  1. Cleveland Browns: Raekwon Davis, DE/DT, Alabama
The Browns have a strong defensive line, but they could use an interior player who can generate a heavy pass rush and help stop the run. This would take their defensive front over the top.

Raekwon Davis had a dominant performance in the national championship to cap off his excellent 2017 season in which he logged 8.5 sacks.

  2. Minnesota Vikings: Jonah Williams, OT, Alabama
The Vikings overpaid for Kirk Cousins, so now they have to transition from a defensive team to an offensive one. An improved offensive line will allow Cousins to survive until Week 17, when he can once again choke with a playoff bid on the line.

Jonah Williams had a great freshman year as Alabama’s right tackle. He’s now manning the blind side with Cam Robinson gone. Charlie Campbell spoke to sources who believe Williams will be taken in the second half of the opening round.

Pick change; previously Mack Wilson, LB

  3. Tennessee Titans: Cody Ford, G, Oklahoma
Marcus Mariota was sacked 11 times in a game this year. There have been other contests where he’s been under pressure very frequently, including the loss at Houston on Monday night. The interior blocking must be improved.

Cody Ford is a 335-pound right tackle at Oklahoma who should move to guard at the next level. He has very good athleticism for his massive frame.

Pick change; previously Deionte Thompson, S

  4. Pittsburgh Steelers: Jachai Polite, DE/OLB, Florida
Bud Dupree hasn’t lived up to his first-round billing, so he could be close to being done in Pittsburgh. If the Steelers agree, they could target a dynamic edge rusher early in the 2019 NFL Draft.

Jachai Polite has a ton of upside. He didn’t do much in 2016, but he has a couple of sacks through half the season. He’s been having a strong 2018 campaign, including the LSU victory where he drew lots of double teams.

  5. Philadelphia Eagles: Greedy Williams, CB, LSU
If you’ve watched a single game of the Eagles this year, you know they need cornerback help. They’ve been torched by every single quarterback they’ve played, as their secondary has been an abomination sorely in need of help.

Greedy Williams had a spectacular freshman season with six interceptions. Williams has great size (6-2, 182) and quickness, and he has top-10 upside.

Pick change; previously Cody Ford, G

  6. Indianapolis Colts: Clelin Ferrell, DE, Clemson
The Colts, once again, should target the best player on their board. This time, they can focus on their defensive front, which I believe they would have done had Bradley Chubb been available.

Clelin Ferrell has elite athleticism, and he could’ve been a top-15, or even a top-10 pick in the 2018 NFL Draft had he declared (perhaps No. 6 overall to the Colts.) Charlie Campbell has reported in the NFL Hot Press that teams aren’t as high on Ferrell this year, but he should still be taken in the 15-25 range.

  7. Seattle Seahawks: Irv Smith Jr., TE, Alabama
The Seahawks could stand to give Russell Wilson a viable intermediate target, as Jimmy Graham has been missed.

Irv Smith Jr. is a dangerous threat after the catch, and he has good route-running skills and nice hands.

Pick change; previously Christian Wilkins, DT

  8. Baltimore Ravens: Trevon Diggs, CB, Alabama
The Ravens have a great group of cornerbacks, but Jimmy Smith and Brandon Carr will turn 31 and 33 this offseason, respectively. Also, Smith, who is not having a good year, will be entering his contract season while being owed close to $10 million.

Trevon Diggs, younger brother of Vikings receiver Stefon Diggs, began as a receiver at Alabama, but was tremendous this season at cornerback before suffering a foot injury.

  9. Oakland Raiders: Montez Sweat, DE/OLB, Mississippi State
The Raiders get their replacement for Khalil Mack, as they’ve been able to bolster their defensive line with their first two selections.

Montez Sweat registered 10.5 sacks in his first season, and he has major potential. He has a big frame and could stand to pack on 20 pounds of muscle, so the potential is there.

  10. Houston Texans: Greg Little, OT, Ole Miss
The Texans would be crazy if they passed on an opportunity to upgrade their atrocious offensive line. They’ve gotten Deshaun Watson so banged up that he can fly on airplanes.

Greg “Mr. Reliable” Little was a five-star recruit coming out of high school. He’s an athletic left tackle who could become a top-15 pick.

  11. Oakland Raiders: Damien Harris, RB, Alabama
The Raiders used their first two selections on defense. It’s time to turn toward the offense now and fix that mess. Jon Gruden loves to run the ball, and he has spent some early picks on running backs, so there’s a good chance one of his first-rounders is used on the position.

Damien Harris is a well-rounded running back. One source Charlie Campbell spoke to said Harris reminds him of Doug Martin.

  12. Los Angeles Chargers: Dre’Mont Jones, DT, Ohio State
The Chargers looked soft up the middle against the Rams, as they struggled to stop Todd Gurley and apply pressure on Jared Goff. They’ve needed help at defensive tackle for some time.

Dre’Mont Jones has a first-round skill set, according to sources Charlie Campbell reached out to.

  13. New England Patriots: Noah Fant, TE, Iowa
The Patriots tried to trade Rob Gronkowski last offseason, and now we see why. Gronkowski is a shell of his former self, so here’s a replacement.

Noah Fant is an athletic marvel, notching a 41-inch vertical in spring testing. He needs to improve his blocking, but his receiving ability should allow him to be a first- or second-round pick.

Pick change; previously Albert Okwuegbunan, TE

  14. Los Angeles Rams: Zach Allen, DE/DT, Boston College
Ndamukong Suh has played well this year, but not nearly on the level of a $20 million-per-year player. I wonder if the Rams would consider saving money and moving on from Suh if they can get one of the many talented defensive linemen in the 2019 NFL Draft. Or, perhaps the Rams will decide that 2019 will be Suh’s final year, so they’ll take a defensive lineman, mirroring what the Jaguars did when they selected Taven Bryan late in the first round in the 2018 NFL Draft.

Zach Allen needs to develop more pass-rushing moves, but he has a nice combination of size and strength, and he happens to be a stout run defender and a quality pass-rusher.

  15. Kansas City Chiefs: Dexter Lawrence, DT, Clemson
The Chiefs need secondary and linebacker help, but they’re getting the best player available with this selection. Andy Reid loves to take second chances on players, so I think this makes sense.

Dexter Lawrence is a monster of a defensive tackle (6-5, 340) and is exceptional at both stuffing the run and pressuring the quarterback. He has fallen in this mock draft because of his positive drug test.

  16. Green Bay Packers: Parris Campbell, WR, Ohio State
The Packers need defense, but they already spent their initial first-round pick on that side of the ball. Aaron Rodgers also needs more reliable play-makers, as the offense hasn’t been the same this year, thanks in part to Jordy Nelson’s departure.

Parris Campbell has big-play ability, but didn’t live up to it statistically in the past because of some poor passing. That has changed recently, as Campbell dominated Michigan in the regular-season finale. There’s a decent chance he’s the first receiver drafted.
