Chiefs 29, Steelers 10
  • The Chiefs would be able to clinch the No. 1 seed with a victory in this game. They made sure they’d succeed in their mission by making a statement in the early stages of this Christmas affair. They marched down the field on their first two drives, with Patrick Mahomes finding Justin Watson and Xavier Worthy for touchdowns. Because of a missed extra point, the Chiefs were up 13-0.

The Steelers were able to generate some drives, but aside from one touchdown, they ended in disaster. Russell Wilson was intercepted in the red zone, and he later took a big sack on a third down. Pittsburgh was able to gain some momentum in the second quarter, but that didn’t last very long.

Th Chiefs had complete control of this game in the second half. Mahomes was nearly flawless, ultimately throwing three touchdowns in total. The third score went to Travis Kelce, who became the Chiefs’ all-time leading touchdown receptions scorer, eclipsing Tony Gonzalez.

  • Kansas City had issues putting away bad teams several weeks ago, but things have changed. The offense has improved with Marquise Brown returning and Worthy blossoming. The scary thing is that Chris Jones didn’t even play in this game.

  • George Pickens returned for the Steelers, but their offense was still stagnant. The problem was the offensive line, which surrendered five sacks.

  • Ravens 31, Texans 2
  • The Ravens just had a huge victory against the Steelers, but they had no intention of taking their foot off the gas. This was a showcase game for them on Christmas, and a victory in this contest would give them a better chance of clinching the division.

Baltimore came out on fire with a quick touchdown drive in which Derrick Henry plowed into the end zone. The score was eventually 10-0 when there was some rare drama in this game. Taking a carry in the shadow of his own end zone, Henry tried to run outside, but was tackled shy of his goal line for a safety. The Texans had the ball while down eight, but couldn’t get anything going. C.J. Stroud struggled throughout the entire afternoon. He fell apart last week following Tank Dell’s injury, and it was apparent that he still hadn’t recovered from it.

The Ravens carried a 17-2 lead into intermission, but it didn’t take very long for the Ravens to distance themselves following one of the strangest halftime musical performances the NFL has ever seen. Lamar Jackson dashed for a 48-yard touchdown and then followed that up with another score, this time hitting Mark Andrews in the end zone. Both teams sat their starters in the fourth quarter.

  • Thanks to Pittsburgh’s loss and this victory, the Ravens will clinch the AFC North with a win over the Browns next week. They’ll get the No. 2 seed if the Bills lose both of their remaining games.

  • The Texans are lucky they are in a terrible division because they have capsized in the second half of the season. They look like they will be one-and-done in the playoffs. Then again, so did the 2008 Cardinals, and they were able to advance to the Super Bowl, so perhaps there is some hope for Houston.

  • Seahawks 6, Bears 3
  • This was not a game that NFL Films will be storing in a time capsule to show fans in the future. It was an absolutely dreadful contest where both teams made mistakes. As our Tuesday night co-host Evan Daniel put it, “Excel won’t even let me enter the score. It keeps changing to ‘June 3.'”

All the scoring was done in the opening half. The Seahawks kicked an early field goal and then drilled another kick just prior to halftime. The Bears, meanwhile, couldn’t move the ball because Caleb Williams consistently took big losses on sacks. Seattle repeatedly blitzed Williams, and Chicago had no answer for it because the team currently doesn’t possess an offensive coordinator. Williams was frazzled the entire night, and he didn’t have the benefit of leaning on D’Andre Swift versus Seattle’s stout run defense.

The Seahawks got some nice gains from their two running backs in the opening half, but Zach Charbonnet inexplicably rushed for just seven yards after intermission. The Seahawks made mistakes with poor play-calling and a turnover that nearly cost them the game. Pharaoh Brown lost a fumble that was returned for a touchdown, but the officials ruled Brown down by contact.

This ultimately didn’t matter because the Bears kept shooting themselves in the foot with more sacks and penalties. On the final drive, there was a false start that turned fourth-and-inches into fourth-and-5. Chicago decided to punt, but the play clock ran out, so the team had to burn a timeout. The Bears then decided to go for it and miraculously converted. However, the Bears let so much time drain off the clock despite still maintaining two timeouts. Williams wasted a down on a hurried throw and then heaved a ball up for grabs that was intercepted.

