  1. San Diego Chargers: Todd Gurley, RB, Georgia
Ryan Mathews is an impending free agent, while Branden Oliver cooled off toward the end of the season following a hot start. If Mathews leaves, the Chargers will have to find someone to complement Oliver. Todd Gurley, who would be a top-10 prospect if it weren’t for his knee injury, provides great value here. He’s the successor to LaDainian Tomlinson that San Diego has been searching for.

Pick change; previously Melvin Gordon, RB

  2. Kansas City Chiefs: La’el Collins, OT/G, LSU
The Chiefs had pass protection issues this past season – only six teams surrendered more sacks – and I doubt Andy Reid will pass on an offensive lineman in the first couple of rounds. Reid loves drafting linemen, and he’s getting a bit of steal at No. 18 with La’el Collins, who could go as high as the 12th spot to the Browns.

Pick change; previously Breshad Perriman, WR

  3. Cleveland Browns: Andrus Peat, OT, Stanford
The Browns have expressed a desire to fortify their offensive and defensive lines, so they can take care of the former with this selection. The front office wanted to upgrade Mitchell Schwartz last year, with plans to move him inside. Here’s a potential new starter in Andrus Peat, who could easily go as high as No. 9 to the Giants.

    Pick change; previously

  4. Philadelphia Eagles: Jalen Collins, CB, LSU
There’s a chance the Eagles will move up for Marcus Mariota, especially if he slips past the second-overall pick, but moving from No. 20 to No. 2 would cost too much. It would deplete Philadelphia’s depth and prevent them from improving its awful secondary.

Jalen Collins, who looked great at the NFL Combine, is the type of impressive, tall athlete that Chip Kelly likes having in his defense. The Eagles are obviously looking for a cornerback, as the top three players in the NFL Mock Draft Consensus Selections are all corners.

  5. Cincinnati Bengals: Alvin Dupree, DE/OLB, Kentucky
The Bengals’ pass rush was inconsistent this past year, as the team has missed Michael Johnson’s presence. Perhaps they’ll spend their first-round pick on a defensive end. They definitely will if they can get a steal like Alvin Dupree at No. 21. Dupree would go much earlier, but there are just so many blue-chip players at his position, so it was tough to slot him in.

  6. Pittsburgh Steelers: Landon Collins, S, Alabama
It always seems like a talented prospect falls to the Steelers every April, and that could be Landon Collins this year. Some are down on Collins, so he could slip. Pittsburgh will be happy if he does; Michael Mitchell proved to be a disappointment last year, while Troy Polamalu won’t be with the team much longer.

  7. Detroit Lions: Eddie Goldman, DE/DT, Florida State
The Lions suddenly need to look at defensive tackles. Both Ndamukong Suh and Nick Fairley are hitting free agency in March, as is top backup C.J. Mosley. It might be difficult to re-sign two of those three.

Pick change; previously Malcom Brown, DT

  8. Arizona Cardinals: Eric Kendricks, ILB, UCLA
The Cardinals have had major issues covering tight ends the past two years. The main problem in this regard this past season was the inside linebacker position. Karlos Dansby and Daryl Washington were both missed. Eric Kendricks is a solid choice at this juncture; he’s the top consensus inside linebacker, and the only player at his position basically guaranteed a spot in the first round.

  9. Carolina Panthers: T.J. Clemmings, OT, Pittsburgh
The Panthers couldn’t block for Cam Newton whatsoever early in the season. The offensive line was able to gel late in the year, but there are still some glaring holes there, particularly at both tackle positions. Charlie Campbell reported that multiple teams have second-day grades on T.J. Clemmings, as you can see in the NFL Draft Rumor Mill, but he has enough upside to be chosen late in the first frame.

  10. Baltimore Ravens: Melvin Gordon, RB, Wisconsin
Justin Forsett came out of nowhere to have a huge year for the Ravens in the wake of Ray Rice’s suspension. Unfortunately for the Ravens, Forsett is a free agent, and it could be difficult to keep him because he may command a lot of money this offseason. If he leaves, Baltimore could consider a running back whom many compare to Jamaal Charles.

Pick change; previously Breshad Perriman, WR

  11. Dallas Cowboys: Eli Harold, DE/OLB, Virginia
The Cowboys couldn’t get any pressure on Colt McCoy in an embarrassing Monday night defeat. Mark Sanchez had a clean pocket on Thanksgiving. Aaron Rodgers had all the time he needed in the divisional round of the playoffs. That has to change. Several upgrades can be obtained on the defensive line.

  12. Denver Broncos: Markus Golden, DE/OLB, Missouri
The Broncos are switching to a 3-4 defense under Wade Phillips, so one of the positions they’ll need to address is outside linebacker. They have Von Miller and DeMarcus Ware slated to start there, but they don’t have much depth behind them. Besides, counting on a 33-year-old Ware to be productive for the entire season would be a mistake.

  13. Indianapolis Colts: Arik Armstead, DE/DT, Oregon
Cory Redding was a stud this past year, but he will be a 34-year-old free agent in March. A long-term pass-rusher on the defensive line is needed, and Arik Armstead, who has tremendous upside, is one of the top players available.

  14. Green Bay Packers: Jordan Phillips, NT, Oklahoma
Both B.J. Raji and Letroy Guion are free agents. At least one won’t be back, which means the Packers will need another big body up front. With no inside linebackers worth taking here, Green Bay could go with one of the top players on its board.

  15. Seattle Seahawks: Jaelen Strong, WR, Arizona State
The Seahawks need play-makers in their receiving corps. They love athletic players, so I have to believe that they’d consider Combine standout Jaelen Strong, who has loads of potential, at the end of the first round.

  16. New England Patriots: Devin Smith, WR, Ohio State
The Patriots were unstoppable on offense for the most part during their Super Bowl run, but they still need to find some help for Tom Brady in the receiving corps. Relying on the likes of Brandon LaFell doesn’t sound like a good proposition for the long term.
