*** 2016 NFL MOCK DRAFT (2 rounds) updated May 7. This NFL Mock Draft will be updated occasionally for important events. Check out old versions of this 2016 NFL Mock Draft in the archived mock section. Follow @walterfootball for NFL Draft updates. ***
  1. Tennessee Titans: Joey Bosa, DE/DT, Ohio State
Joey Bosa dominated college football this past year and would’ve definitely been a top-five pick in the 2015 class had he been draft-eligible. He’s not, so the Titans would strongly consider him at No. 1 overall, as he could provide a big boost to their porous defense. Unlike Leonard Williams this year, Bosa will likely be viewed as the top consensus prospect in the draft.

    Follow @walterfootball for updates.

  2. Oakland Raiders: Laremy Tunsil, OT, Ole Miss
The Raiders are fine now at left tackle with Donald Penn stationed there at the moment. However, Penn is entering his contract year, and given that he’ll turn 33 prior to the 2016 season, Oakland may want to find a long-term blind-side protector.

Laremy Tunsil is expected to be the top tackle available for the 2016 NFL Draft, and he could really help improve Derek Carr’s blocking over the next decade.

  3. Cleveland Browns: Cardale Jones, QB, Ohio State
The Browns failed to trade up for Marcus Mariota, so they’ll have to find their quarterback of the future next spring; Chris Mortensen reported that Cleveland has “90 percent” given up on a quarterback who rolls $20s in bathrooms. Mike Pettine called the report “90-percent inaccurate,” but he was 90-percent lying in order to maintain leverage for Mariota.

Cardale Jones would’ve been a second-round prospect had he declared for the 2015 NFL Draft, though there was a chance he would’ve gone late in the first via a team trading up. That will hardly be the case in the 2016 NFL Draft. If Jones starts and continues to thrive, he’ll be a top-five selection, and he could potentially go No. 1 overall. He has way too much upside and natural talent, displaying Ben Roethlisberger- or Daunte Culpepper-type ability.

  4. San Francisco 49ers: Vernon Hargreaves, CB, Florida
The 49ers lost multiple cornerbacks this offseason, but curiously neglected the position throughout the entire 2015 NFL Draft. Perhaps they didn’t like any of the corners, but they’ll be desperate to address the position next spring once they see how much their secondary will struggle.

  5. Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Robert Nkemdiche, DE, Ole Miss
The Buccaneers have whiffed on some defensive end prospects and free agents, but they’re almost certain to hit with this one. They desperately need to find another pass-rusher to complement Gerald McCoy, who is currently the only Tampa player who can consistently get to the quarterback.

  6. Chicago Bears: Christian Hackenberg, QB, Penn State
It was rumored that the Bears could trade Jay Cutler to the Titans for the No. 2 pick. I imagine Tennessee’s front office laughing at the proposal; I doubt it would’ve even taken Cutler for free, given his horrific contract situation. The Bears will be able to get rid of him next spring and try another quarterback.

Christian Hackenberg had a rough sophomore campaign, but he has all the talent in the world. He was great in the bowl game, so perhaps that’s a sign of things to come. If Hackenberg has a strong 2015 season, he’ll be in top-five consideration.

  7. Washington Redskins: Ronnie Stanley, OT, Notre Dame
The Redskins surprised some by selecting Brandon Scherff with the No. 5 overall pick. It remains to be seen where they plan on playing him. If they want to station him at guard, someone like Ronnie Stanley will definitely be in play in the first round of the 2016 NFL Draft. Washington needs to continue to bolster its offensive line to protect Robert Griffin.

  8. Jacksonville Jaguars: Laquon Treadwell, WR, Ole Miss
The rumors about the Jaguars considering Amari Cooper were untrue. The front office drafted two receivers early the previous year, so it wants to give them time to develop. If, however, one of them disappoints this upcoming season, this will be an option Jacksonville will explore. There was previous optimism about Justin Blackmon turning things around, but it seems like the team has given up on him now.

  9. New York Jets: Connor Cook, QB, Michigan State
Connor Cook is probably the worst-case scenario for the Jets, who will need a quarterback because neither Ryan Fitzpatrick nor Geno Smith will be successful in 2015, and Bryce Petty is just a backup-caliber quarterback. The issue is that by signing Darrelle Revis and Antonio Cromartie, New York has effectively taken itself out of contention for Cardale Jones and perhaps even Christian Hackenberg.

  10. Atlanta Falcons: Jalen Ramsey, S, Florida State
Safety was a big need for the Falcons heading into this past draft, but they strangely ignored the position until the end of the seventh round. The team will continue to struggle against the pass, which may prompt the front office to consider the top safety in next year’s class.

  11. New York Giants: Tyler Boyd, WR, Pittsburgh
The Giants were going to consider one of the top receivers if either fell to them at No. 9 in the past draft. Both Amari Cooper and Kevin White were off the board, however, so New York could look at the position next spring. The team needs a second wideout because Victor Cruz’s career could effectively be over.

  12. St. Louis Rams: Kendall Fuller, CB, Virginia Tech
The Rams are set at cornerback right now, but two of their top three players at the position – Janoris Jenkins, Trumaine Johnson – have expiring contracts at the end of the 2015 season. This could be an area St. Louis will target with its first-round selection in the 2016 NFL Draft.

  13. New Orleans Saints: Leonard Floyd, DE/OLB, Georgia
The Saints drafted injury-risk Hau’oli Kikaha in the second round of the 2015 draft. Even if he pans out, the team will need another pass-rusher to put pressure on the many talented quarterbacks in the NFC South.

  14. Miami Dolphins: Myles Jack, LB/RB, UCLA
The Dolphins have just one viable three-down linebacker on the roster in Jelani Jenkins. Koa Misi is a solid, two-down defender, but Miami has to find a third linebacker. If the Dolphins don’t accomplish that in the 2015 NFL Draft, they could select someone like Myles Jack in the first round next April.

  15. Houston Texans: A’Shawn Robinson, DE/DT, Alabama
The Texans did a good job of addressing some of their needs this offseason, but they never properly addressed the departure of Antonio Smith. They’ll have to find an upgrade from J.J. Watt sometime in the near future.

  16. Detroit Lions: Taylor Decker, OT, Ohio State
The Lions upgraded the guard position in the 2015 draft, but they still have a huge hole at right tackle. I can’t imagine them failing to address this void two years in a row.