  • This game ultimately didn’t matter very much to the Seahawks because the Rams might clinch the division if they win Saturday night. Whether they do or not comes down to strength-of-victory tie-breakers. The Seahawks still have to win in Los Angeles next week to have any sort of chance.

  • This was an embarrassing showing for Williams. Everyone blamed it on the coach when the horrible clock management happened on Thanksgiving, but with an interim head coach now at the helm, Williams shoulders more of a responsibility, especially because this happened already.

  • Chargers 40, Patriots 7
  • The Chargers had a slight hiccup to start the game when their opening drive stalled because of drops by Ladd McConkey and Quentin Johnston. This was the only time they’d face adversity this entire game, as they were able to prevail in a lopsided affair in which both teams emptied their bench in the fourth quarter.

Justin Herbert was able to overcome those drops by leading a touchdown drive on the ensuing possession by connecting with Derius Davis on a 23-yard shot into the end zone. A field goal later, Drake Maye was knocked out of the game with an apparent concussion. While Maye missed only one drive, he played the rest of the way as if he were concussed. He lost a fumble on a backward pitch to no one, setting up another Chargers score.

Maye, who barely completed half of his passes, took far too many sacks, and the one touchdown drive he led was aided by some penalties. Maye saw pressure all afternoon, while Herbert had a clean pocket the entire time.

  • The Chargers outgained the Patriots, 428-181. They’ve clinched playoff berth in the wake of this victory. They can move up to the No. 5 seed with a win and a Pittsburgh loss next week, but they may decide to rest their starters.

  • The Patriots are one loss away from clinching a top-two pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. The real challenge will be losing to the Bills next week if Buffalo sits all of its starters. You can see whom I have New England selecting in my 2025 NFL Mock Draft.

  • Bengals 30, Broncos 24
  • There were major playoff implications at stake in this game. The Bengals needed a win to stay alive, while a victory for Denver would clinch playoff for them. The Bengals dominated the first half in terms of yardage. Following a Denver field goal, Cincinnati engineered multiple trips into the red zone, but had trouble converting deep in Denver territory. On one sequence, Ja’Marr Chase dropped a touchdown, and then Joe Burrow took a sack on fourth down.

The Bengals eventually scored a touchdown on a Burrow pass to Tee Higgins. Down 10-3 in the third quarter, the Broncos seemed to remember that they had a huge advantage with their running game. They established the rush, which set up a tying touchdown. The Bengals answered with a touchdown drive that featured a Burrow conversion on a third-and-13 run and a Chase Brown fourth-down reception to move the sticks. Burrow found Higgins once again to go up 17-10.

The Bengals didn’t feel safe for long, as Bo Nix launched a bomb to Marvin Mims, who hauled in a 51-yard touchdown. This tied the game, but the Bengals eventually put themselves into a great spot with a first-and-goal with about a minute remaining, thanks to a 34-yard strike from Burrow to Chase. Brown broke free for a nice run, but slid down awkwardly shy of the goal line in order to force Denver to use its timeouts. He suffered an injury on the play, however. Curiously, Burrow snuck into the end zone for a touchdown on the next play rather than kneeling down to run time off the clock. This was a colossal mistake because it allowed the Broncos to have one more chance. Nix drove down the field and hit Mims for another touchdown to tie and force the game into overtime.

Following an exchange of punts in overtime, the Bengals drove deep into Denver territory. They settled for a 33-yard field goal attempt, but this was yet another blunder in the red zone because Cade York missed. The Broncos had a second three-and-out where Nix forgot that Courtland Sutton exists, so the Bengals had one more chance because a tie would eliminate them. Burrow lofted a beautiful 31-yard touch pass to Higgins along the sideline. Rather than trying a field goal again, Burrow threw on the ensuing play right to Higgins, who snatched his third touchdown of the day to win the game.

  • The Bengals had a heroic, albeit flawed victory to stay alive. They still need a lot of help, however. They need to win in Week 18, and they need the Broncos, Colts, and Dolphins to lose one more game.

  • Despite the loss, the Broncos are still in good shape. They’ll qualify for the playoffs with a win next week against the Chiefs, who figure to sit their starters.

  • Rams 13, Cardinals 9
  • The Cardinals were eliminated from the playoffs with their overtime loss to the Panthers last week. Perhaps they didn’t get the memo that their season was over because they played with full effort in this game. They even started James Conner, who injured his knee versus the Panthers.

