Something I missed is that Sean Payton's preseason record has been great recently. He's 7-0 in the past three years. Yet, he's 37-33 overall. So, what changed? Well, Payton never really cared about winning Week 4 preseason games when they were a thing. He was 2-12 in those games, likely because he didn't want to exert himself with just a bit of time left until Week 1. If you take away that 2-12 record, his preseason record is so much better. Denver is worth betting in this game.

We don't have much data on Miami's head coach, but the Dolphins lost last weekend to the Redskins, who have a poor preseason record under Dan Quinn. So, that might be an indication that the Dolphins won't want to win in the preseason. John Harbaugh disappointed us last week because we had our biggest play on the Giants, but I trust him enough to get his team to win this week.

Sean McVay is only 12-16 in the preseason, but he's 5-1 in the preseason over the past three years. I think he's going to want to continue to put Ty Simpson in a good situation. So, I like the Rams here over the Saints. Kellen Moore has yet to win a preseason game (0-3), and I don't see why he would suddenly want to win one now.
