Tulsa at Oklahoma State.
Line: Oklahoma State by 19.5.

Thursday, 7:30 p.m.

Oklahoma State is expected to compete for the Big XII title with Heisman hopeful Mason Rudolph. How can it possibly lose to Tulsa!? Well, if the Cowboys overlook their opponent, they could lose outright. Tulsa is a very solid team that can play good defense and run the ball effectively. Oklahoma State’s offense is dynamic for sure, but its defense is trash. This should be a close game.

Final Thoughts: I figured I’d do final thoughts for my college picks this year, because, why not? There’s a ton of public money on Oklahoma State, pushing this spread up to 19.5, with the juice at -105 at Bovada. There has been a tiny bit of sharp money on Tulsa, but it’s nothing compared to the action coming in on the Cowboys. I still think this spread is too high, as Oklahoma State’s awful defense will allow plenty of opponents to hang around this season.

College Football Pick: Tulsa +19.5 -105 (3 Units) — Incorrect; -$315

Washington at Rutgers.
Line: Washington by 27.5.

Friday, 8:00 p.m.

Washington was overrated all last year and shouldn’t have made the college football playoff. Let’s pick up where we left off last year by fading the Huskies once again. Rutgers isn’t a good team, but I expect it to be improved this year with graduate transfer quarterback Kyle Bolin now on the roster. The Knights will at least be competitive, and should stay within the number as a result.

Final Thoughts: There’s been a lot of sharp action on Rutgers, as this spread has dropped from +31 to +27/+27.5. There’s a +28.5 -115 available at Bovada, but I’m not going to buy the extra point with this insanely high point spread.

Utah State at Wisconsin.
Line: Wisconsin by 28.5.

Friday, 9:00 p.m.

Wisconsin has lost two starting linebackers, yet there has hardly been any line movement as a result. The spread has moved just half of a point toward Utah State’s direction despite most of the bets comng in on the Badgers. Utah State isn’t a bad team, so I like it to stay within four touchdowns.

College Football Pick: Utah State +28.5 (3 Units) — Incorrect; -$330

Maryland at Texas.
Line: Texas by 18.5.

Saturday, 12:00 p.m.

Let’s fade perennially overrated Texas. The Longhorns are getting a ton of hype with new head coach Tom Herman in town, but there’s typically money to be made by fading hype. Maryland has a strong offensive line and will be able to run the ball effectively as a result. This should be a close game.

College Football Pick: Maryland +18.5 (3 Units) — Correct; +$300

Western Michigan at USC.
Line: USC by 27.5.

Saturday, 5:15 p.m.

I made a habit of betting on USC late last year, as I thought they were one of the top teams in the nation and deserved to be in the college football playoff. USC is still great, but I wonder if they’ve been reading their press clippings a bit too much heading into this season. Despite being favorites of nearly four touchdowns, they have a tough battle against a solid Western Michigan team that could be in the top 25 by the end of the season.
