  1. Arizona Cardinals: Max Scharping, G/OT, Northern Illinois
The Cardinals must continue to bolster their offensive line. Kyler Murray can’t suffer the same fate as Josh Rosen.

Pick change; previously David Long, CB

  2. San Francisco 49ers: Jimmy Moreland, CB, James Madison
The 49ers need to continue to bolster their secondary, which is still the weakest part of the roster. I expect San Francisco to draft multiple corners.

Jimmy Moreland is a gritty, instinctive slot cornerback.

  3. New York Jets: Terry McLaurin, WR, Ohio State
The Jets need to give Sam Darnold at least one more downfield weapon to help his development.

Terry McLaurin had a terrific Senior Bowl and combine, and may have moved into fourth-, or even third-round consideration.

  4. Oakland Raiders: Ben Banogu, DE/OLB, TCU
The Raiders somehow haven’t addressed their edge rush yet, which seems like a colossal mistake.

Ben Banogu is quick off the edge, but needs to improve his technique. Banogu, a captain at TCU, has high character traits, so he could be chosen earlier than most expect.

  5. Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Hjalte Froholdt, G, Arkansas
The Buccaneers must find an upgrade on the offensive line to give Jameis Winston the best possible chance to succeed.

  6. New York Giants: Oshane Ximines, DE/OLB, Old Dominion
The Giants get another edge rusher, which must make Dave Gettleman extremely happy.

Oshane Ximines was a very productive edge rusher for Old Dominion.

  7. Jacksonville Jaguars: Austin Bryant, DE, Clemson
Outside of tackles, the Jaguars have worked out and/or visited with edge rushers more than any other position.

  8. Cincinnati Bengals: David Long, CB, Michigan
The Bengals need to strengthen their secondary. They could go with a cornerback as early as the second round.

David Long was one of the top performers in the drills at the combine. He also tested very well.

Pick change; previously Jalen Hurd, WR

  9. Detroit Lions: Cameron Smith, LB, USC
The Lions will have to spend a Round 2-4 pick on a linebacker if they don’t take Devin White No. 8 overall.

Cameron Smith was productive at USC, but there are concerns that he’ll have trouble in coverage in the NFL.

  10. Buffalo Bills: Justice Hill, RB, Oklahoma State
LeSean McCoy won’t be on Buffalo’s roster for very much longer. In fact, there’s a good chance 2019 will be his final year with the Bills.

Scouts like Justice Hill’s speed and acceleration to the second level.

  11. Baltimore Ravens: Joe Jackson, DE, Miami
The Ravens lost both Terrell Suggs and Za’Darius Smith to free agency, so they must address their edge rush in the first half of the 2019 NFL Draft.

  12. Green Bay Packers: Justin Hollins, LB, Oregon
The Packers added a couple of talented edge rushers in free agency, but they could still stand to acquire one more to make sure their defense is vastly improved.

  13. Carolina Panthers: Lonnie Johnson, CB, Kentucky
I could see the Panthers doubling up on cornerbacks in the first few rounds of the draft, given how poor they happen to be at the position.

Lonnie Johnson has great size (6-2, 210) and terrific arm length (32 1/4 inches).

  14. Miami Dolphins: David Long, LB, West Virginia
The Dolphins spent lots of time working out and visiting with linebackers during the pre-draft process, so it makes sense for them to use a mid-round pick on one.

David Long is a tough player with a great motor. He may not be very athletic, but he’ll be a solid player on a team. At the very least, he’ll be a quality special-teamer.

  15. Atlanta Falcons: Nate Davis, OT/G, Charlotte
The Falcons will need to add at least two offensive line upgrades in this draft, as their blocking took a hit last year.

  16. Green Bay Packers: Will Grier, QB, West Virginia
The Packers don’t have a potential successor for Aaron Rodgers, so perhaps they’ll target one here, given that the injury-prone Rodgers is now 35.

  17. Cleveland Browns: Drue Tranquill, LB, Notre Dame
Aside from cornerback, Cleveland’s greatest weakness looks to be the linebacking corps.

  18. Minnesota Vikings: Trey Pipkins, OT, Sioux Falls
Here’s yet another offensive lineman for the Vikings, who absolutely need to make sure that they protect their overpaid quarterback as well as possible.

Trey Pipkins was outstanding at the East-West Shrine Game. Competition level is an issue for him, but the Shrine performance quells that. He has plus length and strength to be a tackle in the NFL.

