This page lists all the 2025 NFL Signings for the New England Patriots. I’ve listed all of the NFL Free Agent Signing Grades here, which included the Signings. Because I’ve begun posting polls for the Signings, I thought it would make sense to list just the NFL Signings here, so archiving the voting would be easier.

March 2025 – Signings
Patriots sign LB Jack Gibbens (1 year, $1.3 million): A+ Grade
signed on 3/26/2025
I mentioned yesterday that Teven Jenkins needs a new agent. The same can be said of Jack Gibbens. I’m utterly shocked by how little money Gibbens will be receiving from New England in 2025.
Gibbens was excellent for the Titans last year, thriving in all aspects. He also played well the prior year, so it’s not like he’s a one-year wonder. On top of that, Gibbens has experience playing in Mike Vrabel’s system, so he’ll be a natural fit. This is easily an A+ signing.

Patriots sign WR Stefon Diggs (3 year, $69 million): D Grade
signed on 3/25/2025
This contract is staggering. It’s almost as if the Patriots don’t know that Stefon Diggs is coming off a torn ACL. In fact, this contract might be too much even if Diggs weren’t coming off a torn ACL! Diggs is a 31-year-old who has been declining in the past couple of seasons. He’s not worth this much money anymore.
And yet, Diggs will be even worse than usual in 2025 because he’s returning from a torn ACL. There are reports that suggest that he’ll be ready for Week 1, which sounds like complete nonsense. Remember when Robert Griffin was all in for Week 1? How’d that go? Diggs is just going to re-injure himself. This signing will be a disaster.
The only reason this signing isn’t a Millen is because the Patriots are at least trying to give Drake Maye a viable receiver. It’d help if they obtained a healthier one.

Patriots sign C Garrett Bradbury (2 years, $12 million): C+ Grade
signed on 3/18/2025
I think every Viking fan would tell you that this is an overpay. Garrett Bradbury had one good year with the team, but has been a major disappointment as a former first-round pick otherwise.
I would also say this is an overpay, but I can at least understand why the Patriots made the move. They’re absolutely desperate when it comes to the offensive line. They lost their long-time center, David Andrews, this offseason. I imagine they like some of the centers in this draft class, but decided that they needed an insurance policy in case they couldn’t obtain one of them.

Patriots sign S Marcus Epps (1 year, $4.4 million): C- Grade
signed on 3/14/2025
To say that New England’s offseason has been a disappointment would be an understatement. The Patriots entered free agency with the most cap space in the NFL, but they’ve barely made a splash. This signing isn’t even a light drizzle, as Marcus Epps has been inept in coverage over the years. He’s not bad in run support, so he’ll have some sort of function, but he should have gotten about half of this $4.4 million.

Patriots sign DE K'Lavon Chaisson (1 year, $5 million): B+ Grade
signed on 3/13/2025
K’Lavon Chaisson is a former first-round bust who was barely a factor on the football field for many years. However, he finally showed signs of life last season. He recorded five sacks despite being a part-time player for most of the year. Perhaps this was a fluke, but Chaisson is still just 25, so he has plenty of time to make something of his career.

Patriots sign QB Josh Dobbs (2 years, $8 million): B+ Grade
signed on 3/10/2025
I’ve mentioned repeatedly that mediocre backup quarterbacks tend to earn about $4 million. That’s exactly how much Joshua Dobbs will be earning from the Patriots. He has proven himself to be a capable, average backup quarterback, so this signing makes sense. It’ll be nice for Drake Maye to have a smart, veteran quarterback in the room with him.

Patriots sign LB Robert Spillane (3 years, $37.5 million): B+ Grade
signed on 3/10/2025
Robert Spillane really blossomed under Antonio Pierce. There was some concern that Spillane wouldn’t fare as well without Pierce, but he’ll be playing for another defensive mastermind in Mike Vrabel.
I like this signing. Spillane is a very good defender who will be filling a need. The price is fair, so a B+ grade seems warranted.

Patriots sign WR Mack Hollins (2 years, $8.4 million): B Grade
signed on 3/10/2025
Mack “Fred Flintstone” Hollins had some bright moments for the Bills last year, but he’s mostly a No. 4 receiver. He’s a fine addition for the Patriots to strengthen their receiving depth. I wouldn’t count on Hollins producing much, but he’ll be a better quaternary option for Drake Maye.

Patriots sign DT Milton Williams (4 years, $104 million): C+ Grade
signed on 3/10/2025
The poor Panthers thought they signed Milton Williams earlier today, but they were beaten to the punch by the Patriots. New England upped the price and managed to snatch Williams.
New England paid a ton of money for Williams. The former Eagle is a tremendous talent, but was just a rotational player in Philadelphia. He’ll produce more in a full-time role in New England. This signing could definitely pan out, but there’s a very bad history of large defensive linemen receiving nine-figure deals, so I wouldn’t have given Williams this much money.

Patriots sign OT Morgan Moses (3 years, $24 million): C- Grade
signed on 3/10/2025
I have mixed feelings about this signing. On one hand, Drake Maye needs as much help as possible with his dreadful offensive line. On the other hand, this is a wild overpay. Moses isn’t a bad lineman by any means, but he’s 34, so some major regression is coming soon.

Patriots sign CB Carlton Davis (3 years, $60 million): B- Grade
signed on 3/10/2025
Carlton Davis looked like he was going to be out of the NFL at one point, but he revived his career with the Lions last year. Davis was excellent for the Lions, so he’s cashing in on his great season.
This signing should help New England’s secondary, but part of me wonders if Davis is going to regress without Aaron Glenn, especially now that he has gotten paid. However, Mike Vrabel should get him to play well.

Patriots sign DE Harold Landry (3 years, $43.5 million): A+ Grade
signed on 3/9/2025
Charlie Campbell reported that the Patriots were going to focus on the trenches this offseason, and we saw the first sign of that in the wake of this signing. Harold Landry, who was recently cut by the Titans, joined New England on a 3-year deal worth $43.5 million.
I love this signing for many reasons. First, this seems like a great value for a very productive edge rusher who is still in his 20s. Second, this fills a colossal need, given that the Patriots had the fourth-worst pressure rate in the NFL last season. And third, Landry will have smooth transition with his new team because he played for Mike Vrabel in Tennessee earlier in his career.