Conner didn’t last very long, but Arizona’s effort did. The Cardinals legitimately outgained the Rams in total net yards and yards per play. They had a chance to take the lead in the early going, but squandered an opportunity in the red zone when they failed to move the chains on fourth down. The Rams, meanwhile, couldn’t move the sticks because of severe pressure from Arizona. Right tackle Rob Havenstein’s absence was glaring, as backup Joe Noteboom was atrocious in relief.

The Rams eventually got on the board with a touchdown in the middle of the second quarter and then added a field goal to go up 10-0 at halftime. The Cardinals, undaunted, continued to have success in between the 20s in the third quarter and eventually converted a touchdown, though the ensuing extra point was blocked. Meanwhile, it was the Rams’ turn to stall in the red zone, as a long drive of theirs in the fourth quarter ended with just one yard gained on a first-and-goal at the 8-yard line.

Because the Rams managed just three points in the red zone, the Cardinals had a chance to win. Down 13-9, with two minutes remaining, they needed a touchdown because of the blocked extra point. A long pass to Trey McBride pushed the Cardinals over midfield. A 13-yard burst from Michael Carter moved Arizona into the red zone. However, Murray’s next pass was thrown to McBride, who dropped the ball, which landed into the arms of a Los Angeles defender for an interception for the game-clinching interception.

  • Despite their poor effort, the Rams are in the playoffs, provided a series of events occur. For instance, the Bears need to beat the Packers next week.

  • The Cardinals played tough, but one has to wonder where this effort was last week versus Carolina.

  • Giants 45, Colts 33
  • The Colts had every reason to win because they’d qualify for the playoffs with two victories and a Denver loss in Week 18. The Giants had every reason to lose because they’d maintain control of the No. 1 pick with a defeat. It didn’t seem as though either team got the memo as far as incentive is concerned.

Indianapolis had some miserable execution to begin the game. Joe Flacco, starting in favor of the injured Anthony Richardson, sailed an interception on a deep shot to a tight end. Shortly later, the Colts foolishly ran on a third-and-8 and then opted to kick a 54-yard field goal instead of trying a fourth-and-3. They missed the long attempt, giving the Giants a short field. New York responded with a touchdown drive to go up 14-3.

The Giants would go up 21-6 shortly later, which is when the Colts finally showed signs of life. Flacco completed a fourth-down pass to Kylen Granson and then Jonathan Taylor rumbled into the end zone to make this a one-score game heading into intermission. The Colts, however, gave back the touchdown rather quickly, as New York scored on the opening kickoff of the second half to go up 15 again.

The Colts, however, would not go away. Flacco and Taylor came to life in the second half. Flacco repeatedly connected with Michael Pittman Jr. and Alec Pierce to eventually score a touchdown to draw to within two, but they botched the conversion attempt to keep New York ahead. Still, it seemed as though the Colts had a chance to mount a comeback, but on the ensuing possession, two Colts whiffed on a simple tackle of Malik Nabers, and the first-round receiver sprinted for a 59-yard touchdown to put the Giants up nine.

Indianapolis once again came back with another touchdown, with Flacco finding Pittman in the end zone. The Colts still had enough time to win the game, but they needed a stop. Instead, the Giants scored yet another touchdown. Wan’Dale Robinson caught passes of 35 and 18 yards, ultimately setting up Lock’s game-sealing scoring run.

  • This was a truly idiotic win by the Giants. They had control the No. 1 overall pick, but lost it with this senseless victory. They are now No. 4 in the draft order, which means they’ll have to surrender resources to land a franchise quarterback.

  • The Colts only have themselves to blame for this. They shouldn’t have even needed to win this game if it wasn’t for Taylor dropping the ball shy of the goal line versus the Broncos. Perhaps this was some football karma for how much money Indianapolis backers lost in Week 15 because of Taylor’s foolishness.

  • Raiders 25, Saints 10
  • The Saints became the first team to be shut out this season in Monday’s loss to the Packers. It didn’t take the Saints very long to get on the scoreboard, and they did so via a trick play. They scored a touchdown on a flea-flicker, as Spencer Rattler found Foster Moreau for a touchdown to go up 7-3.

This lead didn’t last very long. Aidan O’Connell connected with Brock Bowers on a nice touch pass to give him the all-time rookie receiving yards record, surpassing Mike Ditka. O’Connell then hit Jakobi Meyers in the end zone to take a 13-10 lead into intermission.

