  1. Los Angeles Rams: Sam Darnold, QB, USC
Taking a quarterback is a realistic scenario, despite all that the Rams have surrendered for Jared Goof. If they’re bad enough to be selecting No. 1 overall in the 2018 NFL Draft, they’ll surely be ready to move on to another quarterback.

Sam Darnold has taken the Pac-12 by storm, as he’s been incredible ever since taking over as the starter, which was capped off by his amazing Rose Bowl performance. A big quarterback with a nice arm, terrific accuracy and decent mobility, Darnold could end up being the No. 1 pick in the 2018 NFL Draft.

  2. New York Jets: Josh Rosen, QB, UCLA
The Jets appear to be tanking for the 2018 NFL Draft, as I think we can surmise based on the Josh McCown signing. This is a smart move, as there are projected to be three top-10 signal-callers in this class.

Josh Rosen was once the projected No. 1 overall pick in the 2018 NFL Draft, but he’s been passed by Sam Darnold. It also must be noted that NFL coaches and owners are wary of the sort of things Rosen has discussed to the media. However, he’s young and could improve his thinking.

  3. San Francisco 49ers: Saquon Barkley, RB, Penn State
A quarterback would make sense for the 49ers if they didn’t stand a good chance of obtaining Kirk Cousins. It’s unclear if that’ll be possible this offseason, but it surely will happen by next spring. If so, Cousins will need someone to throw to besides Pierre Garcon. He’ll also need a running back; Carlos Hyde is not a good fit for Kyle Shanahan’s offense, and there was some talk that the 49ers would select Leonard Fournette.

Saquon Barkley ran a 4.33 at the Penn State pro day in March and appears to be a potential top-five prospect for the 2018 NFL Draft.

  4. Chicago Bears: Arden Key, DE/OLB, LSU
An edge rusher isn’t extremely high on Chicago’s list of needs, but I’d have to believe that the Bears would be hard pressed to pass on a super talent like Arden Key. A dynamic edge rusher like Key could really take their defense to the next level and cover up some holes in the secondary.

  5. Jacksonville Jaguars: Josh Allen, QB, Wyoming
Blake Bortles has been an utter failure thus far, and there was speculation that they’d draft a quarterback to replace him. That didn’t happen, but it could next April.

Josh Allen projects as a potential first-round signal-caller. He has a big arm and can scramble pretty well, but he needs to work on his accuracy next year.

  6. Cleveland Browns: Christian Kirk, WR, Texas A&M
The Browns lost Terrelle Pryor, but failed to replace him in the 2017 NFL Draft. They’ll need another dynamic wideout to start across from Corey Coleman.

Christian Kirk would definitely qualify. Kirk is an absolute stud who would be a massive upgrade at receiver.

  7. Cincinnati Bengals: Mike McGlinchey, OT, Notre Dame
The Bengals lost Andrew Whitworth this offseason. They’ll be trying out a couple of unproven tackles this season, so they’ll probably need to address the position early in the 2018 NFL Draft.

Mike McGlinchey would probably have been the top tackle chosen in the 2017 NFL Draft if he had declared (No. 7 overall to the Chargers?), but he announced that he would be returning to school.

  8. Buffalo Bills: Calvin Ridley, WR, Alabama
The Bills appeared to finally find a capable No. 2 receiver to play across from Sammy Watkins when they selected Zay Jones. However, news broke later that evening that Buffalo was not going to exercise Watkins’ fifth-year option, so the team will need a new No. 1 wideout if Watkins leaves via free agency.

  9. Baltimore Ravens: Courtland Sutton, WR, SMU
There was some speculation that the Ravens would’ve picked Mike Williams or Corey Davis had either fallen to No. 16 overall. That didn’t happen, so Baltimore could attempt to address its receiver needs in the 2018 NFL Draft.

Courtland Sutton shocked many by going back to school because had a chance to be a first-round this April.

  10. Minnesota Vikings: Christian Wilkins, DT, Clemson
The Vikings are disappointed with Sharrif Floyd, so if he doesn’t get his act together, he won’t be on the team much longer. Christian Wilkins could be targeted as a replacement for Floyd in the 2018 NFL Draft.

  11. Washington Redskins: Derwin James, S, Florida State
The Redskins don’t have a great safety situation, so they could address the position early during one of the next two NFL Drafts.

Derwin James has missed some time in 2016 with a knee injury, but he’s a monstrous safety (6-3, 211) who happens to be a terrific athlete. He’s still projected to be a top-10 pick.

  12. Indianapolis Colts: Malik Jefferson, LB, Texas
The ultra-talented Malik Jefferson makes a lot of sense for the Colts at No. 12 overall in this 2018 NFL Mock Draft. Indianapolis really struggled to cover running backs and tight ends last season because of poor linebacker play. Jefferson would be able to fix that problem.

  13. Carolina Panthers: Minkah Fitzpatrick, CB, Alabama
The Panthers have to replace Josh Norman at some point. Cornerback isn’t a huge need, but they could use another starter at the position.

  14. Denver Broncos: Mitch Hyatt, OT, Clemson
This is a possibility even though the Broncos landed Garett Bolles. Back-to-back offensive tackles may seem strange if you’re not familiar with the Broncos. Upon further inspection, however, you’ll see that Denver’s tackle situation is extremely dire, as the team doesn’t have a single starting-caliber tackle on the roster.

  15. Cleveland Browns: Tarvarus McFadden, CB, Florida State
The Browns could use some cornerback help if they miss out on the top three quarterbacks. Joe Haden hasn’t been able to stay healthy, so here’s a potential replacement if he continues to be injured.

  16. Arizona Cardinals: Jarrett Stidham, QB, Auburn
There was great speculation that the Cardinals would take a quarterback this past draft. I never bought into that because Arizona doesn’t let information leak out like that. However, the fact remains that the Cardinals need to find a successor for Carson Palmer.

Jarrett Stidham is a fourth potential top-10 quarterback pick in this class. Scouts are excited to watch Stidham, as he possesses great arm strength and accuracy. Depending on how he performs at Auburn, he could be in play at this spot.
