*** This mock draft will be updated occasionally. Follow @walterfootball for NFL Draft updates. ***

  1. Chicago Bears: Kelee Ringo, CB, Georgia Georgia
Pick a position outside of quarterback, and the Bears have a need at that spot. Their cornerbacks are horrible outside of Jaylon Johnson.

A huge cornerback with lots of upside, Kelee Ringo performed well in place of Tyson Campbell. He should drum up some interest on Day 2.

  2. Houston Texans: Mike Morris, DE, Michigan Michigan
The Texans have a very weak pass rush that must be addressed.

Mike Morris made big improvements as a pass-rusher during his final year.

  3. Arizona Cardinals: Emmanuel Forbes, CB, Mississippi State Mississippi State
Arizona’s dreadful secondary must be addressed at some point in the first three rounds.

Emmanuel Forbes is a feast-or-famine cornerback.

Pick change; previously Luke Wypler, C

  4. Denver Broncos: Zacch Pickens, DT, South Carolina
The Broncos could stand to add to their defensive line so they improve against the run.

Zacch Pickens had a great ’21 campaign. He has plus size, quickness and athleticism.

  5. Denver Broncos: Hendon Hooker, QB, Tennessee
Russell Wilson has been a disaster thus far. The Broncos will give him another chance next year because they don’t really have a choice, but they’ll need to find a young replacement in case Wilson is awful once again in 2023.

Hendon Hooker is a dual-threat quarterback enjoyed a great season for Tennessee. The top downside prior to his torn ACl was that he’ll turn 25 prior to the draft. The ACL is a concern for the short term, but not for the team drafting him in this situation.

  6. Los Angeles Rams: Zach Charbonnet, RB, UCLA UCLA
The Rams seem generally unhappy with all of their running backs, though Cam Akers finally showed signs of life on Christmas and onward.

Zach Charbonnet is a quality receiver out of the backfield who runs with a nice burst.

  7. Las Vegas Raiders: Wanya Morris, OT, Oklahoma Oklahoma
The Raiders could stand to add one more offensive line upgrade to make sure Jimmy Garoppolo is protected as well as possible.

Wanya Morris needs to get stronger, but he’s an athletic blocker.

Pick change; previously Emmanuel Forbes, CB

  8. New Orleans Saints: Daiyan Henley, LB, Washington State Washington State
The Saints wanted Quay Walker during the 2022 NFL Draft, so perhaps they’ll target a linebacker with one of their first three picks. Daiyan Henley has great sideline-to-sideline speed.

Pick change; previously Derick Hall, DE

  9. Tennessee Titans: Xavier Hutchinson, WR, Iowa State Iowa State
The Titans need another receiver to pair with Treylon Burks.

Xavier Hutchinson is a quality route-runner with solid hands.

  10. Houston Texans: Noah Sewell, LB, Oregon Oregon
Like everything else on Houston’s defense, the linebacking corps sucks, so some talent needs to be injected into it.

Noah Sewell is a big linebacker, but covers well for one. See where he ranks in our 2023 NFL Draft Prospect Rankings.

  11. Cleveland Browns: Brandon Joseph, S, Notre Dame Notre Dame
The Browns signed Juan Thornhill, but they could still use help at safety.

Brandon Joseph is a turnover machine with great instincts.

  12. Atlanta Falcons: Trenton Simpson, LB, Clemson Clemson
The Falcons had one of the worst linebacking corps in the NFL last year.

Trenton Simpson is a quick and ahtletic linebacker.

  13. New England Patriots: Nick Broeker, OT/G, Ole Miss
The Patriots have some major offensive line issues that must be addressed, so they could double up in this area.

Nick Broeker may have to switch to guard in the NFL.

  14. Los Angeles Rams: Cody Mauch, G, North Dakota State North Dakota State
The Rams can continue to bolster their incredibly weak offensive line.

Team sources told Charlie Campbell that Cody Mauch could be this year’s version of Cole Strange.

  15. Green Bay Packers: Tucker Kraft, TE, South Dakota State South Dakota State
The Packers could stand to add another weapon – one who offers an upgrade over Robert Tonyan.

Tucker Kraft is raw, but possesses quality upside.

  16. Indianapolis Colts: Josh Downs, WR, North Carolina
Parris Campbell has not shown the ability to stay healthy, so the Colts could stand to add another receiver.

Josh Downs projects as a speedy slot receiver.

  17. Pittsburgh Steelers: Daniel Scott, S, California California
The Steelers may lose Terrell Edmunds in the offseason. If so, here’s a replacement.
Daniel Scott has good size for the NFL.

  18. Detroit Lions: Stetson Bennett, QB, Georgia Georgia
The Lions may want a quarterback to groom behind Jared Goff.

Stetson Bennett was very clutch in big games for Georgia. He’ll look to become the next Brock Purdy or Colt McCoy.

  19. Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Adetomiwa Adebawore, DE/DT, Northwestern Northwestern
The Buccaneers tried Akiem Hicks as a replacement for Ndamukong Suh, but it didn’t work. Here’s a long-term possibility.

Adetomiwa Adebawore has some solid ability, but is a tweener. He posted Mario Williams- and J.J. Watt-type numbers at the combine.