Bowers continued to do some damage in the second half. He didn’t score a touchdown, but he also broke Puka Nacua’s all-time rookie receptions record. The Saints, down 19-10 after two kicks, gave the ball away with an interception on a Rattler overthrow. This pick allowed the Raiders to finally score a touchdown in the second half, with O’Connell drilling a score to Tre Tucker to put this game out of reach.

  • It was only two weeks ago that the Raider fans envisioned drafting Shedeur Sanders. They even had “Tank for Shedeur” signs in the stands. With two wins in the past two weeks, the Raiders are toast as far as finding a franchise quarterback is concerned.

  • The Saints continued to lose without all of their main players. However, their injuries occurred too late in the year for them to have a shot at the top pick.

  • Jaguars 20, Titans 13
  • The Titans were thoroughly embarrassed by surrendering 200-plus rushing yards to Jonathan Taylor last week. There was some thought that they could show some resilience by bouncing back from their poor effort. Instead, the Titans allowed Mac Jones to move up and down the field against them. Jones engineered three scoring drives in the opening half. Tennessee, meanwhile, got started slowly when Mason Rudolph was intercepted on a deflection while down 3-0.

It took a while for Tennessee to get on the board. Despite 64 rushing yards from Tyjae Spears in the opening half alone, the Titans earned their first points as time expired entering intermission. It was only a field goal, however, and the Titans went into the break down 13-3.

The Titans were able to creep closer with a touchdown and a field goal in the second half, trimming Jacksonville’s lead. However, Jones engineered an 89-yard touchdown drive to extend the lead to 20-10, firing a score to Brian Thomas Jr. The Titans eventually had the ball down a touchdown with 1:29 remaining. Rudolph launched a 24-yard pass to Calvin Ridley to help move into Jacksonville territory. However, a fourth-down attempt into the end zone for Nick Westbrook-Ikhine was broken up, giving Jacksonville the victory.

  • Jacksonville fans in the stands were happy to see their team do well, but they may want to re-think that sentiment. The Jaguars gave one of their rivals a better draft pick, and with the Giants winning, Tennessee will be in position to land a franchise quarterback.

  • The Titans lost, but outgained the Jaguars, 337-295. They did well to suffer a loss, as they’re currently in position to have the No. 2 pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.

  • Bills 40, Jets 14
  • There was some question as to whether the Bills would put full effort into this game, given that they can clinch the No. 2 seed next week. They showed nice focus on the opening drive when they methodically went down the field on an 80-yard drive lasting about seven minutes. Josh Allen ran into the end zone to go up a touchdown.

Despite this impressive drive, this was a 7-0 game for a long time until Aaron Rodgers was sacked in the end zone for a safety. Rodgers also threw an interception, as he didn’t have the best showing in the opening half. His struggles continued in the third quarter. He fired into heavy traffic and was intercepted. Adding insult to injury, Rodgers was flagged for a late hit out of bounds on the intercepting player. This set up an Allen deep touchdown pass to Amari Cooper. The Bills went up 19-0, effectively ending the game.

Rodgers remained in for a while, but was mercifully benched in the fourth quarter. The Jets scored two touchdowns, but only after Rodgers was pulled.

  • The Bills clinched the No. 2 seed in the AFC, so they can rest next week. Allen may also have clinched the MVP award with three touchdowns in this game.

  • The Jets had some momentum going prior to last week, but that has come to a quick halt. They were pitiful in this game, and it’s clear that the team needs to blow up the roster.

  • Buccaneers 48, Panthers 14
  • The Buccaneers didn’t waste any time getting on the board in an attempt to redeem themselves for the Sunday night loss to the Cowboys. Baker Mayfield went 70 yards in just 3:25 to go up 7-0. The Panthers, however, answered with their own 70-yard drive lasting 3:20, as Bryce Young was able to connect with Adam Thielen for a 17-yard score.

Thielen’s touchdown was the last time the Panthers would score – until Thielen did so again. However, at that point, Tampa Bay was already up 27-7. The Panthers had no answer for Mayfield, Bucky Irving, and Mike Evans. Mayfield completed his first nine passes and hit Evans for two touchdowns. Irving, meanwhile, rumbled for 95 yards in the opening half alone. Prior to one of Tampa Bay’s touchdowns, the crowd chanted, “Buck-y! Buck-y! Buck-y!” as they hoped for an Irving touchdown. Instead, Mayfield found Evans the second time for a score. Thielen’s second touchdown gave the Panthers some life, as they trailed by 13 at intermission.

