  1. Cleveland Browns: Michael Thomas, WR, Ohio State
The Browns have to use an early-round pick on a receiver eventually, right? They can’t keep going with retreads.

    Follow @walterfootball for updates.

  2. San Diego Chargers: Jonathan Allen, DE/DT, Alabama
The Chargers re-signed Corey Liuget to a $30 million contract this past offseason, so I don’t know how much money they want to invest in their defensive line. This is significant, as Kendall Reyes happens to be a free agent at the end of this year. San Diego may want to obtain someone more consistent up front anyway, as Reyes is having a terrible season.

Pick change; previously Chris Jones, DE/DT

  3. Tennessee Titans: Corey Coleman, WR, Baylor
The Titans need to build around Marcus Mariota by finding another play-maker for him. Justin Hunter has been a huge disappointment, while Kendall Wright will be a free agent after the 2016 season.

  4. Detroit Lions: Andrew Billings, DT, Baylor
The Lions never properly replaced Ndamukong Suh and the other defensive tackles they lost this past season, so they’ll have to put forth effort into doing so next spring.

  5. Dallas Cowboys: Alex Collins, RB, Arkansas
Darren McFadden has looked good recently, but the Cowboys can’t really count on him for the long term. Here’s their running back of the future.

  6. Baltimore Ravens: Josh Doctson, WR, TCU
Steve Smith announced that this will be his final season, so the Ravens will need a new starting receiver to go along with Breshad Perriman. Smith may decide to try to return from his torn Achilles, but either way, Baltimore can’t count on him being there in 2016.

  7. San Francisco 49ers: Hunter Henry, TE, Arkansas
The 49ers just dealt Vernon Davis, so they’ll be looking to replace him at some point during the offseason. They’ll need to find better weapons for their new quarterback.

  8. Jacksonville Jaguars: Jason Spriggs, OT, Indiana
The Jaguars desperately need help on the offensive line. They have to upgrade Luke Joeckel, who has been terrible. They could even pull the trigger in Round 1.

Pick change; previously Jack Allen, C

  9. New Orleans Saints: Sebastian Tretola, G, Arkansas
If the Saints draft a new quarterback, they’ll have to upgrade the offensive line for sure, as chances are that this new signal-caller won’t be able to release the ball as quickly as Drew Brees. The guard position needs to be overhauled.

Pick change; previously William Jackson, CB

  10. Miami Dolphins: Derrick Henry, RB, Alabama
Lamar Miller is an impending free agent, so he may want to move on elsewhere because the Dolphins are a mess. If he leaves, an early-round running back is in play.

Pick change; previously Kendall Fuller, CB

  11. Kansas City Chiefs: Jacoby Brissett, QB, N.C. State
The next seven games will be crucial for Alex Smith (and also the fans) in Kansas City. Smith can save his job by playing well down the stretch and taking the team on a run into the playoffs. The fans, as a result, will be miserable because they’ll have to watch more of Smith’s dinks and dunks going forward. However, if Smith continues to struggle, the stubborn Andy Reid may be forced to abandon him. If so, a quarterback is in play at this juncture.

Pick change; previously Germain Ifedi, OT

  12. St. Louis Rams: Tyler Boyd, WR, Pittsburgh
Back-to-back wideouts are in play, as the Rams may want to overhaul their entire receiving corps, save for Tavon Austin. Tyler Boyd has some off-the-field concerns, but St. Louis won’t care about those.

Pick change; previously Vonn Bell, S

  13. Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Kendall Fuller, CB, Virginia Tech
The Buccaneers might have the weakest group of cornerbacks in the NFL. Alterraun Verner has been an abomination this season, while Johnthan Banks has only been marginally better, but only by default. This is an area that absolutely must be addressed this offseason.

Pick change; previously Derrick Henry, RB

  14. Chicago Bears: Chris Jones, DE/DT, Mississippi State
The Bears’ defensive line is comprised of mediocre players, at best, so this is an area John Fox could target early in the 2016 NFL Draft.

Pick change; previously Carl Nassib, DE/OLB

  15. Washington Redskins: William Jackson, CB, Houston
It goes without saying that the Redskins need to upgrade their sloppy secondary. The top cornerback or safety available would work.

Pick change; previously Jacoby Brissett, QB

  16. St. Louis Rams: Maliek Collins, DT, Nebraska
The Rams signed Nick Fairley this past offseason, but Fairley will be a free agent again in March. If the front office doesn’t retain him, a second-day choice could be used on depth.

