Florida vs. Michigan.
Line: Michigan by 6.

Saturday, 12:00 p.m.

Michigan won’t have two of its best defensive players in this game, as Devin Bush and Rashan Gary have opted to skip this game, and rightly so. There’s also some chance for distraction with the Wolverines, as there are rumors of Jim Harbaugh bolting to the pros. I’m not saying it’ll happen, but this is undoubtedly something the players have been asked about leading up to this game. Meanwhile, Florida head coach Dan Mullen was 5-2 in blows while coaching Mississippi State.

Notre Dame vs. Clemson.
Line: Clemson by 11.5.

Saturday, 4:00 p.m.

This spread is way too high. Notre Dame has been a much better team than it was earlier in the season when it had some close calls. The reason for this was the quarterback switch to Ian Book. Notre Dame should keep this close and perhaps win outright against a Clemson team that had to suspend some of its players for the ghastly crime of smoking weed. One such player is dominant defensive tackle Dexter Lawrence, and his absence will be felt despite Clemson having other terrific defensive linemen.

FINAL THOUGHTS: This is one of three college football games that mean something in the bowl season, so let’s do some final thoughts! The public is on Notre Dame, while the sharps haven’t touched this game. That’s why the spread has dropped to +10.5. I still feel it’s too high, as these teams are close to one another, especially with Dexter Lawrence out of the lineup. Speaking of Lawrence, his situation is a distraction, so I would still bet the Irish highly.

Oklahoma vs. Alabama.
Line: Alabama by 14.

Saturday, 8:00 p.m.

Handicapping this game seems simple to me. Alabama’s offense is great. Alabama’s defense is great. Oklahoma’s offense is great. Oklahoma’s defense is, well, awful. The Sooners can’t tackle whatsoever, and thus, their stop unit is the weak link in this matchup. The Tide will keep Kyler Murray in check, while Oklahoma won’t be able to do anything against Tua Tagovailoa, who will be pissed that he didn’t win the Heisman. Furthermore, Nick Saban has had extra time to prepare for this game, which means Oklahoma is primed to get blown out.

FINAL THOUGHTS: Wow, Notre Dame would’ve covered if it wasn’t for that one play. Oh man. In all seriousness, Alabama looks like the right side, especially with the sharps betting them through the number of -14. This just seems like such a mismatch.

College Football Pick: Alabama -14 -105 (4 Units) – Bovada

Washington vs. Ohio State.
Line: Ohio State by 6.5.

Tuesday, 5:00 p.m.

Urban Meyer has had extra time to prepare for his final game as a head coach in quite a while, and perhaps even forever. Think he’s going to come up with an awesome game plan? I imagine the players will want to send him out in style, so that’s added incentive to play well. And to top it off, Ohio State is much, much better than Washington.

College Football Pick: Ohio State -6.5 (4 Units) – Bookmaker

Texas vs. Georgia.
Line: Georgia by 13.

Tuesday, 8:45 p.m.

Georgia already played its big game. That was the SEC Championship against Alabama. The Bulldogs looked like they were going to win until Jalen Hurts led a great comeback. With that in mind, where’s the motivation going to be for the Bulldogs to play this game against a team that didn’t even win its conference? Texas was the runner-up in the Big XII, but it nearly beat Oklahoma twice. Georgia, meanwhile, could be distracted by the Justin Fields transfer.

Clemson vs. Alabama.
Line: Alabama by 5.5.

Monday, 8:05 p.m.

Forgive me for not posting this pick until the day of. After suffering eight units’ worth of back-door bad beats in the Alabama-Oklahoma and Ohio State-Washington games, I was not exactly enthused about betting on kids.

However, the day has arrived, so here’s my selection. I like Alabama. Clemson is a terrific team because of Trevor Lawrence and the defensive line, but Alabama should be able to neutralize both of those strengths. Lawrence is the top pick in my 2021 NFL Mock Draft, but he’s playing a professional defense for the first time in his football career. Meanwhile, the defensive line bulldozed right through Notre Dame’s offensive line, but Alabama’s superb blocking should keep Clelin Ferrell and company out of the backfield.

I’m going two units on Alabama. The Tide seem to have the matchup edge, as well as the spread edge; the computer model I subscribe to says the line should be Alabama -9.

FINAL THOUGHTS: There’s some sharp money on Clemson. I still like Alabama though. I wouldn’t go big on this because I fear a back-door cover – plus, betting on kids doesn’t seem like a great idea – but Alabama has the matchup and spread edges. The best line is Alabama -5.5 -105 at 5Dimes.
