This page lists all the 2025 NFL Signings for the Dallas Cowboys. I’ve listed all of the NFL Free Agent Signing Grades here, which included the Signings. Because I’ve begun posting polls for the Signings, I thought it would make sense to list just the NFL Signings here, so archiving the voting would be easier.

March 2025 – Signings
Cowboys sign RB Miles Sanders (1 year, $1.77 million): C- Grade
signed on 3/16/2025
Miles Sanders signed with the Cowboys a couple of days ago, but we finally have the contract details. His 1-year deal is worth just $1.77 million. This seems cheap, but I don’t know what benefit there is to signing him. Sanders posted great stats with the Eagles a few years ago, but that was the byproduct of Philadelphia’s amazing offensive line. Sanders has struggled since leaving his original team, and I don’t see that changing in Dallas.

Cowboys sign DE Dante Fowler (1 year, $8 million): B Grade
signed on 3/14/2025
Dante Fowler somehow logged 11 sacks last year, but he lucked into some of them. That number is definitely not indicative of how he played. He was a solid edge rusher and may continue to be one in 2025 unless he declines due to age (31). This is a fine signing, as the Cowboys need as many players as possible to chase around Jalen Hurts and Jayden Daniels.

Cowboys sign DE Payton Turner (1 year, $3 million): B Grade
signed on 3/11/2025
It’s hard to believe Payton Turner was once a first-round pick because he’s done nothing in his career. He hasn’t topped two sacks in any of his four seasons. However, Turner is only 26, so there’s a slight chance that he’ll be a late bloomer, especially with the opposition so focused on Micah Parsons. The Cowboys are buying at the very lowest on Turner and are risking nothing, so this is a solid move.

Cowboys re-sign WR/KR KaVontae Turpin (3 years, $18 million): A Grade
signed on 3/11/2025
The first thing I thought when I saw this contract was that the Cowboys could begin to use KaVontae Turpin more offensively. They certainly didn’t utilize him correctly on offense, especially when considering the lack of talent at receiver outside of CeeDee Lamb. Either way, keeping Turpin is a great move because he’s one of the most electric return specialists in the NFL. It’ll be shocking if he doesn’t outplay this contract.

Cowboys sign DT Solomon Thomas (2 years, $8 million): B Grade
signed on 3/11/2025
The Cowboys lost Chauncey Golston to the Giants, so it would make sense that they’d sign someone to their defensive line rotation. That someone is Solomon Thomas, whom the 49ers famously once drafted over Patrick Mahomes.
Thomas has been a bust as a former No. 3 overall pick, but he’s at least carved out a decent career as a rotational pass rusher. He has 10 sacks in the past two seasons, so he’ll be able to help Dallas get after the quarterback a bit. He’s a major liability in run support, however, so he’s not anywhere close to being an every-down player.

Cowboys sign G Robert Jones (1 year, $4.5 million): B- Grade
signed on 3/10/2025
Robert Jones is a former undrafted free agent who became a full-time starter for the first time in his carer. Unfortunately, Jones did not play very well, struggling in all aspects. It makes sense for Dallas to sign him into a backup role in the wake of Zack Martin’s retirement, but Dak Prescott will be in trouble if Jones has to start a large number of games.

Cowboys sign RB Javonte Williams (1 year, $3.5 million): A Grade
signed on 3/10/2025
Javonte Williams was great for the Broncos – until he suffered a torn ACL early in his career. Unfortunately, he has never been the same since suffering that injury. It seemed like he’d have a good shot to rebound last year, but the Broncos opted to use other running backs over him. Still, there’s a chance that Williams can finally revert back to old form. He might just be damaged goods, but the Cowboys aren’t really risking anything with this signing.

Cowboys re-sign DT Osa Odighizuwa (4 years, $80 million): C Grade
signed on 3/4/2025
It’s not surprising to see Jerry Jones make a sketchy deal like this. He hired the thrice-fired former offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer to be his new head coach, after all.
This move isn’t nearly as bad as the Schottenheimer hiring. I can see how it makes some sense, as Odighizuwa is a young player who notched seven sacks last year. However, much of that was a byproduct of Micah Parsons garnering so much attention. Odighizuwa is also a major liability against the run.
