets: Jason Spriggs, OT, Indiana
A future replacement for D’Brickashaw Ferguson… or perhaps a current one. Ferguson isn’t playing as well as he has in the past, and he’ll be owed close to $9 million in 2016. If he doesn’t restructure, he could end up being a cap casualty.

Pick change; previously Jerald Hawkins, OT

  21. New York Giants: Jerald Hawkins, OT, LSU
The Giants spent an early pick last year on an offensive tackle, and they may do the same this offseason. New York may move on from the injury-prone Will Beatty, who has a cap of hit of more than $9 million next season.

Pick change; previously Jonathan Bullard, DE

  22. Indianapolis Colts: Jarran Reed, NT, Alabama
When running a 3-4, it’s never good to have a hole at nose tackle, but that’s exactly what the Colts possess. They’ve been using rookie David Parry, who hasn’t played very well. An upgrade could make a big difference.

  23. Kansas City Chiefs: Jacoby Brissett, QB, N.C. State
The next six games will be crucial for Alex Smith (and also the fans) in Kansas City. Smith can save his job by playing well down the stretch and taking the team on a run into the playoffs. The fans, as a result, will be miserable because they’ll have to watch more of Smith’s dinks and dunks going forward. However, if Smith continues to struggle, the stubborn Andy Reid may be forced to abandon him. If so, a quarterback is in play at this juncture.

  24. Atlanta Falcons: Kendell Beckwith, LB, LSU
I don’t trust these Atlanta linebackers, outside of Brooks Reed, so the Falcons could opt to strengthen this group during the offseason.

  25. Pittsburgh Steelers: Kentrell Brothers, LB, Missouri
Lawrence Timmons has enjoyed a great career in Pittsburgh, but it appears as though it’s coming to an end. Timmons, 30 next spring, has regressed recently and hasn’t been good at all this year. He has a $15 million cap hit next year, so there’s no way he’ll be back at that price. He may not be back at all.

  26. Green Bay Packers: Chris Jones, DE/DT, Mississippi State
Datone Jones has been playing better lately, but defensive end is still a position that could be addressed, given that Mike Daniels is an impending free agent.

Pick change; previously Tyler Matakevich, ILB

  27. Minnesota Vikings: Cody Whitehair, G, Kansas State
T.J. Clemmings might be Minnesota’s left tackle of the future, but the front office will have to look for a long-term left guard as well.

  28. Cincinnati Bengals: Maliek Collins, DT, Nebraska
The Bengals need to bolster the interior of their defensive line, as Domata Peko is no longer the same player he once was.

Pick change; previously Cameron Sutton, CB

  29. Denver Broncos: O.J. Howard, TE, Alabama
Owen Daniels has been a failure thus far – save for his inexplicable performance at Indianapolis – prompting John Elway to trade for Vernon Davis. The problem is, Davis hasn’t played well for two years now. The Broncos could use a better tight end to properly replace Julius Thomas.

  30. Arizona Cardinals: Jack Allen, C, Michigan State
The Cardinals haven’t been able to find a center they’ve been comfortable with for a while, so they could use an early draft pick to finally address this position.

  31. Carolina Panthers: Sheldon Day, DT, Notre Dame
The Panthers could use some interior defensive line depth, especially with some contracts expiring soon.

  32. New England Patriots: Darron Lee, DE/OLB, Ohio State
The Patriots rush the passer well right now, but two of their top three edge defenders, Jabaal Sheard and Rob Ninkovich, will be free agents in March 2017. Here’s a pass-rusher who could start in his second season if both players move on.