This life didn’t last very long. The Buccaneers forced a punt to begin the third quarter and then engineered another touchdown drive. Tampa Bay then returned a blocked punt for a touchdown to effectively end the game at 41-14.

  • The Buccaneers won, so to claim the division title, they’ll need another victory in Week 18 and a loss by the Falcons at some point.

  • This is the second time in three weeks that the Panthers were blown out by a team focused to play them. They gave the Eagles and Chiefs close battles, but those teams weren’t focused for Carolina.

  • Eagles 41, Cowboys 7
    By Charlie Campbell – @draftcampbell

  • EDITOR’S NOTE: DeVonta Smith did what Saquon Barkley and Jonathan Taylor did, which was post a great performance after disappointing his team with a terrible mistake. His over 47.5 receiving yards prop was easy money.

  • The Eagles were without Jalen Hurts, and Kenny Pickett went out in the second half with a rib injury, but it didn’t matter as the Philadelphia defense dominated. In the first quarter, Dallas was playing well, but it didn’t take much time for the Eagles’ offense to catch fire, and the defense locked things down. Saquon Barkley crossed the 2,000-yard mark, and the Eagles clinched the NFC East. This was an embarrassing loss for Dallas, as the team looked like it quit at halftime. This blowout definitely won’t help Mike McCarthy’s bid to return to Dallas next season.

  • On the opening drive, Cooper Rush moved Dallas into Philadelphia territory before Chauncey Gardner-Johnson read the eyes of Rush and jumped a route to make a leaping interception. Gardner-Johnson returned the interception 70 yards for the first defensive touchdown for the Eagles this season. Dallas came right back, with Rush guiding Dallas down the field before throwing a short touchdown pass to Jalen Tolbert.

After some ugly possessions ending in punts, the Eagles offense got moving, with Pickett connecting with Grant Calcaterra for 34 yards. To end the drive, Pickett lofted in a nice touchdown toss to a wide-open Devonta Smith. Another Eagles drive added a field goal, and Gardner-Johnson picked off Rush again at the Philadelphia eight-yard line to protect the lead. Pickett lofted in a deep ball to Smith for 49 yards to the Cowboys’ 1-yard line. The tush-push worked at the one to give the Eagles a 24-7 lead at halftime. Midway through the third quarter, Philadelphia added a field goal drive, but Micah Parsons rocked Pickett with a bone-rattling hit. That led Pickett to go into the locker room with a rib injury. Tanner McKee came into the game, and the Eagles offense kept moving easily, with McKee hitting a 19-yard back-shoulder touchdown to A.J. Brown. McKee connected with Smith for a 25-yard touchdown early in the fourth quarter to cap the blowout.

  • Dolphins 20, Browns 3
    By Charlie Campbell – @draftcampbell

  • EDITOR’S NOTE: What a shocker! Alec Ingold was not involved in Miami’s game plan with Tua Tagovailoa’s absence. Tyreek Hill has been a ghost when Tagovailoa has been sidelined, but not this week.

  • Before the game, the Dolphins caught some breaks to keep their postseason hopes alive. Miami got help with the Broncos and Colts losing, so if the Dolphins could win over the Browns, win again next week, and get some help via Denver losing, Miami has a shot to sneak into the playoffs as the final wild card. With Cleveland starting Dorian Thompson-Robinson and Miami going with Tyler Huntley, both offenses struggled behind their backup quarterbacks. But the Dolphins’ defense did the heavy lifting, carrying Miami to a road win.

  • The Dolphins got on the board first midway through the first quarter as Jason Sanders banked a 54-yard field goal off the upright and threw the goalposts to give Miami a 3-0 lead. The Browns answered with a field goal to tie the game, and the Dolphins added a field goal late in the second quarter to take a 6-3 lead at halftime.

Early in the third quarter, Miami put a drive together, ending with Huntley darting into the end zone. The Dolphins’ defense smothered Dorian Thompson-Robinson, and he struggled to complete passes, with his receivers hurting him with dropped balls. Miami shut out the Browns in the final two quarters and added a short touchdown pass to Jonnu Smith.

