Texas A&M at Mississippi State.
Line: Texas A&M by 14.

Saturday, 12:00 p.m.

As a disclaimer, don’t go nuts with my college football picks. I’m much better at picking NFL games (which is saying a lot). Follow @walterfootball for updates.

The amount of hype Texas A&M is receiving is kind of crazy. The Aggies are a very good team, don’t get me wrong, but to rank them ahead of Washington and Louisville seems kind of insane. As a result, the public is pounding them as two-touchdown favorites at Mississippi State (+14 at Bovada). There’s a ton of value with the Bulldogs, who are a solid team. They beat South Carolina and nearly knocked off LSU earlier this season, so I don’t see why they couldn’t be competitive against Texas A&M.

College Football Pick: Mississippi State +14 (3 Units) — Correct; +$300

Louisville at Boston College.
Line: Louisville by 24.5.

Saturday, 12:00 p.m.

Louisville has found itself behind both Texas A&M and Ohio State in the college football playoff rankings, so I have to imagine that they’ll believe that they have to go all out going forward. I think they’ll crush Boston College as a result. The Eagles couldn’t be competitive against Clemson, so I don’t see why they’d stay within the number against Louisville.

College Football Pick: Louisville -24.5 (2 Units) — Correct; +$200

Vanderbilt at Auburn.
Line: Auburn by 26.

Saturday, 12:00 p.m.

Auburn has surged up the polls with some double-digit victories recently, but all of the teams they’ve beaten are just meh. Vanderbilt is kind of meh too, but they’ve at least been competitive with Florida, South Carolina and Georgia. This spread is too high, and I like the value we’re getting with Vanderbilt.

College Football Pick: Vanderbilt +26 (2 Units) — Correct; +$200

Syracuse at Clemson.
Line: Clemson by 26.

Saturday, 3:30 p.m.

I’ve gone against Clemson almost every week this season, and it has worked out more often than not. There’s a reason the Tigers have a sub-.500 record against the spread, and that’s because they’re overrated. They struggle to put teams away, and they may have trouble doing so here, especially coming off such a huge victory. The Orange Men have been much more competitive lately, defeating Virginia Tech and Boston College in consecutive games. They should be able to stay within four touchdows.

College Football Pick: Syracuse +26 (2 Units) — Incorrect; -$220

Iowa at Penn State.
Line: Penn State by 7.5.

Saturday, 7:30 p.m.

What would this line have been prior to Penn State’s victory over Ohio State? Nittany Lions by three, maybe? This spread has been incredibly inflated. Penn State’s victory over the Buckeyes was a nice one, but they needed special teams to get it done, and you can’t always count on that. Besides, Ohio State nearly lost to Northwestern last week, so they were always a bit overrated. Iowa nearly knocked off Wisconsin in its previous game, so it should be able to keep this contest close. It wouldn’t even surprise me if the Hawkeyes won outright.

Follow me @walterfootball to see if anything changes.

College Football Pick: Iowa +7.5 (3 Units) — Incorrect; -$330
