2025 NFL Signings Graded by Team: Los Angeles Rams

Change Team:

This page lists all the 2025 NFL Signings for the Los Angeles Rams. I’ve listed all of the NFL Free Agent Signing Grades here, which included the Signings. Because I’ve begun posting polls for the Signings, I thought it would make sense to list just the NFL Signings here, so archiving the voting would be easier.

March 2025 – Signings

Rams sign LB Nate Landman (1 year, $1.1 million): A+ Grade
signed on 3/26/2025

The Rams have made several great moves this offseason, namely signing Davante Adams. One underrated transaction was adding Nate Landman. The Rams had a huge liability in the middle of their defense this past season in Christian Rozeboom. Landman will be a big ugrade at an absurdly cheap price.

Landman isn’t a great player by any means, but he’s strong in run support and isn’t too weak in coverage. He’s also just 26, so there’s some potential here as well.

Rams sign DT Poona Ford (3 years, $30 million): A- Grade
signed on 3/10/2025

The Chargers are usually poor against the run. That changed last year, thanks to Poona Ford’s presence. Ford was a forceful body against the rush and was able to generate some pressure on the quarterback.

This is a great move for the Rams. Their one weakness last year was their struggles against the run. Ford providing an upgrade in the trenches will certainly help in that regard.

Rams re-sign QB Jimmy Garoppolo (1 year, $11 million): B- Grade
signed on 3/10/2025

As stated earlier, mediocre backup quarterbacks make about $4 million per year. Superior backups make … not this much. Obviously, Jimmy Garoppolo is a premium backup because of all of his experience, but his seems like a lot for him. Still, it’s not a bad idea to have an insurance policy for Matthew Stafford, who is 37 and possesses a lengthy injury history.

Rams sign WR Davante Adams (2 years, $46 million): A- Grade
signed on 3/9/2025

It wasn’t too long ago that the Rams were supposedly shopping Matthew Stafford and beginning anew as a result. They’ve done a 180 instead. Not only did they keep Stafford; they managed to spend a fortune on one of the most talented receivers on the open market.

Davante Adams may not be the same elite receiver he once was at the age of 32, but he was still highly productive last year. He’ll be a colossal upgrade over Cooper Kupp, serving as one of the better No. 2 wideouts in the NFL.

Rams re-sign WR Tutu Atwell (1 year, $10 million): D Grade
signed on 3/6/2025

I don’t understand this deal. It’d be bad enough if it was just $10 million for a season, but this contract is fully guaranteed. That’s right – Tutu Atwell is somehow getting $10 million fully guaranteed for one season!

The Rams could have obtained a similar receiver for about a quarter of the funds, so I almost have to wonder if there’s some sort of money laundering involved. Speaking of which, you can get our great Money Laundering t-shirt here. The colors even line up for Atwell!

The only reason this contract isn’t a Millen grade is because it’s for just one year, so there aren’t major long-term ramifications. Plus, Atwell knows the offense, which has to count for something.

Rams re-sign OT Alaric Jackson (3 years, $57 million): A- Grade
signed on 3/1/2025

The Rams had a great Friday. Not only did they learn that Matthew Stafford would be returning to the team; the front office also re-signed its top free agent, Alaric Jackson, to a $57 million contract.

Retaining Stafford without Jackson would have been foolish. Jackson provides Stafford with some terrific blind-side protection. Jackson isn’t as good of a run blocker, but he’s not a liability in that regard. What’s important is that Jackson can keep Stafford healthy, which gives the Rams a chance to make a deep run into the playoffs once again. The price is fair but not a bargain, so this won’t quite be an “A” grade.
