  1. Cleveland Browns: Corey Coleman, WR, Baylor
The Browns lost Travis Benjamin to free agency. That leaves just Josh Gordon as a viable receiving option, and there’s no telling if Cleveland can count on him. Thus, the team will have to draft a receiver early.

Pick change; previously Derrick Henry, RB

  2. Tennessee Titans: Jason Spriggs, OT, Indiana
The Titans selected Jalen Ramsey, the player they’ve coveted most this whole time, in the first round. They neglected Marcus Mariota’s pass protection, but they can address that here. Jason Spriggs would allow Jeremiah Poutasi to move to guard, so this selection effectively upgrades two spots.

  3. Dallas Cowboys: Eli Apple, CB, Ohio State
The Cowboys have a huge hole at cornerback across from Orlando Scandrick. Both Morris Claiborne and Brandon Carr have proven to be highly inconsistent, so this is a position Dallas will have to address.

Pick change; previously Braxton Miller, WR

  4. San Diego Chargers: Hunter Henry, TE, Arkansas
The Chargers re-signed Antonio Gates this offseason, but managed to lose Ladarius Green in the process. As a result, they’ll have to find a new, young tight end to take over for Gates once he retires.

Pick change; previously Bronson Kaufusi, DE/DT

  5. Baltimore Ravens: Derrick Henry, RB, Alabama
I imagine the Ravens would love to go with a cornerback (Mackensie Alexander) or a left tackle (Taylor Decker) at this juncture, but if Ozzie Newsome is planning on taking the best player overall, he may decide that’s Derrick Henry. Newsome has an affinity for Alabama players, and it’s not like the Ravens couldn’t use help at running back.

Pick change; previously Taylor Decker, OT

  6. San Francisco 49ers: Michael Thomas, WR, Ohio State
The 49ers wasted money on Torrey Smith, while Anquan Boldin, who doesn’t have much left in the tank, is currently a free agent. A new receiver is desperately needed, and Michael Thomas has the size and length Chip Kelly covets.

  7. Jacksonville Jaguars: Cody Whitehair, G/OT, Kansas State
The Jaguars finally managed to find some help at tackle by signing Kelvin Beachum. They’ll have to add one more lineman on the interior. It was initially projected to be a center, but word is that Jacksonville plans on moving Brandon Linder to that spot. Thus, a guard is needed.

  8. Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Mackensie Alexander, CB, Clemson
The Buccaneers might have the weakest group of cornerbacks in the NFL. Alterraun Verner was an abomination this past season, while Johnthan Banks has only been marginally better, but only by default. This is an area that absolutely must be addressed this offseason. And no, signing Brent Grimes doesn’t count as addressing the position.

By the way, special thanks to Mackensie Alexander for publishing his Draft Diary on this site. It’s a great read if you haven’t checked it out yet.

  9. New York Giants: Andrew Billings, DT, Baylor
This draft class is packed with talented defensive linemen. As luck would have it, the Giants happen to need multiple upgrades up front. They have to find an interior player who can get to the quarterback, and Andrew Billings would be a nice fit. I dropped Billings into the second round several weeks ago, based on what teams have told us, and it sounds like they were right on the money, based on Billings’ mediocre Combine showing.

  10. Chicago Bears: Kamalei Correa, DE/OLB, Boise State
The Bears have made some solid upgrades to their front seven this offseason, but they could still use another edge rusher. Willie Young has stated that he wants to move to a team that runs a 4-3, while Lamarr Houston didn’t play all that well this past year.

Pick change; previously Yannick Ngakoue, DE/OLB

  11. Miami Dolphins: Xavien Howard, CB, Baylor
Miami’s secondary is a mess, as everyone took note in a Monday night loss to the Giants. The front office will have to find help at both cornerback and safety, and the former can be addressed here.

  12. Los Angeles Rams: Taylor Decker, OT/G, Ohio State
This is an insurance policy for both Greg Robinson and Rodger Saffold. Robinson has struggled immensely at left tackle, so Taylor Decker could take over at that spot, moving Robinson inside, where he’s more comfortable. The other option is that Decker could take over for Saffold, who is constantly injured.

Pick change; previously Hunter Henry, TE

  13. Oakland Raiders: Darian Thompson, S, Boise State
Darian Thompson had a rough Combine, but as Tony Pauline reported, Thompson was dealing with an illness. The Raiders like Thompson, as they need a safety to replace Charles Woodson.

  14. Los Angeles Rams: Tyler Boyd, WR, Pittsburgh
The Rams’ need at receiver is extremely obvious, as they had no play-makers at the position outside of Tavon Austin. They didn’t do anything in free agency to fix this concern either.

Pick change; previously Su’a Cravens, S

  15. Detroit Lions: Shaq Lawson, DE, Clemson
Here’s another defensive lineman for the Lions, as they’ll need someone to replace Jason Jones if he leaves via free agency. Shaq Lawson fits the best-player-available model, though he’s expected to be chosen in the second round in the wake of medical concerns.

