This page lists all the 2025 NFL Signings for the Buffalo Bills. I’ve listed all of the NFL Free Agent Signing Grades here, which included the Signings. Because I’ve begun posting polls for the Signings, I thought it would make sense to list just the NFL Signings here, so archiving the voting would be easier.

April 2025 – Signings
Bills sign CB Tre'Davious White (1 year, $6.8 million): B Grade
signed on 4/18/2025
Tre’Davious White was once acknowledged to be a very talented, young cornerback. Unfortunately, injuries have destroyed his career. He tore his ACL in 2021 and then tore his Achilles two years later. White has been a shell of his former self since.
White won’t fill Buffalo’s need at cornerback, but he will provide some needed depth. He also knows the system, so he’ll have a relatively smooth transition going from Baltimore to Buffalo. This still doesn’t make White a great addition, but the signing makes sense.

March 2025 – Signings
Bills extend CB Christian Benford (4 years, $76 million): A Grade
signed on 3/29/2025
If there was any doubt how important Christian Benford was to Buffalo’s defense last year, we saw it in the AFC Championship when he suffered an injury in the first quarter and missed the rest of the game. The Bills were promptly torched by JuJu Smith-Schuster.
Benford is a terrific corner. He’s also just 24, so there’s a very good chance that he’ll outplay his contract. This extension should be graded accordingly.

Bills sign CB Dane Jackson (1 year, $1.2 million): B+ Grade
signed on 3/25/2025
Dane Jackson returns to his original team. He was Buffalo’s seventh-round pick in 2020, but after spending four years there, he went to Carolina. It’s safe to say that didn’t go very well. Jackson was awful with the Panthers, so he didn’t last very long with the team. Now, he’s back in Buffalo.
Jackson should be able to rebound. He’s still relatively young (28), and he obviously knows Sean McDermott’s system. This is a solid depth signing at a reasonable price.

Bills sign DT Larry Ogunjobi (1 year, $8.3 million): C- Grade
signed on 3/14/2025
This is an overpay, but it’s not nearly as bad as what the Seahawks gave Cooper Kupp, so I can’t grade it as a Millen. A 1-year deal is not going to kill the Bills anyway.
Larry Ogunjobi was once a good player, but we saw no sign of the old version of him last year. He struggled against the run and was below average at generating pressure. He’s now 31, and to make matters worse, he’s going to miss the first six games due to a positive PED test. Ogunjobi should get his money back because those PEDs didn’t work.

Bills re-sign S Damar Hamlin (1 year, $2 million): A+ Grade
signed on 3/13/2025
Everyone knows Damar Hamlin’s story by now. Despite nearly dying on the football field, Hamlin became a starter two years later. He played well for the Bills in 2024 as a run defender. He wasn’t very good in coverage, but he proved at the very least that he can be an excellent third safety. Retaining him for just $2 million is a great bargain.

Bills sign DE Joey Bosa (1 year, $12.6 million): A+ Grade
signed on 3/11/2025
It was believed all along that Joey Bosa would sign with the 49ers to play with his brother. However, the Bills stepped in and saw that this would not happen. They managed to replace Von Miller by signing Bosa to a 1-year deal.
This is the type of move that could put the Bills over the top of the Chiefs. The key to beating Patrick Mahomes is to pressure him heavily without blitzing, as we just saw in the Super Bowl. Bosa is a terrific edge rusher, so he would allow Buffalo to do that. The one concern here is that Bosa is injury-prone, so he could miss extensive action once again. This is just a chance the Bills had to take, however, and given that Bosa was signed to a 1-year deal, there aren’t any major long-term ramifications.

Bills re-sign RB Ty Johnson (2 years, $5 million): A Grade
signed on 3/11/2025
Ty Johnson is a nice weapon for Josh Allen. He’s a quality backup and a nifty receiver out of the backfield. He deserved a bit more than $5 million over two years, so the Bills deserve a high grade for this re-signing.

Bills sign DE Michael Hoecht (3 years, $24 million): B- Grade
signed on 3/10/2025
Michael Hoecht is a quality rotational edge player who will have to fill the departed Von Miller’s shoes. Hoecht has done well as a pass rusher, logging five sacks per year over the past three seasons, all while holding up well against the run. Hoecht is a bit overpaid here, but I don’t think this is a terrible deal by any means. You can never have too many pass rushers when trying to beat Patrick Mahomes.

Bills sign WR Joshua Palmer (3 years, $36 million): C Grade
signed on 3/10/2025
It’s a great time to be a mediocre NFL receiver because business is booming for those players. Joshua Palmer was thought to have some potential last year because he had a 769-yard season in the past. Palmer, however, was a major disappointment.
There’s some potential here for Palmer, so I don’t hate this signing. This is an overpay, but receivers like this are being overpaid left and right anyway, and we’ve seen worse contracts than this.

Bills re-sign QB Josh Allen (6 years, $330 million): A+ Grade
signed on 3/9/2025
Confused? Josh Allen was signed through 2028. A new contract was not expected, yet the Bills tore up the old deal and gave their franchise quarterback a $330 million contract with a record-setting $250 million in guarantees.
This new contract serves two purposes. The first is to reward Allen for his MVP season, which was well deserved. Some are angry that Allen won, but you can give those people a cool Josh Allen Derangement Syndrome Awareness Month t-shirt. The second is to open up some cap space in the short term so the Bills can obtain a receiver. Buffalo is hurting at the position and needs to give Allen a new top target to get the team over the hump. This contract will allow that to happen, so it’s hard to not grade this as an A+ signing.

Bills re-sign DE Gregory Rousseau (4 years, $80 million): A Grade
signed on 3/8/2025
The Bills have spent a ton of money in the past 24 hours. Just after extending Terrel Bernard, they managed to retain Gregory Rousseau with an $80 million contract.
Rousseau, 25, is one of the better young edge rushers in the NFL. He recorded nine sacks last year, a number that is not indicative of how much pressure he placed on opposing quarterbacks. He’ll continue to improve, which makes this re-signing an excellent move. Given the upward trajectory, this contract could seem like a bargain in two years.

Bills re-sign LB Terrel Bernard (4 years, $50 million): C+ Grade
signed on 3/7/2025
I’m a bit torn on this signing. On one hand, Terrel Bernard is the leader of the defense, and he’s also young (25), so his best days seem to be ahead of him. He’s also very good in run support.
On the other hand, Bernard is coming off a down year in coverage. He was a liability over the middle of the field, so this seems to be too much money for a linebacker who isn’t great in coverage.

February 2025 – Signings
Bills re-sign WR Khalil Shakir (4 years, $60.2 million; $32 million guaranteed): B- Grade
signed on 2/25/2025
The Bills are starved for talent at receiver, so it makes sense for them to retain the only reliable player they had at the position last season. That would be Khalil Shakir, who was re-signed for $15 million per year.
Shakir is a solid, but not great receiver. I wouldn’t have paid him this much money, but I wouldn’t exactly call this a huge overpay, or anything. I understand why the Bills have given him this contract, but I can’t grade this re-signing very favorably.