  17. Houston Texans: Christian Hackenberg, QB, Penn State
Half a season shouldn’t drop a prospect a whole round, but my premise behind slotting Christian Hackenberg in the top five was that he would go that high if he put together a strong 2015 campaign. It doesn’t look like that’s going to happen now, so it’s realistic could drop to the second day. If so, I’m sure the Texans would take a chance on him, given that Bill O’Brien got the most out of him when he was at Penn State.

  18. Seattle Seahawks: Shawn Oakman, DE/DT, Baylor
No one should’ve been surprised that Shawn Oakman returned to school, given that he was widely viewed as a second-day project. In fact, one general manager has him as a fifth- to seventh-rounder. Oakman has loads of potential and athleticism, however, so if he can actually learn how to play football, he could sneak into the first round.

  19. Oakland Raiders: Carl Nassib, DE/OLB, Penn State
The Raiders are getting decent play out of Aldon Smith, but trusting him for the long term is probably not a good idea, so here’s some insurance.

Pick change; previously Darian Thompson, S

  20. New York Jets: Jerald Hawkins, OT, LSU
A future replacement for D’Brickashaw Ferguson… or perhaps a current one. Ferguson isn’t playing as well as he has in the past, and he’ll be owed close to $9 million in 2016. If he doesn’t restructure, he could end up being a cap casualty.

Pick change; previously Jordan Jenkins, DE/OLB

  21. Indianapolis Colts: Jarran Reed, NT, Alabama
When running a 3-4, it’s never good to have a hole at nose tackle, but that’s exactly what the Colts possess. They’ve been using rookie David Parry, who hasn’t played very well. An upgrade could make a big difference.

Pick change; previously Darron Lee, DE/OLB

  22. New York Giants: Jonathan Bullard, DE, Florida
Jerry Reese is never opposed to drafting pass-rushers, and he may do that early this spring, just because Jason Pierre-Paul is such a huge question mark going forward.

  23. Buffalo Bills: Austin Johnson, DT, Penn State
I mentioned Mario Williams as someone who hasn’t played up to his potential. The same can be said for Kyle Williams, who turns 33 this offseason. Considering that he’s due $7 million in 2016, the Bills could part ways with him.

Pick change; previously Sheldon Day, DT

  24. Atlanta Falcons: Kendell Beckwith, LB, LSU
I don’t trust these Atlanta linebackers, outside of Brooks Reed, so the Falcons could opt to strengthen this group during the offseason.

  25. Pittsburgh Steelers: Kentrell Brothers, LB, Missouri
Lawrence Timmons has enjoyed a great career in Pittsburgh, but it appears as though it’s coming to an end. Timmons, 30 next spring, has regressed recently and has actually been awful this year. He has a $15 million cap hit next year, so there’s no way he’ll be back at that price. He may not be back at all.

Pick change; previously Eddie Jackson, CB

  26. Green Bay Packers: Tyler Matakevich, ILB, Temple
Clay Matthews has performed well at inside linebacker over the past year, but he would be so much better on the edge. The problem is that Green Bay doesn’t have another inside linebacker. Here’s a possible solution.

  27. Denver Broncos: O.J. Howard, TE, Alabama
Owen Daniels has been a failure thus far – save for his inexplicable performance at Indianapolis – prompting John Elway to trade for Vernon Davis. The problem is, Davis hasn’t played well for two years now. The Broncos could use a better tight end to properly replace Julius Thomas.

  28. Arizona Cardinals: Jack Allen, C, Michigan State
The Cardinals haven’t been able to find a center they’ve been comfortable with for a while, so they could use an early draft pick to finally address this position.

Pick change; previously Dan Voltz, C

  29. Minnesota Vikings: Cody Whitehair, G, Kansas State
T.J. Clemmings might be Minnesota’s left tackle of the future, but the front office will have to look for a long-term left guard as well.

Pick change; previously Sebastian Tretola, G

  30. Cincinnati Bengals: Cameron Sutton, CB, Tennessee
Pacman Jones is playing out of his mind right now – both literally and figuratively – but he’ll be a free agent following this season. Leon Hall will also be hitting the market in March. With so many expiring contracts at cornerback, the Bengals will have to address that position.

  31. Carolina Panthers: Sheldon Day, DT, Notre Dame
The Panthers could use some interior defensive line depth, especially with some contracts expiring soon.

Pick change; previously William Fuller, WR

  32. New England Patriots: Darron Lee, DE/OLB, Ohio State
The Patriots rush the passer well right now, but two of their top three edge defenders, Jabaal Sheard and Rob Ninkovich, will be free agents in March 2017. Here’s a pass-rusher who could start in his second season if both players move on.

Pick change; previously Desmond King, CB