Pick change; previously Corey Coleman, WR

  16. New Orleans Saints: Shilique Calhoun, DE/OLB, Michigan State
The Saints can continue to upgrade their horrible defensive line, as they really don’t have any edge rushers of note after Cameron Jordan. In a division comprised of Cam Newton, Matt Ryan and Jameis Winston, New Orleans will have to improve its ability to get to the quarterback.

Pick change; previously Shaq Lawson, DE

  17. Indianapolis Colts: Ryan Kelly, C, Alabama
The Colts need to stop screwing around and fix Andrew Luck’s offensive line, which has been an abomination for far too long. Its performance throughout this past season has been an embarrassment. An upgrade in the interior is needed in addition to right tackle.

Pick change; previously Nick Martin, C

  18. Buffalo Bills: Noah Spence, DE, Eastern Kentucky
The Bills might snatch up Noah Spence in a heartbeat. Rex Ryan has shown that he doesn’t care about character concerns, and defensive end is a big need in the wake of Mario Williams’ lethargy and subsequent departure.

Pick change; previously Robert Nkemdiche, DE/DT

  19. Atlanta Falcons: Justin Simmons, S, Boston College
William Moore was too injury-prone to rely upon, so the Falcons parted ways with him this offseason. All they have now are a couple of mediocre players at safety, so they could use a dynamic play-maker at the position.

  20. New York Jets: Cardale Jones, QB, Ohio State
As of this writing, Ryan Fitzpatrick is still on the open market. Charlie Campbell reported that the Jets have been scouting quarterbacks hard this offseason, perhaps well aware that some team would outbid them for Fitzpatrick (or knowing he’d ask for too much money). With that in mind, Cardale Jones is a strong possibility here. From the sound of it, Jones will be chosen in the second round, and he projects as a great fit for Chan Gailey’s offense.

  21. Houston Texans: Nick Martin, C, Notre Dame
The Texans don’t need to spend this selection on Christian Hackenberg anymore; instead, they can add a center to protect their new quarterback. They’ll have to replace Ben Jones.

Pick change; previously Ryan Kelly, C

  22. Washington Redskins: Kendall Fuller, CB, Virginia Tech
The Redskins have needed help at cornerback for quite some time now. Perhaps they’ll finally fix the position in the 2016 NFL Draft, beginning with this pick. Kendall Fuller is a very talented cornerback, but is being pushed down by an injury (one team we’ve spoken to even has him in the third round.) A healthy Fuller would be a top-10 choice, so the Redskins are getting great value here.

Pick change; previously Tyler Boyd, WR

  23. Minnesota Vikings: Kyler Fackrell, OLB, Utah State
Chad Greenway may or may not return for one more season. Regardless, the Vikings will have to find someone who can take over as a third starting linebacker.

  24. Cincinnati Bengals: Adolphus Washington, DT, Ohio State
The Bengals need to bolster the interior of their defensive line, as Domata Peko is no longer the same player he once was. There should be a couple of defensive tackles to choose from toward the end of the first or second rounds.

Pick change; previously Sterling Shepard, WR

  25. Seattle Seahawks: Germain Ifedi, OT/G, Texas A&M
The Seahawks currently have a two-man competition at left tackle between Garry Gilliam and J’Marcus Webb. I’m willing to bet Russell Wilson is having trouble sleeping at night right now.

Pick change; previously Noah Spence, DE

  26. Green Bay Packers: Yannick Ngakoue, DE/OLB, Maryland
Even with Clay Matthews moving back outside, an edge rusher will be looked at. Julius Peppers won’t be around much longer, and Nick Perry hasn’t really done anything, so the Packers could be selecting a future starter with this choice.

Pick change; previously Austin Hooper, TE

  27. Pittsburgh Steelers: Bronson Kaufusi, DE/DT, BYU
The Steelers could use an early selection on a defensive end, as they currently don’t have much in terms of a rotation. Having good depth on the defensive line is very important, and that’s something Pittsburgh doesn’t enjoy right now.

Pick change; previously Germain Ifedi, OT/G

  28. Kansas City Chiefs: Sterling Shepard, WR, Oklahoma
The Chiefs need a capable receiver besides Jeremy Maclin. When Maclin left the game against the Chargers, the offense looked pretty lost for a while.

Pick change; previously Blake Martinez, ILB

  29. New England Patriots: Alex McCalister, DE/OLB, Florida
The Patriots acquired this pick for Chandler Jones, which I posted grades for in the NFL Free Agent Signing Grades page. So, why not replace Jones here? New England will have to address its pass rush.

    Pick change; previously Shilique Calhoun,

  30. New England Patriots: Kenneth Dixon, RB, Louisiana Tech
It doesn’t seem like Bill Belichick wants to count on LeGarrette Blount, so he’ll probably try to find someone to pair with Dion Lewis.

  31. Carolina Panthers: Sheldon Day, DE/DT, Notre Dame
The Panthers added Paul Soliai this offseason, but they could still use some depth at defensive tackle with some of their starters heading into free agency soon. Besides, Sheldon Day is just too good to pass up here.

  32. Denver Broncos: Braxton Miller, WR, Ohio State
The Broncos have gotten absolutely nothing out of Cody Latimer, so they might be willing to take a new third receiver during the NFL Draft, if the value presents itself like it does here.

Pick change; previously Will Redmond, CB