  • Vikings 27, Packers 25
  • If the Packers had aspirations of passing the Vikings to be the No. 5 seed, we didn’t see it from them in this game. Green Bay made mistakes all afternoon, beginning immediately when Josh Jacobs lost a fumble on the opening drive. The Packers continued to make sloppy errors with silly penalties, including one where they lined up offsides on a field goal conversion. “No Cookie” Jordan Love didn’t play a clean game either, constantly throwing off his back foot.

The Vikings, meanwhile, played a very clean game. Sam Darnold wass terrific, completing passes at a very high rate. It helped that Darnold saw a clean pocket all afternoon. Green Bay didn’t even sniff Darnold.

The only blemish for the Vikings was their in-game management. For some reason, they eschewed a fourth-and-3 in favor of a 57-yard field goal, which was predictably missed. Kevin O’Connell also misused his timeouts prior to halftime. This, however, didn’t matter because the Vikings, up 13-3 to begin the second half, marched down the field with Darnold throwing an 18-yard touchdown to Jordan Addison, which put them up 20-3.

The Packers threatened late with a touchdown off an interception and another score to eventually draw to within two. They had enough time to force a punt and kick the game-winning field goal, but Darnold came up big in the clutch with two throws to move the sticks.

  • This win for Minnesota allowed for the team to have a chance to claim the No. 1 pick. All they have to do is go into Detroit and beat the Lions.

  • The Packers’ low-effort performance could have its benefits, as the team could be humbled after clobbering the Saints in the first shutout of the year.

  • Redskins 30, Falcons 24
  • Jayden Daniels has locked up Offensive Rookie of the Year, but this game showed that Michael Penix Jr. may have been in contention for the award had he played the entire season. Penix began poorly with an interception to set up a Washington touchdown, but he eventually settled in and performed better. He gave the Falcons a 17-7 lead, thanks to a touchdown drive in which Penix completed a long pass to Drake London.

The Redskins came back from a big deficit last week, and they did it again this Sunday night. They held the ball for what seemed like an eternity despite injury issues on the offensive line. Daniels ran circles around the Falcons and eventually went up seven.

It was Penix’s turn to mount a comeback. Down seven with limited time remaining, Penix launched a deep ball to London to convert a fourth-and-11. He then overcame a huge loss on a botched snap to fire a 13-yard touchdown to Kyle Pitts.

Following a Washington three-and-out, Penix delivered a 25-yard completion to Darnell Mooney and then drew an interference flag on another pass to Mooney. This gave the Falcons a chance to win with a 53-yard field goal, but Riley Patterson missed.

The Redskins won the coin toss in overtime and never relinquished possession. Daniels continued to run arond Atlanta’s bewildered defense, ultimately finding Zach Ertz in the end zone to win the game.

  • The Redskins clinched playoff berth in the wake of this win. Their victory also allowed the Rams to clinch the NFC West.

  • The Falcons lost control of the AFC South. They can still win the division by prevailing next week versus Carolina, but the Buccaneers also must lose to the Saints.

  • Lions 40, 49ers 34
  • It was unclear if the Lions would play their starters in this meaningless game. There was some belief that Dan Campbell would use his starters for the half and then bench them after intermission. A large gambling syndacite thought this would occur, as it unloaded on the Lions first-half spread.

This was absolutely incorrect, with Detroit’s first-stringers playing the entire game. The Lions didn’t even play well in the opening half, as their defense couldn’t stop Brock Purdy. The San Francisco quarterback was 14-of-16 in the opening half, and he scored on every single possession, save for the final one prior to halftime when a long field goal was missed. The Lions also had an explosive offensive performance, though they stalled on one occasion in the red zone.

The 49ers entered the third quarter with a 21-13 lead, and it looked like it was going to be a long night for Detroit’s defense, especially when the 49ers scored on the opening offensive drive of the second half. This, however, was the final time the 49ers would score until garbage time. The Lions intercepted Purdy twice, including once deep in Detroit territory. The Lions’ offense, meanwhile, continued to thrive. When Jahmyr Gibbs broke free for a 30-yard touchdown, the Lions notched 40 points, making this an unusual NFL game in which there were 10 total touchdowns and zero punts.

  • The Lions are fortunate that they didn’t suffer any injuries in this game. Amon-Ra St. Brown seemed to get hurt on one occasion, but he turned out to be OK. Still, Detroit remained unscathed and perhaps built some confidence heading into next week’s big game.

  • Purdy suffered a wrist injury on the final drive of the game. He tried to throw on the sidelines, but gave up after two light tosses. Joshua Dobbs may start the season finale next week.