  19. Tennessee Titans: Kaden Smith, TE, Stanford
Delanie Walker’s 2019 status is up in the air, so the Titans could select a new tight end in the first few rounds.

  20. Pittsburgh Steelers: Jordan Brailford, DE/OLB, Oklahoma State
Bud Dupree is entering his contract year, so here’s a potential replacement for 2020 and beyond.

  21. Baltimore Ravens: Blake Cashman, LB, Minnesota
The Ravens lost C.J. Mosley in free agency, so I imagine they’ll want to use an early pick on a linebacker.

Blake Cashman was highly productive at Minnesota, but had athleticism concerns heading into the combine. He answered those with a dominant performance in Indianapolis.

  22. Seattle Seahawks: Greg Gaines, DT, Washington
Here’s more defensive line help for the Seahawks, who are expected to use multiple picks on the front.

  23. Denver Broncos: Michael Deiter, G/C, Wisconsin
The Broncos needed an interior offensive lineman before losing Matt Paradis, so here’s another inside blocker.

Michael Deiter has started at center and guard for Wisconsin, so teams will like his versatility.

  24. Chicago Bears: Darius Slayton, WR, Auburn
The Bears have spent lots of time investigating wide receivers in the pre-draft process, so I expect them to use a Round 4-6 pick on one.

Darius Slayton was an inconsistent at Auburn. He needed another year in school to refine his game.

  25. Philadelphia Eagles: Connor McGovern, G/C, Penn State
As mentioned earlier, I expect the Eagles to address their interior offensive line early on the third day of the draft.

  26. Dallas Cowboys: Michael Jackson, CB, Miami
The Cowboys need to spend multiple selections on their secondary, as they have to bolster their cornerback and safety groups.

  27. Indianapolis Colts: Amani Oruwariye, CB, Penn State
The Colts have such a big need for a cornerback that they could draft multiple players at the position.

Amani Oruwariye is a big cornerback (6-1, 203) who possesses some quickness. Long speed is a question mark.

  28. Los Angeles Chargers: Clayton Thorson, QB, Northwestern
The Chargers will have to think about using a pick in the first four rounds on a quarterback to eventually supplant Philip Rivers.

Clayton Thorson is an underrated prospect because of his dreadful supporting cast. He has plus mechanics, and he can make any pass, fitting throws into tight windows. He has a nice arm, and he’s also smart and athletic.

  29. Buffalo Bills: Isaiah Buggs, DE/DT, Alabama
The Bills could replace Kyle Williams as early as No. 9 overall. In this mock draft, they’re waiting until the fourth round to do so.

  30. New York Giants: Jalen Hurd, WR, Baylor
It would be surprising if the Giants didn’t escape the first two days of the draft without a new receiver to replace Odell Beckham Jr.

Pick change; previously Riley Ridley, WR

  31. Los Angeles Rams: Rodney Anderson, RB, Oklahoma
The Rams will need a viable backup behind Todd Gurley if C.J. Anderson leaves, especially in the wake of the news about Gurley’s knees.

  32. New England Patriots: Jordan Brown, CB, South Dakota State
The Patriots need to obtain a young cornerback, as Jason McCourty could opt to retire soon.

  33. Indianapolis Colts: Ryquell Armstead, RB, Temple
Marlon Mack played very well to close out the year, but the Colts could still consider using a mid-round pick on a running back.

Ryquell Armstead had some positive feedback from talent evaluators in Indianapolis, as he had an impressive week. Armstead ran an excellent 40 (4.45), especially when considering his size (5-11, 220). He also posted a 7.02 3-cone, which was a very good time.

  34. Dallas Cowboys: Mike Weber, RB, Ohio State
The Cowboys could do better than Rod Smith as far as a backup for Ezekiel Elliott, which might explain why they’ve been so focused on running backs during the pre-draft process.

  35. Atlanta Falcons: Mecole Hardman, WR/KR, Georgia
The Falcons need to develop a third receiver and improve their return game. This pick should help both areas.

Outside of scoring touchdowns, which can be fluky, Mecole Hardman wasn’t very productive in 2018 with just 30 catches in regular-season play. That said, Hardman has blazing speed and can double as a kick returner. He’s someone who should’ve definitely returned to school, as he’s not a finished product as a receiver.

  36. Philadelphia Eagles: Dontavius Russell, DT, Auburn
The Eagles could easily choose someone like Dexter Lawrence or Jerry Tillery in Round 1. If they don’t, this is a very real possibility.