  20. Seattle Seahawks: Jaylon Jones, CB, Texas A&M Texas A&M
The Seahawks could stand to add another mid-round talented cornerback to their secondary.

Jaylon Jones is an instinctive cornerback with good speed and athleticism.

  21. Miami Dolphins: Gervon Dexter, DT, Florida Florida
The Dolphins aren’t very strong on the defensive line, so they could stand to add some talent to it.

Gervon Dexter is a lengthy defensive lineman with plus quickness and strength.

  22. Los Angeles Chargers: Mekhi Garner, CB, LSU LSU
The Chargers weren’t able to stop the pass because of some shoddy cornerback play this past year. I could see them doubling up on the position.

Mekhi Garner is a tall cornerback with good instincts.

  23. Baltimore Ravens: Julian Brents, CB, Kansas State
The Ravens need to think about getting younger at cornerback.

Julian Brents is a 6-3 cornerback who is a hard tackler.

  24. Minnesota Vikings: Max Duggan, QB, TCU
The Vikings could stand to draft a quarterback to eventually challenge for the starting job.

Max Duggan is a smart and tough quarterback who has a better arm than people give him credit for.

  25. Jacksonville Jaguars: Chris Rodriguez, RB, Kentucky Kentucky
Travis Etienne isn’t used as a receiver out of the backfield for some reason, so here’s a complement for him.

Chris Rodriguez is a power back who gets nice yards after contact.

  26. New York Giants: Jarrett Patterson, C, Notre Dame Notre Dame
The Giants may lose Jon Feliciano this offseason, so they’ll need to re-sign or replace him.

Jarrett Patterson didn’t surrender a sack in his collegiate career.

  27. Dallas Cowboys: Zach Evans, RB, Ole Miss Ole Miss
I imagine the Cowboys will want to replace Ezekiel Elliott with one of their second-day picks.

Zach Evans is undersized, but explosive.

  28. Buffalo Bills: Jaxon Kirkland, G, Washington Washington
The Bills need to bolster Josh Allen’s pass protection, which they can do at some point on Day 2.

Jaxon Kirkland can play right tackle, but seems like a better fit at guard.

  29. Cincinnati Bengals: Sydney Brown, S, Illinois Illinois
The Bengals lost both of their starting safeties this offseason, so they’ll need to find one replacement to go along with Dax Hill.

Sydney Brown was a dynamic play-maker in his senior year.

  30. Carolina Panthers: Deuce Vaughn, RB, Kansas State Kansas State
The Panthers obviously need a running back in the wake of Christian McCaffrey’s departure, so they could find a replacement with this pick.

Deuce Vaughn is an instinctive, elusive and quick runner.

  31. Philadelphia Eagles: Demarvion Overshown, LB, Texas Texas
No one in Philadelphia will ever be upset about the Eagles spending a high resource on a linebacker.

Demarvion Overshown was flying all over the field at times in ’21.

  32. Kansas City Chiefs: Devon Achane, RB, Texas A&M Texas A&M
Jerick McKinnon is an impending free agent, while Clyde Edwards-Helaire has been a big disappointment. The Chiefs need another running back to pair with Isiah Pacheco.

Devon Achane can be a dynamic third-down back in the NFL.

  33. Arizona Cardinals: Felix Anudike-Uzomah, DE/OLB, Kansas State Kansas State
Once again, the Cardinals must improve their pass rush after losing Chandler Jones and J.J. Watt in consecutive offseasons. Multiple pass rushers are needed.

Best fit for the 3-4, Felix Anudike-Uzomah was highly productive in ’21.

  34. Washington Redskins: Emil Ekiyor, G/C, Alabama Texas A&M
The Redskins should consider adding to their offensive line to protect Slingin’ Sammy Howell.

Emil Ekiyor can play guard and center.

  35. Cleveland Browns: Derick Hall, DE, Auburn Auburn
Here’s another player to be added to Cleveland’s defensive line, which needs all the depth it can get after struggling to get to the quarterback in 2022.

Derick Hall was a solid player at Auburn, but doesn’t have high potential for the NFL.

Pick change; previously Ali Gaye, DE

  36. San Francisco 49ers: J.L. Skinner, S/LB, Boise State Boise State
Jimmie Ward left via free agency, so the 49ers will have to find a new safety this offseason.

J.L. Skinner may have to move to linebacker in the NFL.

  37. New York Giants: Amari Burney, LB, Florida Florida
The Giants tend to struggle at linebacker, so they could use a Round 2-4 pick on the position.

Amari Burney has excellent coverage skills.

  38. San Francisco 49ers: Blake Freeland, OT, BYU BYU
The 49ers need a new right tackle to replace free agent Mike McGlinchey and someone to eventually take over for Trent Williams once he retires.

Blake Freeland has potential, but is raw and inconsistent at the moment.

  39. San Francisco 49ers: Kayshon Boutte, WR, LSU LSU
Now with three picks in the third round, the 49ers can afford to take a chance on a player who could upgrade their receiving corps.

Kayshon Boutte had gotten rave reviews for his speed and athleticism. He had a huge game versus Georgia at the end of the year. He initially said that he will be returning to LSU, but he then changed his mind and declared for the 2023 NFL Draft. However, he really struggled at the combine.
