2019 NFL Mock Re-Draft: Round 4

Last update: Saturday, April 27, 2019.
This is a 2019 NFL Mock Re-Draft of Rounds 4 and 5 for Saturday’s NFL Draft coverage. With all of the trades that will go down, I don’t expect to get many of these right, but it’s still fun to speculate where the top prospects will go on Day 3 of the 2019 NFL Draft.

  1. Arizona Cardinals: Dru Samia, G, Oklahoma
The Cardinals must bolster their offensive line. Kyler Murray can’t suffer the same fate as Josh Rosen.

  2. San Francisco 49ers: Jimmy Moreland, CB, James Madison
The 49ers need to find upgrades to their secondary, which is still the weakest part of the roster. I expect San Francisco to draft multiple corners.

Jimmy Moreland is a gritty, instinctive slot cornerback.

  3. New York Jets: Michael Jackson, CB, Miami
The Jets still have a huge hole at cornerback, which they’ll need to address early on Day 3.

  4. Oakland Raiders: Mack Wilson, LB, Alabama
The Raiders still have a big hole in the middle of their defense. They must find an upgrade at linebacker.

  5. Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Hjalte Froholdt, G, Arkansas
The Buccaneers must find an upgrade on the offensive line to give Jameis Winston the best possible chance to succeed.

  6. New York Giants: Vosean Joseph, LB, Florida
The Giants had interest in Devin White at No. 6 overall. Perhaps they’ll find a linebacker early on Day 3.

  7. Oakland Raiders: Austin Bryant, DE, Clemson
Make it three Clemson prospects! The Raiders need to obtain multiple edge rushers.

  8. Cincinnati Bengals: Jarrett Stidham, QB, Auburn
New regimes mean new quarterbacks, so the Bengals’ front office will have to find their own guy.

Pick change; previously Jalen Hurd, WR

  9. Detroit Lions: Maxx Crosby, DE, Eastern Michigan
The Lions signed Trey Flowers in the offseason, but they’ll need to find another edge rusher.

  10. Washington Redskins: Foster Moreau, TE, UCLA
Jordan Reed can’t stay healthy, so the Redskins will have to find another weapon for Dwayne Haskins.

  11. Baltimore Ravens: Deionte Thompson, S, Alabama
The Ravens could go after a young safety despite signing Earl Thomas.

Deionte Thompson has a great blend of size (6-2, 196), speed and athleticism. However, he struggled mightily in the second half of the 2018 season, causing his stock to drop.

  12. Seattle Seahawks: Blessaun Austin, CB, Rutgers
I expect the Seahawks to use a fourth- or fifth-round pick on a cornerback who fits exactly what they look for in players at the position.

  13. Carolina Panthers: Julian Love, CB, Notre Dame
I could see the Panthers doubling up on cornerbacks on Saturday, given how poor they happen to be at the position.

  14. New Orleans Saints: Hakeem Butler, WR, Iowa State
The Saints signed Dez Bryant and Brandon Marshall, hoping to find an upgrade across from Michael Thomas. Here’s a possible solution.

Hakeem Butler has great size at 6-5, 225, and he answered some speed concerns at the combine. His hands are horrible, however. Some in the media believe Butler will be chosen in the first round, but he has gotten third-round grades from some teams.

  15. Atlanta Falcons: Isaiah Buggs, DE/DT, Alabama
The Falcons have improved their offensive line, but they must improve the trenches on the other side of the ball as well.

  16. New England Patriots: David Long, LB, West Virginia
The Patriots have needed linebacker help next to Dont’a Hightower for quite some time.

  17. Cleveland Browns: Drue Tranquill, LB, Notre Dame
Aside from cornerback, Cleveland’s greatest weakness looks to be the linebacking corps.

  18. Minnesota Vikings: Dennis Daley, OT, South Carolina
The Vikings were expected to draft two offensive linemen by now. Here’s their second blocker.

  19. Tennessee Titans: Kaden Smith, TE, Stanford
Delanie Walker’s 2019 status is up in the air, so the Titans could select a new tight end in the first few rounds.

  20. Pittsburgh Steelers: Jordan Brailford, DE/OLB, Oklahoma State
Bud Dupree is entering his contract year, so here’s a potential replacement for 2020 and beyond.

  21. Baltimore Ravens: Blake Cashman, LB, Minnesota
The Ravens lost C.J. Mosley in free agency, so I imagine they’ll want to use an early pick on a linebacker.

Blake Cashman was highly productive at Minnesota, but had athleticism concerns heading into the combine. He answered those with a dominant performance in Indianapolis.

  22. Seattle Seahawks: Greg Gaines, DT, Washington
Here’s more defensive line help for the Seahawks, who are expected to use multiple picks on the front.

  23. Denver Broncos: Renell Wren, DE/DT, Arizona State
The Broncos could stand to address their defensive line, as they have off-the-field and injury concerns in that area.

Renell Wren was a captain at Arizona State. He possesses great potential, as he tested off the charts at the combine.

  24. Chicago Bears: Darius Slayton, WR, Auburn
The Bears have spent lots of time investigating wide receivers in the pre-draft process, so I expect them to use a Round 4-6 pick on one.

Darius Slayton was an inconsistent at Auburn. He needed another year in school to refine his game.

  25. Baltimore Ravens: Ross Pierschbacher, C/G, Alabama
The Ravens must improve their interior blocking, and I’m sure they won’t mind taking on another Alabama prospect.

  26. Dallas Cowboys: Amani Hooker, S/LB/CB, Iowa
The Cowboys need to spend multiple selections on their secondary, as they have to bolster their cornerback and safety groups.

  27. Indianapolis Colts: Amani Oruwariye, CB, Penn State
The Colts have such a big need for a cornerback that they could draft multiple players at the position.

Amani Oruwariye is a big cornerback (6-1, 203) who possesses some quickness. Long speed is a question mark.

  28. Los Angeles Chargers: Clayton Thorson, QB, Northwestern
The Chargers will have to think about using a pick in the first four rounds on a quarterback to eventually supplant Philip Rivers.

Clayton Thorson is an underrated prospect because of his dreadful supporting cast. He has plus mechanics, and he can make any pass, fitting throws into tight windows. He has a nice arm, and he’s also smart and athletic.

  29. Washington Redskins: Isaiah Johnson, CB, Houston
The Redskins have yet to address their secondary, which is something they’ll need to do soon.

  30. Seattle Seahawks: Charles Omenihu, DE/DT, Texas
Here’s another defensive lineman for the Seahawks, who really need to continue to address their poor front.

  31. Los Angeles Rams: Ryan Finley, QB, N.C. State
The Patriots have traded all of their potential successors for Tom Brady, so they’ll need to find a new one.

  32. New England Patriots: Jordan Brown, CB, South Dakota State
The Patriots need to obtain multiple young cornerbacks, as Jason McCourty could opt to retire soon.

  33. Indianapolis Colts: Ryquell Armstead, RB, Temple
Marlon Mack played very well to close out the year, but the Colts could still consider using a mid-round pick on a running back.

Ryquell Armstead had some positive feedback from talent evaluators in Indianapolis, as he had an impressive week. Armstead ran an excellent 40 (4.45), especially when considering his size (5-11, 220). He also posted a 7.02 3-cone, which was a very good time.

  34. Dallas Cowboys: Mike Weber, RB, Ohio State
The Cowboys could do better than Rod Smith as far as a backup for Ezekiel Elliott, which might explain why they’ve been so focused on running backs during the pre-draft process.

  35. Atlanta Falcons: Justin Hollins, LB, Oregon
The Falcons have yet to obtain an edge rusher, which is one of their primary needs.

  36. Philadelphia Eagles: D’Andre Walker, LB, Georgia
Jordan Hicks signed with the Cardinals this offseason. Even if the Eagles had retained Hicks, they’d need one more linebacker, as they never replaced Mychal Kendricks.

D’Andre Walker is a good run defender who is decent in coverage and can rush the passer very well. He was all over the place in the SEC Championship.
